Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the Utah chapter of the Satan Devil’s MC. I’ve read several of these books and I have loved everyone of them. They are always full of action, danger and romance and the bond between the brothers is so strong.

In this book we get to see Stormy’s story. After he appeared in a previous book his character is not a very likeable one and I went into this book wanting to hate him.

However going through his life you realise what happened to make him become the man he is today.

After Stormy disappears from the club he returns with a bang. He literally crashes into the club. After being taken to hospital in  coma the rest of the club members try to figure out what happened. Where did Stormy go? Who would want to beat him almost to death? Is it something from his past? Or something to do with the club? There are so many questions and no answers.

Add to this story a love interest for Stormy in the shape of Cat who is a strong, independent woman. Can they work together and build each others trust? Can Stormy keep her safe and in doing so keep himself alive?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. This is a well developed story that has characters that are unique and creative. I had no problems connecting with them as they brought the story to life. The story is fast paced and engaging. This is a story about Joel and Em. Joel is so focused on his business that he just doesn’t do relationships. But when one of his biggest client asks him to meet his daughter, he never expects to find Em. She is determined to finish school and start her business. What will fate have in store for these two? First impressions are important but will Joel convince Em there is more to his feelings than what she thinks? They made great characters that I just enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and so was really looking forward to picking up book 2 and I definitely wasn’t left disappointed. I really love the authors engaging writing style and the plot for the story was great. I found the characters really interesting – I thought I was going to love Gabi but I id struggle to understand her at times but Mason was unexpected for me and I really liked him. I think there is one thing that’s definitely undeniable in this story and that is the chemistry between the characters! Phew it was hot and it did feel genuine also!
I am definitely looking forward to starting book 3!!

Crave (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola

Crave is the first book in the Clark Family series by Evelyn Sola. I absolutely loved this book and the drama it brought with it. I pretty much devoured this book in one day only because once I dove in I had to know how everything was going to play out. This isn’t my first read by this author and definitely not my last. This is Jacob and Sandra’s story. The moment these two meet the chemistry is ridiculous between but because of past issues and betrayal from his brother and sil theres trouble before they even really get a chance to get started. Can they have a future together? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

Crave : An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Sola. Crave is a great book and I can’t wait for more. She has a certain way of writing her stories that make you fall in love.

Sandy is filling in for her cousin at her mom’s bakery when she has to deliver something last minute. When she gets there she’s invited to stay. Family conflict happens and it leaves Sandy confused. The quote I chose for Sandy is: “Oh, please. I did not promise, and if he wanted a date with me, he wouldn’t have left me standing in the middle of the dance floor.”

Jake shows up to his mom’s birthday party only to meet the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. He follows her around trying to get her attention after she blows him off. Will he get the chance to explain before it’s too late? The quote I chose for Jake is: “Are you saying you’ve never been in love before, Sandy?”

Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

Crave by Evelyn Sola (the first book in the Clark Family Series) was a great read! The cover is what initially drew me in, and once I started reading I couldn’t put this book down! Full of drama, steamy romance, and some slight mystery (at least at the beginning) this was a very entertaining ride and read from beginning to end. This book had me laughing and crying. It was so beautiful and the attraction between Jake and Sandra cannot be denied. I was absolutely enthralled with this book. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!

At Once: Adams Brothers: Book 2 by Mindy McKinley

I really enjoyed this book, the story between Gabi and Mason was so sweet and you can never go wrong when at least one of the characters is a Cubs fan.

Gabi has a past that she isn’t very proud of which is understandable but she should be. She is an strong woman and can do anything she sets her mind to.  I do wish there was a little more attention on her past and how she got through everything.  Maybe it would give someone the strength to get out of that horrible situation.

Mason is a charmer, a successful and talented charmer.  I’m sure he had to depend on the charm with being the middle of the three boys. He certainly charmed me.

This is a great series and I’m looking forward to Seb’s book next.

