This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I was excited to pick up the next book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous book in this series to help your enhancement of the characters and the author’s writing style. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. The characters pull you into the story from the beginning. They are great strong, steamy characters that are among some of my favorites. They have great chemistry and growth throughout the story adding to the entertainment value of the story. This is a fast paced, engaging story where growing up on the streets, life teaches you to trust no one. A life where you find yourself trusting one person but you are not allowed to have her. No matter what you can’t have her but there is a determination and attraction that can’t be ignored. This is a story you don’t want to miss. It is full of romance, steam and just hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

The Silent Woodsman is the first book in The Olympic Peninsula Series (Audiobook) by this author with narration by Cat Treadgold. This is my first Audiobook by this author and I’m a fan already. She did a wonderful job with narrating the characters really came to life with the different tones of her voice. I’m fairly new to this author and her work .She pulls you in from the beginning and it’s hard to stop listening. A storm brought them together but their worlds are keeping them apart. I highly recommend listening to this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give to much away. This is definitely worth listening to. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Reticent Hawke is Book #2 in the new Hawke Family Second Generation series by Gwyn McNamee. I was expecting to love this book, because hello, it’s Gwyn McNamee— but I really didn’t expect to FLOVE it so very very hard. Even having Ms. McNamee play her version of whac-a-mole and pinball with my heart and emotions – making me reach for the tissues, more than once- while I was sobbing my heart out and trying to read through all the tears — she wrung me out and I FLOVED every second! GAH, this is going to be a short review, because how can I ever hope to capture PERFECTION in a few short paragraphs??? Seriously, if you haven’t read this book yet, do yourself a favour and grab a copy and dive right in- you won’t regret it- I cannot recommend this book/series/author highly enough! I have to say that this book really surprised me. Cat did a wonderful job with the narration. Her inflection and voice brought each of the characters to life. I loved the premise and all of the detailed characters that came into Ally and Joe’s lives as they wound their way back to each other. I love finding great new authors and Cat Treadgold fits that bill. I’m looking forward to listening to the next book!

While finishing off at a festival she gets a call that her grandmother Mona is in hospital and she heads to Bendigo to be with her and that’s where she meets Christopher….let’s just say his reception was rather chilling ….
Christopher has demons of his own and he has misconceived ideas of Holly and who she is and her story let alone her relationship with her grandmother but there’s no mistake both of them love Mona ….
So Mona and Christopher were working with children on a garden , but the children all come from abusive backgrounds where the mother has died at the hand of the abuse and more often than not they saw it all go down and man my heart broke into a million pieces but there’s healing here and Holly is so good with the children and the gravitate towards her but Billy and Sophie have a special place in my heart and the relationship they share with Holly is just amazing 🥰
Watching Christopher ( Kit) discover Holly and the magic they share was beautiful but even more amazing was the garden and it’s healing and yes I cried alot but I also laughed a lot ( Jaffa reference 🤣🫣) there were some rather stressful and mail biting moments where I held my breath !

Content Warning: child abused/paedophilia. Indigo is a girl with a haunting past but a bright future. Gideon is her best friends brother, who is new to town and living in her guest house. When Indigo begins to receive threats regarding a new contract with work, her ex-army guest is the perfect person to keep her company. It’s got the best friends brother trope and the bodyguard trope! Indigo and Gideon have so much in common and have a really lovely friendship, which makes their love story all the better. The only issue I found was that sometimes it felt like the writing was telling rather than showing, which wasn’t needed because you could understand what was happening without it being explained. My favourite character was Indigo, although it’s hard to choose between her and Gideon. My least favourite character was Oliver. I recommend this book because Indigo’s story is an important story to tell and it’s inspiring to see her overcome her past. I also love a friends to lovers story. ‘He was my comfort spot, my safe space. My home.’

Broken is the second book in the Green St. Girls Series by ND Jackson. In this book, we get to follow Indigo and Gideon. This was a lovely story. I really enjoy getting to see more of the girls’ friendships. You get more of the well-crafted narrative. There is just the right amount of steam with the romance. It is lovely to see these young ladies get the love from each other and their love interests that they didn’t get in the past. These are some very emotional stories told in this series and I love every word of it.

