Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago, #1)Deceptively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Deceptively Yours and I just didn’t see eye to eye! There should definitely be trigger warnings involved. I had high hopes for this book and it fell flat.
The story seemed forced and at times the book didn’t flow. I think I kept looking for something that was missing and it made it hard to get into and really love the book.
I will not let this deter me from this author though and I will try other books by her.

Cruel Truths: A Grumpy Boss – Enemies to Lovers Romance by T. Christensen- reviewed by Stephanie Dulac

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan #3)Cruel Truths by T. Christensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cruel Truths is book three in the Tessa and Jordan series by this Author. I Unfortunately, did not read the first two books but I was still able to follow along this story. If you like Enemies to lovers and Contemporary romance this series is for you. Lindy is a fashion designer and just moved and she now has this mean new boss Cade. He really knows how to push her buttons and that drives Lindy crazy. I feel like Lindy having to play Cade’s Fake girlfriend might of softened her heart a little. You will have to read this book to find out how it plays out. I Really enjoyed following Cade and Lindy through their journey. I highly Recommend this book. You will fall in love with the Charaters of this series they are wonderful to read about. Thanks again to this Author for a great read and i look forward to read more books by you.

Wild For Me (The Balefire Series Book 3) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Kay Stritesky

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wild For Me was a good read. While I have not read the previous books in this series I did not feel like I was missing much. It can be read as a stand alone. I think at this point we have all read enough romance novels to know what’s going to happen however the characters were nice and the plot kept my attention! The spice level was stepped up in this book. My biggest issue which is why I keep going between three or four star rating is the manager in this book. The band knows they have a manager who is sexually harassing people borderline sexual assault and nothing is done about it. The band says oh he’s a good manager. It made my blood boil the entire time I was reading it!

Broken. (Green St. Girls Series) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

Broken. (Green St. Girls #2)Broken. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Broken was a wonderful addition to the Green Street Girls Series. I picked up book one on a whim, but I am intentionally reading book two, and I am intending to pick up any other books that this author wants to add to this series. Broken has one big trigger, sexual assault to a minor, it’s not graphically described but could trigger some sensitive readers. It’s also a main topic as it’s one of the reasons Indigo is the way she is, why she struggles with relationships, her own body, sexuality, and why she has such a hard time trusting people. At times some of the language/conversations/dialogue seems a little immature which I feel was intentional due to what happened to Indigo. Her trauma didn’t allow her to grow emotionally like she should have. I loved Gideon. He had his own things to hash out, and overcome which made the book/characters so much more realistic because neither of them were perfect. Broken is technically it’s own story, and it gives enough background to understand where the Green Street Girls come from, how they got where they are, and what they have accomplished that you don’t have to read book one, but all of the characters from book one are in book two including Tru who is a main character in book one.

The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The Husbands was a great read. The author has great writing skill. So far I can’t choose a favorite for the author.

Augustine was shot in the arm and lost use of it. Now he’s suffering and making everyone else suffer. He doesn’t mean to take it out on his wife. Then he runs into an old friend. The quote I chose for Augustine is: “I’d have slept longer, but the food lured me awake. What do you have planned for the day?”

Dorian takes odd jobs now and again. He really can’t rest until he knows someone is alright. Will he ever be able to do that? The quote I chose for Dorian is: “Successful. Did you do anything interesting while I was gone, besides turn our house into a Halloween playground?”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Paige and the Reluctant Artist is a fantastic read. I loved how Paige was taken with Mark right from the beginning. Storm Cloud also helped and made my love for horses deeper.

Paige is an art curator and loves her job. Life hasn’t always been so kind, but she made it to the top. Seeing a painting she wants to get to know the artist behind it. When she does meet the artist she becomes completely attracted to him. Will she get her happily ever after? The quote I chose for Paige is: “I just became lost, spinning in circles, completely unraveling, until I met Mark. He doesn’t see my career, or my designer clothes, or my oh-so-chic uptown apartment. He sees me. The me that’s been buried inside, the me that somehow convinced myself that my worth was in what I did, what I wore, where I lived, instead of the me that could care less about all of it. The me that would willingly live under a bridge with the most incredible man in the world and still know that I hit the jackpot. He opened his heart, left himself vulnerable, for me. So you see, I am still unraveling, but tenderly, wholly, and with all of my heart.”

