This is my first read by this author, and not knowing what to expect, I dove into this read with an open mind and thoroughly enjoyed it! It is a well-written read with a brilliant storyline and great characters to go alongside it. It is suspenseful and has you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series, but I highly recommend this read!

SPOUSE TRAP: Madeline Dawkins Mysteries (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton was an intriguing and exciting read. Madeline is accused of cheating when her husband shares pictures of her having a so called affair. Madeline claims something fishy occurred and that she did not. So much more was behind what really happened.
I felt that the story easily pulled me in as a reader with the opening scene. Madeline was overwhelmed and trying to figure out what was going on. This scene easily transitioned into her trying to figure it out. I was amazed with her character and the development she experienced as the story progressed. It was easily enjoyable and realistic. Great read!

Night Justice by India Kells is an amazing 5 star read! I was hooked from the very first page, and couldn’t help but binge the whole thing in one sitting! I adored the character relationships in this book, and just overall loved the way it was written! I recommend this for anyone who is a fan of dark romance, and suspense! This is my first book by Cynthia Hamilton, and I have just found my new favorite crime author! It was awesome. Characters are amazing. I LOVE Madeline. I had emotions for all the characters we’re supposed to. There are some background characters that weren’t mentioned much- but I have a feeling, they’ll be in the future novels. I knew I wanted to read this from the synopsis, and I was not disappointed. Great word building and plots that balance out. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down.

This was a book full of drama, action, suspense and romance, it also has a sassy heroine and a strong hero who’s chemistry sizzled off the page and led to plenty of steamy scenes. I was hooked from page one, reporter Orla Karlsen is determined to track down and prevent the distribution of a new drug in Chicago. She is even prepared to enter the underworld of Chicago, however she’s not alone as the ‘Vigilante’ has also sworn to protect the city. Their common quest sees the reporter and the masked man working closely together and sparks start to fly but when they both enter dangerous territory will they fight together or apart. No spoilers, this was an exciting read and I thoroughly recommend this first novel in India Kells new series.

Night Justice by India Kells is the first book in the Chicago Vigilante Series. This book is dark and suspenseful and so exciting. It had me on the edge of my seat so many times, quickly turning pages, desperate to find out what was going to happen. The story is so well developed, and I loved the fact it gave me a “Batman” type feel to it. I was gripped by this book the whole way through and really didn’t want it to end. I am excited to see what else is to come from this series!

This was a great fast paced story that i couldnt put down.
Madeline has a life most women dream of. She’s rich, has a beautiful home and a wealthy and successful husband.
However all that changes when she wakes up in a hotel room, naked and alone. She thinks she just got drunk and stayed the night but the truth is so much worse. When her husband brings proof of her cheating on him that night she is devastated as she doesnt remember a thing. Did she willingly do that or was something else entirely.
As she starts investigating she realises nothing is what she thinks and her husband who she thought loved her is a nasty piece of work.
She now has to fight to save her life as she knows it and to prove all the gossip wrong.

This is an exciting read full of action and crime taking you to a world similar to our own but with a twist. A reporter is on the bend to help the city overcome drugs. There’s also a guy called Vigilante issuing his own dose of justice to those perps but he’s been using Orla Karlsen, the reporter, to get the info he needs to prevail. The two must work together to dismantle the dishonesty, influence and viciousness. The more Orla learns about the man behind the mask, the more she wants to help him. As she realizes his true intentions for the love of the city, she waivors her past assumptions. Allegiances and aspirations are challenged when they give into the unquestionable temptation of one another as they can’t fight how they feel. Orla has given her heart and body to Vigilante but fights to gain his assurance. There’s so much on the line as Vigilante doesn’t know what to trust — the bond he created with her or to protect his own secrets by sacrificing her? This was a great read with steamy scenes and action that keeps your heart racing. The mystery of which way Vigilante will turn will keep the suspense pounding.