I loved this book! This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. It takes place AFTER book 1, follows the story line of different but adjacent characters, and any information you need is given to you. If you’re the type of person who like to follow characters throughout a series, this book is for you! I was excited to hop into this one and figure out what was going on from the first book. This store is cute and light hearted and captures the story of a mysterious guy with a good heart. The characters are so relatable and its a very easy read!

Smooth Hoperator: A Fake-Relationship Romance (Love on Tap Book 2)
These Brooks brothers can’t be more different from one another. They each have their endearing qualities and Carter’s superpower is being a broody and quiet guy with an amazing awareness of right and wrong.
Sunny is the eternal optimist who refuses to see the bad in anyone and also will do anything to help people out to her detriment. She gets taken advantage of though I don’t think she felt that way because she loves to help any and every one.
There is such an interesting cast of characters in this book. Duke the paranoid old man, Sebastian the granola hippy next door and Mia the best friend just to name a few.
There are so many laughs throughout the book and a happy ending. Definitely what I have come to expect from Ms. Stewart. I’m really looking forward to the most entertaining Brooks brother, Miller. I have a feeling I won’t be able to put it down.
I loved this book and love the series. Ms. Stewart has a way to suck you in to the story in the best way.

This is the first book in the Code of Honor Series, focusing on Patience and Duke. A second chance romance between the two, both vastly different from who they used to be.
I really enjoyed this story, it was written wonderfully and flowed well creating an even more enjoyable reading experience. On top of the writing style, the author was able to create complex characters very well. Patience and Duke aren’t the people they were before, they’ve both been through trauma, and this shows in the way they are written for example in their mannerisms. I enjoyed following the pair not only in their journeys in discovering themselves once again, but also in the way they navigate their possible relationship. The emotions are tangible, gripping and will leave you rooting for the couple throughout.

Jude and Angelica…where to start? Forbidden love? Love from afar? 12 year age gap? I can understand why Jude stayed away but oh, my heart hurts for him being that lonely. These two have some issues to get through and they will. As the older one in the relationship, I’ll say it can feel different because society paints a jaded picture but pooh. Women can have younger men. My husband is 10 years younger. I was rooting for Angelica once she realized what she had. I was rooting for Jude all the way. Coming into a mafia family wasn’t easy. The Hawke’s were different. They are a family and love each other. Don’t hide it, talk to someone. Dealing with his agoraphobia didn’t help. This book left me feeling every emotion. I think it’s the best Hawke book ever (even though you’ll write more). I couldn’t put it down. This author writes and you feel her soul in the writing. The passion and emotion are in it. You feel like you are almost in the middle of the action. Best writing of the year. More than 5 stars if I were allowed to.

This is the first book in the Code of Honor Series and it definitely won’t be my last. The two main Characters are Patience and Duke who have been life long friends who happen to have spent one night together as teenagers. This story focuses on how they choose to pick up the pieces following their night. I truly loved how the author wrote these two characters as she showed the shift in their friendship very well as well as how they both chose to go forward in their friendship. The book takes place several years later and contains many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Truthfully, I could barely put this book down when I was reading it and managed to read it within two days. Patience was such an amazing character to me and I feel that she embodies that saying that I find myself uttering quite often. About how a frog doesn’t know its being cooked because they slowly bring the water to a boil around it, I feel like that describes how she feels when she looks at her life around her. I love how she feels that she needs to take a stand to regain herself as she remembers herself. Duke was also a very well written character. I loved how they both suffered from a broken heart. I loved this story and I loved these characters. I cannot wait to read more of the Code of Honor series and learn more about the people of Centennial, Montana. I definitely recommend this story as it was simply perfect in my opinion.

I am totally in love with this series and this talented, creative author! The Brooks family is qwerky, 100% relatable and real. They all weave their way into your heart so easily. This second book of the series is mainly about Carter and Sunny but you still have glimpses of the rest of the family. If you haven’t actually read book 1 don’t worry there is nothing stopping you from reading this book and fully enjoying it but I say read them all! I can’t wait for more from the Love on Tap series. I just know there is so much more fun to be had with these wonderful characters.

Another wonderful story in this series! Not as fun and funny as the first but still a good one. I love the family and all their quirks and of course I cant wait for Miller’s story as he seems the most rambunctious and entertaining of the three boys. Carter is more stoic and serious but his little librarian has all the stuff he is missing including but not limited to the outrageous octogenarian. I think I would have liked this more with less political entanglements as that seemed to pull out the more serious stuff.
Overall this is a cute story with fun sprinkled throughout. I look forward to Miller’s story and seeing what he has gotten into this time.

