This is a quick romance story. You know the kind, meet, hate each other, and well read this story and see how it ends. That is about how it goes for Derek and Melinda. The banter is well written, which makes this story so good. I enjoyed this author’s story, it was clear and easy to follow. The characters fit their parts well. I love everything about this story, except it ended too soon. Although with a few hours of nothing, reading this story will fill that time at the doctors or on the soccer field. This is a new to me author, but you can be sure I will be wanting more. I look forward to seeing who this author brings in her next book.

Oh man… This book… I was literally refusing sleep to finish it. The author knew what she was doing with this story. I was ALL in from the first page. This world (even though I’m from New Orleans) still manages to keep me absolutely enthralled. I felt like I was living in this family. I could just immerse myself into the whole story. I am a huge fan of this author. I look forward to many more books!

3.5 Stars This was good and enjoyable, however, it felt slow and long-winded. This story takes place before our age of modern technology and everyone having cell phones so the story line actually works well for this time period. Ali is caught in a storm in the Hoh Rainforest and stumbles upon a solitude cabin that JJ(Joe), a famous country singer, is staying at to heal his vocal cords. During this brief encounter, they are connected and drawn towards each other but part ways which leads to the long period of time before they can reconnect. While the storyline and love story between Ali and Joe was sweet, it was somewhat anticlimactic. I was very hopeful in part 1 of this storyline and breezed right through, excited to follow these two on their path to romance. Part 2 lagged a lot and I became disengaged while Part 3 attempted to reel me back in but I was not fully back into the story and beginning to dislike the BFF Becca and her scrutiny towards Ali’s life choices. I enjoy feeling like the characters are real and will continue on long after the final page is read, but this one left me not feeling that joy, rather I was happy to part ways. While the author is a great author, this storyline failed to capture me fully.

This book was so good!! I am so glad that I read it and I can’t wait to read more from this author! This one was a first from her, but defiantly won’t be a last for sure! Ava and Matthias don’t get along. He’s never been nice to her, but she’s best friend’s with his brother Theo so she’s always around. Growing up together their families are super close, but she doesn’t know why he always looks so miserable around her and every word towards her is cruel. She hates the way he treats her and for the life of her she doesn’t know what she ever did to make him hate her. One winter day after an argument and fall Ava is laid up at the estate. Then if things couldn’t get worse they’re snowed into the estate, while the rest of the Kings and her father are snowed out in New York. I don’t want to give to much away, but one thing leads to another and the next thing she knows, she’s in this crazy love triangle with him and Theo! Who will she end up with? I really liked both brothers for her in different ways, but I never saw some of the twists in this book coming! If you love a good contemporary romance, enemies to lovers, a little jealousy, and easy banter between characters this is one you need to add to your to-read list!

What a read!! This one is going to grab you within the first page and hold you in until you finish it. Just plan to clear your schedule for this one!
I did begin to wonder about halfway through if the book was really going to be long enough to cover all the things that needed to be addressed but thankfully, it was all fully covered! I’m used to books with this kind of plot having many more pages but this was a welcomed site to cover so much in a short period.
Veronica is the cream of the crop when it comes to IT security. She’s also one of the few women in the field. Things look a little shady one day and a coworker comes to ask her about checking into one of the servers. Next thing, there’s a fire alarm and everything goes crazy.
Angus is a firefighter who is working his tail off for a promotion to Chief. He gets a call from his sister Cara one that day her best friend Veronica might need a security detail and could he go and help. Being the hero Angus is, he jumps right up and becomes security that Veronica needs. Little did they both know exactly what they were getting into.
I loved this book, even with a bit of a surprise twist and would highly recommend it!

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Billionaire and owner of Wilson Creations, Derek has everything, fame, fortune and success but no one to share it with. When he meets Melinda he’s drawn to her sharp wit and fiery spirit, however she’s also his new assistant. They become a formidable team, business wise, following a rather rocky start and after awhile Derek sees Melinda in a different light. They face any challenges that arise, finding strength in each other, but their forbidden feelings may not be enough to overcome all obstacles, especially when their are forces that want to keep them apart. This is a fairly short read, but one which hooks you from the start. The descriptive narrative brings both the characters and setting vividly to life, which made me feel immersed in the story.

