It’s pure white, deep blue… and dirty all over.

Nam Ton ware – centuries-old ceramics from Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle – captivated the DeWitt Agency’s tech-tycoon client. Now Immigration and Customs Enforcement is on his case for buying smuggled antiquities. To get immunity, he’s hired the agency to run an off-books investigation into Nam Ton’s source.

Disgraced ex-L.A. gallerist and ex-con Matt Friedrich is in charge. If he finishes within sixty days, he’ll earn an early end to his probation. If he doesn’t, he may go back to prison for bending the federal criminal code into a pretzel.

Soon enough, Matt’s in San Francisco, getting tight with Savannah, the client’s beautiful art advisor, to scam his way into the smuggling operation. As the burglary, blackmail, tax evasion and customs fraud piles up and Matt finds himself sandwiched in a federal turf war, he realizes he’s in way over his head with no good way out. And that’s before he ends up in a real live jungle.

Matt’s dealing with a type of art he knows nothing about from an area he’s seen only in war movies. Now the fate of some trafficked pottery may decide whether Matt gets his freedom… or spends a long stretch in a concrete cell.

This was my first book by this author and my goodness what a thrilling ride I was taken on. I felt for Isaac and how all he wanted to do was move on from his past, but life has other plans. I couldn’t flip pages fast enough to see what was going to come next. This is a crime book so the bloody scenes were expected and didn’t bother me at all. I look forward to more book by this author. Highly recommend this book.

I found this book to be intense, emotional, with danger never far behind the characters. I was pulled into the story from the start and didn’t want to put it down. I enjoyed reading about the character Isaac Reid. He finds himself having to make a choice that is hard to make. I could really feel the conflict that is felt by Isaac. I found my emotions going up and down. In this book there are characters and decisions that are more shades of gray than clear cut. The book is very detailed and I felt like I was there with the characters. Don’t miss out on a fast-paced journey. I would recommend reading it.

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a suspense story that pulled me in from the first page. The characters brought the story to life. I will be going back to read the previous books in this series as DI Miller is an interesting character. This story has two different cases going on at the same time, a murder and a missing persons. DI Miller has determination in solving these cases. I highly recommend reading this book, find out if she does.

Pigs by Daniel James is a great thriller. He has created a great plot line for his characters. James also created complex-complicated characters. He shares his characters back stories and builds from there. This story is a page turner/roller coaster ride. Just when I thought things were going to the right, it takes a sharp left and back to the right again. In this story is about Isaac Reid who has served time because of a robbery of a family who was left for dead. All Reid wants is to get back to his wife and young child. Reid just wants to be a normal family but that my friends is where the plot thickens. Will he have is happy reunion or will there be revenge in his future? You will have to read the story to get the answer to that question.

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2)Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller by David Stever
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Meet Johnny Delarosa, ex-cop turned PI in this gripping thriller, Toxic Blonde, by David Stever. It is the second book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller Series, but can be read as a standalone- having said that though, the first book is a great read and a fantastic introduction this series. I thought it would be hard to top the first book, but this one is even better, and now my firm favourite of the two.
This is a detective story with a great mystery, twists and turns, layers to reveal, thrilling developments, gripping tension- and plenty of suspense, drama, intrigue, and a superb cast of characters- with enough action to keep things moving along at a great pace. As with the first book, I was hooked from the start and devoured it in one sitting- as the story wouldn’t let me leave. I really needed to know how things would unfold and how it all played out in the end- and it was everything I had hoped for- and more. Then add a devious, cunning and brutal femme fatale, espionage, secrets, the Russian Mob, and the FBI- and feel the intensity level rise dramatically.
The story starts with Johnny taking on what he thinks will be a routine investigation into a cheating spouse- but soon discovers that there is so much more to the situation than he could have ever anticipated. Things take a dangerous turn, and Johnny will need to keep his wits about him. I won’t go into anymore detail, as I don’t want to spoil it for you- suffice to say that if you love a thrilling mystery, with intriguing characters and a gripping storyline- then you really should grab yourself a copy of Toxic Blonde.
Mike and Katie, who we’ve met previously- really round out the cast superbly. I love the dynamic between the characters. I also loved the addition of Eric to this story- I really hope he becomes a regular in the following books. The femme fatale was everything we were promised, and more. She’s quite a piece of work. Well thought out, and cleverly crafted!
I can’t wait to dive into book #3!