This is the second book of the Green St Girls but I believe it can be read as a stand-alone. I really like that Indigo is her own person and that the company is hers. I liked the idea of someone sending threatening letters and calls over this software I just didn’t like how the author tried to tie in her past in the threats. I’m glad indigo trusted Gideon enough to tell him about what happened to her and it helps us understand why she is so against finding a person. It just wasn’t believable that her father would be the person making threats. I really thought the relationship with Gideon and Indigo was cute, I’m glad they got a happy ending.

Reticent Hawke is the second book in the wonderful The Hawke Family Second Generation series. A forbidden romance best friend’s older sister trope. Gwyn is one of my favourites to say I was excited to see this book out is an understatement. I have read every book by Gwyn and have fallen in love with each and everyone but the Hawkes past and present have a special place in my heart. The second generation are here and are just as loveable. This page turner is full of tension and angst, secrets and lies, fear and danger and so much more. Reticent Hawke is just as fantastic as the others. Gwyn has a gift with her story telling and she intricately weaves multi layered and complex threads that are well written and well thought out. It is not hard to fall in love with the characters who are well developed and did I mention sexy. Told in different POV’s I love that we get a more comprehensive insight into these commanding characters. I am not going to give anything away you need to grab a copy and find out what happens for yourself because it is that good. Now I just must wait anxiously for the next instalment.

My second book from N.D Jackson, second in this series and this didn’t disappoint. Although it could technically be read as a stand alone, reading book one in the Green St. Girls series would give some background information. This book is focused on Indigo where the first focused on Athena. I am really impressed on how I am totally captured and sucked into Jackson’s writing. I feel all the emotions deeply. I do hope this series continues on with the other Green St Girls.

The author did an amazing job with Toni who recently let go of the past but thought that this vacation was going to help her but she met Mickey. Broken is a romance with a side of steam! Wow. Indigo is finding herself, healing herself, and making headway in love and business. The friendships, the love, the hot romance, the danger all kept me reading. I really liked the friendship aspect of this storyline – women helping each other to be strong and successful. This to me was the perfect romance novel… It had just the right amount of everything you want in a book, well written characters, good humor, a bit of suspense, and enough drama to keep you turning pages and wanting more. This is the first book in The Olympic Peninsula series. I enjoyed this book a lot as I live on the Olympic peninsula it is always fun to read about your own hometown. At one point in the book, they are just a half mile from my house… Definitely recommend and can’t wait to read the next book.

This is the second book in the Love on Tap series, which focuses on Sunny and Carter. This can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend going back to read the first one, it’s great.
This is another brilliant book in the series, I love it just as much as the first! Once again, this is one I knew I’d love but it still exceeded my expectations. The humour is great, and the story is well-written and the characters well-constructed. The characters feel real and are relatable as they leap off the pages and their chemistry is perfect.
Another series to add to my favourites list, I love it so much and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

This is my first audio book by this author which I enjoyed listening to. The narrator kept the story engaging by using different tones. They had me wanting to know what would happen next with Ali and Joe. They are great, strong, connectable, engaging characters that made the story easy to listen to. There is great chemistry and growth with these two characters. I found this an entertaining audio book, one you don’t want to miss. I look forward to listening to other stories by this author. I highly recommend this audiobook,

Carter had a successful career in politics mapped out for him ever since High School and his first debate, but over the past year he has slowly become disillusion with the whole thing on Capitol Hill. When he discovers his mentor may have sold herself out for money and while trying to understand the dilemma he is in, he overhears a conversation that turns his whole world upside down and has him leaving DC and returning home to hide.
Once at home, he picks up his job with his brother in the Brewery as Brew master all while trying to investigate into what he overheard, but as this is becoming more and more dangerous he needs to be more careful, but researching at the library is becoming more difficult but when the Librarian decides to make him her pet project things are going to turn out ugly and dangerous.
Sunshine has always wanted to be a Librarian, she loves the facts and knowledge that is uncovered under her walls and when she spots a homeless man coming in every couple of weeks, she takes it upon herself to help him with what ever addiction he has, but as time goes on Sunny is drawn into a world of espionage, cover ups and danger, can she survive a) the bad guys and b) the attraction of the stranger in the Library.
Can Carter keep Sunny safe and his family, all while exposing the corruption on Capitol Hill.
Oh my, I love, love, love this author and this story is no different. This is a stand alone story regarding Carter and Sunny and is part of the Love on Tap Series. Carter in the first book was the brooding brother who sneaked around the brewery and not really interacting with anyone, so reading him in this book was a great insight into him as a person. Sunny was just the most brilliant sidekick to him with her optimistic outlook on life against the grey and pessimistic world of Carter where brilliant to read.
I can also appreciate the quirky characters as in Duke, Sunny’s grandfather and Knuckles the spy were hilarious to read and brought a light hearted feel to the story. As always Miller’s antics brought a smile and overall I loved all the secondary characters which just embrace the story and make it what it is.
There are some many questions which I hope are answered in the next books, like does Miller find out who’s following him? Does Gina and Duke have a thing going on? and what’s Lynne up to at college as there has to be a story there.

