The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely enjoyed this book! I loved the chemistry between the two characters from the moment they met until the end. While I guessed parts of the story (which annoyed me yet I understand that Lauren did not), I found it really well put together. I felt at times that some of the immature/mature behaviors between Mark and Lauren got in the way of the flow even though I understand as a reader why they were built that way. I appreciated the arc their relationship had and I liked the way their outside friendships/relationships played a part in their development, too. I would definitely read other books by this author.

What a great read! While this book is the second in the series it works as a standalone. The plot is movie material and it flows well! Characters were well thought out too! This was a great book, easy to read, couldn’t put down kind of page turner! The author did a stellar job with this one and I will be sure to look for more from her!! Grab it quick, you won’t wanna miss it!

The Groomsman by Marina Hanna was definitely a 5* read. I loved it from the very first chapter.
Adam and Jules got married and of course Lauren and Mark were best friends of the couple and both in the bridal party. Mark and Lauren hooked up the night of the wedding and had one of the best nights ever. A one night stand can never be that when they are both good friends of the couple.
When Mark and Lauren see eachother again at a bar, they cannot help the attraction. They do not talk to eachother but Jules talks to Mark and he says he doesn’t know why he hasn’t called Lauren but he plans to rectify that soon and he does.
Mark and Lauren have fun together for a bit but that’s all it should be…..fun!! Nothing more. Can they keep it at just fun or will one of them get hurt? What about a crazy secret that Mark has managed to keep from Lauren?
This book was definitely a great read and I hope to find more reads like this one from this author soon.

A bachelor and a romantic met at their best friend’s wedding, we all know where this is going. The Groomsman by Marina Hanna is a sexy one night that turned into some more than was expected. Mark and Lauren sure know how to bring the spice and at the same time keep you turning the pages.

As this was only my second book by this author, I was not surprised by how much I liked these characters and the fun drama filled writing.

Book Review: The Groomsman
Author: Marina Hanna
Four Stars
Lauren a bridesmaid and Mark a groomsman. How cliche right? Well this story is your typical story about a bridesmaid and groomsman hooking up and then that was supposed to be the end, correct? But no, Lauren and Mark find themselves drawn to each other and even though they eventually start “dating” Mark often goes silent or has to cancel dates due to “other issues” these issues he never explains to Lauren just says that something comes up.
Lauren, starts suspecting there is another woman. Mark never confirms nor denies any accusations. In this story there is a HUGE lack of communication between the two of them. Mark is wanting to keep his personal life to himself and not include Lauren but Lauren is demanding more due to his cancelling on her and ghosting her.
I was not thrilled with the lack of trust and communication but in the end I think the author gave them enough of a make up session that we find the two of them can make things work.
Rose is a sweetheart and you all will see what a part she plays in this story.

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Groomsman is a great contemporary romance novel by Marina Hanna. This is only the second time that I have read any of this author’s work and I have really enjoyed both books so would not hesitate to read more of her work.
Would it be a real wedding if the bridesmaid and the groomsman didn’t hook-up? Well, Lauren and Mark just had to keep up with wedding traditions as it was the right thing to do. But did they guess that this would be the start of a turbulent ‘relationship’. Yes I put relationship in inverted commas as I’m unsure if this is the right word to describe what happened to Lauren and Mark after their wedding hook-up.
I really enjoyed reading Lauren and Mark’s story although I have to admit that there were many occasions where I wanted to give Mark a good slap and tell him to get his act together. He does redeem himself by the end but he really deserved a good slap a few times.
This story flows really well and the storyline is engaging and pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you entertained right up to the end. The characters are great, not just Lauren and Mark. There is a good cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story, especially Rose who I really adored.
I would definitely recommend reading The Groomsman.

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Groomsman is the second book in the series, but it is a standalone romance. Mark and Lauren have met in passing previously, but don’t spend any real amount of time together until their friends’ wedding where they are both in the wedding party. The chemistry between the two is instant. At first neither are looking for more than a hookup, but that changes.

Mark does not have a lot of time for a relationship, and makes this clear. He did annoy me a bit with being wishy washy and giving mixed signals, but I think he was confused himself. Lauren has been burned in the past, but Mark starts to get through her walls, even with the wishy-washiness and things in his life he won’t talk about.

This book is well-written and the characters have chemistry. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is I had trouble connecting with the characters and therefore had trouble connecting with the story. It is totally a me problem, so give this book a chance anyway!

