this is the first book I have read by this I adore Brees’s character. Bree and Nate just fit so well together. This is such a fun read we learn so much about each character and especially through Bree’s prescriptive. Bree has her fair of bad men and dates is Nate the one or is it another bad omen. The chemistry between Bree and Nate is explosive and jumps off the page.

This book has everything you’d want in a great love story. The main character in this book, Jax Hunt, is a sexy man who has so much of his life in front of him. However, he has lost hope because he is in a wheelchair and he feels like all women see when they look at him is his disability. When he meets Lennox, he is willing to do whatever it takes to show her the man he can be. Can they work through all of the obstacles in their way to be together? Or is this just another dead end for Jax? Read this book if you love romance, conflicts, and entertaining characters.

I loved this book so much! It was actually the first book of this series that I read. I will definitely be going back to read the others now! Kindle and Levi were absolutely perfect for each other and I loved both of them so much. I really enjoyed reading the entire book from his point of view because often that does not happen. The book had the perfect amount of comedy and romance and it was just so good.

This book was a little different than my normal read and I really enjoyed it. Bree is not looking to date her typical jock type. She branches out and tries new things in an effort to meet new people. First, she meets Nate at the tennis club. He wants to date but she has sworn off his type. So, they become friends. Then her dad introduces her to Steven and they quickly hit it off.
As Close to Perfect is a quick and light read.

The True Garza (Red Cage Book 3) by S. Ann Cole – Review by Shea Gilkerson

The True Garza (Red Cage, #3)The True Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My first time to read by this author but will be back for more! This book offers romance and longing, mystery, hot scenes, dangerous action, great relationship building and offers us flawed, real humans as characters to get in to.

London is one tough woman who can hold her own, but after a series of tragedies in Denver, hiding out in a cabin to give herself a chance to heal, a very hot week with a stranger who gave a fake name and an intervention of sorts from her family – she’s back in LA. As a highly trained and extremely competitive woman in a “man’s world”, London has learned she has to work harder, smarter, and take more risks to prove she is ahead of the game. As she comes back to join her Uncle Walter and brother in the special FBI unit, she finds she is assisting another, even more exclusive, agency in the business of protection. Red Cage is full of giant, imposing, very well trained men and now London is embedded in their business. As she learns about the job she is supposed to be doing, she finds HIM – the man who saved her from herself an entire year ago, while she was in isolation, and whom she hasn’t stopped dreaming about since.

True is “the nice brother” in Red Cage and works with several of his brothers to run the agency. He loves action in the field and women, but he also never forgot the hot stranger he spent a week with 1 year ago. We find that True has ADHD and it both makes him great at what he does, and struggle with relationships. He has spent so long being chased and pursued by any number of women that he doesn’t know how to have a relationship, or how to care about someone beyond his family – but he can’t get London out of his mind.

London and True get under each others skin, so obsessed with one another that they can’t stop what’s happening between them – no matter how hard they both try. I especially love that this book has flawed humans who then find healthy ways to heal and be strong together. While this is book 3 in the series, it was a nice standalone and I didn’t feel lost. Running off for book 1 in this series now!

This book is absolutely brilliant. It has such a strong storyline to it and it had me hooked right from the word go. I was pulled into this world and could not stop reading.
A large part of that was because of the characters. For me they made this book. Their connection was so intense and captivating. I couldn’t seem to take my eyes off them. This is an incredible story and I would urge every one to read it immediately.

THIS story is ALWAYS on my Mind!! I can’t stop thinking about it when on those rare occasions I am not reading it. It is a simply captivating storyline to me. My favorite thing is the banter and strength of the characters. I can not get enough of True and Lonny in or out of the bedroom. They are electric! I also want to smack them both upside the head more than once for their actions or reactions but they did keep me on my toes!

The characters are spicy and ON FIRE to near combustible when together! I love Lonny (her name included)! She has the best attitude and she is smart, strong, salty and sassy enough to compete with the alpha males! Her once weakness is True. True lives a lifestyle that I am not sure I understand. There might be more info in previous stories but he seems very different. The more I learn the more I love him.