This is second book in the Love on Tap series. And I really enjoy these books. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. However after reading one you will definately want to read more.The author does a great job with the characters making them relatable and also likeable. Their personalities really jump off the pages. This is the story of Sunny and Carter. This is definstely an opposite attracts story as Sunny and Carter couldn’t be more different if they tired. Sunny is a happy soul. She always looks on the brightside of life. Her personality and love of life shines through in her choice of clothing. Sunny works as a librarian and definately sounds like someone I would like to be friends with. Carter returns home after leaving his political career. Carter seems like the brooding type and when he meets Sunny she is definately not his type. However as they spend more time together their relationship starts to progress and grow and Carter soon realises that Sunny is exactly what he needs to bring some sunshine back into his life again.
This is a slow burn romance with some parts that will make you laugh at the antics they get up to. You can feel their feelings grow as the story progresses and their connection is so strong you can’t help but read to see if they actually get together. What happens with the fake relationship between Carter and Sunny starts to feel more real than either of them thought it would.

The synopsis didn’t do this book justice. There’s so much love and fight in the story. So many lessons to learn. One of my fave books of the year so far. You’ll become attached to the characters fast. You’ll feel so many emotions. Maybe even shed a tear. I highly recommend this book.

As I stand to applaud another excellent addition to this series, I just have to say that the characters this author creates are …. human. They have fears, desires, hopes, dreams, regrets, disappointment, love, laughter, and anger. And they are beautiful, funny, real. Even the supporting characters are well done.
Just as the Brooks brothers are getting over their very weird and expensive surprise inspection, Carter realizes that it is so much more than a disrespected government official exerting their power. It all was too coincidental. All the bad stuff happening to his family was because of him, because of what Carter left behind when he fled DC. One mistakenly overheard conversation, one dirty politician, one career ruined. Unfortunately the ruined career was his. Now he had to find a way to protect his family.
Sunny is more than just a librarian. She is a granddaughter trying to care for her aging grandfather. She is a best friend trying not to be jealous of the loving relationship enjoyed by Mia. Sunny is more than a girl with a huge crush on the environmental activist next door. Sunny is most of all a woman trying to find that relationship that allows her to feel safe enough to reveal her big secret. When Sunny and Carter cross paths at the library, it is like she is invisible.
Carter unknowingly involves Sunny’s conspiracy-loving grandfather into his schemes to find a way to protect his family from the powers in DC. Sunny gets roped in because her grandfather can’t make the road trip to Memphis from Asheville to get answers, dirt, leverage needed to secure Carter’s family’s safety. As part of the deal, Carter agrees to give Sunny’s love interest a push in the right direction by pretending to be interested in Sunny. It works all too well. Tender moments shared. Riotous banter had. Even a little dream-inspired conversation. Throw in a couple cantankerous goats and you have yourself one heck of fun ride. Applause restart. Fabulous book!!

Another new to me author and another story I enjoyed. I have done most of my traveling through the books I read and I definitely enjoy the beach settings like in this one.
Toni is a little impulsive which isn’t always a good thing. This time it led her to going on a trip with a fairly new boyfriend, but she had no idea what to expect when they got there, though that room isn’t something many people would have expected.
Mickey and Toni lock eyes and the attraction was instant and deep. Neither knew what would happen but I can promise it wasn’t what ends up actually happening.
This was a cute story with some hot moments and I think the perfect length. It’s the perfect book to take with you for an afternoon at the pool.