This story just really pulled at my heart strings. At first it’s all sassy and fun then the serious stuff hits. It’s weird for the male lead to be the one thinking they are unworthy. But Joel does and it plays out full of heartache and strength of character. As you can tell I enjoyed this story. It has depth, hope and strength. This drew me in with the fun and I became fully involved with the storyline.

I loved the spunk and fire of Em. She knows her self worth and doesn’t let others think less. She is kind, thoughtful and smart. Joel is surprised by Em. She is not what he was expecting…she is better. They have ups and downs to conquer and Work, family, friends and the past to all figure out how end up together …or apart.

Over all this is a story that affects my heart. It was filled with joy, sorrow and relief. I love it all! It was great to chat here u with the characters from the previous books.

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading Road Tripped, I was intrigued as to what Stormy’s backstory was and what drove him to make the decisions he made. The second book in the Utah Chapter of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC series, Stormy’s Thunder, promised to tell me more about this complex and mysterious character.
Stormy’s Thunder deviates from the format of the majority of the Satan’s Devils books as much of the story – whole chapters, even – is told through flashbacks. This is very effective. The present day sections of the story set out questions that are answered in the past, only to raise more questions that take us elsewhere in Stormy’s story.
Although many of the Satan’s Devils books work fine as standalones I would really recommend reading Road Tripped before Stormy’s Thunder. The stories are closely linked, with Stormy’s Thunder including retellings of some of the events of the previous book from different perspectives, and Road Tripped is a good introduction to the Utah Chapter.
For me, this is a five-star book. This series… honestly I have very little interest in romance and motorcycles but these books are so well written and the stories are always such page-turners, I’m hooked. A joy to read!

This cute romantic romp is an easy read for an afternoon. I am enjoying the cute town this author has set this series in and tend to enjoy the lost love trope. The heroine was quirky. Rose and Liam both carry their own baggage and idiosyncrasies. Don’t overthink this one – it is a cute story set in a charming town.

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett. First off I LOVE these books so I’m always excited to see a new one. This one was no different. It was soo good and I can’t wait for the next one! This is Stormy’s story who we have met a few times in the other books but he was always just a grouch. This book tells a different story. Stormy was a Navy Seal and is actually a man with a ton of skeletons in his closet and he’s never really dealt with them. When he meets Cat he falls in love immediately and he will do whatever it takes to protect her and that means dealing with his past. Cat is changing Stormy weather he wants to or not and it is for the better. This book will have you flipping pages faster than lightning! You can read it as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order! Its an amazing story!

This was my first book by Evelyn Sola. In this book our main characters are Sandy and Jake. Sandy is a nurse and doesn’t need any one to swoop in and “save” her, she takes care of herself just fine. Jake Clark is from “old money” and a family owned business that’s been around awhile. This tale is a love story and how different people and different situations can either help or hurt your relationship.

Crave: An Instant Attraction Romantic Comedy (Clark Family Series) by Evelyn Sola is a book full of romance and humor. The romance is intense while the comedy can’t be help but put a smile on your face.

Sandra and Jake meet unexpectedly at a party. The drama she promised herself never to get involved in chooses to walk away hoping never to see him again. Jake up for chase will chase her down to the end of the earth to make her his. He has a hard past but that won’t stop him from getting what he wants. Sandra wants him but won’t admit it

This is the first book in the series and there are two more. I can’t wait to read them. I couldn’t get enough of the romance and passion. When I first started the book it took me by surprise I didn’t want to put it down.

What a story!!! I know if I see Manda Mellett’s books that I just pick one up because I know it is going to be an excellent read. Her ability to draw me into her stories is awesome. The plotline is engaging. I can see myself in the story with the main characters. The characters are fully developed and have unique qualities that make me recommend this book. Have you ever wanted to have a second chance at something that you messed up? Does your past come back to bite you in your rear? In this book, you can do just that. You can have a second chance to make everything work and leave you in a happy place. There is a roller coaster ride but the story keeps you moving to finish and before you know it you are at the end of the book. I will warn you once you start reading this book you are not going to want to put it down. I highly recommend this book and all of Manda Mellet’s Satan’s Devils books.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Heartbeats and Roses by Jae Dawson is a Hartwood Holiday Romance. This was such a good book packed with everything! Second chances, forgiveness, small town – it has a little bit of everything.