Thank you, Mr. Stever!

5-Stars

Toxic Blonde (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 2) by David Stever was an excellent, exciting, and invigorating mystery/crime novel! I was hooked from the start and having read book one, I think I have a new favorite in the series. I loved the various characters and how each of them tied into the story. They were organized and developed well. I had no issues imagining them as I read. I also loved how much detail the author out into describing the settings. When one would change to another, he would provide ample detail where you could almost hear, feel, and see everything the character was. I loved it and felt it really helped make the story.

The story itself was wonderful. The chapter’s were organized and set appropriately. The story had an. Easy flow, twists, and magnificent plot. It is easy for readers to get lost in. If you have not read anything from this author, I recommend you check him out. This book was amazing and is part of an invigorating, gripping, and fun crime series. Highly recommended, 5-stars.

I love a good thriller and it feels like forever since one hooked me like this one did! This book is pack with everything that you would want in any book! Action, suspense, and drama were all paced into this story. The one thing I do love is the secondary characters that David Stever writes. They always bring a new dimension to the story!

Johnny Delarosa is back at it again with an infidelity case, because cheating spouses pay the bills, but what he thinks is another classic boring case turns into something WAY more. This is one of those books you just want to dive into without too much information and let it suck you in! This book was the perfect binge read and I cannot wait for more!

Toxic Blonde was a great 5 star read and book two in The Delarosa Series. I enjoyed the first book in the series and I couldn’t wait to read this one.

Johnny is working on a new cheating case. HIs client is fearful and concerned her life is in danger. He learns from a family member that there may be more to the story than he originally thought. Moving forward the Russian Mafia and the FBI come into the story, making things much more interesting for Johnny.

Can he keep his client safe?

There were great secondary characters, we get to see Katie and Mike again and meet some new ones. We get lots of action, suspense, romance and so much more. I can’t wait to read more from this series. David pulls you right into the story and you won’t want to stop until your done. If you enjoy thrilling edge of your seat reads, this is your series. 5+++++ Stars

This is my second book by this author and as with the first I am totally in love with this series. This is my chosen genre and this author sits in the top with my other favorites and with the way this one ended I just know I will go crazy waiting for the next one.

This book brought back all my favorites and added a new favorite into the mix, or maybe two. I love the fast pace of this book, it is never boring and you never want to put it down. What started with a boring cheater case turned into so so much more and the constant twists and turns had me in heaven. I already want to read both of these again. I seriously hope the next book includes Eric as his quirkiness made this book that much better, and what is the status of one of our lead players, that text had me a bit confused and now my mind is going all over trying to figure out what the future holds for all of these people.

Loved it, you must read these in order, do not start with this one you will be missing vital parts of the story between these characters.

AMAZING!!

Toxic Blond is the second book in the series and PI Delarosa is back at it again. This story is full of all the good stuff… mystery, suspense and lots and lots of action. Delarosa picks up a case he thinks will be simple open and shut case, but that is so far from the truth. Two people he knows are caught up in the middle and it keeps getting messier and messier. Will he be able to solve this case before anyone gets seriously hurt?
The characters in this book are great. The author put a lot of detail in his characters and story I felt like I was solving the case right along with Delarosa. I would like to read more by this author and I would recommend this to anyone that likes a good mystery.
Happy Reading!

This is a great story! This is the second book in the series. It is just as thoroughly enjoyable as the first one. The story starts off pretty basic as far as PI work goes but something changes and it becomes everyone’s nightmare. The characters are full of life and charisma. We have quite a few new characters to enjoy as well as the old favorites (Mike, Johnny and Katie). I will mention that Eric is my most favorite new character in this story and I hope we haven’t seen the last of him.

