I Love You Today (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 2) by Julie Navickas – Review by Lisa Helmick

I Love You Today (The Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 2)I Love You Today by Julie Navickas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This one took a bit fir me to get into. I read book one and felt it would take Austin a while to get over Mavis. So I was surprised in here how over the course of a few week/month he was mostly over her. He had previously spent ten yrs of his life…yes 10 pining and wanting Mavis. That is the one thing that bothered me about this story. I wish time was moved forward and Casey/Austin met then met again to make it more believable.

Otherwise the story is ok. I enjoyed seeing the previous characters and where they are now in their relationships. Casey is an adorable girl who lives in reality but lets her dreams come true too. Austin is a top notch lawyer with no plans to forget Mavis until he meets Casey. She changes his everything.

5 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a fun contemporary romance read that I so enjoyed and I already highly recommend this book!

Tenley and Teagan….Teagan and Tenley…..can I saw these too were truly a match and the banter back and forth….oh my goodness. Tenley is a sharpshooter, pod cast for giving advise on “practical” relationships and really does not believe in love. Teagan is classified as the “love guru” and truly believe is love so whole hardheartedly….challenges Tenley to spend just one week at a beautiful Hawaiian resort of Kamana Wanalaya….the catch..its couples week..and Tenley only finds out upon arrival….and then getting with other couples at a dinner table…oh my gosh!! The fun, angst, banter…and that is just getting started.

I loved this story so much. It has fantastic characters and their development over the storyline, the hot sizzle between Teagan and Tenley and just overall fun. This author is new to me and I so excited to see what I can read next from this talented author!!

I could not put this book down! To the heroine, it must have seemed as though she had traveled back in time when she unwittingly stumbled across a group of natives who not only live off the grid, they have never heard of the grid! The earnest protagonist finds herself a captive of the group. She must contend with tribal lore and tradition in order to find her way back to her own home. Along the way, will she forge a love for the ages with one of the tribesmen?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My six year old and I recently read Amaleigha and the Big Idea for bedtime and she really enjoyed the story. She was anxious to see what the “big idea” was. As a grown adult reading the story, I loved the family relationships and the support, pride and enthusiasm shown throughout. This was a great children’s book with a good message to readers and fun illustrations. I’ll keep an eye out for more from this author!

I absolutely adored this story and finished it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down! I loved that our female protagonist Tenley is the practical one in regards to love and Teagan our male protagonist is the Love Guru, who advocates for love. My favorite part of this story is that while also being hilarious, it is such a sweet tale. I loved the characters growth and development. I also enjoyed that we got to see view points from not only our main characters, but from the other characters in the story. I haven’t read the author’s other works, but I definitely am going to have to, so I can get to know the secondary characters better! This is definitely a fantastic book for lovers of romantic comedies.

I didn’t know what to expect from this book, but I thought it sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot. The author is a historian, so the historical aspects are done well. Unfortunately, I had difficulty sticking with the book, as the story felt like it was dragging in some places. I found myself wanting to skim through to get to the more intriguing parts.
This book was not a great fit for me, but if you are a fan of historical mysteries, this will likely be a must-read to put on your TBR.

I Love You Today (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 2) by Julie Navickas – Review by Kerry Carr

I Love You Today (The Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 2)I Love You Today by Julie Navickas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book of The Trading Heartbeats Series. This book can be read as a standalone but I personally recommend you read the books in order to get a fuller understand of where and why we find Austin and Casey on the position we do. The author does a fantastic job of bring the characters to life and the writing is so emotive that as a reader you feel every tear, heartache, sorrow, discomfort and eventually happiness and love.

Austin is still trying to get over the love of his life Marvis choosing his brother over him. Now alone and heartbroken he knows that being around Mavis won’t help him move on. So when the chance of a job away from home comes up he jumps at the chance and when Casey, Marvis best friend offers for him to stay with her it made the move even more easier.

The sparks and attraction between Casey and Austin are instant however both of them are wary of their growing feelings for one another. So this romance isnt straight forwards Austin doesn’t know if he will ever get over Mavis and Casey needs to be sure if Austins feelings for her are real and not just a rebound to the heartache of losing Mavis.
When a further complication gets thrown into the mix Austin has a decision to make which will make or break this growing romance.

