Wil is trying to find his dad and El is trying to make it in music on her own. They meet and end up deciding to help each other. Both are keeping secrets from each other. Feelings are developing and a connection growing. I enjoyed reading about them both and can’t wait to read the next book.

I liked More Text Than Sex. It was written from quite a few points of view. Which can be confusing at times. At first I wasn’t sure how it would go, but it turned out well. A little shaky at first but the author’s idea got across not too far in. The idea kept me invested in these characters. Working for a struggling music company Annie and Cat come up with a song contest idea. Discover new artists get their work out there that normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to. Well they didn’t expect owner Delaney to be onboard without a fight. Well he was full of surprises he was onboard but wanted Robbie, a marketing guy involved. Navigating life as well as this contest seems to put these characters through the ringer. One dealing with a baby daddy, one trying everything she can do to help those who’ve escaped abusive situations. Another being the brother he needs to be a special needs brother. That’s sometimes a lot for one book, but it worked. All of them ended up in situations that could be devastating that caused them to lean on one another more than they expected. What are the outcomes for each character? How do they collectively get through the adversity? When life changing events happen, what impact does that have? So many questions and plenty of answers. This book gets better as it goes. I related to Robbie the most, having a special needs sibling of my own. This book has it all. Entertaining, some laughs, tons of drama, sexual tension, and plenty of passion. If that’s everything you are looking for, trust me on this, read it! You won’t regret it!

He’s a convicted felon out on parole for a crime he didn’t commit. She’s the girl who put her life on hold while he was away. Can the two pick up right where they left off?
He never should’ve gone on that beer run. If he’d stayed at the party, kissing Robyn by the bonfire, his life would’ve turned out totally different. But actions have consequences, the slam of the judge’s gavel echoing the death knell of his freedom.
Now he’s back in his hometown, starting his life over at his family’s Christmas tree farm and winery.
Running into Robyn wasn’t part of the plan.
She leaves him pining and reckless to see her again. But things permanently changed after that night so many years ago. Or so he thought.
With Robyn, he feels understood, wanted, and strong—things he hasn’t felt in a long time. When she’s in his arms, he’s tempted to trust again. To love again. To fly free again.
But deep down, he’s petrified.
Will the love they share be enough to overcome the past? Or will his second chance at happily ever after implode, confining him to a life sentence—alone?

This was a good book and the narration was good. Harper got custody of her brother while in college due to her parents unexpectedly passing. Jeremy is a teen that has the mental capacity from an accident. He’s got a fascination with cars. Not just cars, but fast cars. Harper has been in a few relationships that were semi-serious or at least headed that direction until she discovered the guys were only after her brothers trust fund. When Jeremy writes a letter to billionaire Will Franconi inquiring about seeing his car collection Harper never thought he would reply with an acceptance. Upon their meeting there is an instant attraction but Harper finds it hard to let herself fall into her feelings. Will has some skeletons on his closet that he’d rather not have see the light of day again. This blossoming relationship has the green light from Jeremy, but is Harper willing to give it a true shot? Is Will ready to be a one woman man?

This is a great romance story that was perfect to listen to while I was going about my day. This story was easy to engage with and the characters were enjoyable. Both complemented the other. I thought the narration of the book was good too. It was one of those narrations that, while I listened to it, I didn’t hear it because I was so focused on the story.
This is a pretty new author to me and so far I am enjoying her work. The pacing was perfect and the story was well written. This is one audio book that I thoroughly enjoyed and I am looking forward to the next.

I have read many books by this talented author and this one did not disappoint! This book revolves around Ava, who is a hard-working lady who has had tragedy strike which caused her to separate from her husband. Cole does not want to be separated from his wife and the last thing that he is wanting is to let his wife leave him. Cole comes up with a proposition that she cannot refuse which leads to a wonderful story line. I read this book super-fast and could not put it down. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series and continue reading about everyone’s roles and how they all play out. If you are looking for a great romance book that has a great story line, then this is the book for you!

Ella and Jared’s story is full of action and spicy romance. Snowed-in with their former lover and the current enemy is the best way to get closer but would be enough to feel the attraction of the past or would this be a mistake? Always on each other’s last nerve and full of spit and vinegar, Ella and Jared eventually let their guards down and open up to one another.
Morgan did an amazing job forming a rock star and a girl who just wanted to get away from what she thought were real feelings to I can’t stand him anymore. The best part the author used the storm’s method to bring those emotions back to the character, a truly classic story.

