Afflicted Love (Rhythm & Heart Series) by Autumn Sand

Afflicted Love is the first book in Rhythm & Heart Series . This is a Dark Contemporary MM Romance that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. I will warn you there is a trigger warning and I recommend reading with caution as there are parts that are hard to read but if you push through it will be worth it. This author is one of my go to authors especially if I’m needing to loose myself for a couple hours in a book. Kyle and Lyle both have dark pasts but the also have some serious chemistry between them. These two had my emotions all over the place and had me on the edge of my seat at times holding my breath waiting to see how it was going to play out. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with her raw, yet real developed characters make for a epic story that will leave you hanging at the end. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to spill to much about this story. I’m patiently waiting for the next book in this series. I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

Cecily in the City (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager

• Cecily in the City is the third book in The Cecily Taylor Series. This is a YA Contemporary Romance that will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. This maybe directed more towards teen to young adults but in my opinion anyone of any age can enjoy this story. Tbis authors style of writing and her amazing characters make for a wonderful story. Her characters are well developed and very easily relatable. I felt like I could imagine every scene as if I were there. Cecily can’t imagine her life getting any better after she’s moved to the city and landed a dream position on a daytime soap opera. She’s very excited to be in the same town as her pop star boyfriend. Rumors get started shortly after she stars in another singers music video. Lots of drama behind the scenes. She just wants to be happy with Andrew. Soon she will find out life is much different in the spotlight.. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

A Monster for Meg (Giants and Monsters) by Lois Wickstrom

A Monster for Meg is a beautifully done children’s book that my five year old son loved reading. The illustrations are very well done and makes it easy for children to follow along. Meg is blind and her sister sue explains monsters to her using different senses. My son loves this author and we usually read the story four or five times in a row. One thing that you take away from this story is even though one may not be able to see there are other ways one can interpret things. Meg may not be able to see but her hearing works just fine. We always look forward to reading this authors stories. Its perfect for readers ages four to eight. Let their imagination go wild. We can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Yeti Left Home by Aaron Rosenberg is a wonderfully written Fantasy/Supernatural that I truly enjoyed reading. This is my first book by this author and definitely not my last. Going in I wasn’t real sure what to expect but I was intrigued by the cover and the fact that I was super curious about this Yeti. Boy was I wrong but im happy I took the chance on this book. I can totally relate to Wiley and the feeling like you don’t quite fit in or belong but you push through and keep on keeping on. Wiley is content and happy just hanging out at his little cabin in the woods. But soon his world will take a turn when murders start happening and hunter shows up in his woods . Wiley leaves his home and heads to the Big City where he discovers a whole different kind of world and people. What will happen when Wiley sees the Hunter in the big city? This may not have been was I was expecting but it was what I needed to read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

A Curse of Ash and Iron is a Steampunk/ YA with hints of fantasy and is a wonderful retelling of the children’s classic Cinderella but with a different kind of twist. I truly enjoyed this retelling of a classic more than I thought I would. I loved being pulled in from the beginning and the twists and turns had me turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen in this version. Let me tell you what I wasn’t disappointed in the least in fact I loved it. Ellie has spent several long years under her stepmother’s watchful eye since her mother’s death. She was hidden in plain sight yet Ellie wondered if she’d ever escape. Then there’s Ben who seems to be immune to the magic . I’m a fan of Historical Romance and throw in some MMF and I’m a gonner. I loved everything about this book from the characters that are fully developed and real they bring the story to life. The story flowed so flawlessly that I devoured it in one afternoon. Suzette and her brother just moved to San Francisco and she met Isaac and Walter . These two gentlemen have been friends for a long time. Is there more to their relationship than friendship? These three definitely have chemistry. Who will she choose? Can she have both? White Picket Fences is a wonderfully written Contemporary women’s Fiction about love, loss ,and self discovery. I felt this to my soul as I’ve been struggling lately with many different emotions that go along with change brought on by many different things. I related to Julie and how she didn’t know who she is anymore. My heart ached for her and her family as they all were trying to find their new normal. Sometimes we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders without realizing the effect it will have on us and those around us. This story struck home for me on so many levels. It helped me to realize I need to makes some changes myself and need to be not so hard on myself about things out of my control. Id recommend having some kleenex close by as you read this story of a moms guilt and discovering herself after tragedy strikes her family. I could go on and on about this but I won’t. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