I was totally looking forward to reading this – I LOVE the 80’s! Blaine’s mother owned a novelty store called “Back to the 80’s” and passed it on to her when she died. Eric wants to demolish the store to build a brewery. Blaine talks him into giving her a month to prove to him how great that decade was. This was such a great read with a nice trip down memory lane!

I loved this book so much! The storyline was great and I loved the characters. In just one shop I was transported back to the 80’s and all the memories of things I or my family owned! I’m pretty sure I still have my cabbage patch doll somewhere! I love a good rom com story and this one was definitely one of my favourites! I could definitely imagine this book being made into a film – one I would definitely watch. There was definite instant attraction between Blaine and Eric, and although pretty fast it didn’t feel forced and I enjoyed seeing this evolve over the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it to other readers.

Cruel King is a very awesome read, I could not put it down. The main characters are very well developed. The reader can really relate to what the characters are going through in the story. This is the second book in the next generation of the Hawke Family Saga. I can not get enough of these books. The way this story is written gives you so much to digest. It has amazing characters and you get to see some characters from other stories. The character development is so well done that you feel yourself going through the emotions of all the characters. While reading this you feel like you are right there along with then and going through everything that they are going through. Adding in the forbidden thoughts of your best friends sister, gives the reader just enough intrigue to see how things end up. There are some controversial topics and traumas that the characters work through. This gives the readers opportunity to get gripped into the story. This book is another page turner that you won’t be able to put down. You will want to know what is happening, who did what, etc. This book can be read as a stand alone but you won’t want to. You will want to know the other characters and their stories. You will want to know all the dirty deets with everyone else. Softest touch was an enjoyable slow burn romance. It has the element of a forbidden relationship (employer and employee), there is an element of enemies to lovers as well as chemistry and finding love when you least expect it. The author does an amazing job with the main characters making them both deep and connectable. This is a story about 2 people from different worlds coming together and even though everything say it should work they are actually perfect for each other. Derek hires Melinda to be his personal assistant. Both of them are stubborn individuals, Derek is a workaholic and Melinda is determined to prove she can succeed in a male dominated environment. At first they don’t get on, their stubbornness means they butt heads with each other however the closer they work together the chemistry starts to build and they can’t deny their feelings for each other. Things aren’t straight forward though and there are problems and roadblocks in their way. When Melinda has to deal with family issues, I was really surprised at how supportive Derek became.
Overall this romance was really enjoyable to read. The characters were well written and easy to relate to. They were easy to like and they make you feel invested in their story and their romance.

It is hard to qualify what this book really is. It is a part of the Hawke Saga. It is a story of love, family and friendship. It is also about breaking down walls within ourselves to allow the true us to be. It is about realizing that blood doesn’t make you family, feelings make you family.
Jude has more secrets than he can count. Some he shared with his best friend since they were 10, Alessi or Al. Some he has never told anyone, and he has no plans to. One secret that is bubbling to the top is his love, his obsession with the only woman he has ever had those kinds of feelings for, Angie. On the top of the list of problems of a chance at a relationship with Angie is that she is Alessi’s sister. Sure, there is a 12 year age age but that shouldn’t be an issue. The issue is that she is family.
Angelina or Angie has experienced a lot of loss in her life, starting with her father when she was 5. So to avoid that kind of feeling as an adult, Angie has blocked herself off from relationships. She has her sister, her cousins, the rest of her family and Jude. Although she avoids being around Jude because of the pull she feels towards him, Angie knows that he is always there.
Right now, Angie and Jude must come together to determine what is going on with Alessi. Alessi has been MIA several days, lying, avoiding conversations, coming in late to work and overall not being herself. I want a chair with my name on it at Nana’s table. This family is awesome, full of love and support. They might disagree or even argue but they are always there for each other when the coffee spills or secrets need to be buried. Beautiful. Wonderful. Steamy! I didn’t want it to end.

