A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great addition to this series! Once again, K.G. Fletcher wrote a novella full of warm and fuzzies. Its because of this author I’ve found a love for holiday romance stories! So many feelings are packed into these quick reads, but by the end I’m content and happy. Amber and Gio both had their problems, but the attraction was there from the beginning. I loved reading every page of their story!

This is a gut wrenching story of real life experiences of young women in the 1960s.
I have never cried so hard.
Choices
Life and death.
Feeling free while being held hostage mentally, emotionally and physically.
This story proves how history comes around full circle.
Every single woman in the world needs to read this.
I have never connected with a story so much.
As a teen mother I finished this story and kissed my daughter.
This author had me transported back in time.
Culture, politics, real life situations.
So beautifully written I don’t think any review will show it true justice.
I am still crying.
AMAZING!!!!!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Lisa Helmick

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whoa! What a story! Really.. I was blown away! What I love about this is the look behind the rock star. Sure there are band moments but this really is about Jared and his life. I enjoyed how little moments became larger moments and really I just loved Jared and his devotion to Mr C.

The feelings displayed by the characters and also *felt* by the reader are immense. Many times I want to Hoot and Holler for Jared and other times I wanted to put my hand on his shoulder in commiseration. I really felt his joy even if they were happy tears. Cookie is a delight. Feisty, sassy and stands up for herself. I loved her interaction with Mr C. She is someone everyone would love to have on their staff.

I love and enjoy seeing all the guys in the band. They are truly brothers first and band members second. It shows over and over in this story. I love the joking and noodling. Even when Kade laid into one of the other characters…I was like..Yup don’t mess with him!

These stories are so much more that just rock star romance. There is depth behind each of them that makes the reader go through a hoard or emotions. I laughed, cried, felt empathy and was surprised while reading. I easily end up loving all the characters and could see myself rereading this one. I eagerly look forward to Lennox’ story.

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Desiree Ottinger

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a quick, sweet Christmas read!

Amber doesn’t celebrate Christmas because of her very lonely past. In fact, the town knows her as a self-proclaimed grinch. Everything changes when she meets Gio, though. It is love at first sight. But then she learns he has a kid, and doubt starts creeping into her heart. Can she deal with her past so that she can open her heart to include others? Will she be able to move past her feelings of not measuring up to others to see what is being offered to her?

I enjoyed the story line. It was heart breaking for me to imagine what Amber must have gone through growing up the way she did. The characters were rather easy to relate to, which made the story flow very quickly for me. I enjoyed getting to know them and seeing them happy in the end.

I like the format of this book it is different to a tradional book. The meeting of these three women and how they meet at a critical stage in all their lives compels me.
This book deals with alot of hard hitting issue that happen in society today and back then sometimes things don’t change. This book has a few hit and misses within the writing style and a few inconsistencies in the story as well as a few plot holes that leave you wondering. The first half of this book is very quickly paced with giving you a glimpse into each character from their POV you get to understand 1960s American ladies. This is a very interesting read.

I haven’t read the frist few series of this I will admit. Madsion and Jared Intinal intreactons are snappy at each other. As the story progess Madsion and Jared intreactons become for frequent due to her caring for his dad. At times we see frustrations from both side and reading through both side makes it more understandable

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds Book 1) by Bree Moore – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds series. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy adventure and look forward to continuing to read the series!
Lee, the protagonist, has powers which are strongest when she is in liminal spaces. Empty laundromats, museums after hours and other such places turn up a lot in this book. It makes for a wonderful, mysterious urban fantasy world.
This book features an exciting cast of characters with different powers. All their powers have downsides as well, and I like the extent to which this book explores the cost of magic. For example, Sam (one of my favourites!) can see people’s intentions, but this means he struggles to go out in public where he is overwhelmed by the information he gets from everyone around him.
There are plenty of complications in this book. Everyone wants different things and few, if any, are fully trustworthy. There are mysteries galore, which keep readers turning the pages.
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasy and magical heists. This is a very promising start to the series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m hooked! This authors writing style is not only all encompassing, but being that this is the first novel in this series I have read, I didn’t feel too lost when it came to the characters, story line, and friendships/enemies that all come together to create this series. I found it very neat the way she writes in third person so that you develop a greater appreciation for all the magnificent characters personalities, their outlook on the events that unfold, and their innermost thoughts. I love it!

