Is This Me? (Being Me #1)Is This Me? by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Is this me by Tricia Copeland was a story of romance. There was college love and having new experiences that were just lovely to read.

A girl named Amanda Avery who just started college and didn’t know what hit her when she got there. Never believe she would be the girl that would fall in love her first year in college. Her gpa and scholarship was all she thought she cared about. Parties were the last thing on her list but her best friend manage to drag her to one and her college life was never the same since.

This was a slow love story. It was so Interesting to read and not knowing what to expect. This is the first book in the series of Being Me series and can’t wait to see what the other books have in store.

Seb and Mae – everything I didn’t know I was looking for. I’ve loved this series and knew I would enjoy this book. But I was unprepared for how deeply this couple connected to my heart. What an emotional and intense romance this was. The characters were beautifully flawed and the backdrop was just a perfect fit. I devoured this book and cannot wait to go back and read it again. Loved it!

At All (Adams Brothers Book 3) by Mindy McKinley is my favorite of the series! The book is about the youngest Adams brother Sebastian, a Jazz musician who plays the tenor saxophone but is taking. Break from touring with his band due to alcohol and other addiction issues. Maelie Barre is a accomplished violinist and a daughter of a world famous violinist. Unlike her father, she loves teaching the violin to young students more than performing Seb and Mae meet in a music store where they both happen to teach. Seb is new to teaching and isn’t prepared to teach at all. What he ends up doing is frustrating Mae when she is teaching by playing his sax too loudly in the classroom next to hers. Will their love of music pull them together or split them apart?

I loved reading the book At All (The Adams Brothers Book 3) by Mindy McKinley. It is a wonderful romance story by an author whose stories and writing have never disappointed me. I loved the characters of Maelie Barre and Sebastian Adams. There is a strong attraction between them. What does their future hold? Read this book to find out. I loved the bantering back and forth between the characters. The story is well-written and kept my attention until the final page. The author makes the story and the characters come alive. This is a book that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. Don’t miss out on a romantic, entertaining, and intriguing story. I highly recommend it,

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Coyote Summer by Laura Koerber. This book is very emotional and could have some emotional impact on some. Its the story of Ben who is a very wealthy family so he attends a very wealthy private school where you are meant to become a very wealthy successful adult. During the summer after graduation he attends a party where everyone is drinking and doing drugs. Ben is very insecure so he falls right in line with all the partying. He meets a girl named Claire and talks to her most of the evening when he goes to find her to ask her a question he finds her passed out on the bed with several of his friends raping her. He locks the door and flees which ends up haunting him still 40 years later. Finding out that Claire has never married makes him feel even worse. Could he have changed that by helping her that night. Where his friends really that shallow and horrible that they think they could treat people anyway they want? Sometimes privilege is not all its cracked up to be. Even though he wasn’t the one who attacked Claire he is still reeling from that night. Wonderful coming of age story but could have triggers.

At All (Adams Brothers, #3)At All by Mindy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

At All is the 3rd book in the Adams Brothers series by Mindy McKinley. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone. As this is such a great series I would recommend that you read all 3 books, so it would make sense to then read them in order so as not to create spoilers. Each book contains the story of one of the Adams brothers. Having read the first 2, I could not wait to read Sebastian’s story as he seemed to be such a tortured soul.
I absolutely adored Sebastian and Maelie’s story. Tenor saxophone player Sebastian has been thrown out of his band due to his problems with alcohol and women. He’s to spend 6 months sober and celibate before the band will allow him back in. Teaching saxophone during his 6 month sabbatical Sebastian meets fellow teacher, violinist Maelie Barre who has demons of her own to deal with.
Mindy McKinley has written a very entertaining book. I loved the storyline and Sebastian and Maelie provided so many laughs and amusing situations which made this book a pleasure to read. It’s not all fun and games though and the path to true love never runs smooth and this story is not without it’s trials and tribulations for the couple.
I also adored catching up with the couples from the first to books in the series and getting updates in their lives. My only issue with this series is that the boy’s mother didn’t have more than 3 sons as I’d really love to read more from this amazing family.

Coyote Summer by Laura Koerber – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

Coyote SummerCoyote Summer by Laura Koerber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the story of a summer, a summer unlike any other in Ben O’Rourke’s life and one which will change his life forever and one which is brought back to him while he makes a phone call 36 years after it occurred. Ben is the typical white prep school privileged boy who has gotten into an Ivy League College and is in a group of friends who are the same and made to grow up and live lives like their privileged parents

It is the summer of 1983 and Ben has just graduated from high school and is going to parties with his friend Clint and the rest of the guys he hangs out with, but this one particular party, Ben has been getting stoned and drunk, he talks to people, one girl in particular, Claire talks to him longer than most, so while searching for her to tell him where the bathroom is, he accidentally falls upon something which is as distasteful to him as anything could be, but in his current state is nothing that he can do anything to help the girl involved, apart from to lock a door and hope for the best. After attending mass and trying unsuccessfully to concentrate on it, Ben decides to call his sister when he is alone in the house and ask for advice about the situation he cannot stop thinking about, but he is basically told to forget it ever happened and move on with his life, but when he finds out that it is Claire, he is even more disgusted with those involved.

