This book is considered a Young Adult, Sci-fi genre. Becoming Human is my first book by Amy Michelle Carpenter. This story is a fast paced sci-fi story that grabbed my attention from page one until the last page. I did finish this in one sitting. I found myself turning the pages faster and faster until the end. The characters are fully developed and fun to read about in their story. One is a boy who does not believe in aliens, an alien who is all about humans, and to round off the crew there is a robot. The three of them make the story wonderful. There is a lot of action, sci-fi and magical all rolled into a great read. The three characters are coming into their age and Ms. Carpenter does an awesome job keeping the plotline moving. I highly recommend this story for a fun entertaining read.

Moonlit Whisper by Amy McKinley is such a wonderful contemporary romance read. I have always loved Amy’s works and this series, Moonlit Destination, so when I saw this was available I knew I had to know the story that was behind the gorgeous cover of Moonlit Whisper. In this book we get the story of Fiona and Connor, and what a story it is. This book packs one heck of a punch for the shorter read it is and I felt like I had lived a whole different life by the end of it. I won’t give much more than the blurb already provided so for the gritty details you will want to one click this read right now. Be prepared to fall in love with the way McKinley builds a world you won’t want to leave.
I have come to get really excited each time I see a new Irresistible Anthology come out no matter the season. I loved this one as much as the others and will once again add this to my yearly line up of holiday reads. This one has Pets to The Rescue being the theme of the sixth addition to this anthology series. I love the heartwarming and attention sucking novels that fill these pages. I love how there is something for everyone in each set included. My personal fav in this one was the inclusion of the Two Hearts Christmas Rescue a holiday novella by Tamara Ferguson that brought me back to my favorite of places that she likes to write about. This is one you don’t wanna miss.
If you need a holiday set to binge, or a set to just keep you warm as you cozy up with your favorite drink this is a set that will be perfect for you. I look forward to seeing what other Irresistible anthologies we will get in the future. The full list of the books and their authors will be listed below.
Five – Alarm Christmas : A Novella by Melinda Valentine was an erotic quick read. I loved how the story jumped right in and gave you a snippet into these characters’ lives. I loved Finley and Garret, I would love to read more with them involved. This story was on fire and definitely did not cut corners. I will definitely be looking for more books from Melinda Valentine.
CORPORATE CHRISTMAS by Bernadette Marie was my first experience reading anything by this author. I was quite surprised how much this little holiday novella had packed into a fast paced and well thought out story. I love reading holiday books this time of year that encourages my belief in love and magic and this was a perfect addition to my list this year. We get to meet Chloe and Jason as they traverse a relationship and attraction that is only hindered by outside forces beyond her control. I look forward to seeing what else is available by Ms. Marie and hope to see more holiday shorts from her in the future as well.

This is a short story about first loves and second chances. Fiona is starting her 4th year in Dublin alongside her fiancé Lachlan. When she is asked to tutor a new player, she is surprised to see the boy (who is now a man) from her past at the table. Conner is back in Dublin after living in the US with his mother when she fled the abusive ways of Conner’s father. Now he’s back and he can see that things aren’t like they were when he left. Lachlan has nothing but disdain for him and Fiona is no longer his. As the book plays out, a series of events has Fiona questioning her relationship with Lachlan and coming to terms with why Conner had to leave all those years ago. I enjoyed this story. It was a quick read…but enjoyable.
Fighting For Us by Bella Emy is the first book in the Love is Worth Fighting For series and a first for me by this author. This fast-paced, sweet single parent romance with have you wanting more.
Lorenzo lost his wife five years ago and is now raising their daughter alone. He never thought of finding love again but the night saw those red “Luscious Lips” that’s all he could think about. Carissa has given up on men until she saw a picture of an MMA fighter that had “Guns” for days. One night Carissa’s ex was giving her a hard time and here comes Lorenzo to the recuse. That night changed everything, but the question is will they FIGHT for LOVE?
This book has a wonderful set of characters from family and friends that I can’t wait to know more about. And to answer the question YES – Love is Worth Fighting for.