I very much look forward to reading the first four books in this series, and the remainder of them as they’re released in 2022. It appears each novel has its own side story within the main story and gives you far more character development, and indulgent world building than a lot of novels I have read in the past. Damien Daughtry and Rhiannon’s story, along with their daughters are a few of the ones that I really want to learn more about. Will certainly be recommending to all my bookworm friends!

The Unholy by Paul DeBlassie III – Review by Allyson Ware

This novel took off like a bolt of lightning across the sky. From the very beginning it held my interest. It dove right into the action and never ceased. Any horror fans would love to get their hands on this book. A very fast read, great character development, and intense plot. It is not scary in the sense of shock, but it is definitely scary in the sense of the reality that this story takes on. It terrifies me to think about the fact that there are probably priests out there in this world that behave in these ways.

What a fantastic addition to the series this book is. This book is all about the characters. Right from the word go they have such a strong connection. Their chemistry is obvious in every page and they really take over the when book.
What I also really enjoyed about this book is that is had a depth about it that that don’t often find with rock star romances. It made it much easier to engage with the story as it developed.
This was a great book overall and a strong series that is worth a read.

Paranormal Shifter books are some of my favorite. Never have I come across a swan shifter but love the idea. This story has everything you could ever want in a paranormal romance. Love, angst, beauty, evil and of course good triumphs. One note I do have is … I need these recipes! Seriously hire a chef to come up with the recipes for this food! I absolutely loved Ember’s story and cannot wait for the next one to come around.
The details of both the story and the characters are vast and in-depth! I absolutely enjoyed the introduction to Māori society.

This is the sixth book in this series. I highly recommend reading the previous books in order to get the full scope of the overarching story line.
Finally! We get to know Oz. It’s been quite a journey to get to this point, each brother bringing another layer to the picture. Loved Sasha’s character – brave, strong, resourceful. I found the direction that the author took Sasha’s past was interesting. It wasn’t what I expected and definitely added an intriguing layer to the character.
There are a lot of other things I could comment on, but it would contain spoilers.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the series but each can be read as a stand-alone. I had read, and loved, the 2nd book but haven’t read the first book, something I need to remedy.
This book come under the trope of Rock Star romance but it is so, so much more than that. The author tackles 2 difficult subjects, those being speech difficulties and dementia, and she does so in an amazing manner. She really highlights the pain and suffering that those with these issues, and their loved ones, go though. She does an incredible job of tugging at the heartstrings and taking you through an emotional roller coaster of a journey.
I adored both of the main characters Jared and Madison (Cookie). I totally fell in love with Madison’s character immediately, when I read the email reply that she sent to Jared. She’s a total badass who is damn good at her job and takes no prisoners. Jared really tore at my heartstrings. I just wanted to give him a huge hug so many times. Just how much can one man take in his life. The very fact that I had so many emotions just shows how well this author is at character building.
I loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this series.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was truly amazing, from start to finish, I felt so much, I really felt for the characters and what they endured in life and what they had to do, well to get through life. The book was real as it could get with characters and emotions, and life being itself. This was a wild ride, one that I would surely ride again!

What got me truly with those heart strings of mine, was not the romance of a relationship with a girl working out for Jared, but with his own father. I truly felt the emotions of how he cared for him and wanted to be a good and good for his father type of son. You could tell at first glance that under some blankets issues were there, be it with Jared or his father. I really enjoyed their side of the story, getting all those emotions and feels, I learned things about Jared I did not expect to, and it really made me want to reach out and hug him truly! I loved how much Jared truly loved his father and respected him despite his life as a rock star, I did not expect that, but it was wonderful and full of heart, loved that!

