Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After removing his Do Not Resuscitate Order, Will spends twelve days in the intensive care unit on a ventilator. Dr. Evans tells Tory that Will has chosen her to be his power of attorney for all healthcare decisions. When he recovers from the pneumonia, Will chooses to go through treatment. As the chemotherapy begins to make Will sick, he has a seizure and Tory has a decision to make. She agrees to allow the doctors to start dialysis, unsure if she made the right decision, as Will continues to be in pain. Three days after chemotherapy ends, Will receives his stem cell transplant. After several blood transfusions, he is finally released to go home as his cancer is in remission

All joy ends, as Will becomes severely anemic and cannot breathe overnight. Tory rushes him to the emergency room, and he is given another blood transfusion. Angry with the case manager, Tory becomes irate about the delay in service for Will. The following day, Will goes home and manages to do well until the day after Thanksgiving. Tory finds him clutching his stomach and violently vomiting. Rushing him to the emergency room, Will suffers from a panic attack and goes unconscious. Did the cancer return? Dr. Evans returns to give the diagnosis of graft versus host. This time, Will has to spend several weeks in the hospital until he is released to go home before Christmas.

During the entire course of Will’s treatments and multiple hospital trips, the love that the couple has continues to grow. The most endearing part of the love is the paper flowers Will makes for Tory every Tuesday. On Christmas, he gave her a heart necklace made with his birthstone. A true romantic at heart, I think any woman would have loved to be with Will.

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports RomanceBlindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance by T. Christensen

Friends, loves, enemies – the path friendship can take when we are teens is twisted. In this book, a girl by the name of Kirsa is friends with the boy next door, Brock. They are inseparable, until one day the “third wheel” of a friend, Victoria, is caught in a compromising position with Brock. Teenage hormones got the best of those two and was the first factor towards ruining the friendship between Kirsa and Brock. A lack of communication snowballs into the two becoming enemies throughout all of high school. However, it wasn’t just being enemies, Brock vowed to make Kirsa’s life a living hell for all of high school and he didn’t disappoint. In the end, the truth always comes out, it just sucks that so many lives had to be cut down and ruined to get there.

Well, this book produced many different feelings for me in relation to my past and present. As a mother of a teen, there were parts of this book that were scary. No one person should have to go through what Kirsa had to deal with. My heart felt angry, hurt, and just wanted to reach out and hug her. However, thinking of Brock’s position, I remember being a teen and not knowing who was trustworthy, my real friend, wanted something from me, etc. All in all, I thought I enjoyed this book.
While the content hit close to home, it also was realistic and provided a lot of teaching moments: communication is key to any relationship – that means listening too; everyone needs a friend and is entitled to one; and there will always be someone who rises above the bullies and takes a stand. My most favorite lesson in this book, however, is you are stronger than you think. When things seem like they can’t get worse, if you keep going, believe that you are worth it, those thoughts can lead you to get through anything, and in return you might just come out on top.

“Whatever Tomorrow Brings” by Amy Argent is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet. After reading the first book, I was so eager to learn what happens next for Will and Tori, as he decides to fight the cancer. While the first book focused more on building their friendship, this one had many heavily detailed romance scenes. This story brought me to tears many times. Will overcame so many trials, both physically and emotionally, and Tori was by his side the entire time. Their relationship is overwhelmingly beautiful!

Welcome to life as we all know it. Will was not fighting for his life. He had all but given in to the cancer that just keeps coming back. So much so he signed a DNR.Tori does not know how much she really loves Will, until the day he told her to leave and not come back. What she does next is beautiful. Then there is Jenny, the nurse who is friends with both Will and Tori. Her job is to read between the lines and give hope when needed. This book has so many emotions going on, that a person can get lost in reading, and nothing gets done. Yes this is an end of your seat Romance that will capture your heart, break your heart and fulfill your heart all in one story. This is part 2 of this duet, so please read book 1 to become caught up. This author does not disappoint. Her story is complete from beginning to end. Her characters are people we all can relate to. Just a beautiful Romance that started with the big C word.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase #3) by Anna Paige

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It’s the third book in the Thrill of the Chase Series. Jared and Madison are cute and I was very happy to read their story.

