Vampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis – Review by Helen Dawkins

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoy just about everything Courtney Davis writes. She is so creative!

Vampires of Atlantis is such a fresh and interesting perspective and so creative. The vampires are the only thing that stands in the way of protecting humans from the vicious monsters. Long ago, in order to keep the human race safe, they sunk Atlantis with the Vampires to guard over a magical spelled prison in the Bermuda Triangle. While the Vampires do need to feed, they used to feed off of the Descendants of Atlantis. That is until they were sick of being controlled, and they fled Atlantis before it sunk. Now, Ian (Vampire King) is in Miami searching for not only an escaped prisoner but also his older brother who is up to no good. He was then sidetracked when he smelled the most sweetest scent, Katherine. In his effort to capture Norgis, he came across an almost dead Katherine. Ian would not settle for anything less than nursing her back to health. It was soon after he realized she was his mate. Throw in vicious werewolves, an almost extinct crazy vampire killing Aristotle Society, and lots of misunderstanding.

I absolutely loved Ian and Katherine. Both were incredibly strong and kind, but I wish there was MORE. I felt there were a good bit of subplots that ended up unfinished. Lots of unanswered questions.

Did Katherine find the Blood Moonstone?
What happened to Sorcha and Samson?
What happened to the two werewolves now in the Aristole Society’s cages?
Did anyone care that Katherine “died”? Where is her friend?
Who has the descendant stone now?
What is now happening with the descendants?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even with the unanswered questions. My only criticism is how many loose ends there are. Courtney Davis has an amazing and creative mind, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next! I definitely recommend this book!

Back again to read a story by author Courtney Davis the first being Princess of Prias( i would definitely go read that it’s awesome) So after the author came out with this book I just I knew I had to read which is perfect because I’ve been obsessed with all things Atlantean since reading the dark hunter series.I made quick work of this book lol Courtney Davis has yet again built an amazing world that i’m reluctant to leave🥰🤣.I love the way the author did an intriguing mix of lore and myths. And with werewolves, vampires and humans what not to love lmao. Now here I am waiting not so patiently for the next part of this series. In the meantime I’m going to go check out another book by her called werewolf in womens clothes. It looks like it will be a really good wolf story.

This was such a great mixture of the paranormal/fantasy and romance which exceeded my expectations. There are so many vampire books out there that they all kind of blend together after a while. This one will definitely stand out in the crowd. I enjoyed that the legend of Atlantis was told a little differently as well. The flow of the story is natural and keeps you engaged throughout the book. Reading about Ian and Katherine threw some unexpected moments at me, but I loved every moment of it. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us, because they have got me hooked!

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vampires of Atlantis is book one in the Atlantis series. It is a paranormal romance that centers around the characters of Ian and Katherine and is told from each of their POV. Ian is a vampire Prince from Atlantis who has been dwelling under the surface since Atlantis sank. His job is to protect the humans from any of the numerous monsters that might escape from Atlantis where they have been trapped. Ian finds himself back on the surface after 1000 years as he tries to track an escaped monster named Norgis. As Ian tracks the monster, he comes across Katherine who has been attacked and is near death. Uncertain of who is after this woman he feels that Norgis is somehow involved and must be after her for a reason. Something about this woman attracts him to her and calls to his soul. Ian decides to take Katherine back with him where she will be safe and can heal.

When Katherine wakes up, she finds herself in a strange place with a strange, but handsome, man. She begins to remember the attack on her life and tells Ian, who realizes that a precious artifact has been stolen and must be saved. The mission is no longer about finding Norgis, it is now about finding the descendant stone and returning it to its rightful place. They now must battle true evil for the survival of the Descendants of Atlantis. Ian feels a strong connection to Katherine, but can he ever have a true relationship with this woman from the surface?

This was a great book with a mesmerizing storyline, vivid scene descriptions, and interesting characters. Ian and Katherine are from two very different worlds but must join forces to save both of their worlds from true evil. Both are strong in their own respect. Ian can be overbearing at times, but Katherine stands her ground. The attraction between them is intriguing and I continued reading to see how or if a relationship between Ian and Katherine would be feasible. I found the premise of an underwater world filled with trapped monsters to be interesting and creative. This book had supernatural elements, vampires, monsters, danger, action, suspense, chemistry, romance, and the classic battle of good versus evil. A must read!

I really enjoyed the concepts that this author introduced in this novel. The unique story of Atlantis and the different origins of vampires and werewolves was fascinating and definitely kept my attention. I loved Davis’s worldbuilding and descriptions; however, there were times I wished she had spent a little more time on her character development. I liked the characters (they are very unique) and I sort of connected with them, but, overall, I found them shallow and lacking depth and background. I really enjoyed the premise of this book and I felt like the plot line moved along at a fairly decent pace. There were a few times I felt rushed but overall I think it was well done. I’m definitely looking forward to reading another of Ms. Davis’s books.

Vampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis – Review by Santana Hicks

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ian is a vampire Prince from Atlantis. Protector of humans. When Atlantis sank, it had a prison filled with all kinds of monsters. When one escapes, Ian has to go to the surface to hunt it down. It had been years since Ian had been to the surface and struggled with how women dressed and acted in this time.

While on the trail of the monster named Norgis, Ian comes across a scent of a woman, named Katherine, that compels him to her instantly. He ends up following her trail instead. Soon he finds out that whatever Norgis is after, this woman seems to be involved somehow. Finding Katherine near death, Ian decides to take her to safety and heal her. Norgis is not known for his intelligence so Ian thinks there is someone else pulling Norgis’ strings.

A few days later, Katherine awakens and has no idea where she is or who this handsome man is in the room with her. When the memories of the attack flood back in her mind, she realizes that this man saved her. She tells Ian what she remembers and what the monster was after. Instantly, everything changes. The descendent stone is a very powerful artifact and now someone has it. Ian needs to find it before it is used all while protecting Katherine who he has now considered his mate.

At first, I thought the relationship between the two characters was going to be stockholm vibes but it’s not. Katherine is a strong, independent woman who isn’t afraid to voice her thoughts and feelings. Ian is out of his element with this female. Although he is swoonworthy, she holds her own and demands to be treated as an equal. I loved that about her.

I have read a couple other books by this author and they have written a masterpiece once again. The synopsis is quite unique and excitable. I have a lot of questions about some of the background things that were left unfinished but I expect they will be touched in the next book in the series (which I will be reading as soon as it comes out!).

This book captivated me from the very beginning, and I read it as fast as I could. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way thought. It was so well written I really felt like I was running along with Ian and Katherine. These two characters are extremely well written and fit in this story very well. The chemistry in this book will maybe make you blush and hold your pearls, but it goes so well in this book. The idea of Atlantis as a prison for the supernatural really was intriguing, I love the way authors spin a few tales in that could very well make sense. The writing of this book flowed nicely and is very disruptive. It’s a fast-paced paranormal romance filled with vampires, monsters, danger, drama, chemistry, action, adventure, suspense that it really was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.

I thought this was a really awesome start to a great series! I loved getting to see Ian and Katherine’s story play out and I am so excited to see more of them and the rest of the vampires, werewolves, and other magical creatures. This was definitely a book I couldn’t put down until the final page. The author has created a magical world where mythical creatures still exist and Atlantis is real. I thought she did a great job of really drawing you into the story and building scenes that you could really visualize. If you love a modern paranormal romance, this is an excellent start! This is an intriguing book that has a unique take on the legend of Atlantis. It was great how the author took a topic well known and turn it into something different. I became invested in this story very quickly and couldn’t wait to see how things would turn out. The story was exciting and full of ‘monsters’ and fantasy.
This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author but I think it is my favourite so far. I loved the new perspective and I thought the story itself was well written and engaging. The characters all added even more to the story and I enjoyed how they each played their part. This is a great book and I am looking forward to more of this authors work.

I love the fact that Katherine isn’t a pushover and I can definitely relate to her character. The story moves pretty quickly and keeps you hooked from the beginning. First book in the Atlantis series, Vampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis.

This book is about a mission and when Ian breaks topside he intends to complete that mission that night in hopes to be back home before sunrise, and things take a drastic but thrilling turn.

This storyline is about the course of a week maybe two and projects Ian and his love interests point of views.

This was definitely a gem, I went into this book with no expectations. At first I didn’t know what to think of it until everything started to fall in to place. The character building was there, and the world building was straight cut and to the point which I enjoyed which made getting to the good stuff that much faster.

Courtney Davis did a phenomenal job, she took a paranormal genre with delicate balance and made it more. It wasn’t just a book solely attached to one supernatural/ folklore/ mythic species but multiple which was refreshing.

This paranormal romance will have you breathing rapidly, maybe a little erratic with hair pulling, but also loving every bit of it. I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to more this author has to offer.

This is the first book in the Atlantis series, on the shorter side but interesting nonetheless. The genre is right up my alley, paranormal romances – throw them all at me!

Firstly, I absolutely loved the concept and plot – using Atlantis as a prison for supernatural creatures! It was a brilliant idea and the story behind it all was great!
However, having said that, there were times that I felt there was something lacking. This doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy this book, because I did, but I think it would have been better with more in-depth character and world building/background. I feel that if the book was a little longer this may have come together naturally but overall, it’s still very enjoyable and I’m hoping these gaps will be addressed in future books.

