Renegade (The Mercenaries Series Book 1) by Raven White – Review by Lisa Helmick

Renegade (The Mercenaries #1)Renegade by Raven White
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a first time author for me. I was intrigued by this series. Alpha men and they are protectors….WHERE DO I SIGN UP? Double the fun! This is kind of an insta-love along with a friend little sister genre. I thought This really got better the further along it went. One of my problems were her injuries and the sex that came after the hospital release. It seemed unlikely that they would get together with her terrible injuries…OR that he would care for her welfare and wait Until she had recovered a bit before diving in. Their activities in the bedroom seem pretty rigorous and I kept saying Ow…Ow…Ow for her. I also would have thought the police would have been interviewing her after the first attempt as well but nothing.

The characters were sexy, strong and kept the tummy flutters were a fluttering. I liked Eliza’s attitude. Growing up with a hard headed brother gave her a heads up dealing with Sam. There is a large crew of mercenaries. They all have different and fun personalities. I enjoyed the bond they have with each other but I got tired of their “Copy That” response.

Overall this is a suspenseful sexy story. It has it’s good and not so good parts. With a bit more time and length to fully flesh out situations this would be superb. But as right now it’s a fun read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows (Book Two 2) by K. H. Jones. I once again found myself completely drawn into this story. I like books that take me by surprise and this one definitely hit that level. Once again we’re taken on quite the journey with this cast of characters and I enjoyed it just as much as the last book. The characters truly draw readers into their world and you can’t help but settle in for the adventure the author takes you on. The words jump off the pages and came alive before my eyes. If you’re looking for a book that has your imagination running this is exactly what you want and need. It’s well written and paced nicely with characters that hook you from start to finish! Four big stars and highly recommended!

The Traveler: Chimera RebellionThe Traveler: Chimera Rebellion by Shannon Nemechek
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traveler: Chimera Rebellion was a great 5 star read.and book one in the Book of Eleanor series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning. Katie is in Savannah enjoying a vacation, when she hears a story that intrigues her. She is determined to find the book. She ends up traveling back in time. This is where she meets Colm O’Donnell and things get more interesting from here.

Will Katie stay in the past or come back to the present time?

Overall, this was a great read. I really loved all of the characters. The authors writing pulls you right into the story and you feel like your there with them. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

Naughty & Nice (Spicetopia Book 4) by Phoebe Alexander. I simply can’t get enough of this series and this book just added to my already huge love of it. This author just doesn’t know how to do anything without putting what could only be her whole heart into every single story. Because I feel it in each one. This one may have squeezed it’s way into my top favorite but shh don’t tell on me. From page one I was completely drawn into Micah and Natalie’s world where I loved being even though it never lasts long enough for me. This is one story world I wish I could life. The author knows just how to keep readers hooked and hooks me every time! It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I loved every minute of it. So excited for more. We are back in Spicetopia. We get to know Micah and Natalie. They are working together to bring together Cy’s and Jolie’s holiday wedding to life. I love the interaction between the two of them. They have ups and downs, but I love how their story wraps up. This story is a great addition to this series!

This is the 4th book in the spicetopia series and i thought it was great! This can be read as a standalone but this series is a good one, so I would suggest reading them from the beginning to get the whole reading experience the author has made for us. This is probably my favorite book out of the series. This author just keeps getting better and better, and I couldn’t put this book down. I devoured it. Natalie and Micha’s story was amazing. They had such a STRONG chemistry from the get go, so the steamyness was off the charts! I was rooting for them the whole time because they were very likeable characters and they made this a MUST READ story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and she has become one of my go to’s for future reads. Go grab this one now, you won’t regret it!
Happy Reading!

Hidden Obsession (An Alliance Agency Novel Book 2) by Maddie Wade & India Kells – Review by Randy Murphy

Hidden Obsession (An Alliance Agency Novel #2)Hidden Obsession by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first book in the series introduced Cleo and Mason. It was easy to tell that they had chemistry and were fighting it, but it was merely a hint of where their story starts. Hidden Obsession has action, romance, mystery, trauma, and suspense to take you through a plethora of feelings. It’s clear these two are right for each other even when they’re being stubborn or get lost in negative self-talk. The story consists of 3 or 4 sub-plots that unfold to make this story unique as they work together to bring out the emotions and build the story to its happy ending. This story has enough real in it to be able to visualize the scenes and feel the tension. This book is an outstanding addition to the series.