Secondary characters make me more than curious about the other couple books I have missed. They all seem to have interesting lives and situations and how they mix together. I look forward to reading their stories. Tripp and Tillie I really didn’t identify with too much but we will see. Guy..now there is a man of mystery. Then there is the Castillo twins..wow! I was very interested in Lorenzo and Brook and will look for their story.

Overall this is a smart, snappy and simply fascinating story! The growth and work these characters put in makes it a joy to read. The last few chapters plus the epilogue with True are very eye opening. I do not understand how this author is not once I have read before! The way the story is written is exceptionally well. It starts off on fire and really it only gets hotter as the story rolls along.

I would love this on audio!

This was a great story with relatable and lovable characters in it. My love for this book is prompting me to explore the rest of the series and meet the other characters.
Levi was a guy on a higher mission. He wanted to lose his party boy ways and find his happily ever after, but was fearful of the rejection. As the story develops Kindle is introduced and our party boy starts to find his way and live his life differently. Kindle and Levi together are quite the pair and the connection and dynamic between them both will make it difficult for you to put this book down.

First thing first, I did not read the previous books in this series. That being said, this book can be read as a stand alone. You do not need to read the previous books in order to understand what is going on in this book. However, after reading this book you will want to go back and read the other two in the series. That is what I am currently doing. Now, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of this book. It is a really fast read!!! You will fall in love with the characters because of how the author us able to put feelings and actions to words written. I am a strong believer that, “If a book can make you feel what the characters are, it was written amazingly.” This book did not disappoint on that level. This book not only has all the steam you could ever possibly want but it also has mystery. You not only get to experience the quick whit of the female lead but you also get to see the strength of the male lead. Together they are an unstoppable team. You will keep turning the pages to see what is going to happen next or to even just feel the chemistry the two main characters have. It is definitely a book that will make you not quit reading until it is done. So, if you have a day where you can sit on the beach or next to the pool or even just on the couch and read, I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book I’ve read from this author, but she has blown my mind yet again. This is the fifth book in the Moto X series. This can be read as a standalone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I recommend reading the first four books before reading this one so you can get a better understanding with everything. I was so excited when I got this book, I stopped everything, and I started to read this book immediately. I was hooked on these characters right from the beginning. It only took me a day to read this awesome book. I highly recommend this book for any and everyone who is interested in reading. You will not be disappointed.
Levi Crowe us known as the party boy. He has everything that he could ever need at his disposal and a body and skill that all women drool over. He has the time of his life every weekend and legendary black outs that are a good source of laughter for everyone but him. But the truth is, he is worn out. Nothing changes until he’s rejected several times by the same woman that he can’t get out of his head. A series of events leads him to getting his life on a better track and here enters Kindle James, his rejector. Now, he must prove himself to more than just her because both of their careers are at stake.
Kindle may just prove how much of a squid he truly is at being a functioning adult.
Will everything work out?

Romance Under AquariusRomance Under Aquarius by Danielle Jacks

What a fun romantic adventure this book is! Kasper and Maris remind me of an adult Little Mermaid (not quite so wholesome). Kasper is trying to find a way that will heal his brother’s cancer and comes across Maris, a mermaid. The two of them continue the search for the healing jug with a few misadventures. Maris’ friends try to help her but end up messing up and causing their own ruckus. This book is laugh out loud funny! My family wanted to know what I was I was giggling at. The chemistry between Kasper and Maris was so well-done. It felt so natural. Her flirting with Owen and making Kasper jealous was awesome. The sibling rivalry fun was a nice touch. Pasha and Ryn’s betrayal of Maris and further misadventures seemed just right. I didn’t see that plot twist coming. Perfect! It fit in so smooth. I would have loved to see more of Pasha’s mom’s backstory. It was so intriguing that I had to keep going and couldn’t put it down. I had to know what was coming next. An engaging read that will have you waiting eagerly for the next book in the series. A quick and entertaining read that I recommend for romance lovers.

Holy H*ll this book was smoking hot! I was instantly captivated by True and London’s story. Lonny is a true badass and I love how she easily banters back and forth with True and holds her own. True is hot and always ready, except he can’t commit if his life depended on it. When they first meet and have a scorching fling in the woods, they both didn’t realize the impact that encounter would have on each of them. Fast forward a year and thousands of miles later, and they meet again when Lonny unknowingly starts working for True’s company. Their attraction and addiction to each other is apocalyptic. Throw in a mystery full of danger and unexpected turns, makes this 5 star book a page turner. Be prepared to be up all night reading it! I can’t wait to read the other titles in this series.

