Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti – Review by Donya Pedigo

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would deem this as a Paranormal Romance, though with its interesting realm / world building and different species it could also fit nicely in the fantasy realm of books.
EG Manetti is a new author for me, but I guarantee this will not be the last book I read from them. The character development and world / realm building were really well done which grabbed my attention and pulled me into the book’s pages.

Our heroine Sin is unique in that she can see through the glamors of people from different realms. She has turned this gift into several job opportunities, her most recent thwarting an art heist. It’s here that she meets our hero, Rad who tells her this was no ordinary heist.
Rad has power, money, knowledge, and unfortunately danger in his life, so he thinks the beautiful Sin could be just the stress relief good time he needs. It isn’t til later that he realizes the total control he thought he has in his area isn’t all it’s supposed to be, in part due to Sin herself.

Without giving too much away I’ll say this is a really intriguing read that includes tons such as: romance, adventure, different realms, unique characters, mysteries along with suspense, and of course magic just to name a few. There were definitely a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which is always pleasant to have in a book. Also did I mention the chemistry and sizzle between the main characters? I really can’t wait to read more about Rad and Sin.

Holy smokes! Pun slightly intended. I mean, the title should have been indication enough that this book would be, in slang terms that match my GenZ self- absolutely FIRE. It’s an absolute perfect mix of my favorite genre and one of my other favorite genres- Modern fantasy mixed with a great mystery. It’s almost like Shadowhunters, but more adult. It’s a fantastic read, a bit of a longer book, but it is amazing. I’ll for sure be looking forward to the rest of the series and I’ll be on the watch for more of her books. I can’t recommend this to enough people!! Run, don’t walk to get this book!

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sin Marston is a young human woman with unusual talents, she can see through an individuals glamour and this is one of the things the Hidden use to keep their identities hidden from humans, this talent of Sin’s is especially helpful in the security industry and that is why Sin is known as one of the best in the business, her latest case is the theft of artefacts from an exhibition which is moving around the USA and she is determined to find the culprit here in Boston. Radzik Cray is a fire elemental who has travelled the realms of the Hidden, as well as Terra where the humans live, he is a powerful and high ranking Hidden with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders as a Warden of the Elder Council, one of which is controlling what passes through the veil, a transitory passage between Terra and the Hidden realms and this is not as easy as it sounds.

Ever since the veil treaty came into force in 2010, magical visitors had to gain permission to travel between the realms, but there are some who don’t get that and that is where the Human Protection Society come into play, they enforce the rules around Terrran and non Terran interactions and the repercussions of breaking these rules. This is where Sin comes in as she can use her talents and expertise in security and business to aid in the understanding and sometimes enforcement of these visitors so that they can have a positive experience, but also to warn them of what could happen if this is not the case.

As usual, Sin is successful in foiling the heist and captures the Hidden and takes them to the authorities, however, when she meets Radzik and finds out why the heists were happening, it puts a new spin on what she thought she knew and this includes him, there is a definite attraction between the two and her curiosity gets the better of her, so she learns even more about the Hidden world and the fire elemental who heats her blood up as well. As they grow closer, Radzik realises that his job is not as in control as he thought and that he is finding that things are getting past his attention which shouldn’t be, but why is it happening and how does Sin tie into it all? This is a fantasy adventure full of magic, beings from other realms and a bit of romance to keep it interesting as danger lies around every corner and thing are not as they seem, in this story which will keep you looking for all the hidden excitement throughout.

5 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was to the synopsis of the book and the beautiful cover…and I can say….Wow…..Fantastic book!!

Love a strong female character, Sin is human and has a gift…freelancing her work and stopping a art thief…but this thief ….not what it seems. When Sin kicks back one night she meets Radzik “Rad”… and wow the flames and connection totally off the charts! Rad…come to find out is a Fire Demon…and wow..finds out what Sin does and that she was responsible for stopping the art thief…and is in need of help. Will Rad and Sin stop goods coming into a hidden world…definitely read and find out!!

Off the charts action, word building, magic, danger, love the realms and the hot sizzle between Rad and Sin!! This author is new to me and I can say I cannot wait until Book 2 and would love to explore more from what this author has to offer!! I felt while I was reading I was taken to a different world….So Well Done!!!