Jared is after one thing and one thing only, getting the best care for his father. So when the new caregiver is being a pain he goes in person to confront her. Then he’s grateful for her and asks her to be his father’s private nurse. The quote I chose for Jared is: “That’s the first s-s-song I ever played. I l-l-learned it for my f-f-father because I knew it w-w-was his favorite. Because he w-w-was my hero. S-s -still is.”

Madison loves her job and gets attached to her patients. She gets protective of Mr. Christopher and when things go south she thinks of his safety before her own. She can’t help but fall for Mr. Christopher’s son although she knows she shouldn’t. The quote I chose for Madison is: “Sounds good. Mr. Christopher, you sit tight for just a minute. Cookie will be right back, okay? Ethan is going to find a good station on the radio. He’s not from around here, so maybe you can help.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

A Cold Creek Christmas: A single dad, small town holiday novella (Reigning Hearts #5) by K.G. Fletcher

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to keep her readers entertained. This book is amazing and had me hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down.

Amber hasn’t ever had a Christmas that she has liked. When she meets Giovanni he opens her eyes to Christmas. The thought of him having a daughter scares her, but it doesn’t stop her. The quote I chose for Amber is: “He’s making breakfast? Of course he is. He’s a chef, Amber. Act surprised and enjoy every delicious morsel. And for God’s sake, don’t even suggest mimosas. Can’t have another repeat of last night.”

Giovanni is a single dad who is now living with his grandmother. He’s taking over her shop and needs to live up to her name. When he learns Amber’s story he vows to make it the best first Christmas she’s ever had. The quote I chose for Giovanni is: “I want to kiss you, Amber. I’ve wanted to kiss your pouty mouth all evening.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Well, this is my second book from this author, and I’m in love.
The story between Will and Tori is wonderful and heartfelt. If you have not read the first book you need to go back and get the details!
Will is fighting cancer and fighting hard. Tori walks in and brings light to the darkest hospital room! But after finding out Will revoked his DNR, there was a fighting chance for him! Also, a long road of recovery. But with Tori by his side and his caring friends and family, there is nothing they can’t do!
I felt like I was right there in the hospital room with them. The author is on point and this two book series will not be the last for me.

My high school experience is nothing like I’d imagined.
Brock had been my best friend since we were four years old. We were inseparable. Or so I thought. In our early teens, our friendship started to feel like something more, something I desperately wanted.
Then I was betrayed by him, along with Victoria, the girl who had made our duo into a trio. Blindsided by the accusation that I was a traitor. Bullied and ostracized for three years, all for something I never did.
All I want to do is keep my head down and make it through senior year. I miss Brock every day, even though he has made my high school days miserable. Unlike him, I can’t just forget our past, or the bond we had. And even after three years, no guy has ever made me feel the way he did.
When Rylan arrives and becomes the new star of the football team, I finally find myself with a friend and ally. Through him, I see glimpses of my former best friend. The more I soften toward Brock, the more confused I become. My head is screaming at me to stay away, but my heart still wants him. Which one do I trust? And will I live to regret it?

I honestly can’t remember the last time I connected with a book as much as I have with this one. As someone who has watched someone suffer with cancer, this book tore at my heartstrings in ways I didn’t even know were possible. There were moments I knew exactly how Tori was feeling, making me connect with her on an extremely deep level, even if the person she was watching was her boyfriend and mine was my grandma. As with the previous book, the writer does an amazing job at describing to the reader exactly what it feels like to go through cancer, but in this book, every turn for the worse that Will takes makes my heart stop, hoping against hope he will survive his ordeal.

