Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti – Review by Ayla Phipps

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1)Elemental Fire by E.G. Manetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by E.G. Manetti, and I could not imagine a better introduction to this authors work. Detective Sin Marston is a rare human that can see through the glamour of creatures from the Hidden Realm. After a strict childhood Sin found her way in the world making it on her own without anyone’s help, and now running her own business.
We first meet Sin on a job to catch an art thief, several museums in the Eastern United States have been targeted and Hidden Realm relics have been taken. Quickly she catches the culprit an imp that we later learn is named Mlith. Sin’s world is flipped upside down when she learns that the original job is not what she thought it was. Going to her ex-college roommates party she meets Serena’s handsome neighbor Rad Cray. A fire elemental that she learns is the Warden of the Eastern United States. The hidden realms’ elders organized for the thefts of the artifacts that were originally stolen from the hidden realm. The powers that the relics can give the user are worth the “felonies” committed to get them back. Within 48 hours Sin has opened her heart to Rad, he has somehow melted through all her walls and defenses making her want to tell him everything. After a small blood tasting, she tasted a drop of his and he a drop of hers, Rad is ready to claim her and always have her nearby. Sin being human desires more than a one-night stand and so Rad agrees to court her and earn her.
Will Sin discover all the hidden realm’s secrets? Can she trust Rad with her darkest secrets and fears? Can they find a way to be happy while balancing the hidden realm and the Terra? The world the author creates builds the pictures in your mind word for word. The characters coming to life off the pages making you hungry for more details. The sudden twists and desires that Sin and Rad have being so close and then pulled away by their occupations keeps them on their toes and craving the next meeting. I cannot wait to see what comes next.