Sin Marston has a gift, she can see past the glamour of the Hidden. Hidden are a diverse group of otherworld creatures that can move between the veil that separates realms. Previously a member of the task force in charge of dealing with Hidden, Sin has since struck out on her own doing contract work for both sides. Life is pretty simple until she meets Rad Cray, a fire elemental. Sin and Rad get involved in trying to stop an illegal magic harvesting ring. This was a great weekend read, lots of action and great characters.

Strong start to a new series
What a world! Brilliant characters, strong storyline and action. This had me glued from start to finish. The author brings a solid fantasy romance excellently balancing all the best aspects – alpha male, strong female, realms, paranormals, magic, romance and even sexy times. Eagerly awaiting book 2 – this is highly recommended!

This authors writing is worthy of a chef’s kiss. Honestly, I loved the descriptive nature of the writing, the way that I automatically stepped into the role of Sin and really hone her skills as my own so that I could become one with the story and the characters in which she interacts with. From what she does and who she becomes as needed, it’s hard not to fall in love with her character and the feelings and emotions that whirl around. Let’s go, Rad! These two just sizzle and honestly, one of the most chemistry filled connections I’ve read in the last while. I absolutely adored how they both really wanted to go for the gold and protect themselves and their world(s)

Overall, certainly not a novel I would want to miss out on, and likely will reread as more novels in the series are released to get the best overall of their worlds and characters and everything fantastic that this author brought to life. Please don’t dismiss this as another romantic paranormal run of the mill book. Take the time to read it and you’ll be pleased! Highly recommend.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti – Review by Jessica Stone

This is the first book in a new series from an author I’ve never personally read yet, but one I’ve heard and read, nothing but amazing things about.

Right off the bat it’s easy to tell how vividly this author pictures her stories while writing them, the depth in the world and characters she’s creating is astounding. All the characters in my opinion were complete, not leaving out much that you need to know other than a desire for more time with them each individually.

The story was terrific, or female lead is a strong, witty, independent(without being to head strong), woman with a career and a wonderful moral compass. Our make lead is masculine, intelligent, loyal and a total hunk of course. Now through these two together and you have a WHOLE lot of page turning steamy goodness. It’s not often that I get invested into characters as deeply as I did with Sin and Raz, their chemistry was addictive, it was all I could hope for when I started this book, and it did NOT let me down.

Without giving away to much, Sin is a PI with a knack for seeing through glamour, which not only comes in handy with her line of work, but also the realm the live in full of magic and “other” beings hiding in plane site.
Rad is a man of many things, power that he’s honed for century, wealth a name for himself, you name it. The only thing he wants now is Sin, because to him she’s just that, pure Sin. Except there’s a whole lot of unexpected luggage that comes with what he thought would be a simple thing between him and her.

Anywayssss, if you want to know more you’re going to have to read this brilliant story, I promise you won’t regret it. You may just fall as deeply in love with the characters as I did. I Can’t wait for the next installment!!

Another one on the ‘best stories I’ve read’ list! This is the first book I’ve read from this author and was drawn in by promises of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. The world-building and immediate drop into the main character’s shoes grabbed my attention from the beginning and had me on the edge of my seat throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and am looking forward to what comes next! This book has romance, magic, adventure, thrills, a few spicy bits, and a lot of paranormal!

Sin is able to see through glamour, which is rare for a human. Due to her ability, she finds herself in some pretty crazy situations.

Rad is an ancient who has worked to build his power.

When Sin and Rad meet, sparks fly, and a new kind of flame is ignited between them.

Any more and I would be giving away too much of the story, so I strongly suggest having a read!

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was my first time reading anything by EG Manetti, and this book is their first time writing fantasy! While the author’s scifi background is definitely noticeable, they did great creating a fantasy story. I appreciate the more thorough descriptions of the characters’ thought processes , though I would have liked for them to have more personality. The romance between Sin & Rad is a little awkward in the beginning because they don’t really flirt or talk about anything other than work. There are a few flirty moments & a few spicy moments farther in that are great, I just would have liked more of them to really feel the love & buildup. For me it ended up being more of an acceptance that they’re together than a ship. They’re still cute! Sin is great on her own & Rad is great on his own. One of the villains, Aisha, is fantastic & I would have been happy with her being the main one. She was very well written. The main villain didn’t really appear long enough to feel much about them, but they were enough of a jerk to fit. The storyline is interesting & enjoyable with a couple twists that definitely made things better. There were a lot of pop culture references, which was nice, & a few were funny rather than just informational. I also appreciated that there’s enough of a set up for a 2nd book to be interested in reading that one too, without having a cliffhanger. All in all, this was a pretty good book & I would read the rest of the series as well as other work by EG Manetti.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1) by E.G. Manetti

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Elemental Fire is the first book in The Hidden Realms Series. The book was such a fascinating story. Fairy tales come to life in this book.