Wow! What did I just read? This book is not for those under 18.
Due to adult content, plus it is too hot to handle. Your steamy story has arrived.

This is Dr. Micah Green and Natalie Roux incredible story. This is the first time I was shocked. In a good way, but WOW. Take a ride on the Spicetopia Express. What a theme park, and what story to be read. Open that first chapter and your hooked. Will Dr. Green get the girl or will Natalie get the Dr.?

Phoebe Alexander has done it again. This book is well written and a fast read. I love Dr Green and Natalie, their the perfect couple. Their friends just help the story flow freely. Oh did I mention the comedy? I laughed, cried and was shocked as well. Thank you for the fourth book in this series! Phoebe Alexander has written an excellent series and I look forward to her next book.

The Traveler: Chimera Rebellion (The Book of Eleanor Book 1) by Shannon Nemechek is full of Magic, romance, and time travel. I fell in love with it immediately. Katie is taking a break before beginning her new role and managing her PTSD. She stumbles on a story that is a huge part of the small Georgia town history that she us somehow tied to. I loved following her and learning of Colm and Eleanor. Each of these characters was amazing and realistic. I loved the Bits of history mixed into this fun story. It was an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Master’s Rise: Book One (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie is a book that I enjoyed reading. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I just couldn’t put it down. I loved reading about the characters of Cort and Seren. Cort is a man that had been lied to. He now finds himself dealing with what has happened in the past and also with the present. He also finds himself with a deep attraction to Seren. Seren is an intelligent, strong, independent, and beautiful woman. She is often underestimated and those who try to mess with her learn how strong she really is. She also has an attraction to Cort. They have chemistry. What does the future hold for Cort and Seren? The past haunts Cort. Will he be able to bring the Brotherhood back together? Read this book to find out. Seren and Cort are characters that I found myself rooting for. This book does have some romantic moments that make the temperature in the room rise. There are many additional characters that are introduced that I enjoyed reading about. This is the first book in a series, and I believe that the author has done an amazing job with both the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait for the next book.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Phoebe Alexander’s books will consume you! Her books are NOTHING I have ever read and nothing can be compared to them! She never sticks with the usual tropes in romance. She makes her own and owns them!

I loved this next installment in the Spicetopia series. Wedding bells are in the air and wedding planner, Natalie takes her job completely serious that is until the minister shows up and completely blows her world apart!

This is probably my favorite in the series so far but I can’t decide as I loved them all!

The fourth book in the Spicetopia series is just like the others, nothing short of wonderful. In this installment we get to meet 2 new faces to the Spicetopia family, Micah and Natalie. This was the best story to me, out of the three previous books. I really enjoyed watching Micah and Natalie’s relationship slowly progress and witness the attraction between them as well as the drama that unfolds. This couple is definitely top two in my book, I still can’t let go of the couple that started it all, Cy and Jolie. I am completely in love with this series and it seems to get better and better with each book. I don’t mind if this series continues to grow, I will eagerly be awaiting for the next installment.

This is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read more from her. This is one of my favorite types of books, MC and hot, steamy romance. I was pulled into this book from the very start and kept engaged until the end. This is a fast page turner that is well develped with characters that make the story feel realistic. Colt has lost faith in his MC Brothers but not anything else he was taught. Seren is about to find out the most important lessons he learned. I highly recommend their story.

Naughty & Nice is book 4 in the Spicetopia series written by Phoebe Alexander and this is a great series. We get to see some old faces from the previous books as well as meet some new ones. The characters are well written with strong personalities and quirky ways. The plot was great.

The big day for Spicetopia, is approaching and Natalie is planning Cy and Jolie’s wedding. She meets Micah when he arrives a few days early. He is officiating the nuptials and was a little interested in checking out the park. She wanted to make a good first impression, but the minister they brought in to officiate the ceremony was a sugarplum she wouldn’t mind sinking her teeth into. She needed to keep her hands and mouth to herself if she was going to pull off the holiday wedding of the century!

Micah Greene, he worked so hard to keep himself on the straight and narrow after he saw what promiscuity and debauchery had done to his brothers. He didn’t know what to expect when he was asked to officiate a wedding at a theme park catering to “grown-ups.” He would somehow resist the seductress event planner he had to work with. No matter how hard it was.

They could work together for one week, right? How hard could it be? You will need to read this story to find out, but I suggest you read all the books in order, so you know what’s going on.