Mark loves to paint in his downtime and he loves to rescue horses. Storm Cloud being the first and many to follow after. Storm Cloud is also what led Paige to him. Well, a painting of Storm Cloud. Mark has to overcome some challenges, but will he be able to do it? The quote I chose for Mark is: “I love you, Paige. I think I fell in love with you that first day we met. I don’t know if it was when your shoe got stuck in the mud, or when I heard you curse like a sailor under your breath or the moment I first looked into your incredible eyes and in their depths, recognized a friend. I felt like I just had a gut punch and it hasn’t changed with time. I want you to know that your suitcase is over by my closet, because this room is ours. I want you in my bed, our bed, from now on.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

The Mastermind : A Brother’s Best Friend Romance (WaterFyre Rising #1) by Nadia Han

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The Mastermind is a fantastic book. It’s the first book in the WaterFyre Rising Series. It will leave you wanting more.

Audri works for a big company that is being sold. She runs into her brother’s best friend while on her way to HR to file a complaint. Then she keeps seeing him everywhere she goes. He even shows up to her apartment. The quote I chose for Audri is: “A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right? I don’t trust that family. They knew I had issues with Lawrence for a while and did nothing. If things don’t stop . . . I don’t know. I’ll resign and take them to court, but I hope it doesn’t come to that. I don’t need more stress.”

Remi isn’t one to settle down. That’s until he sees Audri again. She’s not the teen he remembers, but the beautiful woman he wants. He doesn’t get attached, but that might change for Audri. The quote I chose for Remi is: “Seems like the a**hole is at it again, using a different number. Most likely, it’s a burner phone. I have my guy looking into it.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 1) by Rowan Rossler- Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

The Cruiser (The Hustlers Trilogy, #1)The Cruiser by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I picked up this book due to someone’s recommendation. The cover of the book definitely pulled me in. The author was unfamiliar to me but after reading this playboy turns romantic, steamy romp through the ocean I will definitely pick up more books by the author. At first I had a little trouble getting into The Cruiser and I started to think this book wasn’t for me but as I kept reading the book pulled me in and I ended up really enjoying it. Morgan, a yacht designer, hires Vandana, a PR person, to manage his public relations. Once she meets Morgan and goes over his terms she starts to wonder if she’s ready to take a trip to Monaco with a man she doesn’t know or if she’s bitten off more than she can chew. The Cruiser is a steamy romance that will pull you in and knock your socks off.

Until There Was You by G. Colgrove – Review by Devon Pulliam

Until there was youUntil there was you by G. Colgrove
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First things first, if you aren’t into risque reads this book will not be for you. The story is so good though and not my normal read but I could not put it down once I started. I love how the author writes each chapter from either Regan or Jeremy. It kept the story flowing and you get both sides of their journey and history without getting lost in the details. I found myself wanting more once it was over. There are parts of this book that are relatable to many people, the relationship and family struggles. There is so much emotion in the writing that I found myself crying right along with Regan and being angry right along with her and Jeremy.

When Regan needed Jeremy the most he was there, even tho she didn’t know she needed him or wanted him there at that time. Their story captures your heart even with all the sex its a great story. One that pulls on your heartstrings because Regan is essentially a local going nowhere based on her last name and where she lives. No one expects more out of her. She even says at one point that fairytales don’t exist and love like theirs isn’t real.

This story really shows that true love can overcome the hardest of obstacles and family drama. I was so glad when Phillip told Jeremy about the real reason Regan left. He’s such a great friend to Regan and even Jeremy at the end. To risk his lifelong friendship to tell Jeremy the truth.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas #4) by Marianne Rice

This is the first book I’ve read by Rice. This is the fourth book in the A Wilton Hills Christmas Series. Although it can be read as a standalone. Snowflakes & Stockings is a great short read and a wonderful story.