Rad is a fire elemental and interested in Sin. Being an Enforcer is hard work, but worth it in the end. Sin helps him in a crisis and he can’t help but repay her. He is intrigued by her the more he gets to know her. The quote I chose for Rad is: “Sin, you fascinate me. Beguile me. But that is not why. You trusted us over your own kind. On nothing but our word. Within the hidden realms, we owe you an act of similar courage or trust. The monetary reward must equate to the value of the debt.”

Sin is a human who can see the Hidden for who they truly are. She is a PI which is how she meets an Imp she later helps break out of jail. She finds Rad interesting and can’t seem to keep him off her mind. The quote I chose for Sin is: “Whoever is sourcing the dark-b knows it’s illegal beyond the veil. Otherwise, they’d be working with you or another warden. If they are caught, under the treaty, they get handed over to the Elders’Council for trial and judgment. The few criminals who have returned after the Elders’Council justice, aged decades in days. I would want a lot more than a fat bank account to risk a big piece of my life.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

Elemental Fire is the first book in the Hidden Realms series. It’s an exciting fantasy romance with an urban setting and plenty of twists to keep you turning the pages.
A treaty between humans and the Hidden was supposed to keep everyone safe and happy. But of course that’s not always the case. There are humans who see the Hidden as a threat and discriminate against them. There are Hidden who use their glamours to do more than simply blend in with the crowd. This is where Sin comes in – she can see through glamours and spot different magical creatures whether or not they want to be seen. She offers her services to both sides, helping where she can (especially if the pay is good!).
There is some beautiful world building in this book, which encourages readers to see the magic in everything! And the story is fantastic, with the romance not overwhelming the action and mystery.
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasies looking for something full of romance and adventure.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by E.G. Manetti, and I could not imagine a better introduction to this authors work. Detective Sin Marston is a rare human that can see through the glamour of creatures from the Hidden Realm. After a strict childhood Sin found her way in the world making it on her own without anyone’s help, and now running her own business.
We first meet Sin on a job to catch an art thief, several museums in the Eastern United States have been targeted and Hidden Realm relics have been taken. Quickly she catches the culprit an imp that we later learn is named Mlith. Sin’s world is flipped upside down when she learns that the original job is not what she thought it was. Going to her ex-college roommates party she meets Serena’s handsome neighbor Rad Cray. A fire elemental that she learns is the Warden of the Eastern United States. The hidden realms’ elders organized for the thefts of the artifacts that were originally stolen from the hidden realm. The powers that the relics can give the user are worth the “felonies” committed to get them back. Within 48 hours Sin has opened her heart to Rad, he has somehow melted through all her walls and defenses making her want to tell him everything. After a small blood tasting, she tasted a drop of his and he a drop of hers, Rad is ready to claim her and always have her nearby. Sin being human desires more than a one-night stand and so Rad agrees to court her and earn her.
Will Sin discover all the hidden realm’s secrets? Can she trust Rad with her darkest secrets and fears? Can they find a way to be happy while balancing the hidden realm and the Terra? The world the author creates builds the pictures in your mind word for word. The characters coming to life off the pages making you hungry for more details. The sudden twists and desires that Sin and Rad have being so close and then pulled away by their occupations keeps them on their toes and craving the next meeting. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Wow! This story blew me away right from the start and I wasn’t able to put it down until I had finished the entire book. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started the book, but it definitely had so many elements placed in the story, but it didn’t feel overwhelming or rushed at all. I loved Sin and Rad’s relationship and how it progresses throughout the story. They both are willing to trust the other and we get to see the awesome things they accomplish when they work together. We have a steamy romance, nonstop action, intrigue, secrets, family drama, and fantasy all weaved together in a story that you won’t be able to put down! I love that this was book one and it did an amazing job of explaining the worlds and setting up future adventures for our characters. I am so excited to read the next book!

