I have read several books by this author and this story, like the others, doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed reading about the lifelong friendship between Cate & Patti. Like many of us, the friendship changes as the two grow old but they have always been there for each other in the time of need. An event from their past is distressing Cate to a point she reaches out to Patti for strength and support. How will these friends cope through the murder case that is being reopened and will they still be friends when the secret is revealed? Overall, I thought the characters were well written, I was able to connect with them and remember those life long friends in my own life.

Phenomenal. This author is consistently good; I love everything I read by her, and this is no exception. The characters always have such depth and the relationships are palpable. Nostalgia oozes through the pages on this book and a the friendship between Cate and Patti will give you all the feels. These two have been through a lot together, including a major trauma they have kept secret for decades—and has also kept them apart. Even with all of the time that has passed, their bond is just as strong, but with their secret coming back into the fold, can the best friends survive the revival of this trauma?
The shifting from past to present and building of the story was engaging and keeps you turning the pages until the end. Pick this one up!

This is my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last! This book has a little bit of everything. It has love, friendship, romance, and mystery. It’s a beautiful story of the friendship of Cate and Patti, and one night that changed the course of that friendship. Cate killed a man and they have been keeping it a secret for twenty years. Patti left town to go to college and never looked back. The case has been reopened, so Cate goes and brings Patti home, afraid of what will happen with the case being reopened. This book is awesome! It’s full of twists and turns, and is so well written. I will definitely be reading more from this author, she has a beautiful way of telling a story.

I really enjoyed this story of the strength of family bonds…even when that family is the one we choose! Cate and Patti have both been living with the weight of guilt and secrets that could have been lessened if they had been open and honest with those around them. As this story unfolded, I found myself tearing up more than once. There was just so much to unpack…so many layers…and each was as devastating as the last. An emotional book that packed a punch while soothing the soul. Overall…a great book!

So many stories about true soulmate love are romantic, but this beautiful story is about how a best friend can be your soulmate. This story reminded me of the relationship that I have with my best friend. This book is about two best friends that have to deal with life’s hardships, both together and separately, and how real friendship lasts through it all. Although I figured out most of the plot twist fairly early on, I was still slightly surprised at the very end. I loved the way it ended and I would definitely recommend this book as a feel-good story. This was the first book I have read by this author, but I would definitely read more from her.

I have read several books by this author and have loved everyone of them. This book was just as good and captivating as the others. The author does an amazing job of of writing a story that twists and turns and keeps the reader guessing and her characters are so well written that you feel like they are your close friends.
Cate and Patti are best friends. They have been friends for years until an incident that happened twenty years ago changed it. Even though they are friends they aren’t as close as they once were as Patti moved away to escape her past. However the past is now coming back to haunt the women and they now need each other to get through this. Could a incident that happened 20 years ago change their lifes today? Doc is there through hellish episodes, cementing his place in Gemma’s life.
This book moves at lightning speed. It gets a little confusing at times when they don’t discuss the time jump but as the story moves along, you can figure out the timing. It is hard to believe Gemma makes it through so much in this book and, as her history is revealed, in life. Gemma is strength and resilience. Hopefully Doc is her HEA.
This book contains depictions of assault and rape. Do not read if you find yourself triggered by those topics.

Depending on You is most definitely a 5 star read. I grew up in a small town and my adulthood friends are the same women that I have known since elementary school. The bonds in this book meant a lot to me and while my best friends and I have not dealt with what Cate or Patti endured, I felt that their friendship was so relatable. I can’t really say anything to do this book justice. There are so many elements but the biggest take away is in the meaning of friendship and family, blood or not. The story really had depth and the storyline flowed seamlessly. I was really drawn to the writing from the very start and I was along for the ride through every bend in the road. I always enjoy when authors alternate between perspectives of the main characters so seeing the story through both women’s eyes was another element of the book I appreciated. Every character in this book was enjoyable and had the potential to tug at your heartstrings. I could literally go on forever. I loved this book. And it wouldn’t be a review of a Jessica Aiken Hall book if I didn’t mention how much I appreciated that she tied in her love for Tom Petty within the storyline as well!

The new stories of the frightening ways love can manifest are interspersed with haunting love poems. Each tale takes you to the edge of your seat. Will strangers risk everything for each other? Does true love last through the centuries? Can beings see past their differences or long-held beliefs to find true love?
One of the stories that had me gripping my pillow was Reflections of the Past by Melody Calder. Mary’s story started with feeling out of place where she should have felt at home. The chances Mary took to find belonging led her to real love. When everything in Mary’s world is destroyed, she finds a way to get her revenge. Sins of the past haunt Lia in ways she doesn’t even know yet as Mary’s vengeance collides with Lia’s heart. With Lia’s understanding, Mary is finally able to find peace.
The other story that caused my pillow distress was Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque. Kayla has every reason to hate after what she has gone through. Minette should feel the same way but doesn’t let her light fade because of the actions of others. When Kayla first meets Minette, Minette should cower but doesn’t. Minette finds it within herself to be strong. Kayla should despise Minette but can’t seem to feel anything other than protective. Together, they seem to be able to accomplish the impossible while finding love.