The way the couple compliment each other is beautiful. Each picks the other person up and makes them shine. They compliment each other in a way only people in love can. The author’s portrayal of that in this story is beautiful and I can’t wait to read more.

Reckless Heart (Second Chance Romance Series Book 2) by Jane Suen – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Reckless Heart (Second Chance Romance #2)Reckless Heart by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brad and Mary were friends of the same group growing up until Mary embarrassed him and broke his heart. 10 years later he still holds that grudge. Reading the book, I was like ok it’s 10 years later…get over it!!! To say Brad annoyed me throughout the book is an understatement but oh well. When Brad shows up back in his hometown for a wedding, one friend arranges him and Mary to be at the same diner at the same time and then she runs out leaving them to have breakfast together.
They end up spending some time together even running into Mary’s ex who she ended up breaking Brads heart over. Will Brad be able to get over it and forgive Mary or will they just spend some time together as friends before Brad goes back to his life of making tiny houses? I guess I thought the book was well written. I have loved other books by this author.

Reckless Heart (Second Chance Romance Series Book 2) by Jane Suen – Review by Karyn Taylor

Reckless Heart (Second Chance Romance #2)Reckless Heart by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really heartwarming sweet, second chance romance story. I had read the first book which I really enjoyed, so was happy to read the next book in the series.
As with the first book, I would have liked the book to be longer as i felt it came to quite an abrupt end. There was so much more scope to add to the story and at only 150 pages it felt more like a novella.

In saying that I really did enjoy Brad and Mary’s story. Both are great characters and I could easily relate to them. Both had crushes on the other as teenagers but were to shy to do anything about it. In fact Mary broke Brad’s heart when she ended up in a long term relationship with his best friend, who she has recently broke up with this. This time Brad is determined to get the girl.
The story is well written and flows well with enough action to keep you entertained and gripped by the story. I really would have liked to have read more about Brad and Mary.

Definitely recommend, especially if you want a quick read.

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising, #2)The Daredevil by Nadia Han
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love the strong heroine, Michelle who has made it on her own despite everything. Pair that with Royce, a sexy, nerdy, adventure seeker and you have one amazing story. This is a fake dating story, but that doesn’t last long as they start to break down each other’s walls and help heal each other’s hearts and past.

This is the second book in this amazing series and I must admit I can’t wait to read the next one. I love Nadia Han’s writing style and the way she makes her characters come alive, making me feel like I’m right there with them.
You should definitely check out this series if you like strong characters, great character building, and feeling like you are in the story.

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising Book 2) by Nadia Han – Review by Beverly Finnie

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising, #2)The Daredevil by Nadia Han
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author continues to impress me with The WaterFyre Rising Series. I enjoyed The Daredevil more than book 1. And I can’t wait for it to continue, knowing there’s 5 guys who have been friends and creating a video game since they were teens. The best part is so far both books work extremely well as standalone novels, but why after reading one would you jot want to read the others?
Book 2 is a friends to lovers romance. Royce and Michelle are part of the same group of friends. Royce being one of the guys and Michelle being really good friends with Audri(Remi’s girl and Grayson’s sister) brought her into the group.
Michelle is continuously fighting the demands of her past. Eating disorders and body dysmorphia that she developed as a child growing up in the pageant world, where everyone has to be perfect. These things about her are not accepted easily in past relationships, she’s viewed as tainted. It wasn’t till some guy saved her life that she decided to fight back against her demons.
Royce doesn’t believe in love. In his eyes all it leads to is broken hearts and abandonment. Since that’s the life he lived. His dad left and his mom suffered, despite his aunt showing him all the love in the world. It wasn’t till he saved a girl’s life on his property that he decided to change his path and just keep a distance.
These two are broken souls and the author does a phenomenal job showing the growth and healing they experience. These two characters were written to need each other, more than they realize. And it turned out beautifully.