This is a new to me author and I really enjoyed his writing style. This story follows 3 different persons. Cat, Annie and Robbie. While at times it was a little slow, the longer you read it the more invested and involved you become. The story line flows back and forth between the 3 major characters in the story and you watch how they grow and evolve together. Seeing how they run the music contest and their own personal battles outside of work was really intriguing.

This is the first book I e read by this author. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it but it was a good read.
Cat and Annie are organizing a songwriting contest. Thanks to the order of their boss, Robbie is now also working on this contest. Each character tells their perspective of working in the music industry because no two people experience something the same way. So many pressures come up for each character through the story and you see them fight to overcome everything.
This was very well written and I enjoyed it. Glad I gave it a chance!

Ella is looking forward to some time off from this tour. She didn’t realize she’d be spending time in the proximity of a man she spent a steamy week with before he all but pushed her to the curb. She wasn’t looking for a ything serious so why did it hurt? The tour has finally come to a close and her sister has urged her to head out for the cabin a band member owns that they were to use for a week. How could one resist becoming one with nature? The last thing she expects is for the man she is trying to get away from to show up. He was promised the cabin in a mix up and would probably be anywhere else. When they get snowed in they have no choice but to make nice. They haven’t been exactly nice to one another over the last few months. Will they survive being alone unexpectedly and give in to their attraction? Or will they continue to deny that there are feelings waiting to explored further?

Defying Ella: A Close Proximity Rock Star Romance (True Platinum Series Book 4)
The tension between these two from the beginning is off the charts and it only builds from there.
Ella has no problem standing up for herself and she proves it time and time again and has earned her time away now that the tour is over.
I love Ella and felt a kinship with her as she was nested under several blankets and layers of clothes during winter weather that knocks out the power. There is nothing worse than having to emerge from that warmth.
There is so much emotion in both of them and it doesn’t always come out in the best way or result in a positive ending.
Great standalone book and it only makes me want to go back and read the others. Will definitely be keeping a lookout for more by this author.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but this was an easy-to-understand stand-alone book so it wasn’t an issue. I also want to go back and read the previous 3 books. This was an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers story with a rock star and the patient woman that has to deal with him. I took a little bit to get into it, but I finished it quickly once I did.

Defying Ella: A Close Proximity Rock Star Romance (True Platinum Series #4) by Morgana Bevan
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum Series. It can be read as a standalone. Ella and Jared will leave you wanting more. The chemistry in the book is so life like its amazing.
Jared is an up and coming rockstar. He puts on a mask to keep everyone at arms length. Then he meets Ella and she changes things. Then he’s snowed in a cabin with her. Can he go back to being the bad boy or will his need for Ella win out? The quote I chose for Jared is: “Your patience is endless. I don’t know how you kept from taking my head off when we first got snowed-in here. I wasn’t exactly the most pleasant person to be around in those first few days.”
Ella goes to the Alps to get away from Jared. She doesn’t want him to see how mad he’s driving her. Being snowed in doesn’t help her case any. She goes from wanting to kill him to wanting to be honest with himself. The quote I chose for Ella is: “I don’t care. You don’t set foot in her flat. I’m going to be a regular feature at her Saturday lunch date with the girls, I don’t want to so much as sniff out your cologne. Do I make myself clear? You live your life, I’ll live mine. Make sure they don’t fucking intersect.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

It took me a little bit to get into the groove of the story, but once I did, I was hooked. This is the first book I’ve read by Jim Shomos and I absolutely loved it!
This story centers around Robbie, Annie, and Cat. They are intertwined in an interesting manner as they navigate through the music industry, which is not kind to anyone. Robbie is a manager trying to make it big, Cat is a volunteer that is drained beyond comprehension, and Annie is a single mother just trying to make it through. Robbie is also in charge of a songwriting contest that Annie and Cat are involved in. All three have their own drama but try to help each other through it. Will they make it unscathed, or will the music industry swallow them all whole?
There are some parts of this book, if not the entire thing, that will stick with you long after you read it. Give this entertaining and curious book a chance, you won’t regret it!

