I have only recently started reading dark mafia books, man have I been missing out! This series sucks you in and doesn’t let go. My heart loved this couple, Luca and Aly, and I was rooting for them the whole time. The idea of rivaling mafia families with forbidden love, takes me back to Romeo and Juliet, just with a happier ending. Aly’s father arranges a marriage that is suitable for Aly, but Luca and Aly are having none of it. Will their love start a war between the two families are be able to bring their rivalry to an end?
This was my first mafia book. It has a lot of violence in it, which isn’t really my thing. With that being said, I stayed interested til the very end and will go on to read the others in this series.
Luca and Aly fall in love at an early age and have a long, troubled history. Can they be together. They are each the prodigy of one of the biggest mafia families in Texas. What an exciting and full of adventure book this was. Starting with Luca’s first encounters as a young boy up to Aly’s marriage in adulthood, we see them go through some mighty big challenges. Facing some uptight families with guns, they are both stubborn, pig-headed and seem to have death wishes but they do get through those challenges. Well-written and smooth flowing, it was easy to stay engaged and pick your loves and hates in the supporting characters. The plot was fantastic. I love this series. You should give it a shot. Worth the read. Highly recommend.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. Luca and Ally have this burning chemistry whenever they are together. Both from rival mafia families and the cause of an upcoming war between the two. I couldn’t put the book down. I was obsessed with Luca and how he always watched Aly from afar and helped whenever she needed him. He actually wanted her and not as an arrangement or property. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
This book was a treat to read for me! I do highly love my passionate books as well as Mafia books. This one was a true engagement from the start, the spice and temptation it brought on, was more than amazing. It was a perfect blend. More like a dessert where you take one bite, and you know you want more.
Something I really enjoyed about this one, I loved the characters yes. They made the story, with out a doubt. The darkness in this book, between the events, as well as the characters really, and I mean really, made me get sucked into this gem of a novel. It was a good read, but not all lollipops and daises between the characters. There was the darkness I would say within a lot of the characters that had to be expelled out of them at different times. And to me that made the characters very relatable and real!
Also the chemistry between Aly and Luca was the spiciness I love and enjoy with all my heart. The moments they shared together, my kindle was needing a fan on it I swear. You really felt the lust and the passion between them. Knowing the darkness within each other, it did not stop the suspense of the feelings of when ever they were near. What I loved about that, was it was not just about that, there was so much more. Even though they did not want to show it to the world, it was there. Through the reading the characters development was perfectly done. I will be reading more of this series with no doubt!
I loved the writing style of this amazing author, and how they suck you in and hold you there as you live on every word, and wonder with anticipation what will happen next! A must read author and certainly a must read book! Highly recommend up Don’t pass this book up, you wouldn’t pass up dessert would you?
What happens when you are born into a world that does not want you, thinks you’re a cast off. Well, that’s me Aly the illegitimate child of one of the most powerful men in the town. No-one dares to touch me until one night I witness a stranger running away from a gunshot, but he turns and stands in front of me, although I am scared, he just captivates me. He vows to protect me even from my family.
Luca started life on the street a nobody, but one chance meeting and his life has changed forever. Now part of one of the biggest crime families in the town he is destined to become the Don when his father steps down, but one night he makes a mistake and saves a damsel in distress. Later, she captivates him, and Luca cannot give her up, the only problem she is the daughter of there enemy and will he be able to have his girl and keep the peace.
This story is full of action from the first page, seeing Luca’s start in life till now you understand why there is such rivalry with the Rossi’s and Mancini’s. Luca is captivated with Aly but he see’s away to get back at Mancini with making his daughter fall in love with him and this will be the ultimate betrayal. Although when Aly’s brother Jonny and the next in line for the Mancini line is killed, Aly’s father must find away to keep her the next in line to takeover the family but of course this goes wrong.
I love the character of Aly, she is full of sass and determination to become the woman she wants to be, within the mafia world she has seen how they have treated her mother and is determined that is not going to happen to her. Although when Luca comes into the picture, she is fascinated by him although at first, they are frenemies she then starts having feeling towards him and eventually they both can’t hide their true feelings anymore.
The characters in this story are so well developed and rich, the story is powerful but shows that there is a soft side to rugged men and that love does win out in the end. I can’t wait to read more books in this series and by this author.

