Jake the growling dog shares his trail is a wonderful children’s book about overcoming fears and accepting the differences of some people. I love the way Jake overcomes his fear and makes a new friend along the way. He’s fun and energetic and is such a great book for kids. It teaches you about differences and how it doesn’t change who you are or what you can do. If you have kids I recommend this book to read to them.

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail (Jake the Growling Dog Book 3) by Samantha Shannon is just as wonderful as the first two installments in this series. Ms. Shannon gives us adorable fluffy characters that you can’t help but fall in love with alone with a fun and entertaining story for all ages. The animal illustrations are simply adorable and will leave you wishing you could just pet every character and give them lots of treats and love, while the scenery illustrations are beautiful and breathtaking. Not only are these books super adorable and enjoyable but my five year old daughter loves them and can’t wait for the next Jake story.

This is a great, sweet, and fun book to read with underlying lessons. This demonstrates how we can all be different and still work all together. Jake finds a different set of paw prints on his trail which makes him stressed and uneasy. Join Jake and his friends while they try to uncover the mystery. The illustrations were amazing and fun to follow along with the story. I was so happy to read this first book from the author, that I did a little research. An interesting fact that I found is that the Jake books are based off a real dog! I would highly recommend this for growing children!

Fist, this is an amazing series of books! I love Jake the Growling Dog!! This one in particular, Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail really resonated with me. If I had, had something like this when I was young I would not have felt so alone with all my fears. I love the illustrations, I love that Jake never goes through something alone. I especially loved that this one had visible disability representation as well! Just so many good things, I can’t praise enough. Also that at the end it gives helpful tips on how to work through fears and does not belittle the fact that everyone has them. Loved it, would recommend to anyone! Well done Samantha Shannon with the story and Lei Yang on Illustrations.

I really like the Jake the Growling Dog series. Jake smells something new on his trail, and it scares him. His friends come over and they check it out together. What do they find? Just another dog, but he is different. We are all different in our own ways, but when there are disabilities involved, kids don’t always want to talk to them or make friends. This was a great reminder that we all want friends. The activities in the back are amazing also! They totally give opportunities to talk to your kid(s) about differences, how to be a good friend, and how to just be a good person.

This is a fantastic children’s book. The illustrations were creative and beautiful. I believe you are never to young to enjoy a great children’s book. This story made me smile from ear to ear from beginning to end. Jake finds himself unsure when he sees different paw prints on his favorite walking trail. What kind of animal would it be? As Jake’s friends of Luna, Bodhi and Neet try and help Jake to not be scared and help him find who these paw prints belong to. The group meets Tuck and the story unfolds from there. I highly recommend this children’s story that is full of fun, mystery and compassion.

“Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail” written by Samantha Shannon is a very well written children’s book concentrating on disability awareness and making new friends! Jake finds strange tracks on his trail and he is filled with worry. His friends offer to help find this mysterious creature, and they set off! They soon meet a new friend along the trail, named Tuck. With Tuck’s assistance, they find that even though someone may have differences, these differences are nothing to be frightened of. When reading this book out loud to my children, they were delighted to point out the clever rhyming words. The author makes great use of description words as well! I found the book to be very creative.

This amazing story of Jake and his friends is a wonderful resource to help kids navigate the fear of meeting new people. When fear takes hold of the mind of a child it can grow into something that disturbs sleep and the way they approach life. The story itself shows that is not scary to meet a new person who is different from you. New people can be new friends. The extra activities and resources in the back of the book are great conversation starting points and ways to have children and adults interact to keep the discussion going. I would definately recommend this for the children in your life.

Jake the dog has so much to teach little ones. This is such a good book for back to school, home schooling, or even daycares. It touches base on being able to work through being scared and knowing how to talk about that to friends/family. It’s such a good little read for parents and kids to have a jumping off point to talk about hard things. The artwork that went along with the story is adorable also. Happy Trails Jake!!

This is an ADORABLE story about a dog being afraid of something he doesn’t understand. He meets a new friend that doesn’t quite look the same as him and his friends. However, they all quickly realize that it doesn’t matter. I enjoyed this story. It’s perfect for small children to understand that different doesn’t mean you need to be afraid. Sometimes different is the same it just doesn’t look the same. I think the story is beautifully written and the illustrations wonderfully done.