I really liked this story. While the writing was easy to read the subject matter was a little difficult. And sometimes difficult is what we need. We need to discuss the difficult things in life. We need to discuss and then find a way to move on and live. “The whole part of living is finding people worth risking it all for.” I believe Cate and Patti have found that connection.
The women have a secret. However, not all secrets are good. Secrets can cause hurt and suffering. They certainly cause more confusion and misunderstanding. Patti and Cate learn this but after 20 years. This story tells about their secret, how it gets discovered and the consequences of having kept it quiet for so long.
“Sometimes the greatest tragedies are followed by the greatest joy.” Patti and Cate’s greatest joy comes many years later in life. I believe their friendship and re-discovery is their greatest joy.
I can definitely recommend this author and this story.

This book roped me in quick and I didn’t look back! Definitely a thrilling page turner. Cate and Patti share a secret that keeps them tied forever. One night changed everything for them when a man died. Even though they have been separated, when the case is reopened, they find their way back together in a time of need!
This story is so well developed! The author has an amazing attention to detail that really fits all the pieces together and builds the characters and story perfectly. It’s a beautiful story of friendship with just enough twists to keep you guessing. This fast paced, action filled book is a perfect read for everyone!

This book was hard for me to rate, so my review will reflect that. I am a fan of dark romance and other dark readings, so that is also reflected here.
3.75 rounded up.
The good: I did enjoyed the overall story of this book, and reading about Gem’s evolution into Rage (the Motorcycle Club) and the glimpses of her backstory and how she came to be when she met Shep. Gem does get her HEA with her man, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her building that relationship and allowing it to thrive. I also really enjoyed the street racing aspect and the adrenaline that came from reading those scenes.
The so-so: I feel like some of the flashbacks would have in fact been better placed sooner in the books, especially some of Gem’s flashbacks to her time with the Hawks. (That transition in the book seemed to be thrust on us out of nowhere.) I felt like there wasn’t enough time to recover from her trauma in the flashbacks to then jumping into the contemporary trauma she was experiencing. Normally when I read a dark series I like to read about characters who, despite their trauma, are strong and willing to fight back, and while Gem does, it’s done in a way that leaves me left wanting. I found the romance aspect of this book lacking as well as there was almost no actual sex scenes that occurred, were just told there was sex between the characters, or that it was good or the best sex of Gem’s life, and then the only real description of a sex scene is traumatic for the character.
Disclaimer: I have not read the other books in the series, and by this book I don’t think I will. This book is not the first I’ve read by this author, so when I saw it and the synopsis I was excited; however it fell flat for me. This book was originally published in 2013, making it 9 years old at the time of this review, and the author’s writing has come a long way since. I just couldn’t get behind the writing here. It’s definitely a case of telling, not showing. I also felt that it wasn’t the smoothest in its transitions from one situation to the next.

Gem used to be with the MC Hawks with whom she has a violent past but after leading a quiet life for a couple of years, she yearns for the adrenaline rush again. After joining Rage, she realizes that this MCis not so different from the last. This is an MC romantic suspense story. It involves some danger, drama and betrayal. I love MC stories and I had never read a book by this author before so I was excited to pick this one up.
It’s very different from the usual ones that I read. First off, it’s about a motorcycle gang with speed bikes and racing, not Harleys. Second, the main character is a tough as nails female, which was nice. Although part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. My issue with the book is that I felt that there could have been more development with the relationships between the characters. It seemed as though the author wanted to tell a story but skimmed over all the details, there was no depth. I couldn’t connect to the characters. It could be because I hadn’t read the other books in the series so that could be my fault. Most of the time I didn’t know how much time had passed between events; days, weeks? It is a fast paced story which I find the author had to squeeze within a limit of pages.

I’ve read quite a few books by this author now and I always enjoy her writing but I think this is probably my absolute favourite book by her. I was completely gripped by what I was reading, the story was engaging, the characters likeable – I honestly loved every single second of it. Cate and Patti’s relationship was the true meaning of friendship – they clearly meant so much to each other and it was really heart-warming how they were there for each other throughout the story. There were so really great twists and turns in the plot for this story which kept me engaged form beginning to end. Overall a fantastic read and one that I would highly recommend!

Reading this book made me realise that I don’t read enough crime books anymore and need to read more. This was a new author to me and I was unsure what to expect, but I really enjoyed her writing style. The story flowed well and had me engaged from the very beginning, right up to the end. Reading about Cate and Patti made me wish that I had a friendship like theirs. These 2 women are totally devoted to one another and have the most amazing friendship ever. If this book is anything to go by, then this author has an amazing knack of writing fantastic characters. I absolutely adored both Patti and Cate, Along with those two, Patti’s Mum and Cate’s Dad are both characters that I really enjoyed reading about. You could also add Jake and Andrew to this although they don’t play as large a role as the others. This book is gripping and just when you think you know what’s going on, the author throws you a curveball and the story twists. There are quite a few twists and turns and I have to say that I definitely did not predict the ending. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to other readers.