I loved this book. This is the 3rd book in the series and can be read as a standalone. Although, I would recommend readers to read the first two books as well because they’re really good too. This books kept me in edge, biting my nails because I was on the edge. It is well wirtten and I loved the attention to detail. This story is very fast paced and I was egar to see what was going to happen. I would recommend this abyine to that liked thriller novels. This latest book from Kells was one I knew I would love. And I was SO right. Just an amazing detailed ride full of action, suspense, and romance with that just the right amount of darkness seeping in. Kells has an eye for detail that provides the reader with a beautiful tapestry that is a feast for the soul. She is absolutely a one click author and Night Justice is another wonderful example of her masterful writing skill. Loved every page and will definitely recommend highly.

I can’t begin to describe how immediately transported I felt as I read this book. I was breathless the entire time and immersed into this world that was real and tangible. The storyline was so well developed I was certain it was true. Ullman completely left me spellbound with the crime drama. I simply cannot say more without giving it away. This story pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the shocking ending. This is the story of a crime reporter that re-investigates the murder of Leah Marcus 10 years after it occurred. Her boyfriend has already been tried for the crime. However, the crime took place during the race riots of 2001, and the re-investigation uncovers times when classism, racism, and sexism may have swayed opinions of what really happened.
After getting used to the amount of backstory and facts laid out, I found myself intrigued by all the details and trying to figure out what actually happened. I do not want to give anything away. It is a really good read that is worth the time invested!

Based on true events, this book is focused on the murder of a young victim. This book had me absolutely hooked right from the first page! I don’t usually read true crime stories, but i was definitely not disappointed. The author has done an incredible job of making it a story worth reading, while also keeping it clear that this is about a something that actually happened. This is such a very well written book, and I would highly recommend it!

Madeline is part of the perfect Santa Barbara IT couple, she is a experienced event planner and she has planning this Charity Ball for a year and is nervous for everything to go right. The night of the ball she has the right dress, the most handsome man by her side nothing could go wrong but her whole world comes crashing down.
As she dances with the handsome stranger her husband becomes more agitated and they have a huge argument and he storms out of the ball, but as a true host Madeline stays and hosts the rest of the charity ball. The next morning the reality sets in, she wakes up in a strange room within the hotel, de-shelved and naked. Once she has got herself together she departs and gets home to her husband who is still mad and demands to know where she has been when she tells him that she does not remember the night he produces photographs of her in uncompromising positions with the stranger at the party.
This leaves her homeless and going to broke if she does not try to get to the bottom what is going on, with the help of a PI Burt she uncovers the dirty truth behind the really reasons and will she survive this discovery.
OMG first of all this story was full of intrigue and twists and turns, I could not put this book down. The character of Madeline at first I was not sure but as the story got more intense her true character shone and I felt like in the end living through the trails and strength she had to dig deep to try and move on with her life. I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next book for this brilliant writer.

Orla is a reporter who has a story to write to uncover who is causing the drugs to be pushed onto the streets of Chicago but as she delves deeper into the underworld of the city she becomes a target and when she feels like she is being follows she knows she is on the right line.
Following a lead to a pub she meets her “Angel” but he is the vigilante running through the streets defending the people who can’t. After understanding they are both working towards the same goal of trying to get this new drug of the streets they decide to combine forces to achieve there goal, but they both do not understand the chemistry between them and they start feeling that the can’t go a day without seeing each other. Could love survive a underworld battle?
If you enjoy a story with action, thrilling story line and well developed characters you will enjoy this book. The chemistry between the two characters was excellent and the story was well executed too, full of excitement and action. This is the first story I have read by this author and would definitely recommend this story and I will be checking out the other stories in her catalogue.

And the River Runs deep is my first experience with A.J Ullman’s writing and a different feel of book than I am used to reading. Throughout the book there are several facts shared, while it was informative and well written, it at times felt too… factual. Overall, I enjoyed the book and was incredibly wrapped up in the case. And The River Runs Deep is a true crime novel by AJ Ullman. Leah Marcus was a seventeen year old school girl with her whole life planned. She was going to make music, she was going to save lives, she was going to bring joy to those close to her. She never got to do any of these things. Leah was found, in her bedroom, brutally murdered. The novel is written from the point of view of a journalist who reinvestigates the murder case ten years later. It is so ‘factual’ that I had to check that this wasn’t in fact a true story (despite having novel in the title). For me, this style of writing is completely different to what I’m used to. I found it a bit difficult to get used to at first, with lengthy descriptions of the area in which it’s set, but once I got used to it, it was very enjoyable. The story is set against the backdrop of the Cincinnati 2001 race riots, where tensions, emotions and tempers are already running high. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, but I will say that this is a book you need to read right to the very end.