This action packed and tension filled tale is full of twists and turns. It is dark, raw, and gritty, intense, and entertaining, and full of emotions. It is a little steamy, with chemistry, a lot of angst and plenty of suspense. He is addicted, obsessed, he is dangerous, deceptive, full of lies and secrets and oh so sinful. Their families are mortal enemies, and he takes what he wants, this time though in doing so there will be an all-out war. Falling for the enemy is nothing short of death, pain, and misery but in the end, he must make her his. No one else can have her. He makes her feel safe, secure. He is all consuming.
I love curling up to a great mafia, dark romance and this was a perfect read. Right from the beginning I was entranced with the dual POV of Aly and Luca. Two rival mafia families and forbidden chemistry make this story sizzle. Luca is intriguing, protective, alpha and part of the Rossi family. Aly is smart and strong and part of the Mancini family. When they meet, you can just feel Luca’s presence in protecting Aly, even though she is from a rival mafia family. Things turn when Aly has an arranged marriage by her father and Luca was not having none of that to the point the families were about to have a war over it. I loved the action, twists, turns and steamy chemistry between Luca and Aly!
This story finds Luca and Aly on opposite sides of the Mafia. Aly the “secret” daughter that no one acknowledges but yet they all protect and Luca, the orphan who was adopted into the Mafia and made a son. Luca vows to always protect Aly and he keeps his word up to the day that he takes her for his own. WONDERFUL character building, I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the series. New to me author but she has drawn into her world with this first book in the series.
This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is the first book in this new series for her and I look forward to reading more. This is a great start to the series. It is dark in spots and the author’s writing style brings the story to life. I was pulled into the story by the characters and kept engaging to the end. The twists and turns made the story not only pop but also hard to put down. This is a mafia romance story where the characters are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. It is a fast paced story about what happens when an arranged marriage turns out to be more than what is bargained for. I enjoyed the characters’ connection and chemistry. Their growth as well as the plot growth throughout the story made the story easy to read. It is a great story that I really enjoyed and is worth the pick up. I highly recommend this book and this author.
This book was fire right from the beginning. I love a good mafia war and especially one as saucy as this! The book was engaging, well written, entertaining, and had just the perfect amount of burn. I really enjoyed it and found once I got cozy, there was no hope in putting it down! I certainly can’t wait to see what else comes from the series! Get it now! You won’t regret it!

Luca, is the son of the head of the Rossi Mafia family, is expected to learn the ropes in order to become head of the family when his father is ready to step down. Through a twist of fate, Aly, the bastard child of an opposing family, the Mancini family, catches Lucas eyes and intrigues him when they are young. Over the years this leads Luca to watch over Aly from the shadows and steps in when necessary. But, when he learns Aly has been promised to someone else, he takes action, kidnapping Aly. She is his, no one else is suppose to touch her. Luca decides as a way to keep Aly and get back at her father, the two of them will wed. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. This well written story keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what surprising twist will be next. I highly recommend reading this book, I could not put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of this series. Looking forward to more works by Emily Bowie.

I’m going to start off by saying that this is not the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly is my favourite, in fact it’s actually my favourite mafia read to date!
I completely devoured this book, I read it in record time as I couldn’t get enough of these characters, I was so captivated by the storyline that I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. The chemistry between the main characters is so unbelievably strong it could be felt through the pages, I feel like I’ve never rooted for a couple more!
This book had everything I look for in a mafia read, it was dark, detailed, action-packed, tragic, shocking, steamy and of course over the top. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next mafia read!