This book has left me with a newfound respect for every person who has ever gone through cancer, as well as more sympathy for those that have to support them through it. As much as she made me cry, I am looking forward to reading more books by this author, and am sad that the story of Will and Tori has come to a close.

An emotional must read. I knew I had to read this one after reading the first book. I recommend reading Come Back Tomorrow before diving into this one. This book is the continuation of Will and Tori’s relationship and Will’s fight to beat cancer. In this book there are definitely challenges as Will fights for his life and Tori is there with him and for him. Although there is sadness and heartache in this story there is also hope, love, romance, friendship, and family. I found myself completely invested in their lives and had to read this book in one sitting. I am so glad that we got to see how Will and Tori’s relationship grew as they lived outside of the hospital. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and it was just as good as the first! This book continues on the story of Will & Tori. The topic of cancer, sickness, and death is never easy to read or discuss, but it’s done so well in this series. I found myself genuinely rooting for Will & Tori to overcome his sickness. This book is well written, entertaining, and will definitely pull on your heart strings!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tori and Will are back in this tale of one terminal cancer patient and the woman who started out wanting to be his friend and turned into something much more. When she first walked into his room, all she saw were glorious and intense green eyes both challenging her to stay and telling her to leave all at the same time, there is vulnerability and strength, loneliness and determination there, but he has had nobody to visit him, this young man who is suffering all alone. Tori decides at that moment that she will be there for him and asks him whether she could “come back tomorrow?” and she did, everyday and each day she spent with him, each day she fell deeper in love.

What she didn’t want to think about is that Will was going to die, but she knew she was in too deep regardless, but the day she was going to tell him that is the day that she never expected. As Will is struggling to breathe as the pneumonia takes its toll, but between breaths he is trying to talk to Tori, saying that “He is scared and that he feels like he is falling apart and that he has nothing to hold on to to get him though.” this is where Tori says he can hold onto her, but he replies that “He wants her to leave and not to come back tomorrow, in fact not to come back at all!”

This absolutely destroys Tori, but she doesn’t realise just how much until she hears the alarm of “Code blue, code blue in room four-twelve” and she knows then that it might just be too late to tell him how she feels. However, when her best friend Jenny comes into the room and tells her that he hasn’t died and that in fact he has chosen to live, chosen to love, chosen to fight and chosen Tori over death, all she feels is relief that she has a second chance and this time, she isn’t going to let it pass her by and she will fight by his side, as he fights everything else. This is an emotional rollercoaster which will wrench you by the heartstrings throughout as the fight continues in this epic journey of uncertain tomorrows.

This is book two of the series. You should definitely read book one before diving into this book. Not only did I need to find out how the story was going to go for Will and Tori, I did genuinely enjoy book one and of course wanted to read book two to finish out the story.

This book is well written and packed with so so many emotions. Tori and Will finally get to start their journey together. It goes without saying they have had and still have quite a bit to overcome together. It was hard to put this book down but boy the emotional roller coaster was worth it!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 2) by Amy Argent – Review by: Jennifer Bartholomae

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is the continuation of Will and Tori’s story. This book continues the emotional rollercoaster ride that was started in book one. Will and Tori start out on the journey we all hoped would come to fruition after the first book, trying to build a life together post-cancer. The story carries the same depth and emotional wisdom that the first did and still draws together a truly compelling story that keeps you turning the pages to the very end.

I feel like some parts of the book lacked some grounding in reality, which I understand given that this is a fairytale scenario romance life. The author had shown such depth with her writing in the first book that I thought maybe she wouldn’t fade as far down the fairytale path as she did in this one. Let’s face it, no matter how much you love someone and what kind of situation you are in, you aren’t going to go from sick in the hospital to living together full-time without some bumps along the road. I would have appreciated seeing more conflict between Tori and Will as they settled in together, rather than the automatic perfection that the book drew.