This short novella is a fast read that is a bit on the spicy side! Finley goes to a bar to escape her overbearing family. There, she catches the eye of a hot stranger across the bar. Before you know it, they have moved from the bar to his apartment. She is gone by morning…neither even catching the name of the other. Imagine their surprise when they meet again the next day at the firehouse Christmas party. Garrett knows rule number one at the firehouse is never go after the captain’s daughter. But, in his defense, he didn’t know who she was. Despite the rule, he can’t keep his eyes (or hands) off of Finley. Should they try to see where it goes? Or should they just obey the rule and move on? This was a quick read that was full of a lot of storyline building. I am hoping there will be a full-length story coming out so I can see what happens next!
Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For Book 1) by Bella Emy. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be my last. I loved this story. Its the story of Lorenzo who had the world by the tail. He was married to the love of his life and has a precious baby girl. When his wife is torn from his life and he’s left to raise their daughter alone he feels like his life is over. Carissa had her life all together, she had a wonderful family and a loving fiance and then he dumped her for seemingly no reason at all. Trying to pick up the pieces of her life has been hard but once she meets Lorenzo she is determined never to fall in love again. When she starts falling for Lorenzo she’s scared to death but she’s in love with him and his daughter. Will she let her heart chance getting broken again or will she lose a chance at an amazing man and daughter because she’s scared? Read Fighting For Us to find out. I can’t wait to read the second book!

Fighting For Us by Bella Emy is the first book in the Love is Worth Fighting For series. This is a brilliant and well written book with main characters that have some fantastic chemistry. For me they made this book what it is and everything became about them. Bella Emy is one of those authors with a strong writing style that draws you into the book and has you hooked from start to finish. This is exactly what this book is like and I loved immediately. I wanted to know how these characters would make things work and wanted them so badly to find a happy ending. This is a well writing and amazing book and is one that I would highly recommend.

This is the kind of excitement I can sink my teeth into. For a hopeless romantic like me, this book hit the spot. I fell head over heels for both characters, their homestyle charm and charisma. The fact that the author took us back to their childhood touched a special place in my heart. As they enter adulthood, you’ll root for them to overcome their classism ideals. From beginning to end, this is a great story to simply fall in love with over and over again.

All good things must come to an end. Sad but true. And we have reached the final book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. At least the final book SO FAR…
I cannot say how much I have enjoyed this series. Ms. Pulkinen has an incredible ability to spin a funny, engaging tale and I have never laughed so hard reading a series as I did with this one. Ms. Pulkinen did not disappoint with this final book. If anything, she finished the series with the BEST. BOOK. YET.
Death takes a holiday…
No, really it does…well the Grim Reaper does and this causes major problems. Enlisting the help of Necromancer Jasmine Lee, he must wrangle some unruly ghosts and get them back to the underworld before the world goes to well…that place. With chemistry, that’s hot, hot, hot, and some unholy bad luck, these two have the work cut out for them!
Ms. Pulkinen again brings witty humor, twists and turns, and fantastic chemistry to the reader with Asher and Jasmine’s story. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, the steamy backdrop of the French Quarter all combine to finish out a wonderful series. Ms. Pulkinen is a wonderful storyteller and I hope upon hope that she will continue this series!

Starting with an action-packed sequence that grips the reader, this book doesn’t slow down. I fell in absolute love with the characters, the character’s action and the while that is this book. I was driven in immediately but by the way it all quickly gained my attention and piqued my interest as I’m sure it will for you. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed because even if this can be read as a standalone but the entire Moonlit collection is beautiful. Give it a read as a standalone or a collective.

I’ve read plenty of books by Mr. Stuart Ledwith and all of his previous books have hit a special place in my heart. That has instantly made Mr. Ledwith one of my favorite authors. This book is no exception to his prior books I’ve read from this author. BUT, this book HERE, it is so endearing if that fits. I day endearing because the ghost stories he so carefully selected made me feel so thrilled. Thrilled, because, it wasn’t your run-of-the-mill ghost stories. You can you tell they all came from an open space and to share a special place in his heart. That alone, touched my heart and made my mind intrigued to read the special treasure that this book is.