As the days move ahead and graduation and homecoming are looming, thoughts turn to that and the holiday to Europe he is going on with his family, but Ben is still trying to avoid the girl, especially when their schools are collaborating on the school events and when they are both over, Ben, Clint and their friends head to another wild party, but when Clint leaves him on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere after to make his own way home. As he is trying to walk around, he experiences some unusual things and blames the things he sees on all the drink and drugs he consumed at the party, fortunately, he is saved from walking any further when he is picked up by two siblings, Puppy and her brother in a beaten up old truck, it turns out he was trespassing on their land, so he apologises and offers to pay for the petrol they used to take him home.

The next time he talks to Clint, it turns out that he wants to go and buy some flowers for his mum, so he agrees to go and so they go out of town to get them and it turns out that the girl who picked him up works their and the way Clint behaves around her is awful, makes Ben come to the realisation that maybe it isn’t a good thing to be friends with Clint if he treats him and others in that way. It is after this that Ben decides not to go on holiday with his family and that he needs the time to become used to being on his own instead, they aren’t happy about it but they agree and this is where Ben’s real summer starts.

This coming of age romance is a whirlwind of emotions and experiences which are well worth reading as you experience everything with Ben and relive the summer which changed his life.

This is a full length novel. In this book you will find a little bit of music mixed with a whole lot of romance. I recommend you read the series in order. That way you will be caught up and take off with At All.

Maelie Barre is trying to make a name for herself. Music is her passion, but she must do this on her own. It is hard having a father who is famous in the music field. Nonetheless, she is determined to go places on her own. Teaching is also a passion her father will never understand. In walks the most handsome man she has ever seen. Music Maelie? Sebastian is a jazz player who has gotten himself into trouble with his band. Forced to take a break and get his life under control. He steps into the music studio as a Jazz instructor. No more partying for him. He must get back on track if he plans to join back up with his band. Two complete opposite people teaching two different instruments, play two different genres. Mindy McKinley has done it again. This the third story for the Adams Brothers. What a romantic rollercoaster you are about to take. Well written, fast paced and keeps you reading until the very end. This was an interesting coming of age story. It is written from a first person point of view and we follow Ben through his journey from leaving school to university and life beyond.

There is an event that happens just before he graduates which leaves him reeling and feeling guilt and remorse. He finds a young girl naked on the bed at a party and it seems she has been raped by several of the party goers.

Because of his response or lack of response he spends his life feeling guilt for his lack of action. And a promise he makes that summer comes back to haunt him.

The story twists and turns but it all revolves around that experience and how it made him feel and react. It was interesting to read the story from a witness to the crime and seeing how it affected him instead of just being the view of the victim and criminal.

Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry (The Infinite Love Series, Book 1)Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry by Kira Adams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Learning to Live by Kira Adams is book one of the Infinite Love series.

I could not get enough of this book! I read it in one sitting and definitely wasn’t expecting it to turn out the way it did. I couldn’t stop reading until I knew what was going to happen! Ciera is just trying to make it through each day. She has to deal with bullies and mean pranks but she just had to get through the days. Topher is accustomed to living life a certain way. He didn’t really care too much about anyone other than himself. All it took was one look at Ciera after a little shopping trip with Madalynne and Topher is intrigued. Ciera took everything Topher thought and flipped it on its head. Ciera thought for sure she’d have to rely on herself to make it through her senior year. She had no idea she really needed Topher.

This book had so many emotions. I found myself in tears more than once! So heart breaking but there were some cute moments between Topher and Ciera. He turned out better than I had expected. His character definitely grows on you. I can’t wait to read more!

At All is the third book in the Adam Brothers series by Mindy McKinley. This is my favourite of the series, so far- which took me by surprise, because having met Sebastian previously I wasn’t sure I was going like him at all. This is an enemies to lovers contemporary romance- with drama, music, tension, steam, and emotion .
This is Sebastian (Seb) and Maelie’s story. Seb’s bad choices have resulted in his forced time away from the band. He’ll need to prove he’s recovered, before he’ll be allowed back. He decides to give lessons as a way of filling in time and keep him connected to music. He thinks it will be a breeze. Bet reality proves him wrong. Add Maelie to the mix, with her own complications- and this story had me avidly reading to find out how everything would play out.
A wonderful addition to the series!

Thank you, Mindy McKinley!

Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry is the first book in the Infinite Love series by Kira Adams. I was so not ready for the emotional walloping that comes with this book. This is both a heartbreaking and touching love story- bringing up a myriad of emotions as I followed the characters through all their ups and downs.
I loved Ciera and really felt for everything she went through. I wasn’t so keen on Topher at the beginning- but he did win me over after a while- much to my surprise. There is a sweetness to their story too- which I wasn’t expecting either. But that ending- no words- sooo many tears. GAH!
I really don’t want to go into the story and give anything away which would ruin it for you. But if you love a heart-wrenching and emotional reads- then this is definitely the book for you.

Thank you, Kira Adams!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow…that was quite a ride. I am glad I didn’t know much about this book before going into it because it made for a great read. I kept turning the pages and reading through until I reached the end in one sitting.

Jason and Drew are brothers that are both part of the band Razes Hell. Ellie has known Jason and Drew for years and is part of the glue that holds the brothers together. For publicity, their manage has had them playing on a brotherly feud that seems to become more truth than fiction as time wears on. When Ellie becomes the center of the feud, there may be no going back to the way things were. A secret held for a best friend may be the relationship ender that keeps the three apart forever. Is there any way to come back from that? (You’ll have to read to find out)

I really did enjoy the entire story. I could feel Ellie’s heart being tugged in different directions as the story progressed and my heart broke right along with hers. The ending was definitely worth the wait. And I found myself really enjoying Ellie’s sister’s character. Overall, a great book!

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. I was not ready for the emotional roller coaster ride I was taken on with this story.

From the very first chapter I felt such strong emotions, from anger, hatred, sadness, empathy, etc. I felt it all and it didn’t let up until I reached the very end. The amount of tears I shed should probably be embarrassing but I couldn’t help it. This author wrote with so much detail that I was able to connect with the characters on such a deep level. This story felt so real, it was as if I was really experiencing this story in real life, and that is a true testament to this author’s writing ability and talent.

It’s not every day that you read a book as great as this one. This was my first book by this author but it will not be my last. I will be diving into every single one of her books ASAP.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a life changing read, one that will leave you in tears, absolutely shredded but coming out on the other side with a different outlook on life. This is not a book that should be missed.

The dynamic between the three of them has been so well crafted. You can feel the connection they all share right from the start and it only seems to grow as the book goes on.
The author really does lead you on a journey. You go into this book thinking it is going to be one thing but the author makes sure that it isn’t quite as simple as that. Learning to Live is book one in the Infinite Love series by Kira Adams. It is an enemy to lovers story and one that sounded intriguing and attention grabbing right from the get go. Learning this new to me author’s writing style was a rewarding experience. I love to read new and exciting authors that breathe some new life and personality into the romance genre. Kira Adams’ characters were colourful, stimulating, interesting and vulnerable. Ciera was a woman who did not realise her worth and capabilities. She learns a lot about herself and turns into a confident, self assured woman. Topher is a character that you warm up to gradually, and needs Ciera to help him realise you catch more flies with honey, so to speak. From bad boy to lovable lad, their personalities develop and they became a couple who I absolutely adored. The story was written with outstanding high quality and it is always apparent when the author puts everything into delivering a compelling and emotional read. A 5 star effort.

Total Page-Turner!! Is This Me? is the first book in the Being Me series by Tricia Copeland. Set as a College/New Adult setting, Amanda is starting her freshman year in college. She thought she had it all planned until life sent her a curve ball. Her friend decides that she is going to attend her first college fraternity party. There she meets Doug, who of course, is all wrong for her. Thankfully that doesn’t amount to much until one day she becomes injured and needs the help of her friends and this guys is here to help. What will happen? You’ll have to read to find out. The characters in this book are really great! I loved reading about Amanda and the choices leading her into adulthood. This book is great for anyone but for those that are starting college, this is an excellent book. You will enter a rollercoaster of emotions and hard decisions. You will definitely not want to put this book down and want to read more afterward. I, myself cannot wait to read the book in the series to see how Amanda’s life has progressed!

Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry (The Infinite Love Series, #1) by Kira Adams

Adams has made my heart break with this story. Learning to Live is an amazing tear-jerker. It’s a great read and I can’t wait for the next one.

Ciera is in her senior year and has a brain mass. No one outside her mom knows she’s dying. Oregon is the one state where she can assist suicide. She’s chosen a date and falls in love. The quote I chose for Ciera is: “You don’t care what anyone thinks anymore. Your reputation is the least of your worries.”

Topher is the jock popular guy who picks on others. When he finds that his girlfriend is sneaking around with his best friend things change. He knows Ciera and he’s picked on her. When she seizes in front of him he panics. The quote I chose for Topher is: “Are we really going to play the what-if game? What if Sophia hadn’t slept with Joe? What if my dad wasn’t gay? It doesn’t f**king matter because it’s not real. I can’t take back the sh***y things I did to you, but I can be a better person. I can’t explain the way you make me feel, but I can tell you I’ve never felt more alive in my entire life than when I’m with you.”

Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.
