Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book One) AUDIO BOOK by KG Fletcher – Review by Jenique Bornman

K.G Fletcher’s writing has this way to transport you into the here and now of what the characters are experiencing.
Em and Cappy are two characters that I couldn’t find one fault in. I absolutely adored their friends to lovers story especially because it’s a few years later and they still had this spark between them. It makes you believe that love does last.
I’m assuming by the name being the same that the Author is also the narrator. I’ve come to find that I actually like it more when the authors narrate their own books because they have a closer bond with the characters.
I see that the next book in the series is also available, I’m grabbing it now.

Becoming Human by Amy Michelle Carpenter – Review by Rochelle Ferguson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a quick read about respecting everyone’s differences. Although I would have loved to gain more development into the 3 characters, I enjoyed the sci-fi and magic aspects. At times, I felt that the pace of the book became inconsistent and dull at times.

I really enjoyed this story. The author does a great job of making the characters engaging and believable. I thought at first it would be hard to follow 3 different characters and their stories but the author makes it very easy to keep up with each character. I love the sci-fi aspect of this story and also the magic around 2 of the characters.

The 3 characters in the book are a teenage boy who doesn’t believe in aliens, an alien who is sent to earth to help save her race, and a robot who’s job is to protect earth. Despite their differences they need to learn to respect each other and work together.

It’s a great story about people and their differences and how by respecting each other we can achieve great things

Wow! What can I say? Becoming Human by Amy Michelle Carpenter was such a ride of a novel and read. I was entrances from the first chapter and didn’t want to put this story down. There was so much character, and heart, sci-fi and suspense. This has quickly become a favorite read for me. I didn’t think I would like it as much when I first picked it up, but whew did Carpenter change my mind! Ags has to be my favorite character. She’s the most emotional, the one with the most character and heart, and she feels things so exuberantly and deeply, it was like reading through a child’s perspective almost. My only complaint is that there isn’t more! I desperately want a sequel to this novel!

This is a cute Christmas romance to read in time for the holidays. Charlie has always had a crush on Audra. When he wakes up beside her after the office Christmas party, it was a dream come true for him. Audra, on the other hand, has mixed feelings. As much as she enjoyed the night with Charlie, she’s been burned by an office romance before. They are both up for the same promotion and their relationship could get in the way of that. Can this relationship work or will it end up being another office mistake? I really enjoyed the story and so will you.

The Kissing Bough (Forbidden Loves) by Madelynne Ellis – Review by Jennifer Gordon

The Kissing Bough (Forbidden Loves, #1)The Kissing Bough by Madelynne Ellis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this steamy Regency ménage by Madelynne Ellis. Our heroine, Viola Marsh is a young women who after a misunderstanding has been forced to live an austere life, locked away in her old nursery with her spinster aunt constantly watching her. Her family have basically given up on her and her brothers only give her attention when forced to, due to the social etiquette of the times. Viola’s highlight is on Christmas Eve when she is allowed to take part in the tradition of wassailing, having been abandoned by her older brother Viola carries on with her tradition of standing under the ‘Kissing Bough’. It is here that cousins Percy Gilling and Lord William Ricborough come across Viola poised beneath the mistletoe on the snow-covered hilltop. Following a kiss from William, the pair escort her home and when they meet again at her families ball that evening Will and Percy confide in Viola that although Will’s intentions towards her are honourable he and Percy have a close and unique relationship, and they require a very particular woman who can satisfy both their needs. A shocked Viola has to decide whether to take a chance on their proposal or return to her lonely and quiet life in the nursery.
The author really bought the Regency era to life along with all the varies etiquette’s that young ladies had to live by. I really felt for Viola and was cheering her on hoping she would get her happy ever after. The chemistry between Viola, William and Percy really came across in the story and led to some rather detailed steamy scenes. An enjoyable and engaging read and I look forward to reading more books by Madelynne Ellis.

This is my second book by this author and I love it even more than the first. The setting is beautiful, you can feel like you are there. The author does a great job of describing without over subscribing. I love the main character Joanie and all the secondary characters, especially Sarah. I enjoyed how the author intertwined the characters, the town, and the yearly Christmas traditions. You could feel the coziness of the town, how everyone was connected and friendly. Throw in a couple of hijinks, a little mystery, some laughter, and some good recipes and you have yourself a sweet cozy mystery. My only question was what happened to Meredith from the previous book? I can’t wait to dive in to the rest of the books by this author. Her writing style is sweet and light which is perfect!

What happens when he realizes who she is and that she is totally off limits.