Hot. Witty. So fun to read. The groomsman is about a woman who, at her best friends wedding, hits it off with her groomsman and has a fantastic evening. Only problem is, it was so good, she actually wants to see him again. And he feels the same. The Groomsman is a fun, entertaining, witty novel that will keep your attention the entire time. Read this book if you like playing hard to get stories, secret lives, and steamy scenes.

Mark a hot shot attorney with a past he doesn’t want to reveal. Lauren an independent woman who doesn’t need nor want to be taken care of. When two meet at a mutual friend’s wedding, where their relationship begins lustful and slowly turns romantic. This book is full of real-life issues and drama that is so easy to relate to! Reading this book brought back lots of memories of my own personal relationship with my husband and was oh so nostalgic for me! 10 out of 10 recommend! I absolutely adored this book! Hot!
The Groomsman is the second book in the Unexpected series but can be read as a stand-alone. It stars another alpha male but he has his own secrets. I really like Marina Hanna’s writing style. There’s no excess drama but enough to keep me hooked. A steamy quick read with a strong storyline, sassy characters and sexy times.

I kinda struggled with this one at times. Mark is a little hard to like. He seems to want a good time and is FIRM about nothing else. So it was tough to get to like him since he did many things I didn’t like. Lauren did not seem to have much backbone. I liked her but it took a while for her to stop letting him run over her. I was glad that she finally got her head on straight.

They meet at Jules and Adam’s wedding. Who we met in the last book. It was nice catching up with their lives. Overall I liked the story and most if the characters.

What can I say other than “OH MY GOD!” wow this book was super hot and steamy. As far as the story goes I really enjoyed that Lauren wasn’t waiting for a man to save her. She stood up for herself and made sure that her concerns were heard and most of the time met. Something about a powerful man in a suit just makes all the ladies come undone. I mean hello have you seen Tom Hiddleston? ANYWAYS the story was cute and to the point which I loved. Would love to read more quick books like this, I do love continued stories however I have a soft spot for short one-book stories where they leave your mind racing for more of the story.

Lauren and Mark Sizzle! Sparks fly every time that Lauren and Mark are in the same room. Their chemistry is undeniable but I really enjoyed watching them move past the physical attraction to an emotional connection. Mark is so adorably awkward as he’s trying to face his deeper feelings and to navigate not just wanting more, but actively pursuing more with Lauren. Rose throws a wrench in their budding relationship but eventually ends up playing an integral part in their love connection. I absolutely adore the ending of this book and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from Marina Hanna.

A Bridesmaid hooking up with one of the Groomsman for one night of fun seems like a simple enough concept right? But what happens when that one night shocks them both with just how amazing it is and neither one of them wants it to be just one night. That is the problem, if you can call off the charts attraction and chemistry a problem, for characters Mark and Lauren in this wonderful book by Marina Hanna.
Mark has never hidden he is not looking for a relationship but he can’t bring himself to stop seeing Lauren, meanwhile Lauren knows Mark is hiding something and wants to confront him but every time they are together their chemistry gets in her way. Can they sort out their mixed emotions and both have what they truly want….you need to read this fun and emotion filled story to find out!

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Groomsman was a great steamy 5 star read.
The steaminess starts right from the beginning. It’s tradition that the maid of honor and the best man hook up at the wedding and these two didn’t disappoint.

Problem is they couldn’t get enough of each other and they wanted more. Will they allow their fears to keep them from exploring more than a physical attraction?

Lauren was great and she was determined to get through Mark’s walls and get what she wants. Mark at times was frustrating but I really liked him as well.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the characters were great. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in, you feel like you’re right there with the characters on their journey. If you’re looking for a great love story, then I highly suggest this one. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

Where to start? This book grabs your attention in the first sentence. Lauren and Mark. Mark and Lauren. Two completely opposite people drawn to each other. You find yourself immersed in their lives and you don’t want to stop reading. I can tell you that I only put this book down twice. Once when the doctor came into the room for my appointment and then again when I had to cook dinner! Other than that I would have loved to not have been interrupted during this read. I was longing for it to continue and wished that it could have been longer. Maybe a book three will be in the works because I tell you what, there is so much more story to be told of Lauren and Mark and of course of Rose. Rose brings a whole new element that could be and should be explored more. Please Ms. Hanna don’t let this be the end of this wonderful couple’s story.