Corporate Christmas is a great contemporary romance by Bernadette Marie. This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I was attracted by the blurb and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I decided to take a chance with this book as I really enjoyed it and would definitely read more of Bernadette Marie’s work if this book is any thing to go by. I really loved the main female character Chloe Richardson. She’s feisty, talented and willing to work her backside off for something she really wants: and that is to land the big contract and get a promotion. However her dream crashes round her when her boss’ son hires someone for the promoted role and then fires her, even though she lands the contract, with the help of newly hired Jason Mitchell, who she really wants to hate but can’t help admiring. I really enjoyed this book. Chloe and Jason’s story is a really great read that I was drawn into from the beginning and was kept engaged in by a great storyline which is well written and flows well making it an easy read. With the added attraction of this being a Christmas story which I love reading this is a book that I’d definitely recommend.

This is my first read by this author and I LOVED it! It felt like a true cozy mystery book right from the beginning. It is funny, light-hearted, and engaging. You immediately feel connected to the characters and the humor is spot on. The relationship between the Gram, Mom, and daughter is well written and made this very short story that more enjoyable! I can’t wait to read the next one. If you enjoy, light hearted, fun, paranormal, stories you will want to go get this one asap!

What a story!! This story is about connecting with people from your past and Miriam and Jesse reconnecting after years apart. The two have a connection that lasted over the years but at the same time they needed a little help getting over the past and coming back together. I Highly recommend this book! It is inspiring and uplifting in a time when we all need it.
Jordan’s Justice: A New Adult Sport Romance (Tessa and Jordan Book 2) by T. Christensen. Ok I will be honest after the ending of Breaking Tessa I was almost afraid to read this one. Its the continuing story of Tessa Parker who is still struggling to keep everything together and Jordan Davis is the last thing she needs in her life right now. Tessa is from San Jose and not used to the spotlight at all and Jordan Davis is a star basketball player so when Tessa gets pregnant by him and lets someone supposedly looking out for Jordan bribe her she accepts. She leaves Jordan behind and tries not to look back so when he shows back up hell bent on revenge she is lost. The last thing she needs is the fallout of a mistake she made when she was young. Emotional good read.

Wow where to start with this book. It was a gripping read from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. Especially in the current world reading this story gets you thinking about the situation we find ourselves in today. The book is aimed at young adults but it is a very enjoyable read for anyone. The author does an amazing job of building the characters and creating the scenes that you feel right in the middle of the story with them.

As a first time reader of K.G. Fletcher, I am happy that The Nearness of You was the book I read. This book is a bewitching romance story between David Randle, a British supermodel on holiday to attend his sister’s wedding, and Lauren Rose, a lounge singer with dreams of making it big. Add in a dastardly assistant with not-so-nice intentions for some great angst, some great locations, and meddling family and you have yourself a fairy tale with a modern twist. Ms. Fletcher does a wonderful job of keeping the reader entertained and engaged throughout the book. The off-the-charts chemistry between David and Lauren, the wholesomeness and down-to-earth personalities, and fun-loving sub-characters makes the story a very enjoyable read. A wonderful touch that Ms. Fletcher adds, is a playlist of music for the story (which can be found in the back of the book). This very much enhanced the story taking it from merely romantic to whimsical and enchanting. The music also lends a lyrical quality to the story that helps the story flow seamlessly. If you are looking for a book that is TRUE ROMANCE then this is the one you should definitely pick up. Ms. Fletcher has gained another fan of her books and I am looking forward to diving into her other tales!

