I have read many books by Anise Storm and when I saw that this was her next book that was coming out, it was a no brainer that I would want to read this book. I was NOT disappointed it! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first sentence to the very last. The book revolves around Evelyn, a girl who in her teens was tutoring a troubled teen and in the course of that fell in love with him and when he left was severely heartbroken. It also revolves around a Damian, who has grown up on the wrong sides of the tracks, who has had a severely troubled life who cannot seem to get Evelyn out of his head. When these two reconnect, there are sparks flying! I was reading so fast as I needed to know what happened next! If you want/need a great mafia, dark romance then this is the story for you!!

Ray – Review by Carlie Del Gallo
Breathe Underwater by Anise Storm and Taylor L. Ray packs quite an emotional punch. It is an intriguing second chance romantic suspense- a mafia romance with a bit of a twist and plenty of danger, mystery, suspense, action, chemistry, red-hot sizzle, push-pull, angst, and a complex, layered storyline. I don’t want to go into this story too much, as I don’t want to spoil it for you. I’ll just say that not everything is as it seems, and there’s more going on than first appears. I loved the ‘twist’ to the story- I though that was a great touch and added an extra element of interest to the whole thing, for me. The character’s past history added some angst and emotion to the story as well. And I also loved that there was more than one source of danger- which kept the tension dialed up to high. I hope that the authors are setting things up for a series… hint, hint. As I felt there was ‘room’ here to add more instalments. We will have to wait and see. There was a lot going on here though, with a lot of information being delivered, so at times I did feel like the story bogged down with the ‘info dumps’. Then at other times, the story seemed to be rushed, and skate over things that I though needed more attention. But these issues weren’t enough to detract to much from the story and I look forward to seeing if this is just the groundwork for a new series. Happy Reading,

Wow! Just Wow! Despite the darkness in Breathe Underwater, I absolutely loved it! The authors put together a wonderfully written meaty story that keeps on enraptured till the end. I’m familiar with the one author which is what drew me to this book in the first place. I thoroughly enjoy their work. However the combination of unfamiliar author and familiar was pleasantly surprising. This book has some dark trigger warning themes. Has a brave/strong female lead character. It also has a male lead who is so ingrained in what he’s doing that lines start to cross. So what happens when those two characters were sweet on each other as teens and now 13 years later are back in each other’s lives? Evelyn and Damian were the two that never should fit, but they did and it was a perfect match. Till Evelyn’s dad got involved and upended their lives. Telling lies on both accounts, each thinking they were abandoned by the other. 13 years later they are now forbidden fruit. They know they shouldn’t but can’t resist. Damian tries to warn Evelyn away but she doesn listen. Evelyn knows better but keeps following her heart. Do they stay apart or make it work? Does Damian’s shady/secretive lifestyle get in the way? What about Evelyn’s dad? Trust me when I say if you like either of these authors you are going to want to read this book. If you are not familiar with them, now is your time to discover why they will be your new favorites!

I have always loved romances that are based on a second chance, but this one really blew me away. I was intrigued and invested in the characters, and constantly longed for more! Amazing book!
I loved how this story of a second chance was not just butterflies and lollipops. It went deep, as well as dark in certain moments. The characters were torn apart from someone in their circle more less. And the truth came to light with other secrets. And made Evelyn and Damian re-consider their past and their possible future. I loved how the Mafia with Damian came to play. Definitely added to the tension and suspense of the story, The book was full of steam, romance, as well as moments you did not want to put the book down. The writing was sensational. Hard to let go of. I was very invested in these characters. There was very strong character development through the course of the story. Absolutely loved this book!
This is a book that is very much worth a read for many reasons. Plus the way the writing goes, keeps you invested and wanting to keep reading! Highly recommend this must read book!