This is the fourth instalment of the series. I enjoyed this book. Gemma has had a very hard life and now is enduring more pain but to what cost. Sometimes club life can not be what she expected to and sometimes it’s more. Things are looking well when she meets Shep and is introduced into the world of a motorcycle club. This motorcycle club is called Rage. There are so many twists and turns in this story, which is unexpected. Gem is a strong woman and nothing keeps her down. This is an example of a gritty motorcycle club book.

This is book will hit every emotion from happy to sad to anger back to happy. It’s the roller coaster of emotions. Cait and Patti have been the best of friends since high school. Something happened the night of prom and they have never really dealt with it. Now Cait’s father is dying and Patti comes back with Cait to help her. Old secrets come out and feelings are hurt. Cait, Patti, and their friends are left to deal with those memories and the aftermath. Sensitive topics, well-written characters and plot that ties everything all together and runs so smooth make for one of the best books I’ve read in 2022 so far. Cait and Patti could be anybody. They are so relatable and the issues they dealt with are very real. I highly recommend this book. It would get more than a 5 star from me if I could.

This book is an emotional roller coaster. You are going to need some tissues and a strong stomach to make it through. It is an amazing book, I highly recommend reading it if you don’t have any triggers. There is a lot of abrasive scenes played out through the whole book. That aside the story line of this book is amazing. It kept me turning the page and reading as fast as I could through the whole book. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. There is huge character development for the leading lady in this story. She is a bada$$ with an amazing will to survive the crap life has dealt her. There are times you will want to smack her but seriously who makes the best decisions all the time. Having a book be able to pull that type of emotion out of the reader is a true testament as to how well it is written. I highly recommend this book as an escape from reality.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was HOOKED! Gem came from a dark and checkered past, and while trying to keep a low profile, she finds herself in the same situation that she once was. Gem ends up meeting Shep and while she thinks he is good for her she soon finds out that he is not who he seems. This book had many twists and turns and had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was to come next. Fantasy, romance, and mystery this story has it all. Even when you think you finally figure out who the villain is the author surprises you once again. A easy and quick read, you won’t want to put it down either.

This book is a story of friendship, sisterhood and family. The speed and emotions of this story are in sync. I know that if I had a friend like Cate or Patti, I would risk it all to keep them safe.

Ok, hear me out, or rather, give this book a chance. I thought this book started a little slow, or maybe I just had trouble getting into the story. But I know that I love this author, so I stuck with it. It was so good! Once again, I thought I knew the twists that were coming in the story of Patti and Cate. And once again, I didn’t see something coming!! Patti and Cate are best friends from childhood. They reminded me of Tully and Kate from the book, Firefly Lane. Patti and Cate both suffered for 20 years from a tragic incident. It was a sad story with a beautiful ending. Small warning about child abuse in the story. What a read!

I was anxiously awaiting Depending On You’s release date, because it sounded so good! I am glad I read it, and didn’t have to wait any longer. This book was so intense and had a lot going on, and emotions ran high. It had some lighter funny parts, but overall, it was a pretty intense story. The ending got a little cheesy, after school special feeling to me, especially considering how intense the first half was. This book is the telling of two best friends, and how one night filled changed their entire lives. They didn’t understand the power of that night, for nearly 20 years afterwards. We alternate between Cate and Patti’s telling of their senior year, and present day. The transition was done smoothly and easy to follow. There was a lot of hard situations in this story (death, drugs, alcohol, rape, etc) so reader discretion. But, if you aren’t triggered by those, I HIGHLY recommend this book. It kept me hooked and I read the whole thing within 2 days. I look forward to more by this author!

Depending on You is an intense Mystery/Suspense/Murder story that is packed with secrets, murder and plenty of suspense. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I’ve read other books by this author but this one is definitely my favorite yet . The characters are amazing and the storyline flowed so well I felt like apart of the story. This is a story about Cate and Patti ,these two have been best friends for forever. What will happen when the past wounds get reopened? Will the secrets come to light? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. You won’t be disappointed I know I sure wasn’t. I absolutely loved reading this book and can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I liked this book. The story was really interesting and packed with adventure and drama. The author created a really vibrant world that draws you in and makes you want to be a part of the world. The story follows Adrijana as she tries to solve the mystery of who is trying to kill the royal family. Her journey has many ups and downs but everything works out in the end. I love happy endings. I will definitely look for more from this author.
This author never disappoints! I have loved every book I have read so far by her! This book jumps right in and keeps pulling you in. Just when you think you have everything figured out there’s a plot twist. I related to Cate and Patti at different times throughout the book. Their lifelong friendship doesn’t fade no matter how much time has passed. They definitely compliment each other with their different personalities. When you read this book you will laugh and cry with the characters as they navigate life. This is such a great read with love, secrets and forgiveness. I highly recommend this book and I promise you won’t regret it!

Adrijana ends up in a mystery murder loop as when she becomes new to the court of the Adrjssian, she ends up in suspicion. Someone is killing the Royal family one by one and everyone is turning their heads her way only because she is new. Well this is her time to shine by taking her name of the list and figuring out the Suspect. She has to go through a lot and get a lot of help along the way. This is such a good mystery read! Thank you for making this book!