Freedom Rings (The Circle Book #3) by Brenda Hardwick – Review by Angela Hayes

Freedom Rings: Book Three of The CircleFreedom Rings: Book Three of The Circle by Brenda Hardwick
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Freedom Rings is the third, and final, book in The Circle Trilogy by Brenda Hardwick. This book follows on from the developments in the previous books, so my advice would be that if you have yet to read the other books, to do so before starting on this one, as there is important backstory, character details, and other pertinent information that you should have on board to prevent any confusion- and enhance your reading experience of this book, and series as a whole.
This is a bit of a supernatural thriller, with a dream-walker mc, fantasy, interesting paranormal elements, magic, danger, drama, agendas, fear, self-doubt, murder, a sadistic villain, good vs evil, bigotry, intrigue, mystery, overcoming obstacles, and more.
Soraya will be tested like never before. Secrets will be revealed, friendships and loyalties broken, and lives will be put on the line. What happens makes for an intriguing read.
I wonder what Ms. Hardwick has in store for us next?
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Brenda Hardwick!

This is the fourth installment to this series and I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to discover this author. This enemies to lovers story is full of action, drama, mystery, chemistry and so much more that I simply couldn’t put it down. While I haven’t read the previous three books in this series I will definitely be going back and reading them in order. That being said you can read them each as a stand-alone but if you love them as much as I did you’ll want to binge the entire series in a weekend.

Freedom Rings (The Circle Book 3) by Brenda Hardwick – Review by Jenni Bishop

Freedom Rings: Book Three of The CircleFreedom Rings: Book Three of The Circle by Brenda Hardwick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Freedom Rings by Brenda Hardwick sees a continuation of Soraya’s story, but it is also the last book in the Trilogy. Brenda writes stories that are unique which makes them refreshing reads.
Using her newfound powers, knowledge Soraya hopes for a better future. A future that is stronger and able to withstand the enemy. For without a united front all could be lost. Unfortunately, others believe they must be destroyed for them to unleash something that will change who you are.
It is fast paced and has everything to hold you drawn to the story. With evil vs good, suspicion and hatred, desperation and lies, ambition and power. Where friends become foes and secrets are revealed. Where sacrifice and hope will be tested. Where the suspense is palpable.
I like that we see much more into a person’s character and who they truly are as the story is told in multiple POV’s which is my preferred way of having a story told.

Well written book combining Urban Fantasy with Norse Mythology. The author wrote in such a way to make it easy for the reader to understand the Norse Mythology side. National Parks: An Angsty Second Chance Multicultural Romance by Laikyn Meng – Review By La Toya Lewis

National Parks is a beautifully written story about a couple that has a second chance at love. Phoebe and Enzo are a couple that loves each other deeply but is not ready for the love that they truly desire. The story takes you all over from Montana to Japan. You get to see this couple fall in love in these beautiful places. There is a lot of angst. There are also the themes of self-love and friendship, which I absolutely love. It is hard to read about this couple that loves each other so much going through so much heartache. I was delighted to see Phoebe and Enzo get their happy ending! There are strong themes in this book dealing with suicide, but if you enjoy angst and happily ever afters, you need to read this book.

Royce is a Billionaire, business man and innovator who is interested in the power of Volcano’s. While in Iceland he meets a woman who at first infuriates him but as they spend more time together he starts to see the attraction to this powerful woman.

Michelle is a travel blogger and when her travel’s take her to Iceland she did not expect to met Royce in the middle of the trip. The privilege billionaire who thinks he is god but as she gets to know the real person see feels the chemistry building but can her past be put back there or will all the insecurities come through.

This is the second book in the WaterFyre series and I loved the first book and this one does not disappoint at all. I loved the way the relationship started rocky but as you read through the book you slow start to see the characters inside and the chemistry which works its way through to shine at the end.

I loved the free spirit nature of Michelle’s character and that she was could be herself with no repercussions and able to showed a brilliant side to her. Royce’s character was full of charm, but I loved that he was so clever but so clueless to the attraction was a redeeming quality.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this great series and the see who the next billionaire will be.

If you’re looking for a book that has a little bit of everything, then this is the book for you! The storyline contains action, romance, hope, and more. This book is the third installment of the series and even though I didn’t read the first two, I didn’t feel like I couldn’t understand and follow the plot. This was a great tale into a gentleman’s life named, Gary Hollins and what he endured in a previous life and what brought him to Australia. The descriptions in this book made me feel like I was included in the book. I had no problem going back and forth between current times and the past and I feel the character of Debbie was also very well developed. Descriptions such as sitting on the back deck, listening to Gary’s stories really helped bring the book feel like reality. I plan on going back and reading the first two books of the series and I wouldn’t be disappointed to find out there is a book four in the works.