Evelyn lost the one guy that she’s ever felt a strong pull toward, when the guy she was tutoring in her senior year of high school just disappears without warning and without any further contact. Damian was a teenager who was at the mercy of the adults in his life in high school, so when his parents tell him they are moving; he has no choice but to move. He chooses not to try to communicate with Evelyn even after she continues to try to reach him, because he is told that she doesn’t want anything to do with him, by her father, who does whatever is necessary to ensure that Damian is as far away from his daughter as possible. When Damian suddenly reappears in her life, Evelyn is initially angry about his departure all over again, but eventually learns the truth. Damian tries to keep Evelyn at arm’s length because his career as an undercover FBI agent in the Italian mob makes his life far too dangerous for her and he wants to protect her even though he can’t tell her the truth about his life. Overall, this was a good book. I did feel that most of the intimate scenes were over the top in the graphic department, but I understand that some people won’t necessarily agree.

Evelyn and Damian are two young lovers broken up by a father that thinks he can control everything by money. Fast-forward years later, Damian works undercover law enforcement in the mob. Assigned back to Dallas, Evelyn sees him running down her street. Paths cross and the dramatic adventure begins. This story is full of romance, steam, suspense, drama, and adventure. The storyline meshes together nicely. There are two storylines and they intertwine to flow smooth. A fast-paced read that you may enjoy.

This was a good biker gang dark romance. There are a few times where it was a little over the top and not believable, but for the most part the author kept to the true natures of gangs, of all kinds, not just a biker gang. I did enjoy it being a biker gang dark romance vs the normal mafia type dark. Sofi, aka “Dior” is the female main character that starts off as not so innocent but definitely not gang material. She loves her dark make up, smoking pot with the occasional pill, and rocker music, especially Iron Maiden, but she is by far not a killer or drug dealer. She learns that her parents, her prim and proper parents used to be in a biker gang, and not just in a gang but the leaders of a highly respected gang the Tyrants in London. Sofi and her brother John find out a few other family secrets, which push her brother to suicide. This enrages Sofi, she wants revenge, she wants to kill the reason for her brother’s suicide; that person is the father of her new BF (Buzz) who is also the head of a rival gang in London, the Wolves. Sofi gets in deep, almost too deep. Sofi (Dior) encounters many hardships while trying to enact her revenge plot, but she also falls in love. Can she get out? Does she want to? Is this all worth it? There are many twists and turns I did not expect, and ultimately the ending completely blindsided me. While there were some faults in certain situations, I overall loved the book and would recommend to anyone who loves a good dark romance.
PLEASE read trigger warnings if you have any!
Trigger Warnings I believe need to be stated: Rape (of multiple types), Kidnapping, Drug Use, Date Rape Drug, Guns, Murder, any many other adult themes.

The second book of the Crown of Stones series continues with Ian in prison, defeated and without any hope. However, there are others, people who need something from him and people who have ill intentions for him. Either way, Ian will not be in prison long.
I was stuck between being sad, angry, and brilliantly amazed about how Ian’s journey continued with this one.
It continues several years after the first book. Several characters – friends, and enemies – return for more character development and continuation of the story. I was not disappointed with this book. It grabbed my attention right away and I was thrilled to follow Ian and glad he was not lost after the ending of the last book. I really liked how deeply this delves into Ian and how focused it is on him. Just like any book, there are those I loved and hated. But each character had their own segment, their own reasons to continue. Some fought for freedom, while others fought to live or simply to get closure.
In this book, the world comes alive, leaving you enthralled and enriched with the storyline. Everything becomes so real, almost as if you could touch it. I loved how this developed and was so excited to read the third one. This book is so dark and daunting. It left your brain worn out from the intensity. But it was such a beautiful book. I definitely hope others liked this as much as I did.

Sofi has a secret, but so do her parents. After finding out the truth about her parents past, she is set out on a path for revenge. She gets herself involved with a local motorcycle club called “The Wolves.” Sofi gets herself in with the club by singing at local motorcycle bars. She happens to catch the eye of Buzz, the Vice President of the Wolves. As she hangs around, the attraction between Buzz and Sofi cannot be denied. During her time with the wolves though, she goes by the name Dior. She does whatever it takes to be seen as a valuable member to the club. Will her secrets come back to bite her in the rear or will she get the revenge she is seeking? This was such a fun book. It has a darkish back story but a great story. I loved the characters and the overall story was one I loved. I need more of Sofi and Buzz!

