This book was wonderfully written. I loved the back and forth between Matthias and Ava. At times I wanted to strangle him because of his words that he would say to her, and I would feel for Ava and the pain that she felt. They both enjoyed 2 days of bliss while trapped in a snowstorm at his house. But good things must come to an end for these two. After 5 years from being away from each other and trying to forget, Ava has found happiness but then Matthias come crashing back into her world, after coming back to see his father’s last moments. Do they end up together finally, or do they keep going this path and eventually forget each other?!

I have read a few books by this author and i am looking forward to more because i enjoy this author’s writing style. This story follows Summer and Teddy and they were not my favorite couple that i have read by this author. BUT I like the story overall, i just didn’t care for them very much. The writing and plot were still great and i enjoyed the story so I def would recommend to a friend! Happy Reading!

Mathias King wants Ava. However, his father has warned him to leave her alone. Ava is best friends with his younger brother, Theo. They have grown up together and treated each other as a family. Now that she is nineteen years old, Ava’s father is overprotective and tells her not to leave the house. The snow is starting to fall, and he is driving the King family into the city for holiday shopping. After her father leaves, the power goes out in the house and Ava has no heat. She makes the trek up the hill to the King’s house. Only Mathias and Eleanor, the housekeeper, are home. Eleanor takes Ava’s wet clothes to dry. Ava is sitting in the living room when Mathias confronts her. He tells her to leave in the meanest way he can think of. Hurt, Ava puts her wet clothing back on and rushes out into the blizzard.
Mathias hears Eleanor scream. Ava has fallen into a snowbank head first. Mathias rushes out to bring her back inside. He carries Ava to his room, her ankle is sprained and she can’t put weight on it. After taking her wet clothing, Mathias makes sure Ava has a warm robe, but he still tells her she needs to leave. When she attempts to limp out of his room, Mathias stuns Ava when he kisses her. The start to something growing quickly fills two snow days. However, when Ava’s father takes her home, he decides she is going to leave immediately for her aunt in New Hampshire. Without the chance to say goodbye, Ava is gone. Mathias is crushed and anger fills him.
Cruel King has excellent tension and seeing the point of view from Ava, Mathias, and Theo provides a unique perspective to the story. Ava’s father casts an integral piece into the story and causes strife every step of the way. Can love last 5 years of separation? Did the two days even result in love? This is a 5 star book all the way and I recommend it.

Love Shots is the fourth book in the Bluestone series by Isobel Reed. It is a friends-to-lovers sweet contemporary romance with a small-town setting, a western element, sexy cowboys, opposites attract, emotion, humour, interesting characters, and enough drama, suspense, and angst that ignites real tension in the storyline. Summer had always dreamed of taking over her grandfather’s bar in her hometown. So, when she discovers that he had sold it, she is not impressed. To find that her childhood friend, Teddy, is the new owner- makes her furious. Sparks, and whiskey fly, so things are about to get interesting. What ensues makes for a great read. With a violent ex in the mix too, will danger come into play? Well I’m not giving anything away and ruin it for you- but I will say that the tension and emotion was nicely balanced by some witty banter, with the humorous moments adding an extra element of charm to the story. There was also a nice touch of tender, romantic moments that gave it a heartwarming feel, too. Happy Reading…

Cruel King by K.M. Scott was definitely an emotional ride from the depths of anger and hatred to elation and love. Matthias King is honestly one of the the rudest, unhappiest dudes I’ve ever read about. His demeanor is a little irritating at first because he seems to have literally no redeeming qualities except being attractive. Ava Sutton on the other hand is a sweet as can be and doesn’t understand the hostility from the oldest brother of her best friend. And truly I didn’t either, even after everything. I didn’t understand how everything could have happened so quickly in the two days that it did based on the fact that he seemingly hated her (and basically anyone alive). However, I can appreciate the redemption and maybe a little of his backstory. The story itself was good and I found myself wanting to find out how he wins her over. It was a fast read for me based on that alone. I was truly excited to finish it. I am hoping this turns into a series because I’d love to read about the other King brothers.