This is the first book I have read from this author and the first one of this series. I was unaware that it was part of a series but the cover had me intrigued to read it. This book was really great! Rockstar Jared blew into Ella’s life out of nowhere. Jared was the bad-boy rebel who didn’t let people get too close to him. He has anxiety, is grumpy, and would rather jump from bed to bed than let himself get close to his heart. Jared and Ella shared a week of pure magic getting to know each other. But Jared rolled out of Ella’s life as fast as he entered. Ella doesn’t want to like Jared because he’s a jerk to her, but her heart says otherwise. When they ended up on the same tour bus together it was going to be hell. When Ella gets the chance to put miles between them she can’t leave fast enough. When she gets to the cabin in the middle of nowhere Ella can finally relax after months of tension. When the door flies open Ella can’t believe her eyes!! JARED!! The two end up being snowed in with no rescue in sight. This could either go very well or horribly wrong.

What’s worse than being snowed in at a cabin? Being snowed in with the man who broke your heart. Ella has a love hate relationship for Jared. When they end up working together, she cannot wait to get away and have some space for herself. Cue in the heartbreaker, forced to spend even more time together, the two discover more about themselves and what they feel for each other. Will they still feel the same after they can leave the cabin or will reality smack them in the face? I love enemy to lovers’ books! And this one, this was a great one. This is the fourth book in a series but can be read separately. I will for sure be going back to read the others!

More Text than Sex by Jim Shomos is an entertaining book that follows the story of Cat, and Robbie. Cat and Annie run a public songwriting contest that Robbie has delegated to. Robbie has hopes of romantically connecting with Annie but they run into some issues. I really enjoyed this book. It was an excellent, fun read. The plot ran smoothly and the characters were well-written. The chemistry between Robbie and Annie warmed up and then took off. The story was fun and adventurous and was a delight to read.

Although this is the 4th book in the True Platinum Series, this is the first one I have read. It totally worked as a standalone. Jared and Ella are so different. Their constant fighting on the tour is noticed by everyone. So when the two of them get snowed in together no one is sure if either will come out alive. Can they survive each other? Will they get to the true bottom of their problems? I just loved this story. It was very raw and open. I could not put it down.

Ella has been away for awhile and has come home to help her sister with Sophia, her niece while they are on tour with her boyfriends band. Unfortunately Ella had a fling with the drummer of this band before the tour not knowing who he was, and now completely hates him. Jared feels he hates Ella as well but he can’t stop thinking about that week they spent together. Ella and all the girls on the tour are set to spend two weeks by themselves in a cabin in the Alps at the end of the tour. Since Ella is having such a hard time on this tour her sister tells her to go ahead a little early to the cabin to unwind. Unfortunately for Ella, Andy the owner of the cabin has promised it to more than one person, he also told Jared he could use it as well. While they decide how to stay in this cabin together without making things worse they get snowed in and trapped. Will they be able to get along and make things better or will this make everything worse?

This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m sure it won’t be the last as I really enjoyed reading Defying Ella. Although this is the 4th book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series and didn’t feel that the author had left any gaps. All necessary information needed to enjoy and understand this story is given. In this book we get the story of drummer Jared and Ella who is the sister of another band member’s girlfriend. Jared comes across as a bit of an ass at the beginning but as his story unravels you find a very complex, tortured soul who just needs that special person to make him see who he truly is. I absolutely loved reading Jared’s story, although I admit I really wanted to slap him a few times. He really meets his match in Ella. And when they are snowed in together she realises that he has issues and is there to help him cope through the dark times. I loved Jared and Ella’s story. It’s angsty and hot all rolled into one. I was hooked from the very beginning and loved the journey right up to the very end. I definitely recommend this book.

Another new author for me, I was not sure what to expect from this book. What I found is a really delightful story told from the perspective of three different individuals. It has drama, romance, and family meddling. Once I got a couple of chapters into the story I was laughing so hard I was crying. It did take me a little to get into the story but once I did I could not put it down. The author did an excellent job making the readers feel as though they were right in the middle of this story. I was also fascinated with the inner workings of a radio station. It made me appreciate what they do because I thought it would be a much easier job. I recommend this story for any readers that enjoy rom coms.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. More Text Than Sex is a fantastic read. I didn’t want it to end and I sure as heck didn’t want to put it down. The author knows how to wow the readers.
Annie used to be a musician and now she markets. She loves what she does. Her friend on the other hand doesn’t like what they are about to do. Annie knows that in order to pull this off they need the other person. The quote I chose for Annie is: “We got the contest greenlit. We got twenty percent more budget than we asked for. And we’re getting a doco produced. We’ve had a good day. Best day we’ve had here since we got little Sophie’s song on Neighbours.”
Robbie wants to work with Annie and Cat. He knows the latter doesn’t like him, but this is the best he can do. He wants to produce Annie and get her back to singing. The quote I chose for Robbie is: “I love good music and I love your idea. When Delaney asked for a one-pager on why we shouldn’t do it, I wrote a ten-page plan to show him why Merger had to do it.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