I loved this book so much. The story was so realistic and so very easy to dive into. Loved the plot as well as the characters, it was hooked, and certain pages certainly kept me nose dived into the book haha! I finished this book and could not get over how good it was, it was for sure a must read!

Is the rule of thumb not what happens at weddings stays at weddings? I think this was the plan for Lauren and Mark had, after a wedding they attended, and chemistry was sizzling and they had a heated night (trust me it was a good night for them) and were suppose to part ways, but when you get a taste of something that good how do you really walk away and never look back? I found through out this book and their times of steamy moments together, things keep coming up to push them away, but yet bring them back together. Lauren and Mark were so realistic, and even their personalities were as much!

I loved the plot how things start out as real as things can get, and two people who were vivid humans who keep going back for the one thing they said they did not want, and that was a relationship. As the story develops more, I found more things came to light between them both, and I seriously needed a good bowl of popcorn beside me for the anticipation! Seriously freaking loved this book, and the writing!

This was a first time author read for me, and I freaking loved how the author went about for the development of the story, it was more than well done, and it was amazing in every which way. I was blown away as well as immersed in the story and writing! Defiantly a high recommendation from me!

If only one of these young, hot, wealthy dominant males needed a mortgage and happened to have me as their loan processor.  But since that will never happen I will live vicariously by reading this series instead.  Now we have six of the guys who have found love and I hope we have several more.

I loved the back and forth between Nick and Allie and how they fought the attraction, well she more so than he.  Thankfully love won.

I cannot wait to see which one of the guys falls next and meet the woman who brings him to his knees.

Check Out (Bobbins Sisters Series Book 1) by Debra Parmley – Review by Shea Gilkerson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I truly enjoyed Check Out by Debra Parmley. It felt like I was treating myself to read it.

Betsy is a librarian in her local library. She has some trouble getting along with her family and struggles with her past. Nash is an injured veteran suffering from PTSD from his time in the military – he is new in town, jaded, and mysterious. They are interested in one another, but Betsy thinks it is best to wait to get to know each other better while she awaits a visit from her younger sister, Leeann. Once her sister shows up with news she may have a stalker, we find the catalyst that draws Nash and Betsy to one another.

I’d like to see where the relationship between Nash and Betsy goes, as the book ends pretty abruptly. That being said, this was a good read with characters that drew me in and kept me interested. It is pretty quick to get through, and the author has a 2nd book in the series that extends into a story with Leeann after this ends. I will continue to read Debra Parmley!

Only one-night stands and only at the local club. No strings, no relationships, and no heartbreak. Trigger Warning: If you have ever had to deal with sex trafficking! Holy Moly! I absolutely loved the chemistry between Allie O’Connor and Nick! I love how this book covered sex trafficking for many they do not realize it happens in their own back yard. I love how Allie O’Connor and Nick are the perfect team at saving people. Also, are there really clubs like that in real life? I must be sleeping under a rock. I adore Allie and Lexie friendship. After Allie pass hurt Lexie defiantly called her out and made sure she gave nick a fair chance. I didn’t expect the ending at all to this book. It’s literally a rollercoaster ride of emotions! From being Allie O’connors protector even when she had the worse attitude, to being her sexual desire to ending up lovers. I want more of this story! Can we get a Lexie and Allie story about what happens next with Nick and Sheldon! I need and want more! I binge read this in less than 24 hours! Mark and Lauren are two people on different paths in life until their best friends get married and they find themselves spending the night together. Of course, they THINK that it’s a one and done kind of thing until they find themselves drawn to each other again and again and – you got it- again. In the turmoil of them trying to figure out how to work together to both achieve a relationship that will work, secrets come to light on both sides. When push comes to shove, they have to decide if they will be able to work through their pasts in order to make a life together.

I feel like Ms. Hanna did a wonderful job of writing Mark and Lauren’s story in finding love. I was drawn to the Lauren and her girl friends’ friendship. While I could not particularly identify with Lauren, I have many friends who, I imagine, could. Mark was- what I think- a typical man who has been on his own for too long, playing by his own rules would be like. I enjoyed getting to see his world get rocked by Lauren.

Absolutely, an adult read!

This is book 6 in the Billionaire Bodyguards series. This is the first book I have read, it can easily be read as a standalone book…. but it does intrigue me to go back and read the others to find out how we got to where we are.
This is Nick and Allie’s story. Allie is a nurse who from the start puts her patients and fellow staff first. An accident has her rushing to the hospital leaving a dinner party of her best friends. Nick does security and after meeting previously, has not been able to get Allie out of his thoughts. He personally decides to take over Allie’s security detail. Will Allie let him protect her? Will Nick be able to protect her from the dangers that are lurking?
I feel like I bonded with the characters in the book. The writing flows in a way that you don’t realize how long you have been immersed in their world.