Also, the sex scenes. I’m not a prude and I hate to harp on this because I know it is to be expected in a romance novel, I just felt it overtook the story at some points. We get it, they love each other and are happy to be together, but I felt like every two or three pages we were back in bed with them, or in the shower, or on the floor…the storyline was built well enough that readers could have gotten the message and been engaged until the very end without spending hours discussing all of their passion. Overall, I still liked the book and would be interested in reading more of the author’s work, this one, while just as well written and emotional, didn’t grab me the same way the first one did.

A fantastic five-star read. This is number two in the Embrace tomorrow duet and it concludes after the biggest emotional roller-coaster of the year. Grab the tissues and wine, and if you haven’t read the first part, pick it up then sink into these great stories as you will not be sorry. I have cried and sobbed while reading these but I am so glad I read them, as they have changed me, I am hoping for the better, but they have certainly changed me.

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 1) by Anise Storm

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Another amazing book by this amazing author. Conveniently Yours is a great read.

Caspian is a playboy and he isn’t afraid to show it. When he is told by his uncle that he is to find a girl and stay married for a year that changes things. Then he meets Paisley and they both may get what they want. The quote I chose for Caspian is: “I’m not in the market for anything more than sex. I don’t like attachments, even brief ones, so this is for the best.”

Paisley is freaking out when she gets a call saying her mom has been moved. She isn’t doing well with money and is about to be kicked out of her place. She needs money and Caspian is more than willing. The quote I chose for Paisley is: “I’m not sure I understand. Has her condition gotten worse?”

This is the second book I’ve read by the author. Luke is another amazing book. So far the Default Distraction Series is amazing. I will be on the lookout for more.

Luke has had it hard his entire life. In comes Nikki and she changes everything. Luke is nostalgic and thinks of someone from the past. The quote I chose for Luke is: “She could have had it with us.”

Nikki is one of the few who get to get close to members of Default Distraction. When she catches Luke’s eye things change. The quote I chose for Nikki is: “Would it work if I said I wasn’t hungry?”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This author has done such a great job creating characters and situations that are real and believable. This story is extremely well written and the characters are well developed and have so much depth to them. I loved how everyone pulled together for Will and I admired the supportive strength of Tori. I was SO excited to be able to continue the story of Will and Tori! I was so emotionally invested in their story in the first book. This book was equally emotional, spinning me in every direction. I laughed, I cried, I could not stop reading. Will is battling cancer, and after wanting to give up, he has finally decided he wants to fight for his life. Tori is his girlfriend who wants nothing more than to take care of Will in hopes of spending their lives together. This book gives the raw emotional journey of battling cancer. You get insight from both points of view that send your emotions soaring. Have your tissues ready because you will need them right to the very end!

A beautiful romance between Will, a man fighting cancer, and Tori, who loves him more than anything. The book was a bit hard to read for me since both my parents passed due to cancer. However, the love Will and Tori shared in this book kept so much hope in my heart. The author did an amazing job with the story and how cancer can decimate a person’s body. The characters in the book are very relatable and genuine. I really enjoyed reading the book and finding hope along with the characters as I read.
I did not read the first book but I was able to figure out the characters and the basic reasons why Will sent Tori away but that their love for each other made them hope.

What a fantastic sequel! The first book left me wondering what would happen with Tori and Will. This book takes right back up where the first book left off and more than answers all of the questions I had. It was heart wrenching to follow their story and to read whether or not Will would beat cancer. If I thought I needed the tissues for the first book in this duet then I was wrong because I needed a bucket load more for this book. Oh my gosh what an emotional roller-coaster I have been on with Tori and Will. I think the author did an absolutely amazing job with this story, to take something that has an impact on so many people and to write about it so beautifully, so raw and truthful is really something special. I felt like I was right there with Tori and Will from the very beginning until the very last word of this book. I laughed with them, I cried with them and I felt every single emotion that they did. Both books have been a pleasure to read and I will definitely be looking forward to more from this author again in the future.