Rose is such a text book romantic and truly enjoys matchmaking. As much as she’d like to find love for herself, no one has measured up to her first love. Maybe that will soon change. Liam has had a rough go of it lately and returns to his hometown to take a step back and get his bearings. He doesn’t expect to come face to face with the girl he left behind. Will fate intervene?

This was a sweet read. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I found myself really hoping things would work out for Rose after all the match making she’s done for everyone else. I had to find out how it would end! I recommend giving this book a chance!

I was happy to find out that the author decided to dedicate a book to this character. We’ve met him briefly in other novels and he was always a jerk. In this story, you realize how very complex he actually is. Stormy’s past comes back to haunt him and nearly kills everyone he cares about, including himself. Unbeknownst to him, he is caught in a much bigger web than he understands. Being a loner for so long, he has to learn to trust that his team will have his back. If he can’t then the woman he loves will die and that’s not an option.

This book is filled with action, betrayal and intrigue. Honestly, I’m never disappointed with a book by this author. It is another winning novel in her Satan’s Devils series. Each book that she writes keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this one.

Crave (Clark Family Series Book 1)Crave by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the story of Jacob Clark and Sandra Etienne, they have a past, but she doesn’t want a future after the incident at the party where she walked away, but Jacob has other ideas and is determined to win her back.

The story starts with Jacob, ridding himself of an alcohol fueled one night stand, while not leaving a good impression while he does it, finally, he feeds and walks his dogs before washing the night away in the shower and while watering his plants, he fields a call from his best friend to find out what happened and why he brought someone home. He asks his friend whether he is going to be at Jacob’s mums birthday later on that day and unfortunately, he can’t because he is working, he doesn’t have the time, but he reminds Jacob not to act like an ass while he is there.

It is saturday and as usual Sandra is helping her mum out at her bakery because her cousin hasn’t turned up again, but she is annoyed because it means that she will be late for her monthly girl’s night with her best friends, so as she is getting ready, she asks her mum what she needs doing. It turns out that it is a delivery to one of her mum’s biggest clients, a well to do family who she caters for both their private and public events, so as she heads over in the van and when she gets there she meets the lady of the house and is enveloped in a welcoming embrace and is invited to stay for the party in order to meet her son’s doctor friend, but they are distracted when a male voices comes up to them and it is one of her sons, Jacob. As she turns round to meet him, she realises that the body and face are definitely as sexy as his voice and she can’t pull her gaze away from him, even when his mum is still talking about fixing her up with his friend until she leaves them to go and finish getting ready for her party. As they survey each other and flirt like there is nobody else there, they walk over to the bar and continue the banter until his dad appears and breaks the moment by enveloping him in a bear hug and asking Sandra to keep him out of trouble after a conversation which Jacob doesn’t appear to enjoy.