I really enjoyed this hot and steamy romance. The characters were really likeable and like.most people both hold secrets that they don’t willingly want to share.

Mark and Lauren meet at their best friends wedding and typical to tradition the bridesmaid gets off with the groomsman. For both of them it was just supposed to be a one night stand, neither of them expected their worlds to be shook to the core.

Meeting again they both agree to no commitments. However that turns out to be harder than either of them expected. So their feelings for each other grow they find it hard to draw the line between no strings fun and wanting more.

Lauren has trust issues which makes it harder for her to trust Mark so when he’s being hot and cold with her it sends her mind into a paranoid turmoil but does she have a right to be paranoid?

Mark has never let his guard down with anyone do finding that Lauren is breaking down his walls freaks him out. Can he let Lauren completely in and let her know the secret he’s hiding or will they end up breaking each others hearts as their secrets reveal themselves?

A great romance is portrayed in “The Groomsman”. This is a story about an unavailable, lifelong bachelor, Mark, and a hopeless romantic, Lauren. They meet at a wedding, like so many singles, but instantly have a strong connection. Only problem is Mark is emotionally unavailable and only like to have sex with women, but never a relationship. Lauren has him questioning all of those original insights he thinks he has. What he doesn’t tell her is that there is another person in his life that takes precedent. Lauren is a great character and while always wanting to find love, she is patient, genuine, and willing to work for what she wants. I loved watching her grow as a character and feeling pleased in the end with how she handled herself. Mark, however, over complicates everything and you kind of want to shake him into reality. However, in the end, the two characters find their way, flaws and all, in order to find everlasting happiness. I really enjoyed their love story and watching the ups and downs so many of us have dealt with in our lives. I think they could also teach us a few things about love: it is worth waiting, don’t over complicate an existing feeling, and if you stay true to yourself, but learn from your mistakes, anything can happen!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 6, but great on its own, loved the push and pull bt MCs.

4.5 stars rounded up. Book 6 in the Billionaire Bodyguards series, builds upon previous books but can be read as a standalone. Tenacious was a quick-ish read romance, taking about 4 hours to read.

I enjoyed the relationship dynamic between Allie and Nick. There is a history that we saw built up throughout some of the other books in the series but it is explained well enough that I don’t feel you HAVE to have read the others to follow along, of course reading them is well worth the time as the series just keeps getting better and better.

Here we see Allie and Nick as the Main Characters in a will they or won’t they scenario. Allie is a headstrong nurse who will do anything for her patients and to help others, and Nick is a bodyguard simply trying to protect Allie from the dangers that are swarming around her. Nick is not the best at communication, at times keeping things from Aliie when he thinks he knows best, which of course leads to drama filled moments, but those instances didn’t have me pulling out my hair crying out “WHY?!”

I enjoyed getting to see some old faces and catching up on what’s going on. And of course, we have the overarching themes of the “good guy” mafia connections and fighting trafficking that have been prevalent throughout the series. Content Warning for depiction of trafficking and abusers, as well as shooting and other “good v evil” battles.

Tenacious is the sixth book in this titillating Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. And it did not disappoint.
Nick is a part of an elite security team and definitely knows how to get what he wants.
Allie is a charge nurse and doesn’t have time or the want for a relationship.
When they are around each other, they can’t hide the feelings that surface.
I love how Nick’s dominance is just what Allie needs to start to trust and maybe they’ll be able to move past the attraction to what they really want… each other!

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which had me hooked from page one. Lauren and Mark meet at their friends wedding and are instantly attracted to one another and they share a very hot, steamy, and passionate night together. It was just meant to be one night as Mark doesn’t have time in his life for romance and a relationship, and Lauren is still getting over her last boyfriend being married. However, they both find themselves drawn to each other and discover that it’s not just about the sex. What they feel might also be more than lust, it may even be love, but is someone is going to get their heart broken. The instant chemistry between Mark and Lauren literally sizzled off the page and led to very steamy scenes between the couple. Both characters are realistic and relatable and I loved how their relationship grew throughout the story. The storyline flowed well and the plot had me happily turning the pages wanting to find out if they got their HEA or not.