The True Garza (Red Cage Book 3) by S. Ann Cole – Review by Dr. Anya Schultz

The True Garza (Red Cage, #3)The True Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The True Garza is about True, a vice president of Red Cage Security Company and London (Lonny), a former agent turned private contractor. Lonny has had a rough year with an assignment gone bad and the death of her father, so she decided to move to LA to live with her sister. However, in LA there is a hot fling she had over a year ago, in her dark time, that she can’t get out of her head, True. Well, she ends up working for his company but wasn’t aware at the beginning because when she knew him he went by a different name. Each had been pining for each other over the last year, however, the biggest problem is True is a big time playboy with commitment issues. The two of them form a really strange, sexual relationship – really an addiction to each other. However, while she is falling for him, he is a commitment phobe, so really where will this go. Will she stay? Will she leave him for a commitment? Do either of them have the willpower to leave this addiction? Only time will tell!

Let me put it this way, I want to go read the first two in the series if it is anything like this one. Where do I begin with all the things I loved about this book? One, I read it in 24 hours! Two, the main characters were amazing. They were playful, tons of banter, and amazing dom-sub smut!! However, Lonny is a badass, takes no shit, defends herself, and is an honest female lead. Granted, she has a submissive weakness for True, but doesn’t everyone have a weakness! While she is addicted to True, she is also very self-aware of that fact, but also stands her ground with him too! True, well you can feel all the angst he is going through over Lonny and I was totally there for it. This was one of my favorite types of books, a good plot with great smut!!

I won’t waste your time by giving a rundown of the whole book, but I will STRONGLY suggest that you check out this author and this book in particular. Even if you haven’t read the others in the series, it is a complete standalone. Lonny is a quick-witted, smart-mouthed, feisty little rebel and I just LOVE her character. This author is a master at setting the scene for all of your senses. You truly feel like you are experiencing the action right along with them. And, oh boy, is there some serious action and delicious smut! It took a bit longer for me to experience the “True Effect”, but it was inevitable for fall for True as well. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and I insist that you start reading STAT!

London meets True its supposed to be a one night fling but ends up being a flaming 7 day and night steamer! She wants more but knows True is not cut out for that and she has baggage of her own. Will they be able to keep away from each other or will the be able to make a relationship work between the two? Such an enjoyable contemporary romance story that was hard to put down. I loved the characters in this book. Levi is all about having fun, partying and having the looks and money to go along with it, but you learn deep down he also has been hurt in is past. Chance encounter Levi meets Kindle….and I could not help but to love her in this story. Kindle is a strong and career driven woman who know what she wants…..but she does not want Levi. When Levi’s father puts Kindle in “charge” of Levi in their law firm things change. There are definite sparks between Kindle and Levi, and I was rooting for them throughout the story. Will Kindle take a chance on Levi? Definitely read and find out!

The thing I loved most about this book is the realistic dialogue. It’s the kind of dialogue I can relate to. I liked that it was straightforward and not full of fluff wording! Read as a standalone, it was easy to get into, realistic, and steamy!

Everyone has known a guy like Levi, and it is nice to see him challenged by someone. Kindle is a good character and the author builds their tension very nicely. I enjoyed their time together and was satisfied with the ending. The jealous interlude serves as a tangle to the ultimate goal, which I understand as a method, but I am glad it didn’t last longer than it did!

I enjoyed this contemporary romance which is book five in the ‘Motto X’ series, but it can be read as a standalone story. Levi Crowe is best known for being a good time, party boy, with plenty of money and a body that women drool over. His weekend ‘black outs’ are legendary and provide a good laugh to everyone, but him. Underneath, Levi is worn out and unhappy, but it’s not until the same women, the one he can’t get out of his head, continuously rejects him, that suddenly Levi wants his life to change. Levi manages to get his life back on track, and is happier, but then, the women who rejected him, Kindle James, comes into his life. When both their careers are at stake Levi has to prove himself, but not only to Kindle. Can he really be a functioning adult though, especially when he attracts the attention of a stalker. This fairly quick read is full of great characters, and a storyline which kept me happily turning the pages. An enjoyable and engaging read, and I’m now keen to read the previous books in this series.