This author has gone and surprised me with this thrilling story. I love reading about Johnny and his adventures. I never know what is going to happen next and that keeps me reading. This is a great series and I can’t wait to see what sort of trouble adopts Johnny In the next book.

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2) by David Stever is full of mystery and action, suspense and secrets. David takes us on a trip into a world where Russian spies, lies and deceit show how fickle some men can be. Espionage and a brutal femme fatale lead the gang on a wild chase where she is one step ahead. I enjoy the way David tells a story that is easy to lose yourself in. Just when you think you have it all worked out you are suddenly thrown off in another direction. I also love the humour that is woven in.

This is the 2nd book in the Delarosa series.

In this book we find Johnny on the case of a cheating spouse. However things aren’t as simple as they seem.
When his client Mary- Ann is run of the road in her car things start taking a dangerous twist.

Add into the mix, the fact her husband works for a company that has links with the DoD, he is having an affair with his colleague who is a pretty blonde but is also ruthless and deadly, and the FBI doing an investigation on them as well. It all makes Johnny’s routine cheating spouse gig a lot more complicated.

This story is an adventure that keeps you gripped from page one.

TOXIC BLONDE is book 2 in The Delarosa Series and can be read as a stand-alone.

Johnny Delarosa is a private investigator and because this book is told in first person, I find myself narrating it in the old timey detective voice. Very noir in nature. There are layers and twists and suspense and everything that makes a detective series good.

This is an enjoyable read that was easy to follow and I definitely recommend it.

Johnny Delarosa is described in such a great way that he is exactly as you picture an old time PI, he keeps the story going. The suspense is done very well, it keeps you hooked all the way through. The action is powerful enough to keep you on your toes but not overdone to the point that it drives you mad. Overall a very well-done story and one you shouldn’t miss.

Toxic Blonde is the 2nd book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller Series by David Stever. I had loved the first book in the series and this one was even better. It is an action packed thriller that will grab you from the very beginning and have you on the edge of your seat right up to the very end. Stever sure knows how to write an amazing thriller. The story continually flows and is full of emotion, drama, suspense and intrigue. I could not put this book down.
In this book Johnny thinks he has taken on another boring case proving that a husband is having an affair. In fact it turns out to be much, much more than that and Johnny ends up helping out the FBI in a case which also involves the Russian Mafia – a far cry from the boring cheating case he thought he had taken on.
Again Johnny is helped out by his assistant Katie and Mike, his ex-partner when he was a cop, who he now owns a bar with. We are also introduced to Eric, a hacker, who has an outrageous personality. I really hope Eric continues to be part of the team in future books in this series as he added so much character to this book.
If you enjoy an action packed thriller then this is definitely the book for you.

I absolutely adore the Johnny Delarosa Thrillers and Toxic Blonde was no exception to that. This book once again brings it all home with action, adventure, drama, suspense, and a bit of romance to keep things sweet, or spicy depending on how you want to look at it.

In Toxic Blonde we find Johnny Delarosa at it again trying to work a cheating spouse case. These tend to be what he is best at and despite the fact that things tend to get a bit more messy and complicated only seems to fuel his desire for these cases.

“Infidelity pays the bills, so says a wise old private eye.”

I really enjoyed Keira Kane, our main female character and as promised “the most beautiful femme fatale to ever travel the pages of crime fiction.” She definitely makes for some interesting reading. I would have to say she easily makes this one of my favorite sleuth/mystery reads that I have stumbled upon in years. I am so looking forward to seeing what the next Johnny Delarosa book will bring us.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am very glad to have found Stever and enjoyed this second book in the series as much as the first. Fast paced, action packed, and it kept me guessing. I really enjoy Stever’s writing style and character development. The plot moved quickly and I found myself zipping through the pages to figure out how everything would resolve. Very enjoyable read and one I would recommend to others.