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars By: C. L. Schneider
The story The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars by C.L. Schneider is a fantasy book. This is the second book of The Crown of Stones trilogy. Ian Troy, the main character, has been captured by his old enemy, King Draken of Langor. He was kidnapped and the kidnapper did everything imaginable towards him, looses his magic by the drug he was given. But then he is rescued and as his body heals and rids itself of the drug he was given, he realizes that he has returned to an unfamiliar world gripped in fear. The ones he left he realizes they have been trying hard on their own. Ian is struggling to reconcile the man he has become, with the man he once was. He strives to understand the growing number of magic-scars adorning his body and he searches for the truth behind his link to the Crown of Stones. He soon uncovers secrets that have been buried for generations and finds to become the weapon the resistance needs, he must assume responsibility for his magical inheritance.
This is an amazing second book in The Crown of Stones series. The story is told from Ian Troy’s POV. As in the last book, through memories and flashbacks, Ian starts to remember what he did while he was held a prisoner and of his life before as well. He blames himself for things that he has done while in captivity. The feel of Ian’s character has changed a bit. This is due to his captivity and the drug that he was on constantly. Ian is such a likable character and I can say that some of the things that happen to him saddened me. He has many friends and acquaintances who help him and believe that any hope they have of freedom lies with him. This is truly a fast-paced, action-packed, magical journey through a world that is in fear and needs rescuing. There are battle scenes and adult situations that include hot, love scenes.

This is a well written fantasy science fi type novel with a strong protagonist. The details really draw you into the story and keep you turning pages until you are done. I loved the twists and turns, the non stop action, adventure and of course the relationship you can develop with the characters. I enjoyed this one so much I am gonna go back and read the first book as I have a feeling I missed some pretty significant moments. Absolutely worth reading!

Revenge….it is all Sofi wants when she learns family secrets that involve the death of her uncle. How to infiltrate that revenge……..get inside the motorcycle club that was involved… The Wolves. Sofi weaves her way into the club, becoming one with them…..but soon finds love and the love comes from acting VP…. Buzz. Will Sofi get caught up in the club and forget or will she end up betraying the trust of her new found family.
This book definitely has its dark moments and triggers…….wow …. raw, rough and shocking…this author really knows how to tell a story……this is a quick read and hard to put down…highly recommended!
This is the 2nd book in the Dark Vampire series and it can be read as a standalone, but (as always) I recommend reading the series in order. This is the story of Christian and Delilah and to really understand this story, you must read the 1st book. Once again, Sylvia Black kills it with her character development and her plot lines. I just love how she hooks the readers in with her no nonsense and fast-paced plots. And I adore how much effort she puts into her characters. She makes you invested in them. Christian is one tough, stubborn vampire and he will do whatever it takes to avenge the love of his life, Delilah. Even though I did find Delilah annoying at times, the love she has for Christian is redeeming. This wasn’t my favorite of the series, but definitely worth the read (for Christian if nothing else ;)).

Gripping and highly emotive This starts off a few years after book 1. We find Ian Troy in prison and left for dead. It was only a matter of time though before someone needed him. I found the connection to Troy different this time with his magic suppressed and amnesia we get to see the person underneath. There is so much between the pages of this book and the author interweaves the connections flawlessly and brings the reader to a world that is as beautiful as it is broken. Characters that I came to love in the first book are back and the action, dialogue and the wide range of emotions kept me glued from start to finish. The storyline just keeps getting stronger and as much as questions are being answered, more things are being discovered. The stakes are high and there is still one more book to go. Highly recommend to fantasy fans – you won’t be disappointed.