This was a really enjoyable read. I love Christmas stories so I was really looking forward to starting this one and it didn’t disappoint at all. It was on the shorter side but it was still a perfect read. I loved the characters and felt a really connection with them, they were well planned and thought out in my opinion. I really liked Chloe, she was a nice character to read about and I loved Jason, he wasn’t what I expected at first and I fell in love with him straight away. I thought that they both had a lovely connection! There were some very sweet moments between them.
All in all this was a lovely romantic Christmas read and one that I highly recommend! I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Jordan’s Justice: A New Adult Sport Romance (Tessa and Jordan #2) by T. Christensen – Review by Amanda Kimble

5/5 Stars

Jordan’s Justice: A New Adult Sport Romance (Tessa and Jordan Book 2) by T. Christensen

Christensen is a fantastic author. Jordan’s Justice is a fantastic read and I can’t wait for more.

Tessa is a single mom and she hasn’t had contact with the father in four years. Seeing him again brings back everything she was running from. Jordis is Tessa’s life and Jordan wants to take her. The quote I chose for Tessa is: “You are only allowed to see my daughter when someone else is present, Christina, and it is only because I think she should know her grandparents, even her coldhearted, manipulative one. If I ever get even an inkling of you being anything other than a doting grandma, we will disappear so fast it will make your head spin. You wanted me to abort the granddaughter you pretend to care so much about. You will never have a say in how I raise her.”

Jordan is a huge NBA player. Becoming an ambassador to the Community Center Tessa works is one way to get under her skin. When he finds that he’s got a daughter things blow up. The quote I chose for Jordan is: “What she told me is true? You found her at the pool house door? She didn’t come to see you specifically? Did you give her the check, or did she ask for it?”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Sport Romance lovers.

Matching Miriam by Mya O’Malley

This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I loved it! If you love crime with a twist then this is the book for you!

Miriam is a cop who is now looking for a decade killer. Her neighbor and good friend tells her that she had a vision ending in Miriam’s life. When an ex comes back into the picture it changes things. The quote I chose for Miriam is: “We can rest on the plane ride home tomorrow morning. Right now I want to talk to Kevin. I have a killer on my tail, the sooner we solve this case, the sooner I can relax without thinking someone will come up from behind me and stick a knife in my back.”

Jesse is back in town and he wants to see Miriam. He’s still in love with her and doesn’t want to let her go. The quote I chose for Jesse is: “We should probably start heading back. I need to get some cat food and a litter box and then get Josie over to Miriam’s place.”

Highly recommended for crime lovers.

OFFICE MISTAKES by BETH HALE – Review by Angela Shirley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When you have a crush on a fellow co-worker but will never do anything about it as office romances always go wrong.

Aurda was up for a big promotion but so was Charlie, the only probably she has an attraction to Charlie but an office romance never goes well especially when they are in direct competition with each other.

Charlie has been attracted to Aurda ever since she stepped into his life but they are definitely in friends zone at the moment until one night changes that forever.

I loved this story of love and chemistry, letting your feelings just take over and throw caution to the wind. Both the lead characters compliment each other perfect and the chemistry and banter between them was brilliant. I was hooked from the first words until the last, with this well written story you feel like your transported within the story.

Unwrapping Noel is hands down the best holiday story I read/listened to this year. It made me laugh and cry, which is how I like to judge my books. This one brought awareness to being happy with yourself no matter your size. Noel and Leon are wonderful characters with a real connection. The witty banter was extremely entertaining. If you’re looking for a good holiday romance, I highly recommend this book.
This is the first book I listened to narrated by Sara Gordon, but definitely not the last. She brought the characters to life. Her voice was smooth and she really landed those sarcastic quips thrown about.

Jordan’s Justice is the second book in the Tessa and Jordan series by T. Christensen. I recommend reading the first book in this series if you haven’t already as this is the continuance of there story. This is a Sports Romance that once you start reading you won’t want to put it down till you finish. Jordan and Tessa , he’s a star basketball player and she’s a single mom and caretaker trying her best. She was managing until after fours years then she sees him again. Jordan isn’t nice to her at all but he’s got his mind made up about what he thinks the truth really is. Find out what happens next in this emotional rollercoaster ride. My emotions were all over the place. Ill be honest I wasn’t a fan of Jordan’s at first but that changed quickly. I highly recommend reading this whole series if you haven’t started reading already. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jordan’s Justice: A New Adult Sport Romance (Tessa and Jordan Book 2) by T. Christensen was a great 5 star read. I was so excited to get the next book in the series, I made the mistake of starting the book when I went to bed, I was up until 4am because I couldn’t put it down.

Tessa has moved on with her life and is doing the best she can. When she comes face-to-face with Jordan at an event she is shocked and after their encounter she runs home. When he makes an unexpected appearance at her door she agrees to meet him and talk. There is another twist when she is at work and sees him walking in with her boss, that’s when things hit the fan and he learns the truth.

Needless to say there is so much going on that my head was spinning. My heart broke for Tessa with all that she was put through and how she was treated. I have to say I really really did not like Jordan for most of the book and don’t get me started on his mother. There are so many ugly cry moments in this book so keep the Kleenex handy. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for an emotional read that pulls you right in this is the book and series for you. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