I highly recommend this book/series….

This is the second book in the series.
In this story we follow Ian Troy with his journey from being captured and drugged, to finding his way back to the man he once was.

Along the way he delivers some retribution which leaves his skin marked. Why this happens no one knows but they search to find out.

To become the person the resistance need him to be he needs to be able to use his magic and control his addiction. The risk of him not being able to do that are too high.

Its an amazing second book to the series and i cant wait to read the third.

Oh my word, Phoebe Alexander has done it again. I have loved this series so far, and I hope she writes more.
Natalie is planning the wedding of Cy and Jolie (yay!), and when the officiant shows up a week before the wedding, she’s to show him around. This had me laughing as we all know the park is adult themed and I think this author is the only one who could pull this off the way she did.
So much has happened in this series and each book is flawless, and does a great job of highlighting each couple and the things that set them apart but also what ties them altogether.
I finished this book in one afternoon sitting and i can’t wait to start from the beginning and read the whole series again.

Amy’s Santa (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Amy's Santa (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #1)Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amy’s Santa is the first book in the 2nd Generation of Satan’s Devils MC. I first started reading Manda Mellett’s amazing MC books near the end of the first generation series and have read all of the Colorado Chapter books so far and I think these books just keep getting better and better. Each book is new and innovative and the stories are fresh and not repetitive at all as can happen when you write about the same group of people.
I loved that in this 2nd generation, all the old (in more ways than one) characters are still around creating mischief even though their bodies aren’t quite what they used to be.
In this book we get the story of Amy, daughter of heart, and Drew (now Wizard) who has taken over from Drummer as Prez. This is certainly no hearts and flowers romance novel. The subject matter is quite dark in parts and there are also scenes which are quite gruesome. As ever with Manda Mellett’s MC books there are some hot and steamy sexy times going on too.
One thing I loved was how the author got the name for this book. That certainly was a scene to remember.
Having finished this book, I can’t wait to get my next fix of the Satan’s Devils MC.

From the very beginning to the very end of The Travelers: Chimera Rebellion, I was pleasantly surprised with how this story was woven. This book deserves 5 stars and I believe it is a definite must read! This book made me feel every emotion at once, and I loved it. From curiosity to anger, defeat to hope, and everything in between! Katie and Calm’s story is stunning from start to finish with mild violence, mild sexual scenes, and minor language. I am very eager to see how Katie’s story continues in book 2 of this series, Chimera Revolution! “Sleep, my darling. Tomorrow we have our whole lives ahead of us. Tomorrow, we are one.”

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have absolutely loved the Spicetopia books from Phoebe Alexander and was so anxious to get my hands on this latest installment in the series. I feel like I have said this with each book in this particular series but it rings so true, this book is my new favorite of the set. I personally love holiday romance novels and to get one from one of my top 5 favorite authors I was super excited. Once again Phoebe Alexander does not disappoint.

Naughty & Nice brings us back to the adult themed theme park that we have completely fallen in love with. This time the owner’s wedding is on the books. Natalie Roux is in charge of making this the wedding of the century and is feeling fairly confident in her abilities until she meets the smexy Micah Green. These two have a noticeable chemistry from the very first second that they lay eyes on each other. Will they be able to stay focused and make this an amazing wedding?

There is so much of everything in this book that anyone is bound to find something to love about it. Everything from drama, laughter, steam, and romance to a few twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. I would definitely go back and start with book one and read them in order if you could before starting this one. I am going to do a reread soon of these gems and I sure hope we see some more Spicetopia in the future!

Amy's Santa (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #1)Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story has some of our favorite characters from Mellet’s other series visiting for the “event of the century!” The beginning of Amy’s Santa shows us the love that Amy and Drew have for each other, regardless of their age difference. Only time will tell if that difference keeps them apart.

This story has motorcycle clubs, love, violence, family and BDSM situations. The story is easy to read and action packed. Mellet does a good job with the characters and their reactions to the situations that happen.

No need to read the other series first but just know, after reading any of Mellet’s MC’s books will get you wanting to read all of them!

Magic-Scars (The Crown of Stones, #2)Magic-Scars by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars is the second book in “The Crown of Stones” trilogy and I highly recommend reading this series in order.

As with Magic-Price, this tale is told in the first person narrative and is full of action. I’m so grateful that I am reading these stories after the entire trilogy has been published. I can’t imagine having to wait for the next to be released.