Cruel King by K.M. Scott is very angsty enemies-to-lovers romance. I have read a few of Ms. Scott’s books before and really loved her ‘Club X’ series- so when I saw this pop up on my recommended book notifications, I didn’t hesitate and snapped up a copy to dive into. This book twisted me up on so many levels. While it is incredibly well written, and the characters are fully realised individuals with electrifying chemistry that sizzles right off the pages, and their angsty push-pull is palpable- I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about this book. I will try to explain why I feel a little tied up in knots over my rating and review of this book. Everything about it is very professional, polished, and well-presented. But going into the book I had high expectations having loved everything else I had read of Ms. Scott’s that I’ve read- so I set off to see what she had in store for us and immediately had doubts that I would be able to ‘like’ our MC, Matthias. He was a real jerk, and treated Ava so terribly that I wanted to slap him on Ava’s behalf- and then shake her silly for putting up with it. But I still held out hope. Then things got more complicated, with a bit of a love triangle thing happening with his brother (her best friend) and I became more dubious, because, to me it felt like cheating- even though technically it wasn’t cheating. But I really felt put off that Ava and Theo got together after she and Mathias had ‘been’ together- I know many years had passed and he was being a jerk, but still, my heart was hurt in the process lol- and I couldn’t help but feel like she’d cheated….and don’t get me started on his ‘marriage’ either. I was torn, because I was rooting for them, and for him to get his act together. I mean, obviously he does in the end, but the frustrating angsty push-pull, drama, and tension goes on for more than three quarters of the story- and by that stage I was quite anxious as to the actual outcome of the story. So, this is why I have been torn about my rating of the book and writing a review. This could/should be a five-star read, but my heart is still a little bruised… Matthias has four hunky brothers, so perhaps this might be the first book in a new series- we will have to wait and see. Happy Reading…

Wow…….this story was very intense. Drama filled emotional roller coaster, romance, regrets and mistakes, this book had it all. The love/hate relationship I had with Matthias…..I get it….at the end … I get it. I loved Matthias and Ava’s journey by the end..it was just a bit bumpy and at times totally cruel.
Ava lives within the confines of the King estate with her father. Ava is really great friends with all the King boys, except for one…..Matthias. He is the oldest of the King boys and by far his words to her can be cruel and relentless. All Ava wants to understand is why she is hated so much by Matthias. When a bad snowstorm hits….and Ava’s father and Max King are away with some of the King boy, Ava is alone with none other than Matthias. At first, Matthias is ruthless in his words. When he lets a little of his guard down, he is taken by Ava and just how much he loves being with her…….but that is displeasing to her father when he arrives home and she is sent away…leaving Matthias hurt and with so many questions…
Years down the road, Matthias is cruel and heartless as ever….his father’s pressures of being the first son taking over the family business……….Matthias must travel back home for family affairs and he runs into Ava again. Matthias is relentless as ever, belittling Ava and just his words are gut punching. Will Matthias and Ava ever know what truths are out there when they continually hurt each other in ways that are unimaginable, especially getting answers from years past…….
This story was just emotional…..and just hard to put down. The love of Matthias and Ava……. my heart and what they had to go through…

This is the first book in the series. This story had me on a whirlwind of emotions going through the pages. Ava and Matthias’ story is full of climbs and drops and heartfelt emotion. You won’t want to put it down. And you will not be able to contain your excitement waiting for the next in the series.

This story instantly drew me in. Ali and JJ (Joe) have a crazy chemistry that is undeniable. So much happens, and they really do go through it. I truly got lost in this world. I smelled the forest, I could hear all the sounds of the city. The story is so well written, it makes it easy to feel like you’re part of their world. So many things happen in this story and in then end, it does not disappoint. I highly recommend this story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

I’ve read a few of Isobel Ree and always enjoyed them. This book is not at all my favorite though. I was just not a fan of the story of Summer and Teddy. It had good structures and everything I just could not get into this one. I did finish it just so much like the ones before it I guess. I do absolutely still recommend it to anyone who loves the falling in love stories with drama and stepping stones.

Love Shots is another great addition to the Bluestone series and is possibly one of my favorites but I honestly have really enjoyed them all. In this installment you will get Summer, a beautiful blonde, who is, or feels like she is a walking hot mess, who doesn’t deserve a good thing in this world, and Teddy, a retired Navy seal, who retired from the Navy after becoming a POW, who is desperate to prove to Summer that she deserves the world, and then some. Summer and Teddy both have been in love with each other since childhood, but the other felt misunderstood, and like the feelings weren’t reciprocated. These characters seem so real with real life issues and problems, and Isobel Reeds writing makes them really come to life. I went from laughing to hanging on to the edge of my seat, white knuckling my kindle, to teary eyed, and back again. Love Shots contains some subject matter that could be triggering to some readers, and was spicy, but not explicit. Although the characters are connected in each book they can also be read as stand alone novels. As long as Isobel Reed is writing these novels I will be continuing to pick them up.