Fiona and Connor have had some time apart but are now reunited. Can a blast from the past changed Fiona mind about where she is at the moment. This is a lovely short romance book. This story keep me glued from start to finish I finished on one reading session.
Nice, quick, steamy holiday read. The characters were interesting, interesting enough that when the book was over, I wanted more of them. How Finley and Garrett meet, as strangers at a bar, and the come to find out that they are actually in the same social circle due to his work, is fun to watch when the drama unfolds. The men of the firehouse and Finley’s brothers are all protective of her which is sweet but, its annoying when she thinks she has finally found something that could go somewhere with Garrett. Their relationship and the draw they have to each other is sweet and I was satisfied with how it ended but, hope maybe someday there will be more with these characters.

Ginger and Emmy are friends.Emmy is an amazing friend to ginger. Ginger life has changed forever as an accident occurred. Daisy their daughter is left with her momma and grandma. Jonathan has also been through a lot and has rerouted in this seaside town. What can happen with these two when they meet. This book has had me in tears and laughter. The way the author emphasis her voice on each of the character helps set the tone even more. The author does a brilliant job of the audio. I could see this book as a movie. Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie was a good 4 star read.
Chloe is a hard worker, so much so that she missed Thanksgiving with her family. She is working towards a promotion that she should have in the bag. When she meets Jason he has come into the office to speak with her boss’s son.
Jason gets the impression that Chloe is surprised to find out who he is. He doesn’t feel right about the situation and soon finds out that he had taken the job she was working towards. When he finds out the truth about Chloe’s departure from the company he is even more upset.
When Jason shows up in Aubrey Heights, Chloe is confused as to why he’s there. Will he be able to convince Chloe to work with him? Will these two give into their attraction and get a HEA?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I didn’t care too much for the boss’s son, and hated what he had done to Chloe. I really liked Chloe, she is a hard working woman with a great personality. Jason grew on me as well, the chemistry between them was great. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today on this great holiday read.

Lauren Rose is a lounge singer by night and a teacher of theatre students by day, she is a woman with a beautiful voice and a personality to match, she sings in the lounge of the St Regis hotel with her friend Miles on the baby grand and has people who regularly go to hear her and she sings the song that they request and it always turns her mood to the positive and this friday night is no different, that is until she bumps into David Randle on the way back from the bathroom and becomes completely star struck, after all, he is a male model and has the most gorgeous face she has ever seen, as they have a drink during Lauren’s break, she manages to form words and converse with him, but still remains utterly star struck until her break is over and she and Miles head back to the stage for the end of their set for the night, including the request from her regular and a special song for David. Afterwards, he asks if he can but her a proper drink and she agrees, they end up drinking and talking into the early hours of the morning about everything, including why he is in Atlanta in the first place and when he asks to see her again for breakfast, she cannot believe her luck and agrees to meet him.
That night, she cannot sleep from thinking about the night and the breakfast date to come, so she gives up and gets some coffee on the go, picking out an outfit, she gets ready and is at the hotel a few minutes earlier than planned, this impresses David and they walk to a local diner which serves the breakfast that David wants to try, it is a lot different to where he normally goes, but is more than happy to give it a try. Like the night before, the conversation flows and they talk more about their travels, plus more about his family and his sisters wedding and as they walk back to the hotel and she feels like their time together is coming to an end, he surprises her by asking for a kiss and wanting to see her again.
This is a continuing theme when he asks her to attend his sister’s wedding and be his date and as they spend more time together and Lauren meets his sister and her now husband, they all get on like a house on fire and when David’s sister asks her to sing a song for her with the wedding band, she agrees, this is when she really shows off her voice and gets an offer for a job from the band leader at the same time. As the rest of the evening passes and they talk more in David’s hotel suite, including about the upcoming campaign and release of his own cologne, Drive, they can’t keep their hands off each other and they feel like they are meant for each other, but when a trip to New York to see David at work happens, his assistant starts to become a problem and tries to keep them apart, so when things go wrong and it is a choice between their happiness and David’s career, it is a decision neither of them want to make, but have to.
This is a whirlwind romance with a dash of celebrity while also talking about the differences between fame and obscurity, but will this tear the two apart or make them stronger? The only way to find out is to read the book.