LOVED this book! This is my first read by this author and it was ADDICTING. As soon as I started I refused to put it down! I loved how commonplace magical folk are- and the idea of glamor to disguise their true appearance. The mcs, Sin (what a great name) and Rad (adorable with his contractions), were so much fun to read- their chemistry was off the charts and I loved their adventures. I’m a big fan of reading books with the MCs point of view and even more so when it switched between the two of them. I’m so excited I found a new author to read in a genre I love! Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sin is a human who works as a freelancer. She does a bit of everything from stopping an art thief to rescuing a kidnapped child. She works for both humans and supernatural beings called the Hidden. After what seemed like an open shut case, she meets a man named Rad. Being able to see through glamour, Sin realizes that Rad is not human but a fire demon of some sort. She finds out from him that her art thief case isn’t so black and white like she first thought. The thief was trying to recover items that actually belonged to the Hidden.

Rad is a warden for the Hidden, but is really intrigued by Sin. He doesn’t normally start anything romantic with humans but they can’t help that the chemistry between them is strong. He introduces her to the supernatural world and realizes that he willingly put her in danger. Together the couple try to stop smuggled goods from entering the Hidden world. Let’s not forget the steamy down time they have together too.

At first, the book starts off like any other Fae book but then takes a very interesting turn. It was very intriguing and I found myself falling in love with both Sin and Rad. This book is a must!

This was a whirlwind romance with a compelling story!!! Immersive. Steamy. Action Oriented. It definitely gave me Maas-esque vibes! I really loved the world-building and the antagonization of the human realm and the Hidden realms. It created a realistic story about how bureaucratic issues make certain actions slower than they wish they could be dealt with. Rad’s and Sin’s story is a little fast in the beginning but it all makes sense when you get to the end! My favorite female characters are always the strong ones and Sin is no different! She doesn’t care if the job is tough and gritty it would look almost pleasurable to some of the things that she has dealt with in her small town in Massachusetts. She is an independent woman that doesn’t need help BUT isn’t hesitant to ask for it when it is needed. She has this amazing ability that allows her to see through glamour and see the world of the Hidden creatures as they really are. This is what spurred her curiosity about Rad and his connection to her friend. The rest is the journey you have to discover for yourself! This was my first novel by this author and I’m looking forward to delving into her other novels!!!!

Excellent, excellent book. I loved every part of this book, especially the female main character, Sin. Elemental Fire is the first book in the Hidden Realms series by E.G. Manetti. This checks all of the boxes for me, paranormal romance, fantasy, a strong female main character, investigations, magic, adventure, danger, and more mythical creatures (which some I ended up looking up, and goodness the author did AMAZING describing them because the google images I looked up was exactly what I envisioned when reading.). I was hooked right from the beginning, and I could not put it down, ended up reading it in one sitting. The character develop was A+++, the setting was also painted magnifically, both for the Hidden Realm and Terra. I loved the story of Sin, the way she was raised, her powers of being able to see through glamour, her career choices, her previous men choices, literally loved everything about this woman. I also, thoroughly loved Rad, and even Moreso- loved Rad and Sin together! The chemistry between the two was so intense and electrifying. There is plenty of action and danger, as well as some mystery in addition to the relationship of Rad and Sin. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL BOOK 2 is RELEASED! Will definitely recommend to everyone I know!

You know when you see a book pop up on social media that immediately grabs your attention, so you click on it to find out more- and the blurb ticks all your boxes and then some- but it’s from an author you are unfamiliar with, but you decide that doesn’t matter because you absolutely need to read it anyway?? Well, that’s what it was like for me, stumbling over this book, and then excitedly snatching up a copy to read because the promise held in the synopsis hinted at great things. And I am so glad that I did, because I LOVED this book so hard, and it really sets the bar quite high, especially since this is the beginning of a series with more riveting instalments to come. #colourmeexcited #newaddiction #shehadmeatfireelemental #unputdownable