Softest Touch by Adina Grey is available now in eBook and Physical Book ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Book Review
Softest Touch was short, sweet, and to the point. I loved the story line and the characters. Sometimes I enjoy reading a short quick romance, however I felt this one could have been so much more. Everything happened so quickly between Derek and Melinda. I felt the relationship was forced. The spicy language within was distracting at times for my personal liking (hence the 4 star review). This was my first time reading a novel written by Grey and despite the few dislikes, I would not hesitate to pick up another novel written by her. The story line behind Melinda and Derek’s relationship really kept me invested in this one. I would not hesitate to recommend this novel to anyone who thoroughly enjoys a quick contemporary romance with lots of spice and suspense. I look forward to seeing what else Grey brings to us book lovers.

Derek is a fashion entrepreneur and a known workaholic; his high expectations for impeccable work and self isolation from any kind of relationships are also well known. But then his personal assistant takes a step down and he needs someone as capable and resilient as that good lady.
Melinda is in that time of her life where challenges are at the door every single day, due to her attractiveness, last name, and for the never ending fact that she is a woman. She must prove to her now arrogant boss that she fits in the industry and has his right hand. Oh but destiny has in store a surprise to these two hard headed individuals.

This is the first book I’ve read from K.M. Scott. I couldn’t put it down to be honest with you!!! Ava Sutton grew up with the five King boys, Matthias, Theo, Marius, Kellen and Ronan. Theo was her best friend and for some reason Matthias was her enemy, or at least that is how she was made to feel about him. Locked away in the King’s home because of a snow storm, does she find out why Matthias doesn’t like her or does something else happen? There are some serious sad parts to this story that bring all the characters together at times, but I truly believe that this story about two people whose love for each other is tainted by their parents

This is the fourth book in the Bluestone series but can be read as a standalone; however, I would recommend reading the series from the start. This instalment focuses on Teddy and Autumn, and I loved these two, they have great chemistry and were once best friends.
I think the opening to this book is my favourite of the series. I was hooked from the beginning when Autumn’s throwing expensive whiskey at Teddy in her anger and his concern at her bruises.
There were emotional parts to this book and my heart went out to Autumn with everything she went through, and this was incorporated into the story very well. I enjoyed both the storyline and the characters immensely; they were all well-constructed and believable. The descriptive language paints a vivid picture of the scenes as well as the characters and their mannerisms, bringing making you feel as though you’re experiencing it right alongside them.

This is an enjoyable standalone romance novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I can’t lie I often wanted to throw my book in frustration at Matthias, and Ava occasionally too. The way Matthias treated Ava instead of communicating was so frustrating, but it worked well for the story so I can’t be mad about it.
The characters were well-written and developed over time which I enjoy in a book. The writing flowed well and was easy to follow making it an easy read. The plot was great, the secrets that come to light and fall out was well-timed.
I really enjoyed this book and will be looking for more by this author.

Softest Touch is a heartwarming contemporary romance story by Adina. This is my first read by Adina and it is a sweet tale that will have you believing in love. It is a quick read that I would have loved to be a bit longer. This beautifully written tale is sexy and a little swoon worthy. I fell in love with the storyline and characters and with a dash of suspense mixed in it gave it an extra element. There is some trouble in paradise and their relationship is not without its challenges. There is lots of emotions, some angst, attraction, hope, passion and more. The story of Derek and Melinda is one you can’t help but fall in love with. Derek thought he had it all but then she walked into his life. To find out what happens you will need to read it for yourself. No spoilers here or it would ruin it for you. If you need a few hours to yourself and are looking for a light, quick read, with a bit of suspense then I recommend Softest Touch.

Love Shots is a contemporary romance and the fourth book in the Bluestone series. The story comes with all the ups and downs of living in a small town with an eclectic group of town folk. It is a fun read that will have you laughing at times. I think Bluestone may just be a place to be. I really enjoy Isobel’s easy way of telling a story. It makes it easy to fall into the story and the lives of others. This small-town romance has something for everyone who loves a romance with sexy with sexy cowboys, strong and sassy leading ladies. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter and goings of when these two come together. Summer down on her luck finds her way back to Bluestone County only to find her childhood friend taking the one thing she loved. Teddy has to duck and deal with a certain fiery blonde when she realises, he has the one thing she wants. I fell in love with the town and the characters as they navigate from friends to lovers. As always, I look forward to reading more from Isobel.