Softest Touch by Adina D. Grey is a sweet contemporary workplace romance with a bit of a billionaire romance element, a forbidden relationship (boss/employee), different worlds connecting, opposites attract, chemistry, spice, challenges, a little drama, banter, and finding love unexpectedly. Derek and Melinda may not have gotten off to a very ‘smooth’ start, but working together soon has their chemistry simmering below the surface, and before too long begins to bubble over- and things take an ‘interesting’ turn… They may not realise at the start, but they are perfect for each other I really enjoyed this book, being my first read by Ms. Grey, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but the blurb engaged my curiosity, and so I took a leap of faith and snapped up a copy and set off to explore. And I am so glad I did, as I enjoyed the story even more than I was hoping for. I will definitely be adding Ms. Grey to my reading list and am looking forward to exploring all her other works, too. • Cruel King is a Contemporary Romance that once you start reading its hard to put down until you finish. This is an Enemies to Lover’s/ Second Chance Romance that was intense at times. Ava has known the King brothers for as long as she can remember, she’s best friends with Theo and Matthias is a hot-headed jerk at times. That is until she finds herself trapped in a snowstorm for two days. Five years have passed and now he’s back because his father I is dying. A lot has happened in five years but him being a jerk has not. She never forgot him or there time together but now she’s with someone else. He wants to hate her but he can’t. These two holy cow do they have chemistry? I truly disliked Matthias until I learned more about him. Can these two have a relationship they both want and deserve? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Oh my goodness I LOVED this book! I was a kid in the 80’s and I loved every single page. There was so much talk of 80’s movies, music, toys, and games that it took me back to my childhood. The main character, Blaine, is lovable from the beginning. She is an independent and strong business owner who has made some great friends with the other shop owners in her strip mall. She runs a shop that belonged to her mom and that she grew up in that was dedicated to all things 80’s. The strip mall is supposed to be bought by a huge construction company so they can build a new brewery. When she meets one of the Morales clan she thinks he is an intern, not the one in charge. Eric Morales is hoping this job, his first big job on his own, goes smoothly so he can become a partner in the family company. Eric and Blaine end up making a bet – she needs to convince him that her company is worth saving and she only has one month. Blaine ends up planning some really fun 80’s outings to convince Eric, but it is hard to keep it just business as they start hanging out and getting to know each other. 5 stars!

This book definitely had me in my feelings. In the beginning I disliked Matthias a lot and I couldn’t believe that Ava gave in so easily to him. Later in the story I just wanted Matthias to find happiness with Ava. There is so much drama, hurt, anger, misunderstanding, family, friends and so much more. I didn’t even know how to feel about Ava and Theo, it just felt so wrong after the incredible couple of days Ava and Matthias spent together. There are a couple of twists and turns in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and the author’s writing style. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book.

Definitely moved into my top 5 books of the year! I have loved every bit of reading this book and learned a little about myself while reading. I was also raised by my Gran and lost her a few years ago. Saying that I was flooded with a lot of emotions throughout this book. I cried and I laughed and did a little healing. The characters and story are so well written and thought out. I think it would make an excellent movie. I can absolutely recommend this book.

I feel like I’ve taken a walk back through time with this novel! I had so much fun reading about Blaine’s store with all her retro clothing, clothes, music, and more! It’s the kind of store I’d visit and spend hours in just remembering the “good ole days” of my childhood.
Blaine inherited this awesome store from her mother and she’s super proud of all her accomplishments with it. One day, JT, the hairstylist next door in the strip mall, comes to deliver some bad news though. The mall has been bought and is scheduled for demolition. Everyone must be out and there’s not much time.
Blaine, not one to back down from a challenge, makes a point to be present when the land developer crew walks through for a final inspection. Eric is in awe of her store but is really gunning for that title of partner in the family business. After meeting Blaine, Eric isn’t so sure about these plans now. Then Blaine issues a bet that Eric can’t pass up.
This is a fun read that transported me back in time, even if just for a few hours. I loved all the references to the time honored traditions of the 80’s and even had a few great memories myself reliving this fun era of time.

Well this was an unexpected and emotional story. I went into this book expecting a fun and entertaining story (which we got) but I didn’t expect to be emotionally invested in the characters, specifically Liz, and her journey. I thought thr author navigated you through it brilliantly and it made me connect with the book even more. This is still a pretty new author to me but stories like this definitely make me want to read more. This was well written and fun and I enjoyed going along for the ride.