Perfect! I hate this book, as in why am I not falling in love at a Hawaiian resort right now? Based on the synopsis I could figure that Teagan and Tinley are going to end up together, but watching them figure out their love and having fun on the island is sweet. It was nice to see Tinley come into her own, and make realizations she didn’t think she would ever see. I knew there was going to be some sort of drama, and even when I expected it, and it did come, my heart was still broken for this sweet couple. I love that they both made friends with the other couples staying at the resort and that carried over into their everyday lives after the week long vacation was over. I would be really interested to read about their love connections, especially Jacoby and Jenna, that one seems like a fun ride.

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising, #2)The Daredevil by Nadia Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Daredevil is available now in Paperback and eBook.
⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Book Review

Meet the Author: Nadia Han is a dreamer, a visionary, and a believer in karma and kindness. She lives in New England with her family and spends most of her time crafting stories. When she is not writing, she practices yoga, reads, explores nature, and eats all kinds of foods.

Reader’s Thoughts: Royce, the owner of Excursions for you endured many negative events as a child that haunted him, keeping him from loving another being. Michelle, a travel blogger, enjoys traveling the world allowing her to see the beauty in the world, making her forget the ugliness in her life.

This friends to lover romance is the second installment in the WaterFyre Rising series but can easily be read as a standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed how Han put the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride, allowing the reader to feel as if they are right there along for the ride with each character. The fake dating that quickly led to a relationship was a great addition to the story line. This one was a little slow to start for me but once it picked up I couldn’t put it down. This would not deter me from recommending The Daredevil to a friend. The mysterious twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. And the spice, OH MY! I am excited to see what installment three has in store for Han’s readers.

Favorite Quote: “I dare myself to survive – to play pretend that everything is alright.”

Caution: This book contains sexual content, profanity, violence, mentions of suicide, and eating disorders. The Daredevil is recommended for readers age 18+

Beast (Popov Bratva Book 5) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Beast (Popov Bratva #5)Beast by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is about Beast aka Adrik Volkov. He is nothing like his father who had double crossed the Russian Bratva.
Adrik was hoping for a place in the Bratva but in order to earn a spot he must fight Timofey.
Adrik was at the lowest of the low when he left home. He couldn’t stay any longer. He needed to get away, get settled and then go back and get his little brother.
He watched Annika from a far. Kept his face hidden from most. No one really knew what happened to his face. I loved his character. He had had such a rough life along with his little brother Damien but Adrik refuses to bow down to his dad and follow in his footsteps. He wants something better.
He becomes a trusted member in the Bratva after being with them for about a decade. He watched Annika grow from a weird young girl who was like an outcast, to a beautiful, young, talented woman. He knew he couldn’t get close to her because she’s a Bratva Princess and then she would see his face and run from his ugliness.
When Annika’s life is in danger, the two men she chooses to protect her at a safe house is Adrik and Timofey.
This book had some crazy suspense I didn’t see coming that’s for sure. I loved the friendships formed throughout the book. Annika was such a strong character even with her recent disability. She doesn’t back down from a challenge even when the odds are stacked against her.
Just loved this from beginning to end. The men in her family, every last one of them are amazing men. Definitely looking forward to another book from the author. Maybe Efrem will be next? Cannot wait. This was Definitely another 5 star read from this author.

Absolutely loving this series so far. I cannot wait to see what this author has in store for us with the rest of the characters. This book is about Royce and Michelle. It may be one of my favorites because finally, there’s a character with my name!!! Royce and Michelle are friends from the same group so they have seen eachother and hung out as a group before but never had any time alone until, Michelle is on her way to the place she will be staying while out of the country and the car see ice breaks down. Royce is there to the rescue and takes her to her home away from home for a few weeks. They both have had an insane attraction to eachother but Michelle is the average girl and Royce is millionaire who couldn’t possibly be interested in her.
Royce and Michelle spend plenty of time together. Getting to know one another one on one. Both have baggage and could be a recipe for disaster but they help eachother navigate things in their lives. They become close. Royce has come to Michelle’s rescue more than once during the book and he’s just the total package. Someone is after Michelle for a 20 year vendetta they have against her and they go to far. Royce will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of it. Royce also has someone out there who is looking to destroy him too. This book is like an emotional rollercoaster with so many unexpected things happening and it was great from beginning to end. Cannot wait to see what other books this author will release!