Sinful Vow is the first novel in the Dark Mafia Sins series by Emily Bowie. Luca Rossi is an orphan who, after a chance encounter when a prank goes wrong, becomes the heir to the Rossi mafia family. Aly is the daughter of the head of the Mancini family, the Rossi’s rival. When Luca meets Aly she is only 16, he becomes her shadow for the next few years maintaining his distance but making sure she is safe. When Aly is betrothed to someone else, Luca decides he has had enough waiting and makes his move. However, lines become blurred when what initially was a power move against a rival family becomes more. This is a fast paced steamy mafia romance with very likable characters. I really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Steamy, action-packed and gripping! This book has it all. Sinful Vow follows a “forbidden” steamy love story, but is equally so much more. It explores betrayal, trauma and emotional turmoil through the eyes of top mafia families. I loved this story from the very start, I could not put it down! Particularly, I really liked the balance between sexy and action. Additionally, I became quite invested in the characters as they were very well developed throughout the story.
There was nothing that I disliked about this story, only that I want to read more about the timeline gaps early on. Although, this doesn’t impact the plot at all. Overall, this story was perfect for me. If you are a fan of complex love stories with twists and turns along the way, then this book is for you! I cannot wait to read what comes next.

These books are outstanding! I love the twisty story which filled me with hope, shock and a What? WHAT?! responses. I enjoy how the author drags me into this world with the simply wonderful character and fast paced story. We really get a deep deep dive into Luca Rossi. How he became a boy being groomed to take over, how his secrets and loyalty helped and hindered him but mostly how his family and their love made him the man he is today. Aly is the opposite. She didn’t have the support or love of her given name. She had to learn a lot just to survive in this world. Both of these characters had a lot of growth throughout the story.
I read this fairly quickly and I am eagerly looking forward to more in this series.

This is the first book in a new Mafia series. I had high hopes for this book as I love Mafia romance books and I had previously read, and enjoyed, one by this author. I’m so glad to say that it totally lived up to my expectations and more. I absolutely loved this book. I was totally gripped to Luca and Aly’s story. The story gripped me from the very first chapter and continued to keep me gripped and entertained right to the very end. As with most mafia romance books there is a lot of violence, danger, drama and intrigue. In addition to this, it’s also a fantastic enemies to lovers story as Luca and Aly belong to opposing mafia families who have hated each other for years. I loved reading about Luca and Aly. Both are fascinating characters and I can say that the author has done a great job in creating these characters. I could have read about them for hours and hours. Luca isn’t used to women being sassy and answering him back and that’s exactly what he gets with Aly. If this first book in the series is anything to go by, then this is going to be an awesome series. Definitely recommend.

I loved this book! The story was very well written and I loved Luca and Aly’s characters. The rival between the Rossi and Mancini family was also executed beautifully. If you like dark mafia books this is definitely one for you! It also gives off the feel of star crossed lovers so it will check that mark for you as well. Just overall a very well written story and I really enjoyed it.

Luca Rossi is the heir to my family’s greatest rival within the Italian mafia. He’s cocky, ruthless and has a keen sense of when I need him the most.
When I look into his eyes, I see his hatred for what I represent. While I see another arrogant mafia man trying to control me.
On the eve of my arranged marriage, he’s the last person I expect to see. Like the thief he is, he steals me in the night, setting off a war that had been brewing for years.
Emily Bowie is from a small town in Western Canada. She has been making characters come to life through her writing since she was old enough to put her thoughts on paper. She loves her white wine cold, her heels red, and her books spicy.
She married her high school sweetheart and they have two amazing children.
When she is not writing she can be found reading a good book, making digital scrapbooks and being physically active–whether it is at the gym, going for a walk, or playing /keep up with her children.
Talk about a story! Wow! Forbidden love…angst…mafia…suspense…crime… this book has it all. I really appreciated how the author developed the characters inside the relationship with each other as well as the factors pulling them apart. If you love a good guy/bad guy romance – this one is a must read.

Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie I love a good Mob book and this one was great! Its the story of Theo Fox who is a cop and is determined to take down the largest mafia family around. Theo has a major grudge against them for killing his father so the stakes are high in this case. When Theo meets Aria Rossi things change. She is the daughter of this mob boss and when he gets in with her he thinks he’s going to be able to take them down no problem. Only problem is he likes Aria, really likes her. He is consumed with thoughts of her and wants nothing more than her. She makes him rethink what is right and what is wrong. Aria knows she is supposed to hate Theo but there is something there that she can’t help but respond to. She knows he’s out to get her family but she still likes him. Will Theo take down this family or will his feelings get in the way? Read Sinful Daughter to find out!

This is the first book I’ve read by Bowie. This book had me hanging on the edge of my seat the entire time. Theo and Aria had me falling in love.
Aria is the oldest of the girls. Not wanting to be in the family business she gets caught up in it. When Theo enters her life it’s turned upside down. The quote I chose for Aria is: “I thought it would be exciting. I envisioned saving my family, showing I can be as good at this life as them. I was petrified that I put my family’s lives in danger. I was scared I would never see you, to tell you how big of an a**hole you are—”
Theo is a cop and isn’t a dirty one. His only reason for being a good guy is to find who killed his dad. Once he finds out who it is, things change. He thought he could use Aria, but didn’t think he’d fall in love. The quote I chose for Theo is: “I know I let you down by us losing the case with Marco. But I have evidence, hard proof, that Nicoli Rossi killed my father. This evidence will put him away. This is the break we’ve been looking for.”

Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Krista Vaughan
Aria is the daughter of the mob boss and potentially the future family lawyer. Theo is maybe the only cop on the force who can’t be bought. Perfect relationship material? You wouldn’t think so, but these two can’t stay away from each other. How can they POSSIBLY make this work? I found myself rooting for the underdog in this action-packed Mafia romance. Worth the read!

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down.
Aria is a mafia princess with an attitude. She has plans to be a lawyer for the family. One night her father shares some news with her that changes everything. She decides to rebel a little and ends up going out with her friend, she ends up meeting a very hot cop, Theo.
Theo has a goal to go after Aria’s family but after meeting Aria he can’t resist her. Everytime he is near her he is drawn to her. These two have some very steamy moments, dangerous moments I might add, especially if her father were to find out.
How will this all end for them? Can they have a HEA? What will happen if their secret comes out?
Overall this was a great read. I felt like there were several stories in this book and I loved it. The author did a great job with her writing and pulled you right in. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I really loved Aria and her sassiness. You could feel their attraction coming off the pages. If you’re looking for a great mafia read 1-click and get started on this book today.

There is so much tension in this novel; from who is threatening who, to who wants to get into bed with who, in more ways than one! Aria and Theo are the perfectly wrong people for each other: she’s the daughter of a mafia boss; he’s a cop out to punish those who thought they were above the law, especially the Rossi family. Of course that’s what makes the sexual tension between Aria and Theo palpable. They just can’t seem to stay away from one another, despite the prying eyes. And Aria’s privacy and passions are truly tested when she is forced into an arranged marriage for the sake of her family. In a crime family where nothing is as it seems, who can Aria trust, with her heart and with her secrets?
3.5 stars rounded up. I wanted to enjoy this novel so much more than I did. I enjoyed the premise and the sexual tension between Aria and Theo, as well as the push and pull between the Rossi’s and Mancini’s, and Theo and the Rossi’s, however I couldn’t immerse myself in the story completely. I felt like the story was drawn out and more drama added without giving a reason or a truly viable conclusion. I also personally didn’t like the writing style used. Maybe I can come back and reread in the future and enjoy the story and all the drama more, but for now I’m left feeling underwhelmed.