This book is the fourth in the series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a fun romance story of childhood friends and small towns. I though the main chataracters had a great chemistry between them. It was relatable and easy to connect with. I found their story amusing and enjoyed getting to know them. This author has created a strong series that is fun and interesting to read. Each book is different and thoroughly enjoyable. I look forward to reading more.

This was a great 5 star read. I have really enjoyed this series and family from the first generation. I was pulled in right from the beginning with the author’s writing. I was done before I knew it. Cruel King was such an amazing story. Ava lives on an estate with her dad and brother due to her father being the estate’s manager. They had a special bond for basically her whole life. She got along with all the boys but one, Matthias King. Matthias is the oldest of the boys and always was mean to Ava. When she is 19, he still treats her the same way and she never understood why. One winter, there was a really bad storm and she gets stuck staying up at the main house, but the only King home is Matthias. He is very cruel to her and confronts him about it. However, after an incident, he is all of a sudden changing his tone. Let me just say they spend 2 days in absolute bliss, but when everyone returns, things change. Matthias and Ava have always been told to stay away from each other but they never knew why. Well, there is a lot of is a lot of miscommunication throughout the entire story which leads to most of the angst that we see occur. This story occurs over at least a 5 year period so many ups and downs. Will the two of them ever be able to be together with no one else or either of them get in the way of happiness? I really don’t know what to say about this story, without giving spoilers. I really enjoyed the entire book. While I am not big on miscommunication love stories, something felt different in this one. I loved all the characters, even Matthias who seems to be cruel and heartless. The development of his character is a beautiful one. The only thing that I would have liked better written were some of the intimacy scenes, but that is probably just a personal preference. I had many feelings as I read this book – the last handful of chapters I was crying. The plot definitely surprised me at times and that was refreshing.

Another enjoyable and engaging novel in this addictive series, I love being back with the Hawke family, and as usual I was hooked from page one. The storyline focuses on Jude and Angelina, who he can’t stop thinking about and who he’s in love with, however she’s off limits as she’s his best friends older sister, and a Hawke. This story took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst Jude dealt with issues from his past, as well as being conflicted by his feelings for Angelina. Trusting anyone was difficult for Jude after years of living on the streets, and it was the Hawke’s who took him in and made him family. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the billionaires world that the Hawke’s live in. I loved both Jude and Angelina and their chemistry sizzled off the page, however I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story and enjoyed the reverse age gap, older women theme. An entertaining read, and I can’t wait to be back with the Hawke’s in the next book, hopefully soon!

This is a fantastic romantic suspense that is told from the dual POVs (my fav) of Veronica and Angus. I love Mehring’s character development of the main characters and their banter throughout the novel was witty and placed appropriately. The plotline was original and well done. Veronica discovers a sinister plot at work that requires her to need a bodyguard and in steps Angus, who happens to be her best friends brother. I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to more!
The Hawke world is one of my favorite worlds. With characters so real and developed, it feels like you can reach out and touch them. You will have a new best friend. Every book has a fresh and complex plot and this one will grab you. Past trauma has Jude’s walls so high no one has climbed them. The story really eclipses how jacked someone’s view of themselves can be. It can be debilitating, and an intimate relationship brings that to the forefront. Satisfying as a forbidden romance and age gap, but also satisfying in the realness of trauma. Loved visiting one of my favorite families! Hope many more to come!

Quick suspenseful romance A beautiful storyline, this book had all the feels. Derek finds a compatible spirit in Melinda. Together they need to face several obstacles. The writing draws you in and the characters keep you glued until the end. A wonderful read fir a lazy afternoon. Recommend.

Friends to lovers sweet contemporary romance This is the fourth book in the Bluestone Series and it was a great addition. Summer is back in Bluestone County as life has not turned out as she planned. Teddy, retired from the Navy, returns to Bluestone County and buys the local bar. Both Summer and Teddy have a history and what unfolds as these two rekindle and work through some obstacles is an engaging and well written read. It was a treat to be back in Bluestone County and to cross paths with characters from previous books. This book, and the whole series, is totally not to be missed. Recommend.