The author’s writing style flows nicely and is clear which made falling into the story that much easier.

I loved the plot and this was well-written, despite the issues I had with it, and this series shows potential to enter my favourites. I look forward to the next book and will look out for more from this author in the meantime!

I really enjoyed this story. The story has so many creatures to keep my imagination overflowing.

Katherine is a human who works at a museum cataloging artifacts. When a monster escapes from Altantis to the human world, she is attacked and she has no idea why. She wakes to Ian the (King) of Altantis who has healed her as much as he could.

He finds himself extremely drawn to her and is irrationally feeling he can never let her go. The feeling to protect and possess her is very strong. Katerine is a strong stubborn woman and won’t put up with being told what to do. Ian will learn this lesson the hard way as they both try to figure out what is so special about an artifact the beast from Atlantis is trying to find.

The story will keep you glued to the pages to find out how the twists and turns are all resolved.

“Ian hated leaving the water, his home and purpose in life, or death, depending on how you wanted to look at it. He was a vampire of Atlantis, a city sunken to contain monsters that had once threatened the lives of all on land. The horrible beasts that preyed on humans without thought or mercy. Vampires may have sipped from the humans, but it wasn’t thoughtless, and it wasn’t violent. The vampires were royalty, they were the chosen ones, they were the protectors, the warriors… and in return, they were given blood offerings. It was a small price for the humans to pay for their safety. The city was sunk into what was now called The Bermuda Triangle and for 12,000 years the vampires had done their job perfectly despite being betrayed and forgotten by the humans, and for the last five hundred years, Ian had been in charge. Nothing had gone wrong. Until now.”

Vampires of Atlantis is the first captivating story in the new Atlantis series by the ever-talented Courtney Davis. It is an incredible fantasy/paranormal romance with vampires, monsters, good vs evil, agendas, danger, drama, secrets, emotion, chemistry, originality, fantastic world-building, chemistry, supernatural elements, high stakes, action, adventure, tension, intrigue, suspense, interesting/quirky characters, and so much more.
What happens when a monster escapes the watery depths of Atlantis into the mortal world? Ian, Vampire Prince of Atlantis, is hot on the trail and is determined to recapture it before things get out of hand. But things take an intriguing turn when Ian is drawn to Katherine almost as soon as he sets foot on land. What happens you might ask? Well, you really should read all the addictive details for yourself as I don’t want to spoil a single moment for you. Dive in, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
I am excited to see what awaits us in Book #2! Bring it on!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Courtney Davis!

Vampires of Atlantis is a fun, interesting, paranormal read. Courtney Davis combines folklore and myths surrounding Atlantis with vampires, monsters, werewolves, humans, and other paranormal beings in this original story. While the idea of the story is very intriguing and the book itself is easy to read, I felt like some pieces were missing. The characters were one-of-a-kind, but it seemed like they didn’t have much of a backstory and seemed rather shallow. I did enjoy Courtney Davis’s world building and felt myself transported to the underwater world of Atlantis or the steamy streets of Miami. The end of the book did feel a bit rushed and it almost felt as if things were left up in the air. Overall, a good, quick read with lots of drama and suspense.

I found this book to be an interesting story to read. This is not my first book by this author but it is one I enjoyed the most. I enjoyed how the author used details to give the story a realistic feel, as if you are part of the story. This is a story about Ian and his quest to save the Descendants of Atlantis from a monster and his queen. But what will happen when he saves a woman from death? What will happen when she finds out what he really is? I really enjoyed both of these characters. They bring life to the story and make it easy to read. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as the plot’s growth throughout the story. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. This is a great story and I highly recommend it.

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Above the waterline. While this is the second book I have read by the incredible Courtney Davis, this book is a completely different universe as the other. Told from Ian and Katherine’s perspectives it isn’t a designated chapter but chapter thing, but it is easy to tell when the switch happens.
Ian is a vampire, once treated as royalty by humans and blood offerings made to them for their protection they are now long forgotten by the modern world. Katherine has worked at the local museum in Miami for the past decade, her heart and soul consumed so much that her ex claimed she loved her job more than him. A thousand years have passed since Ian was above the waterline on land, for the past five hundred years he has been the leader of his people guarding the prisons of Atlantis in the Bermuda Triangle. Norgis has escaped, something that has never happened in the 900 thousand years since Atlantis was sunk. Being the first time, it has ever happened he feels it is his job to hunt and return it to its cell. Only in the blink of an eye his mission changes he no longer seeks for the monster but for the woman who makes his blood run hot and calls to his soul. Katherine can feel his stare when she is near but struggles to see into the shadows to find him.
Did Norgis escape or was he released? Can Ian win the heart of Katherine? Will they get a chance to be happy or will Norgis succeed in his plan? The world while based in our time is otherworldly, the mystery of history playing out in the shadows and the depths of the ocean. The characters are relatable and when an epic level romance is thrown in all you can do is hold on tight as you sink into the ocean to reveal the secrets long forgotten. I so hope that a second book to the Atlantis series comes soon I cannot wait to see what mysteries await next.