It’s been a while since I have read a rock star romance, and Morgana Bevan reminded me why I love them so much!
To say Ella and Jared can’t stand one another would be an understatement, and almost everyone believes it’s because Jared lives up to every horrible rock star stereotype there is…womanizer, conceited, the list could go on and on. No one knows that these two spent a steamy and romantic week together before they knew who the other one was. Thankfully, she can escape him at a gorgeous, secluded cabin in the Alps, or so she thinks. Turns out he has the same idea and now the two of them are stranded together in the cabin in a snowstorm. Let the fireworks begin!!!!
I rarely give a book 5 stars when I really don’t like one of the lead characters, in this case, Jared. However, I thought it was genius on Bevan’s part. She made me really feel something for a character even if it was frustration and anger. I felt the same feelings Ella did, and that is exactly what every writer wants their reader to feel, an emotional reaction to their characters. Somewhere in the middle of the book, my feelings began to change just as Ella’s did. I began seeing why his behavior ran so hot and cold…fear. Then, my heart started melting, and I began to fall for him, again just like Ella.
I have said a lot about Jared, now it’s Ella’s turn. Oh my goodness, this woman has more patience than I would have had. She could sling insults back at Jared, but nothing that ripped him to the core. Yet, she always saw him for who he was, not the rock star, but who he was. She knew there was something special underneath all the arrogance he showed to everyone else. What was even more special about her, she wasn’t perfect either. She didn’t have her life figured out, but she never gave up when it came to the direction of her professional life or her feelings for Jared.
Now, that I have dissected the characters, I will address the story itself. I loved it! There was sweetness, angst, and lots of steam. If that wasn’t enough, Bevan addressed something that is plaguing so many people today, anxiety. As someone who suffers from it myself, I appreciate her bringing a spotlight to it. I hope that Jared’s story will bring light to someone who may be suffering from it. Thank you, Morgana Bevan, for giving your readers such a fantastic book!

5 Stars Defying Ella (True Platinum Series Book 4) by Morgana Bevan
Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum Series and is a Rock Star Romance/ Contemporary Romance that I truly enjoyed reading. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to be going back and checking out the other books in this series . This is a fast paced story that I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen next. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with amazing characters make for a wonderful story. These two have great chemistry and seem to need one another more than they may think. What will happen when they find themselves in a cabin snowed in for several days? I highly recommend reading this standalone story to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This book is an indulgence for your senses, the story is told from 3 different perspectives, Annie, Robbie and Cat, the protagonists describe what it is like to work in a music record studio.
Cat and Annie organize a song writing contest, which Robbie joins on the orders of their boss, which at first seems like a disaster ends up making the event even more incredible. Throughout the contest, Cat explains how her life is based on what music makes her feel, and how her work at the teen activity center fills her with a fullness that she didn’t think she would achieve. Annie for her part demonstrates the challenge of being a single mother who has an incredible talent for singing and instills love for music in her child. They must face his father when he returns after abandoning them when she told him about her pregnancy . Robbie, who at the beginning is shown as a villain, turns out to be a hidden genius in business and management of musical talent, his life is filled with love for music as well as the care of his brother, whose special needs allow him to be an organized store of music. and songs.Along their narrative the common problems surrounding them will try to crush the mental and physical health> drugs, money and unknown outcomes tainted the goals, but they will fight to overcome them.
Thanks to the work carried out by the 3, the stories are spun in a way that friendship and love merge into a story full of complex feelings and musical notes.

They began as lovers but quickly changed to enemy’s as Ella is faced with Jared’s true nature while on tour with his band as a babysitter. At the first chance, Ella escapes early to a cabin but unfortunate events and an approaching snow storm have her trapped there with Jared. As the two try to figure out their balance and understanding of one another, they quickly realize that they do have feelings for each other. We are faced with the question if these two former lovers can reignite the spark and make it last in the real world. I really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend to anyone who likes the enemy to lover trope.

I don’t think I have ever wanted to shake a person as hard as I wanted to shake Jared. He infuriated me to no end. Towards the end he did redeem himself but it was a struggle to get there. Ella has the patience of a saint to deal with him. Their story is a good one, it just takes a minute to get to the good stuff. I’m going to read the rest of the series to get to know the other couples better.