A sweet little story for your little ones. Jake is supported by his friends to get through his fears, and does lots of exploring in this rhyming read. The characters are fun and memorable, and there’s lots of little details about animals and nature to make this a playful read. The illustrations are beautiful, and really bring out the wonder in this tale. A good read that reminds us that everyone is different, and differences don’t have to be scary.

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail: A Touching Tale of Sharing, Disability Awareness, Kindness and Overcoming Fears by Samantha Shannon is the third book on this absolutely wonderful series. When I saw there was another book to read I was so excited – possibly even more so than my daughter! We have reread the first two books so many times and could not wait to add this one too then. This book is just as fantastic as the others. It is educational and informative in a way that kids will understand and relate to. It is fun and entertaining while still touching on sensitive topics. This really is a brilliant series for any child to read. They are a firm favourite in our house and we are already looking forward to Jake’s next adventure.

Jake the dog is at it again! Helping children learn from his experiences and helping to overcome fear and differences. I really liked that Jake was immediately excepting of the other characters differences. I also liked that it all played out as a big mystery, showing how the mind can jump to incorrect conclusions. Similar to other Jake the Dog stories, the activities in the back are a great addition to help teach children how to respond when they experience things similar to Jake! The book would be a great addition to any classroom or great to help any parent who is looking for ways to teach their children.

This is the third book in this series that I have read. I have thoroughly enjoyed all these books. They are all have such great messages that they teach. This was probably my favorite out of all the books so far just because of the story that it told. It has such a powerful meaning to it, and I think that it is important for all children to read it for understanding that not all of us are born perfect and that there is nothing wrong with that. The illustrations are just as great in this book as the previous two. I love the animals and nature scenes. Also, at the end of the book were some great activities to help kids overcome or at least talk about their own personal fears. I highly suggest getting this book for your kids, friends, or family members kids and even for classroom teachers. It’s a great book that needs to be shared with our children.

This was a cute story with a great message. As an elementary school teacher, this would be a great shared reading experience for discussion. The characters are enjoyable and the illustrations are beautiful. The rhyming is a fun part of the book for the kids but some of them are a little forced. I also liked the activities included at the end of the story. Overall, this book was one I would check out the others in the series to see other adventures of Jake’s.

This was a touching book. My son is older (10 years old) but when I read it to him, he also enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to kids of all ages.
Jack the Growling Dog finds weird paw prints on his normal daily trail. He does not recognize it as any animal he has ever seen before. He meets up with his other dog friends named Luna and Bodhi to find this strange creature. The dogs are scared and worried about what they might find but the trio encourage each other to push forward in this endeavor.
This book touches a subject most kids don’t really understand on their own which is don’t judge a person (or dog) by how they look.
Another bonus for me personally when I was reading this book was one of the dog friends Bodhi. My dog’s name is also Bodhi so when I was reading this book out loud, he joined us and his ears perked up every time he heard his name!

This was a fun children’s book about the adventures of Jake, the growling dog. In this story, Jake and one of his squirrel friends come upon strange tracks on his trail. Clearly upset by this, he and his two dog friends set out to discover what would leave those tracks. Along the way, another dog, with only three legs, joins up with them and the mystery of the strange tracks is solved. This book is a wonderful story, educating children about people with physical differences and that they aren’t scary. They can even become our friends, as well.

My kids absolutely LOVED this story! This is the first Jake book we have read but we will definitely be reading others. Samantha Shannon has created a beautiful way of teaching kids about their world. In this book, Jake and his friends learn about facing fears, leaning on one another in times of need, and making and accepting new friends, even when they are a little different. The story is engaging and gives plenty of opportunity for discussion. As a mother of special needs children, this story warmed my heart. Jake is a fun and loveable, rambunctious little dog that is relatable to children. The pictures in the book are detailed with vibrant and eye-catching colors. They are perfect for helping young readers to follow the story. This definitely is a book that, in my opinion, needs to be read by an adult or slightly more advanced reader, as there are some challenging words, but it makes story time as a family fun!

My kiddos and I love the Jake the growling dog stories! There are so many opportunities to learn while reading and having fun. In this book Jake and Neet discover some new tracks and don’t know what to make of them. They worry and let their imaginations run wild which even as an adult I can be known to do. In fear they run home and hide. The next day though they gather some friends and go investigate. Brave pups that they are they find the culprit and a wonderful new friend who due to his disability was the cause of the strange tracks. I love that this book shows children how to be supportive of each other no matter what and help Jake conquer his fear. I also love how it shows children it’s okay to be different and that doesn’t make anyone any less of a person or animal. The activities included at the end of the book make this a great teaching tool and makes it a fun way for children to practice what this book teaches or to work through their own uncertainties or fears.