I adored this book! I feel like everyone can relate to string of bad relationships and then guarding your heart to protect it from future disappointment. This author told a wonderful story that was heartfelt and light at the same time. From the outside looking in you truly wanted all the characters to see where they should be, but its not how it works in the book world. Lol

Bree has picked one too many bad men in her life and decides rules are now needed if she will ever find anyone to be happy with. Upon these rules 2 men appear and 1 catches her eye more than the other. As she navigates through what she believes to be the perfect man who checks all the boxes she soon finds that her Mr. Right may not be what she wants and the boy on the sidelines just might be,
This story was cute and I loved all the characters and the dynamic they shared. Its well worth the read and I will definitely pick it up again.

Bree can’t seem to catch a break in the dating world. She’s created her dating criteria list and vows to never deviate from it again. After all, the list is a compilation of those men who have crushed her! She is trying to put herself out there and enjoys playing tennis. While playing, she meets Nate and they become best friends.

Nate is everything on Bree’s “do not date” list and then some. She keeps him friend zoned while dating a couple of other guys. Nate is always there to pick up the pieces though! Bree’s dad sets her up with Scott and she meets him at one of the basketball games she coaches. They totally hit it off and Nate backs away to give them space. However, the reader can sense that he is totally heartbroken!

After a few family get-togethers, dates, out-of-town excursions, Bree is finally starting to see what it is that she wants out of life. Can she ever find her perfect man?

I enjoyed this contemporary romance novel and read it in two sittings. It is a fairly fast-paced read that will keep the reader entertained, always wondering what will happen next. The characters are very likeable and relatable.

This was an enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance with a heartwarming storyline and great characters. Having been burned by a string of jocks before, Bree creates a hard rule-no dating athletes. Bree also comes up with a list of guidelines so that her heart does not get broken again, “As per the rules, coffee meetups don’t count as dates, lunch doesn’t count as a date, there will be no physical displays of affection until after a real date, and no sex until he commits to an exclusive relationship”. When she meets the tall and muscular Nate, he is basically a clone of all the guys that have hurt her before. Then, Steven comes along, and it’s as though Bree has ordered the perfect man, yes he’s muscular, but not too tall, and he’s definitely more mature, and is focused on his career.
When Bree finally gives into her feelings, she can’t deny the chemistry between them, and they are happy as a couple. However, they soon discover that being a couple is more than just the two of them. With family, religion, location, and money all becoming factors in their relationship, the pair need to meet in the middle, but can they? I definitely recommend you read this book to find out! I loved the likeable and relatable Bree and the chemistry between her and Steven sizzled off the page. I was cheering them on hoping they would both get their HEA.

Bree has sworn off dating the “jock” type. She’s looking for someone mature and responsible who wants a long term relationship. Nate, Latvian and a jock, pursues her. Bree continues to brush him aside as just a tennis partner, perhaps a friend, but definitely not dating material. Steven, on the other hand, checks all her boxes. Which man will make the best partner for Bree? Read to find out. I love the characters in this book! I especially enjoy the friendship Bree and Chloe have. This book is a great romantic comedy read that I recommend for anyone interested in a feel-good book.

This easy to read romantic story brought me back to my single, college days. The author did an amazing job balancing relatable heartbreak with the perfect love story, while mixing in just enough doubt. The uncertainty and skepticism throughout the book was realistic for any twenty something who dated and experienced heartbreak. The secondary characters were introduced just enough to allow for further development and spin offs should the author decide to continue this storyline.

Well what’s not to love when one of the main characters has the name “ Kindle” ❣️📕😉

So Levi is more than just what’s in his trousers and his philandering ways he’s quite bright actually but he’s lost his way a bit and I’m proud of his dad for making him work his way up as opposed to having everything handed over on a platter !

So Levi is used to woman falling at his feet so when Kindle doesn’t take kindly to his advance he has a bit of a reality check and even more so when he has to work under her in the company ….

Levi hides behind his hurt and he does mature along the way but I must be honest when I tell you I had a soft spot for him from the start and Kindle’s sure to follow in my footsteps 😉❣️

Kindle , girl I love your name ! I love your sass and heart ! You’re one in a million 😘