One thing I like about Courtney’s stories is that even though they are fantasy, paranormal, supernatural and romance tales they are as different as night and day and that keeps it interesting.
Vampires of Atlantis is the first book in the Atlantis Trilogy and is as original as it is refreshing. I found myself engrossed in this unique urban fantasy tale. Courtney has done it again and given us a story that is easy to get lost in and invested in the outcome.
Atlantis, vampires, werewolves and other creatures are woven together in this tangled web of survival. I love that the Courtney makes things realistic but in a paranormal way. The world building that has been created where Vampires dwell is easily imagined and is only limited by one’s imagination. Getting to explore the nuances of Atlantis, the lore and treasures is just as intriguing.
Its tale is told from dual POV, so you get a much more in depth look at the characters and the world they belong in. There is violence, a little sexiness, and insta love.
Katherine was left for dead, but a stranger helped her. Now she is faced with a decision to help the person who helped her. To face danger in a battle for survival of the Descendants of Atlantis from a true evil.
I hope this is a start to a new series.
As always, I am looking forward to more from the talented Ms Courtney and the Atlantis Trilogy. Bring on the second book Aristotle’s Wolves.

Courtney Davis has such an easy to read writing style that I get completely immersed in her books every time. With her phenomenal character building and interesting twists on fantasy classics like angels, demons, and fae, she has definitely become one of my go-to authors to follow.

Jade literally has her whole life turned upside down as she enters witness protection in order to be safe from her abusive ex who wants her dead. As if having to adapt to a new place, name, and life isn’t enough, she is faced with the dilemma of trying to figure out if she can trust Baal, the high-level demon from Hell who showed up and also wants her dead, or at least he did. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, causing Baal to second guess his agenda of murdering her because of the prophecy tying them together. Are prophecies set in stone or can they be changed? Can you really trust a demon? Can Jade figure out and come to terms with this new world she’s been thrust into? Can a demon like Baal really love someone or will his goals of freeing his sister and reclaiming the throne of Hell overpower his attraction and developing feelings for Jade? This is an exciting, fun, fast-paced fantasy paranormal read that will have you glued to the pages. I was honestly sad to see it end and can only hope for more amazing reads like this.

Awakening. This is the first book I have read by the talented Courtney Davis and oh boy do I still have chills. Told from a dual perspective, Jade, and Baal. A perfect representation of making your own fate in many ways, not following the “order” of things because its prophesied.
Jade is a 30-year-old female that has finally broken free of her abusive, mobster ex by way of turning into a federal witness to his many crimes. Baal is the first King of Hell and is determined to get his throne back and live to see his sister free. Her parents died in a car accident when she was eighteen years old, just as she was beginning her adulthood, but little things she remembers them doing odd habits and almost ritualistic ways begin to make sense after she wakes up to a stranger who vanishes. Baal goes to investigate the old antique shop when his warding’s indicates that someone is present and it’s not a human. Seeing her laying in bed knowing who she is according to the prophecy he knows he should kill her but then an opportunity arises. He has no time to dance around truths or to be gentle with the world-shattering news, telling Jade he knows she is not related to the late Mr. Williams, saying “the Williams family blood stinks of old troll magic. You smell delicious, and pure like freshly fallen snow.” Jade’s parents had a very powerful binding spell placed on her at birth to hide her powers from all including herself. With a rare set of powers unlocked in Jade, Baal is more and more intrigued with her knowing she can be more useful than he ever expected. The only thing that saved her life the moment Baal wanted to kill her was her ignorance, not knowing who or what he was, and not knowing what she is. His blood calling her me makes a promise to her while she is sleeping that she eventually will be his. She feels ignited in many ways; feels alive every time he touches her no matter how innocent the touch is. The only thing driving them is their goals, his having the book translated, and return to his rightful place; her goal is to survive her evil ex and all his associates that won’t hesitate to end her the moment they find her.
Will Jade learn the truth of who she is? Can Baal hold up his part of the deal to protect her from all dangers, human and not? Prophecies are meant to be broken right? The world the author creates is so original, yes, the world itself is reality but all the hidden parts not only in the shadows but in the light. Seamlessly the author weaves reality into fantasy with the plot and every little twist and turn the story takes. I have been terrified of snakes for as long as I can remember but now, I must admit I am crushing on Baal, the best crushes are the fictional ones. I cannot wait to dive into more of her work and discover another world of her creation.