I truly believe the author has the way with in this book. As well as that, she teachers her readers wonderful life lessons that truly can be cherished. This book was a book I enjoyed reading to my neighbors kids. The artwork is fantastic. I love the fine details alone of the artwork but as well as the story itself of Jake as his friends. The book itself has life lessons I find, which is really wonderful I think.
Jake loves his adventures down the trail. Sometimes scary things happen though, and he is not sure what it is. He feels afraid, and that is ok, as we all get afraid sometimes .I loved that this book with Jake and as well as his friends, as it shows how much friends can impact your life in a positive way, You are never alone no matter what you face, or feel, you got fiends at your side as Jake did o help you. They face the unknown together and realize that something that seemed scary was actually beautiful in the end. These are the powers facing your fears with your friends, at your side, and well it makes everything less scary in the end.
The book itself is so powerful with its life lessons, and to me that is what makes it a wonderful book. The author, she addresses life lessons as I said helps children to understand common emotions or things they may experience as they go through life and as they grow up. The boo is cute and sweet and is a book all can enjoy. Reading of Jake and his adventures is touching and sweet. Its a book I do very much highly recommend. Its a good book, a good story, and full of happy smiles upon reading.

Jake The Growling Dog Shares His Trail is another winner! This book does a fantastic job of explaining the fear of new and different things and it cn be scary. Worry can get away from us all. When Jake realizes what the new and different item is, his reaction shows how it is okay to react. Be honest. We are big fans of Jake the Growling Dog as he teaches wonderful values. Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail: A Touching Tale of Sharing, Disability Awareness, Kindness, and Overcoming Fears by Samantha Shannon is a fabulously written tale describing disability, fear and acceptance which children can better understand that not everyone is the same and even though we are all different, we all need kindness and friends who like you you for who you are and not what you may look like or sound like. The story points out fear and how one can learn to not be afraid of things that are different. The author sets out all the various issues within the book so well, a child would get a lot out of this story. So I encourage all the littlies to go on an adventure with Jake and his friends and learn all the lessons that are intertwined in the story. 5 stars.

I ready children’s books to my daughters often, and I love when I am able to find a new series or author that they enjoy. This is my first time reading a book from “Jake the Growling Dog,” series and I can’t wait to read the others. The story was fun to read, and it taught an important lesson. Kids can be confused, fearful, curious, or unable to understand why others may be different than them. This book shows that not everyone is the same, and we have to appreciate and celebrate what makes us the same as much as what makes us different. When Jake finds a different set of paw prints on his trail he is immediately afraid and uncomfortable. He does not know what to make of foot prints or the possible creature that created them. From there its a journey with his friends to find out where the prints came from, and if they need to be worried. Its a very cute story, and I recommend that all children get a chance to enjoy this book.

In this wonderfully illustrated children’s book, author Samantha Shannon explores many challenging and important childhood emotions. One of the over all themes was how to acknowledge and face fear of the unknow. This book demonstrates how compassion, acceptance, and friendship are vital tools to use in life. The story line is easy to follow, and the complexities of fear-based reactions are demonstrated in a simple yet engaging way. My 7-year-old read it out loud as part of her summer reading practice and loved it. We will be looking into the other books by this author as well!

This book and the two before it are such wonderful books for kids. This book teaches kids that although others make look different, sound different, or learn different doesn’t mean you need to be scared. You can make friends with all types of people and animals. This book also includes some helpful tips in the back that helps you to explore your child(rens) fears and some steps to help they overcome said fears. It also has a section on sharing, being kind, donating old stuff, helping others, and much more. I read this book with my 6 and 9 year old. They loved the characters, the illustrations, and the activities in the back. I’d definitely recommend this book to all growing and learning kids.

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail: A Touching Tale of Sharing, Disability Awareness, Kindness, and Overcoming Fears by Samantha Shannon 5 Stars!!!!!
I just love that this author has a great character and teaches such good lessons in her books. I just wish my children were young enough to have this book. I find that the author brings the characters to life and really reaches out to kids to help them learn. I would recommend this book to anyone with small children.
I really think that using books to help teach kids valuable lessons is a good tool. This although short has a good message for kids and is delivered real well. I would definitely get this for any child .