Madison was his father’s nurse. Though she was a nurse providing care. I could sense she felt the same and cared for him on a friend level rater more than just patient and nurse type of level. I found the chemistry with Madison and Jared wonderful as well. It was very convincing and you knew the passion was there the more time they spent together, though you knew bot were reluctant to allow either of themselves to feel anything for one another, despite what ever excuse that may be. This is what I loved about this book, it was not your traditional guy meets girl, fall in love with a dash of issues. There was so much to this story that was full of heart and emotion! It is a rare read, and a delightful/powerful one!

This book as I have said was an emotional ride for me, some feels were nice and cute, others were tears flowing down my face, especially with Jared and his father, and others were just feeling of, well hope. I enjoyed this book and all sides/aspects that it brought on respectively. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend this must read novel to everyone that comes across it! Loved this amazing book!

A five-star read that will embrace you and make you feel complete. This is number three in the Thrill of the Chase series and its like the cherry on the top of an ice-cream Sunday, it just makes the whole thing so much better. Jared broke my heart, his passion for music and his farther were just sublime and showed on the page, you could feel his emotions pouring out. Everything he has been through, just made sense at every point of the story, he stays true to his promise and broke me. Cookie well cookie is a sweet and strong as the food her nickname is after, strong like a biscotti, but sweet like a chocolate chip. Madison and the sense of love for those in her care, showed what a difference a good care giver can bring to peoples lives. It was odd as I was having a total am I on the right path moment and reading about Madison and her passion, re-ignited mine, showing me why my role is so important. This author is one of those that makes you stop and think when you see their name on a novel, they make you want to drop everything to start reading.

Kissing Darkness (Dark Spell Series Book 5) by Isra Sravenheart. This book was a sit down and hold on to your hat kinda read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. It is book 5 in the Dark Spell series but even though I haven’t read the previous books I caught on pretty quick. Its about Warlocks and Witches. Isra is a witch and she’s going to school for Warlocks and Witches. Isra was once friends with Everilda but something happened and Everilda lost all her powers and now she’s set on revenge. Astrid is a raven that is keeping a look out for Isra. There is also James who are planning on taking Isra down. Samuel has his work cut out for him to bring her to the Light. This is a story of Dark vs. Light and it keeps you guessing which way Isra is going to go. If you are craving a read that includes, romance, mystery and magic this is the read for you!

This is a tremendous book! The emotions you feel while reading it. Yes, Jared is a rock star but he is also a son looking out for his father. What a beautiful and well-written story. You have the challenges with romance between him and his father’s nurse. There are also the feelings as he comes to terms with his father’s aging. I can find my myself relating to the characters and how they are feeling with the issues they are dealing with. This book is original, romantic and still one-of-a-kind. The plot was amazing because it flowed so smoothly back and forth from the rock band to his dealings with the nurse and the nursing home. Little Shay was my absolute favorite. The heartstrings get tugged and you just can’t help but love this story. Give it a shot. I highly recommend. It would get more than a 5 if I could give it.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a rockstar romance and is part of A Thrill Of The Chase series. I loved the author attention to detail and how the characters are written in a way that makes them relatable. Both of the main characters are strong determined people who have their own minds and plans. The story is fast paced and has you hooked from the beginning.

Jared is a member of the band. The band is his whole life. The only other thing more important to him that his band is his dad.
With his dad in care Jared struggles with worry about whether his father is getting the best care. When the person who is supposed to following his instructions doesn’t do that Jared is looking to get rid of her.
The interactions between Jared and Madison especially at the beginning are full of angst as they both want the same thing. Jared wants his dad looked after and Madison wants to care for him the best she can.
It is important for Jared to honour a promise he made and that is his main focus, but when he meets Madison things change. Will they be able to work together to achieve something they both want?
As their relationship grows you are taken on a ride that will leave you in tears from both heartbreak and happiness. I was completely taken away with this story and the author’s writing really captives you and drags you into their lives.