Ian’s story isn’t quite what I expected to read when i first began this book. There is love and action and openness in this story. Secrets you never thought would come out. One part or a few actually caught me completely off guard I didn’t think it would come to Ian having to keep his promise to a young boy in the story. The hanger it leaves you with though makes you wanna go to the third one to see if what he seen was a true prediction. The author did very well depicting every detail and making it feel like you were there. Suspense, humor, love, sadness and a sense of compassion are all in there.

Sofi is shocked when it is revealed that her parents were once in a biker gang before she was born. It is a side to them that she never saw and that was kept well hidden from her. As dark family secrets are revealed she is shocked to learn what a rival biker gang, The Wolves, did to her family many years ago. Sofi decides it is up to her to seek revenge on The Wolves in the only way she knows how. As a writer her pen is her weapon, and she decides to expose The Wolves for all their crimes and take them down by writing a story about them. Sofi dons a new persona as Dior and infiltrates The Wolves by dating a Wolves Member named Buzz.
Buzz is the temporary V.P. of The Wolves while his dad, Mud, the Prez, is in prison. He does not know any lifestyle other than the biker life because that is how he grew up. Dior’s initiation into The Wolves is rough but she is determined to stay the course and follow through with her revenge. Things get complicated when Dior falls hard for Buzz and sees a side of him that his biker friends do not get to experience. Buzz also finds himself falling for Dior and sees a life and world outside of the biker lifestyle that changes how he sees the lifestyle he lives. Dior finds herself enjoying the sense of camaraderie and the feeling of invincibility that comes with the biker lifestyle and starts to identify as one of The Wolves. Will Dior find herself falling hard into the biker lifestyle and give up everything else she knows to be one of The Wolves so she can be with the man she loves? Or will Buzz give up the only lifestyle he has ever known to be with the woman he loves?
This book was full of action, suspense, romance, love, lust, and bloodshed throughout which made it impossible to put down. I loved the character of Sofi, AKA Dior, and admired the courage it took for her to infiltrate a biker gang to expose the truth. I was impressed with the lengths that she went to prove her worth to the Wolves, while also being simultaneously sickened by the abuse she was subjected to. Buzz initially came across as the typical bad boy: cold, abusive and a real lady’s man. That is the kind of man that most women are not attracted to, but Dior saw through his persona and witnessed another side of him. The chemistry between Dior and Buzz was undeniable and I had to read until I knew what would become of them. Would Sofi/Dior get revenge? What would happen when the truth was revealed? Would love really conquer all? Whose lifestyle would win out? This book is a must read!

As Dior’s encounters with the MC become more intense, she has to decide if the revenge she has planned is worth herself, her soul, her life. Dior falls hard for Buzz. Is he just part of her fake world or is he something more? Will she lose everything in the process?
This book has some interesting turns. And, an unexpected ending.

Huntress is a raw MC thriller and a great read. It is the second book in the OUTLAW series. This is one ride you do not want to miss. This adrenaline fuelled and fast paced story is gritty and makes no apologies when dealing with this MC. Nothing is off limits. It’s ride or die time. Right up my alley.
It is a dark tangled web of a tale of love and revenge but it will have you wondering if the revenge is worth the sacrifice. With violence and danger, lies and secrets, hatred and vengeance, love and pain there is something for the most diehard MC fan.
Revenge and a pen; it is her only weapons but when trying to gain the truth it may just be her undoing.
This powerful and compelling read with have your knuckles turning white from trying to hang on as you ride with the Wolves MC.
Wow! This is one of those books that you just cannot put down until it’s done. I was sucked in right from the start. Sofie, aka Dior, finds herself deeply involved with the Wolves MC. Buzz, the acting Pres, gets her notice and the chemistry is there. Combustion goes off. The problem is her parents were part of a rival club that could be killed by this club. She can’t afford to have him find that out. Mud, Buzz’s father is the killer. Can they get through this? Man, there is some rough stuff. Action, romance, drama, and mystery abound. The writing is attention-grabbing. You have to keep going. You want to know what’s coming next. The characters are interesting. Strong women do abound. It was nice to see old faces, as well as new. It’s definitely a story for the over 18 crowd. It is an enticing MC book that shows strong women that will fight for what they want. Powerful! Challenging! A book that leaves you thinking. Well done, author. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
Revenge and love entwine in this powerful MC dark romance. 18+
With all the pain those bastards had caused my family – the loss. I wanted revenge, and so I made sure I did all I had to, to be welcomed into their den. I didn’t need a knife. My pen was my weapon and I was going to make all the WOLVES pay.