Elemental Fire is the first book in The Hidden Realms series by E.G. Manetti, who proved to be quite a skilled storyteller. I was hooked right from the beginning and ended up devouring the book in one sitting because I couldn’t, and wouldn’t, put it down. I became completely lost in the story, in the best possible way….
This is a superb paranormal romance with different realms, magic, danger, action, adventure, mystery, suspense, intrigue, tension, chemistry, sizzle, agendas, twists, surprising developments, numerous mythical beings, and so much more.
Ms. Manetti has masterfully woven a complex and vividly detailed world in which to set her story. As well as crafting wonderfully unique characters with their own fully developed personalities, who helped to bring her story to life. I loved Sin and Rad- they were just to perfect, and absolutely captivating. I was invested in them and their story right from their introduction, needing to know every minute detail. Their chemistry was electrifying, steaming up the screen of my Kindle, and sizzling the edges. The sparks were flying right from the get-go, and it didn’t take long for those hot embers to spark into white hot flames. But the sizzle didn’t come at the expense of the storyline, because there was plenty of action, danger, and intrigue to make this book something you can really sink your teeth into.
I have to confess that I now have a new addiction, but it’s one I am only too happy to feed. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. for Book #2 to release!!! But, in the meantime I have discovered that Ms. Manetti has quite a few other books that I can devour- so I am off to explore ‘The Twelve Systems Chronicles’ while I wait for the next instalment of this series to release.
I highly recommend “Elemental Fire”!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, E.G. Manetti!

I really enjoyed Elemental Fire. The author put together a wonderful story from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s rare that I read an elemental supernatural book, and some have even been hit or miss. This one definitely hit the mark! I even liked the main characters’ names. Unique and different.
Sin and Rad what a pair.
Sin a human who can see through the veil.
Rad a warden of the veil, a fire elemental also known as the flame lord.
These two are instantly attracted and intrigued by each other. Besides their attraction, they team up together to achieve a common goal. To stop the HPS from capturing, torturing, and killing the hidden. I don’t think Rad expected the asset that Sin would become, but he knew he had to claim her to protect her. Yet that didn’t prevent Lord Vatap from sending Sin on a mission that could’ve killed her. Also one she had to keep from Rad.
How does Rad feel when he finds out?
What will Sin do when she finds out Rad claimed her?
Do they figure out who was behind the kidnapping of Ciaran?
The author wrote a story that keeps you turning pages. Makes you want to know more. It’s not just a sci/fi fantasy but also a romance. So you get a little of everything. Makes me want to read more from this author. Also makes me want to look into more books with elementals as the supernatural being. For you, I suggest you read this one!

I found another author to add to my favourites list. This is the first book that I have read from this author and it surpassed my expectations. I’m so happy that I found it. There was action, danger, adventure and romance. There was the added mystery of trying to slice a crime as well. There was magic and plenty of supernatural beings. They were not your run of the mill werewolves and vampires variety either which made it all the more interesting. I love that the author unfolded the story slowly. It constantly held my attention wanting to know more. I adored Sin and Rad together. Their chemistry was tangible and their connection was real. I loved Sin! She was down to earth, smart and sassy. When her powers awakened, she handled it well. Her not being able to control it, made the story realistic. She is going to become a powerhouse. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book in The Hidden Realms series and from this book it has the makings of a great series. This story is full of mystery and intrigue that keeps the reader gripped. I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end.
The author does an amazing job with the world and character building. I love the fantasy element and how Sin’s talent is seeing through the masks people wear. The addition of her trying to solve an art heist was just an additional element of Suspense.
The main story for me was between Sin and Radzik. Theirs is definately a steamy romance and I loved how a strong confident man like Radzik can be made to feel not so confident in his world and literally has it rocked by Sin.
I can’t wait to see where this story will lead us and I’m looking forward to the next book already.

I loved the idea of this story. It was just hard to follow along with at times. The story deals with a lot of politics in the life of these characters. There just seemed too much for me and I struggled to care about the characters. I am not sure what the problem was but I lost interest a lot and had to keep refocusing to get this finished. There are a lot of characters. The author did a good job bringing them in slowly and giving me time to know them before introducing another.

This definitely falls into the fantasy paranormal category with a light touch on romance. We become very involved in investigations of Sin (which was cool) and watching how she works is impressive. She is smart, inquisitive and has follow through. Rad is very impressive. We learn a little more about him as the story rolls along. He is mysterious.

I liked the idea but the story does not resonate with me too much which results in an okay story. It is propelled higher by the worlds and characters this author created.