Spouse Trap is the first book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. This book had me hooked from the very first page. I stayed up way to late at night to finish it, but it was well worth the lack of sleep. I enjoyed the writing style and the character growth throughout the book was great. Madeline is strong willed and very detail oriented. I love how she works things out in the case of her ruined marriage. I would highly recommend this book and look forward to getting the next book in the series.

I love a book that keeps me on the edge of my seat and guessing until the very end. This author knows how to to keep me coming back time and again for more of her amazingly written stories! The characters all pull you in deeper and deeper making you try to savor every single page. Libby is such a strong character that I really felt a connection and I loved every minute of it. This is a dark romance suspense book that I loved from beginning to end. This is an author that I have read many books from, she continues to impress me with her attention to details in her stories. I was pulled right into this story from the beginning with the characters. I had no problem connecting with them and they made the story feel real. Orla is a reporter that is determined to find out two things: 1. Stop the distribution of a new drug, 2. Find the vigilante who has their own brand of justice. The vigilante and Orla have a couple of things in common, stopping this new drug and each other. She needs to learn to trust him but will she? Is love enough to survive or will secrets take them down? I loved both of these characters and their chemistry is off the charts. They had me turning pages fast as well as the twist and turns you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This novel was written as true crime story so there was lots of information given but for me there was just too much information it made the book hard to read for me and I kept wanting to skip lots of the book, I didn’t really like the style of writing and all in the book just wasn’t for me at all, but others may find it enjoyable.

And The River Runs Deep: The Cold Case Murder Mystery of Leah Marcus by A.J. Ullman is a gripping novel. Based on true events this book is focused on the murder of a young teen girl and the lives of those caught up in the event. This book had me absolutely hooked right from the start. I love true crime stories and this has got to be one of the most intriguing I have read. The author has done an incredible job of making it a story worth reading while also keeping it clear that this is about a real person. It was so easy to connect with all the characters. I was instantly part of the story. I liked even more that this is a case I hasn’t heard of before so I had no clue as to what the outcome would be. This is such a well written and unputdownable book, I would highly recommend it!

Spouse Trap starts out with the main character, Madeline, waking up in a hotel room with no idea how she got there or what happened. She goes home only to be confronted by her husband claiming she cheated on him, he has evidence, and their marriage is over. Determined to prove her innocence, Madeline searches for clues as to what actually happened that night. As the pieces start coming together, a picture is painted that is full of treachery and deceit that rocks her to the core. As she continues to figure out the whole picture, she finds herself in situation where her sanity and life are in danger. Without giving anything away, you will find yourself at the edge of your seat wondering how she is going to get through it all.
This book hooked me from the beginning. I found myself rooting for Madeline and watching her evolve as the story goes on. Instead of lying down and taking what the world is throwing at her, she stands up and fights while finding out she is stronger than they thought she was. A great story that is thrilling and full of suspense. I enjoyed every second of it!

I loved reading the book Night Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 1) by India Kells. It is a story that includes action, danger, and romance. It is a book that is entertaining and highly addictive to read. I love the character of Orla Karlsen. She is a reporter who is intelligent, strong, independent, and a fighter. She is working on a story about a new drug that is about to overtake Chicago. Her second agenda is trying to uncover a person who is dispensing their own type of justice, the Vigilante. The Vigilante is also trying to stop the same new drug from claiming lives. They both have a common goal. They start working together. There is a connection forming between them. They can’t seem to stay away from each other. What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. I love that this story has a strong female character who won’t back down and is determined to find the truth about the drug that is coming to Chicago. You can’t help but root for her to succeed. Other characters interact with Orla and the Vigilante and I enjoyed reading about them. Then there are the characters who don’t care who they hurt. Will their plans succeed? This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what happens next and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the final page. I highly recommend reading it.