This is the second book in the Crown of Stones series by C.L. Schneider. It took me entirely too long to pick up the second book in this series, but thank goodness I did!!! Ian is back with a vengeance and I am right there with him. He is on a quest to restore all that was lost, and get back what was taken from him.
Ian is one of those lone-wolf type characters that is both real and unique at the same time. He is a tortured soul you just can’t help but root for, he remains true to his character and is a steady rock amidst so much chaos that is occurring in his realm. Now that he has finally come one step closer to understanding the pain and terror he has gone through, it is his turn to become the hero, albeit unwillingly. But he’s not entirely alone, as he rallies together with others who can come behind him on his quest.
A little bit of horror, some violence, spectacular fight scenes, well detailed use of magic and it’s elements, real struggles and awesome character interactions. This series has it all! Thank you to the author who continues to provide awesome tales to devour.

Schneider – Review by Taylor K Stephenson
This is by far one of the best series I have ever read. The amount of creativity and originality that went into creating this book is amazing. I could not put it down. I fell asleep reading it and picked it up as soon as I opened my eyes. I rejoiced in the small victories and hurt when Troy experienced the losses. I felt a sense of pride as his character evolved and he embraced who he was (lineage) while maintaining who he wants to be (better than his father and all the leaders focused on being the most powerful). Especially after what he went through in prison. I was completely shocked with learning about the door opener Lirih. The characters are so greatly written that any loss felt like I lost them. I highly recommend this book. It’s full of action, steam, love, and magic.

Schneider – Review by Amber Howard
The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars is the second installment in The Crown of Stones trilogy and it is amazing! With the action, drama, and fantasy, there isn’t anything the author left out.
Ian Troy wakes up not only wondering where he is but WHO he is. As his memory slowly seeps in with bits and pieces of what has happened, he questions what kind of person he really is. His purpose is to fix the Crown of Stones, but what he uncovers may be more than he can handle. Will he be able to successfully repair this and heal what has transpired amongst his people or will he be rendered useless?
I think C.L. Schneider created an absolutely stunning realm in this series. I cannot wait to grab the last installment of this trilogy to see where we end up. This is one of the best fantasy books I have read this year!

Ian Troy has gone through so much already with book one! Now he has to go even further to help out his friends! There is trial and error with his magic as his scars increase with learning more truth. This one is still fully packed with great adventures and drama. How far will he go? Take a shot, but make sure to read the first book to follow this one!

This was a great follow-up to Crown of Stones: Magic Price, for sure! Beginning a few years after the first book ends starts with Ian in prison with no memories. The twists and turns going throughout the story as Ian tries to finish work from the first book and regain his memory are paced really well. They make the book unpredictable but still enjoyable. Little bits of history, compassion, friendship, battles, and sneaking around keep the story moving forward. And, for those interested, some pretty intense sex scenes, as well. I look forward to reading the next one!

A different experience for Ian Troy in this second book of The Crown of Stones Series! Ian Troy has been captured by King Draken and drugged. Ian must figure out a way out of the prison he’s been held in and find a way to keep his friends safe! This book is a bit darker than the first book in the series. The interaction between Ian and his friends seem a bit strained. They find ways to work through the friendships. Overall I really enjoyed this second book and felt connected to Ian Troy with the struggles he endured. It was even harder to set the book down to get stuff done around the house.