4.5 stars Cruel King is a captivating dark twisty tale full of frustration, angst, drama, suspense, sexual tension, and chemistry. Cruel is definitely an apt title for this King. This push pull relationship left me frustrated at times and I wanted to smack someone, well I wanted to do much more harm, but we’ll go with smack and hug the others. Just as well that there was some redemption. Cruel King an enemies-to-lovers trope that is an emotional train wreck and yanks at your heart strings. KM has cleverly woven a plot that is twisted and at one point disturbing, but it is so good that you can’t put it down. What happens when everyone is against what your heart wants? Will he destroy the only one he loves? Will she forgive the one who has twisted her thoughts and all but broken her heart? What happens when three does not equal two? You are going to need a good stiff drink after reading this. With 5 king brothers there is plenty of fodder for future stories. I can’t wait to dive into all of them. I am now off to sample some more of KM’s books.

What an utterly captivating, emotional and well written book this is. From the moment you start reading it is impossible to stop. The author takes you on such an emotional roller coaster with the characters. I felt on edge the whole time I was reading about them, never quite sure how things would turn out. The story was amazing. There was sp much going on and I just had to know where things would end up. This author always knows how write brilliant books and I think this has to be one of my favourites so far.

I really enjoyed this romance. It is a very emotional read. This book had me laughing and crying and feeling really frustrated by Matthias and the way he treated Ava. He loves her and wants her but he treats her so badly that I just want to shake him and make him realise his mistakes. Ava has been friends with Theo King for years. She gets on well with all the King brothers apart from Matthias. For some reason Matthias hates her and Ava has never known why. Until a snow storm leaves them stuck together for 2 days. During these 2 days secrets and feelings are uncovered that neither realised existed.
Fast forwards 5 years later and after Ava disappeared Matthias trys to move on with his life but forgetting about the only girl he has ever wanted isn’t going to be easy. When he returns because his father is dying he sees Ava again and all those old feelings resurface. But now there’s a even bigger problem. Ava has moved on and is now with another man. Matthias’s brother. How can he justify wanting a woman if having her breaks his brothers heart? This is a story of passion, hidden feelings, love/hate relationships, and a lot of confusion and twisted stories which keeps this couple apart and separated. Will they ever get it together? As secrets begin to be revealed and the actions of others are come to light can this couple now make it work? There is so many things happing that neither Matthias or Ava are aware of but that keeps them apart. You find yourself screaming at them to wake up and see through people’s lies? I loved this romance. It was emotional and gripping. I couldn’t stop reading it.

Softest Touch is a contemporary romance that centers around the characters of Derek and Melinda. Derek is the owner of Wilson Creations which has made him a billionaire. When Miranda is hired on to be Derek’s new Assistant the two do not necessarily see eye to eye and things get off to a shaky start. At first glance Derek feels that she appears to be too young and fragile to be up to the task of being his assistant. Derek does not want to hire her and tells her so, but Melinda does not back down. She gives him an earful about judging her without even knowing her and refuses to go away quietly. Determined to get in her say Melinda is persistent until Derek sees something in her that tells him to give her a chance. He loves her fiery attitude and the power she exudes when she is taking charge, which excites him. As the two work closely together, Derek finds himself attracted to Melinda and her sass, determination, and fiery attitude.
Melinda instantly despises Derek and feels that he is a douchebag for treating her the way that he did. She did not want the job in the first place and only applied for the position because it meant working in the world of fashion. Melinda dreamed of being a stylist but due to all her commitments and responsibilities her dream was put on the back burner. Working at Wilson Creations meant that she could at least be involved in the fashion industry. Plus, her Grandma had a crush on Derek and thought that he was sexy. Melinda does not deny that he is sexy and charming, but she also thinks that he is arrogant, cocky, and downright annoying. Despite how irritating and bossy he is Melinda cannot deny how attracted she is to Derek. As she and Derek work together the attraction between them grows and they learn to lean on one another. Can the attraction between them ever be more than that? Do they have a future together?
This was a well written story with wonderful characters and an interesting storyline. I loved Melinda’s fiery attitude and how she did not back down from Derek when she first met him. Most people would have been intimidated by him and his wealth and power. Melinda was not scared off easily and challenged him. Derek came across as rude, bossy, and arrogant but there ended up being a softer, gentler side to him underneath that gruff exterior. I found myself rooting for Derek and Melinda to be together. I highly recommend this book!