Liberty is on the lookout for Maine’s Secret Santa who gives thousands away during Christmas. When she gets down to three people one of them sticks out more than the other two. When she meets Sawyer she doesn’t think it’s him because he doesn’t have Christmas spirit. The quote I chose for Liberty is: “Oh my gosh. I love Noodle, and I haven’t eaten all day either. I swear, if it wasn’t for my camera crew or for Lizzie, the assistant manager at the station, I’d go days without eating. No, that’s not entirely true. My family wouldn’t allow that. It seems every week we have a gathering that involves copious amounts of food. Anyway, I digress. I apologize. A dinner meeting is perfect.”

Sawyer doesn’t really like Christmas because of the loss he and his family had. He meets with Liberty under the assumptions of doing an article of Campbell Tech. The quote I chose for Sawyer is: “Baby of the family? I don’t see it. You’re an established professional working in a field that requires deadlines. You wouldn’t be where you are if you didn’t meet them. And you wouldn’t be where you are by riding someone else’s coattails. I may be wrong with your birth order but I’m right on all other accounts.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Jacks. Each book seems to get better. The more I read the more I fall in love with the author. I highly recommend you read any of her books.

Jody has gotten fired from another job. Now her sister is mad at her because she can’t keep a job. Her grandmother is now hurt and her sister can’t make it down to help. Going down herself might be what’s best for everyone. The quote I chose for Jody is: “Don’t call me that, you’re not my mother. I was on a trial. The probation period has come to an end which means I’m free to go. I didn’t do anything.”

Adam has always kept his head down when it comes to new people in town. But when Mrs. Evans needs help, he’s there to help out. He keeps calling Hannah hoping to get her to come down, but he wasn’t expecting Jody to be the one to show up. The quote I chose for Adam is: “I need to get a move on if I want to finish my round before teatime. I’ll check in with you tomorrow morning unless you need anything else.”

Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read (Naughty Neighbor Book 1) by Ashley Bostock

This is the first book I’ve read by Bostock. It certainly won’t be my last. Sex on Fire is the first book in the Naughty Neighbors Series. This is a very short sexy story.

Turner moved into the neighborhood and has his eyes set on his next door neighbor. Befriending her was step one and now he’s got to convince her that he likes her. Hell he’s falling for her. The quote I chose for Turner is: “Stop trying to talk me out of being into you. Do you have even a little bit of attraction to me? You’re, like, the only woman on the block who’s attention I can’t seem to get.”

Poppy is a video game designer and player. She loves her job and is nuts over her neighbor. Often fantasizing about him being with her sexually. So when he shows up saying he can’t lift his shoulder she helps out. The quote I chose for Poppy is: “I think I still have some of your clothes. Well, you can’t have these back. But I think I have some of your shorts, too, from the other day.”

Bad Man on Campus: a Second Chance College Romance (Big Men on Campus Book 3) by Stephanie Queen

This is the first book I’ve read by Queen. Bad Man on Campus is a great read. Queen is an author I will be coming back to read more of.

Kace is a big man on campus and has been for three years. When he goes home for his dad’s wedding he runs into a blast from the past. The one who got away. The quote I chose for Kace is: “No babe . We can handle this. You can get help. We’ll talk to Majik. She goes to AA and maybe she can sponsor you.”

Glory has had her life thrown upside down for three long years. All to help a friend out because she was drunk. Running into Kace helps heal her or so she’s hoping. Glory can’t stop drinking. The quote I chose for Glory is: “AA is too public . People will know. It’ll cause more problems for you . . . and your parents. I’ll handle this. I’ll stop drinking the nips. I’m not driving anymore. It’ll be okay. I’ll call my therapist. Or maybe I’ll talk to Dooley. He’s been a good friend. Thank you for introducing me, for asking him to take care of me.”