The story is almost told from a moralistic point of view. Decisions that are made ALWAYS have consequences. When a faction suppresses natural “order” sometimes the price that must be paid is higher than the results initially gained. Manipulation of societies is NEVER a good idea and perhaps folks in today’s socio-economical environment could learn a thing or two from reading this fictional account of good vs evil. – I digress…

As an arch from book 1 to book 3 the story flows forward and the protagonist has some growth that was good to see. This is a fast paced adventurous tale that I did skim a little bit. There were times when things felt a little repetitive, but that is to be expected I think.

On to book 3…

I really enjoyed this book. An adventure through time, some historical romance, and a bit of book nerd, this reminded me of ‘Outlander’. This is definitely a page-turner, and I loved the plot and characters. Although the beginning was a little narrative-heavy, the story picks up and I really enjoyed the dialogue and the writing style hooked me in. Cy and Jolie are finally getting married. Cy has invited his parents to the wedding which takes place in Spicetopia. What could go wrong? Pretty much everything when the Sweets are involved, starting with the minister arriving a week early. Jolie is already stressed to the max so she enlists her event coordinator to take care of Micah. After meeting him, Natalie wants to take care of him in more ways than one. How is she supposed to entertain a minister in an amusement park specialized in sexual fantasies and fetishes?

I found this book to be quite entertaining and amusing. It’s another wonderful addition to this series. Just when you thought you read it all, Ms. Alexander comes out with another book to top the others. The story takes place at Christmas so this was the perfect time of the year to read it. Loved it!

Amy's Santa (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #1)Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amy grew up around the Satan’s Devils MC and has been away from them for many years now. Christmas seems to be the only time Amy will visit but this year she is dreading the return. She is afraid of what people may or may not pick up on, as well as what they might think of the company she is bringing. But she knows she has to do this, because not showing up would be far worse in their protective eyes. As the story evolves you see Amy’s true colors start to shine through as she starts to gain back the confidence she tragically lost.

I thought this book would end up being just another MC book, but I was kept on my toes as the story went through some crazy plot twists and turns. The common theme of family and brotherhood was definitely present through this whole story which was heartwarming to read. However, readers should take heed to the author’s note about the story being dark in places and may contain triggers. While this could be a testament to the author’s descriptive abilities, there was one chapter that I found difficult to stomach while reading.

Naughty & Nice by Phoebe Alexander is the 4th book in the Spicetopia series. I will rave and rave forever about all of the books in this series but this one takes the cake!!! I loved every book in this series but this one with the perfect characters and the perfect story opened my own eyes to so many things! The story of Natalie and Micah is just pure perfection. Micah is a minister of sorts who has been asked to marry Cy and Jolie at the Spicetopia theme park for adults. Ya’ll who would have thought to bring a sweet and innocent hunk of a minister into a giant adult park… Phoebe Alexander… THAT’S WHO! And boyyy is he out of his element here at the park. Thank goodness he has a sweet vixen, Natalie, to show him around the park and keep him as inside of his comfort circle as she can. Because she is the parks event planner she is balancing between helping Micah adjust to what goes on in the park and planning the wedding. Natalie soon challenges Micah to have an open mind with the things going on inside the park and as the two get to know more of one another, and the beliefs of both come out, there may be no turning back the realizations that are happening to the both of them. This book was flawless… I am sad that I finished it so quickly but I just couldn’t put it down.

Amy's Santa (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #1)Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is almost bittersweet to read. I enjoy the new guys at the helm and the whole second gen thing. Equally I am sad reading about how old and decrepit the original guys are. I am thinking they are only 50-60ish (I know they lived hard) but hearing about their creaky/sore bums, backs and legs from riding a couple hours? They just don’t seem that old. Especially since Drew is almost 40. I struggled wrapping my head around this. I did enjoy how relaxed the original guys were. Joking and laughing around and causing trouble for the new Prez.

Amy’s story is something I didn’t expect. She was so sweet and nurturing while growing up. Hence becoming a nurse but she has a darker side that is just different. Tragedy happens then she needs to return to the compound for Christmas festivities and face Drew and the family.

Wizard formerly Drew was Amy’s best friend growing up. Once a crush was developed Wiz had to put a stop to it since he is ten yrs older. That stop changed everything between them.

I did love seeing the clubhouse at Christmas time. Everyone being there. All the joking and back slapping. Seemed like old times. This is a fun enjoyable story with a touch of dark and danger.