As Sandra and Jacob tour his house and look at family photo’s and the destinations in them, Sandra keeps going back to the fact that they are from completely different sides of the tracks, but nonetheless, they continue to flirt and things start to get heated. As more people arrive for the party, Sandra is introduced to more family and friends and everything seems to be going well until two of Jacob’s brothers arrive and the atmosphere turns cool. The family dynamics start to show through and Sandra can see that something has happened between them, the brothers can’t stand to be around each other, even though one is trying to be friendly and their parents are trying to keep the situation under control. When Jacob drags her away from the scene, they go to the kitchen until it is time to eat where she is invited to dine with them, where the two talk about her family and job, but when Jacob’s brother’s wife turns up, the atmosphere becomes downright icy. As they finish eating, Jacob invites Sandra to dance and they do, until Sandra sees that Tracy is pregnant and asks Jacob when she is due, this turns out to be a dreadful mistake and Jacob flies over in a rage and has a verbal altercation with his brother, at this point Sandra can’t take her eyes of the argument, but when the punches fly, Sandra escapes and decides that she doesn’t need Jacobs kind of trouble in her life, but when Jacob turns up to the bakery the Saturday after and asks for the date she agreed to, she has to make a decision.
Will Sandra and Jacob be together, or will his past troubles bleed into his current relationship? Can they overcome their barriers and let the other in, or will the walls be too high to climb?
This is a romance with more than just the usual barriers, but the characters keep you invested and wanting more.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have looked forward to this book ever since I read book 1. This is another nice read from this author. I enjoyed how Mason was thrown completely off kilter in dealing with Gabi. He starts off very loose with his morals but once he see Gabi he really starts to come into his own. Gabi..I didn’t love her character. She is a great friend, artistic but she has a weird past with an ex and she is very hush-hush about it and him. I feel this didn’t get explained or resolved to the reader very well. Changing numbers and blocking calls…I don’t know this just didn’t feel right to me

It was lovely to Dom and Lu as well as Seb and their Mom again. They all have wonderful interactions with each other. Kylie is a super BFF and business partner of Gabi. I loved seeing these girls looking out for each other.

I look forward to Seb’s story.

This is the third book in the Freshwater series. This story follows Em, working on her PhD, and Joel, an architect. Neither are interested in a relationship as they are both too focused on their future. Joel’s client (Em’s father) suggests he and Em go out together. Meeting a spoiled daddy’s girl was not what he had in mind. But alas, Em’s father wants nothing more than for his little girl to settle down and get married. When Joel meets her, she is definitely not what he expected. Of course, sparks fly, but Joel needs to prove to her that he really is interested in her and not just because of her father.

Rose is the owner of the local flower shop; she loves the job she does to injection happiness in the flowers she provides. A total romantic but life has been cruel to her after the love of her life left 20 years ago without even a backward glance. Once a year she becomes cupid with her Valentine Admirer event but she did not expect a shock this year.

When Liam needs to get away for a bit and get his head together after a surgery goes wrong, instead of going to see his girlfriend he decides to go back to his hometown. After being run out of town 20 years ago will he be able to confront the anger he felt all those years ago. So he booked an Airbnb and arrived at the flower shop. He did not believe he would be looking face to face with his past.

This story is a great tale of friendship, betrayal and trust and that you feel strong emotions with both of these characters. Liam’s character shows that he needs to soul search but needs the familiarity of his best friend to help him along the way. I loved the relationship between these two characters as the frosty beginning to then you are routing for them to rekindle the chemistry they had when they were younger. This story is well written and is a great paced book which once you have started can not put down. Although this book is part of a series, I feel you can read this as a stand-alone book. This is the second book I have read by this author and would love to read more.

Bella has lived her life with the regret of her one true love left to pursue a career in music which left her heart broken and determined to care for life. Cade is a rock legend, but when he returns to his hometown to say goodbye to someone he loved, can he recover and go back on the road. Cade then has some hard memories and decisions he needs to relive and recover.

I loved this story, it is full of what other people have said a Hallmark movie feels. The characters in this have a great chemistry which pulses off the page but what I love is that their relationship burns slowly at first and you get to truly know the characters. Each character has their fair share of angst and regrets which make them super relatable and I always think that those types of characters you could so easily have as friends. Although the main characters are well developed and written, the secondary characters also add an extra layer to the story and make it hard to put down once you have started reading.

This is the first book I have read by this author but I definitely would like to read more of the author and this series. If you enjoy a good romance with well written story and characters then this is a story for you.

I think Gramps was my favorite or Mamma, I can’t decide!
There is heat, spark (are those the same?), laughter, drama and turmoil, tears (both happy and sad) interwoven in the pages of this story.

I really enjoyed getting into this story, I can’t wait to read Heartbeats and Roses!!