Love Shots is Book Four of the Bluestone Series. Although it is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone. With that being said, I do recommend reading the series because it is amazing! This is a friends to lover’s romance set in the small town of Bluestone County that centers around the characters of Teddy and Autumn. The book starts out with a bang and grabs your attention from the first few pages as Autumn practically breaks down Teddy’s door in the middle of the night and throws an eight-hundred-dollar bottle of whiskey at his head. She is furious that he has purchased her grandfather’s bar that she has always wanted. He has never seen Autumn so furious but even through the anger he still has a soft spot in his heart for her. When he notices bruises on Autumn’s arms, he knows that somebody has hurt her. She refuses to tell him, but his heart goes out to her and all he wants to do is protect her. Autumn has always been the girl for Teddy, but he has never let her know. This time around he intends to make the girl of his dreams his own. Will Autumn realize her true feelings for Teddy? Will Teddy and Autumn ever be a true couple?
This book had a wonderful storyline and engaging characters. Teddy might seem rough on the surface because of his time with the Navy Seals but deep down he is a sweetheart. He has had a crush on his friend for as long as he can remember but has never acted on his feelings. When Summer returns to town and Teddy realizes that she is in danger he vows to protect her. Summer has only returned home because she is penniless, jobless, and homeless. When she returns home, she is angry that her grandfather’s bar has been purchased by her friend Teddy because it was her dream to own it. When she confronts Teddy there is clearly more to the situation that she is letting on. Teddy realizes that Autumn is being abused but that she is too proud and stubborn to admit it. Teddy wants to protect her and keep her safe from her ex at all costs. My heart broke for Autumn when I thought of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex. I found myself rooting for Autumn to realize that Teddy was the man of her dreams, and I so wanted them to experience their happily ever after. This was an emotional read for me, but it was worth the read. I highly recommend this book!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her so far. I enjoy her writing style as well as her attention to details that make her stories realistic. They are well written stories that are hard to put down. This book is no different. I enjoyed reading this second chance romance story. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are two friends who have an attraction but will they act on it and finally allow themselves the happiness they deserve? I enjoyed what they brought to the story. They are strong, connectable characters that bring the story to life. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a fast paced romance story that you don’t want to miss. Will these two friends give in to their attraction? I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in a new series for this author. A second chance story that is full of attraction and a relationship worth fighting for. This is a well written story where the author used details to bring the characters to life and the world they live in. A story where two days trapped by a snow storm turns into more than ever expected. I enjoyed these characters and what they brought to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as the off the charts chemistry that heats up the story. They are strong characters that keep the story engaging to the end. I found myself wanting to know what happens to them. I enjoyed reading this story and I highly recommend it. You don’t want to miss out on this one.

Matthias King has been in love with Ava since they were young. As the daughter of his father’s estate manager, Matthias’ father forbade him to ever reveal those feelings, to anyone. So instead, he chose cruelty. It was easier that way. In a snowstorm and alone, Ava makes her way to the King mansion for warmth and company. Two days alone with Matthias and only the housekeeper and grounds keeper, Ava finds that she has feelings for Matthias. And then the real story begins. This book was so intense and I highly recommend it!

This was a cute, quick read. I liked how the story flowed. I also felt the chemistry developed well with the characters. I did find myself thinking there was something more I wanted from the story but it didn’t influence the overall feel. I would read others by this author.

For some reason, I had a disconnect from the main characters of Teddy and Summer from the very beginning of this read and it is odd for this authors work not to grab me. I had to begin the book several times just to get into it but all in all, the story was good. It had cute moments, brought back characters from the other books in the series and gave a wee bit of suspense. The author stuck true to the series format, which is a path full of road blocks to a happy ending with some steamy scenes in the mix. Good read I just never connected with the characters as I did in the preceding books.

Cute book, it was pretty face paced and felt rushed, but still worth the read and sweet. Melinda and Derek are lovely together and it is so sweet watching them fall in love with each other. My heart breaks for Melinda because of some family issues she has to deal with, and Derek shows more support than I thought he would. They have some bumps along the way but in the end work through it all together and with their friends. I loved the little surprise at the end, I didn’t not expect it.