I must be honest here, when I picked up this novel, I had my doubts. Even at the beginning, for the first few chapters, I didn’t feel like I was really “in it.” I felt as though I was skipping back to the beginning to recall who was who in the two Mafia families that they discuss, and it took away from some of the story. Really, I have not been interested in any Mafia oriented books, shows, or movies before, and took a chance at picking this up. Well, once I was a fair bit into Aria and Theos forbidden love story, I was NOT putting it down.
I started diving deeper into the relationships between Aria and her father, and other sisters, along with her older adopted brother, and the sort of ‘sheltered’ life she had lived up until this point. Being told what to do is not something I’ve ever been a fan off, so I could certainly relate to not only Aria, but her sister Katrina’s character as well. Arrogant, authoritative personas have been my kryptonite, so when I started to get to know Theos character a bit more throughout this novel, I must admit, I was falling for him.
Overall, I quite enjoyed that Emily Bowie’s Sinful Daughter – Mafia Romance, though wish I had of taken more time to really get to understand the inner workings of the Mafia, and what that means for all family members. I loved the twists and turns that she brings into the main plot line, and the cliffhanger ending. I will be reading the next installment, and with the whole modern day ‘Romeo and Juliet’ feel this story gives off, I have to say I’m quite excited to get to know the other family members better! Thank you, Emily, for this change of pace. Wonderful read!

Sinful Daughter: A Mafia Romance by Emily Bowie is a brilliant story about two people from the same world but on opposite sides. This is the first book that I have read by this author and what an introduction!! Right from the start this book takes off with a bang. It is such an intense story. The attraction that each of the characters have for the other, the interns battles to stop the emotions. I was hooked immediately. The book itself was a pretty quick read but it was so fast paced that it suited this style. At times it felt like the pages were almost turning themselves I was so engrossed in what was happening. This is a fantastic book and the best way to be introduced to a new author. If this book is anything to go by I cannot wait to discover more of her work.

Sinful Daughter by Emily Bowie if you are into romance and into mafia romance. Especially forbidden love and enemies to lover this book is for you.
Theo Fox: I’m about to bring down the world’s most powerful mafia family. Until next time, Aria Rossi. She’s seductive and feisty in equal measure. I really want to despise her. She, on the other hand, absorbs me and draws me into her universe. Every time we meet, she blurs the borders between good and wrong, distorting my moral compass. She’s turned into a diversion that will lead to my death. Will I make the correct decision if I had to pick between a profession I enjoy and a girl I have to despise? Is there ever such a thing as a choice?
Aria Rossi: He’s the one officer who can’t be bought, and he’s turning us against each other. I desire him, yet I despise him. He should be off-limits, but I can’t say no when he puts his hands on my body. My family is on the verge of war, and Theo Fox wants to win by eradicating the Rossi surname. I never begged for him to take my heart, yet it was never in doubt. The entire globe is on fire. Will my heart survive my frantic endeavor to preserve my family, or will it turn to ash? When the smoke clears, will any of us be standing?
I loved this story and the concept of it as well. I love stories like this they can be very entertaining. Definitely recommend. This is the first book that I have read from this author, I cant wait to read more.

Theo is an honest cop trying to do what he can to take down the Rossi/Mancini Mafia families. Most of the officers have been corrupted by the families. Aria is the daughter of Niccoli Rossi. She is a gorgeous woman who has caught Theo’s attention. She is confident, beautiful and knows what she wants, but she also knows how the mafia life works. It’s clearly a case of “you can’t have your cake and eat it too.” These two think they can sneak around. Little do they know but Mafia Dad sees all and knows all. Dealing with local drug dealers, sister drama, rival mafia families, and matchmaking families can make a normal person crazy but Aria handles it all. She’s like a trooper totally putting herself at risk and Theo is behind thinking he is going to rescue her. Eventually, there is a drama that they will need help for. Will Aria be able to handle it? Will she crash emotionally? You are just going to have to pick up the book and check it out. This book brings all the feels and emotions. Characters are awesome. You’ll file like they are people you know. Highly recommend.
