Whoo!! I loved these two books in this box set. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author and it was well worth the read. Each story is a stand alone and all steamy. It got to the meat and potatoes without any of the fluff. If you just want sex scenes then this is a read for you! I thouroughly enjoyed these two books and will definitely be buying more later on! Well written and composed. 5 out of 5 stars!

Caine by Anise Storm is the 2nd book in the Men of Syn series. In this installment, we follow the story of Caine, who has run to Denver to escape false accusations of the murder of his father. Here is turns to his friend Hawke, who helps Caine by offering employment in Syn, the BDSM club. This is where Caine meets Emery Wilder, a socialite living off her fathers wealth who’s never worked a day in her life. Emery is taken by surprise when she is removed from her penthouse home due to her father’s criminal accusations that freeze his assets. Emery is left with only some clothing and her car, which breaks down late at night in the middle of no where. Caine comes in as her savior this night and they grow a relationship that is steamy and unique. I enjoyed this book better then the first one mainly because of the characters. Emery at first is a spoiled girl but she grows into the situation that she found herself in. She wasn’t down on herself the entire story and I appreciate a character with growth. Caine is a protector and his love for Emery shines through. Great series by Anise Storm.

This is the 2nd book in the Men of Syn series. I really love these books. I love the dark gripping side along with the romance which catches you by surprise. The characters are really well written and your opinion of them changes as the book progresses.
Caine is running away from his life in D.C. After his father is found murdered and he becomes prime suspect. He runs to his mate Hawke who gives him somewhere to work and lay low while he tries to solve the murder of his father. While he’s there he meets Emery. Emery is a princess who lives off her daddy. She thinks she’s above people and her attitude stinks. Emery thinks she has her life sorted until her dad is arrested for drug trafficking charges and all his assets frozen. Now Emery is homeless and broke and the person she turns to is Caine. What starts out as a way to distract herself and give her a bed for the night becomes so much more as the couple get to know one another and their relationship grows.
However things aren’t that straight forward and when Caine realises the connection between his fathers murder and Emery’s father’s incarceration they need to work together to solve the cases.
This story is gripping and a real page turner. You want the couple to be together and happy however sometimes the skeletons that are coming out could be to much for the couple to bear.

I enjoyed this suspenseful romance story. This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first one if not better. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the first word. Her characters are unique and steamy. They are connectable and they brought the story to life on each page. They made the story fun and easy to read as well as hard to put down. I enjoyed their growth and chemistry throughout the story. The author’s use of details made their story realistic. This is Caine and Emery’s story. Find out what happens when these two have a chance meeting on a stormy night. You don’t want to miss this one, it is worth the pick up. This is a great story that I really enjoyed which I highly recommend.

Caine (Men of Syn Book 2) by Anise Storm is one book I have wanted to get my hands on after reading the first book Hawke. Anise has written these perfectly imperfect alpha men to give us a sexy, titillating and thrilling read. He is on the run and headed to his friend who owns the BDSM club, SYN to hide out. She has gone from an entitled princess to broke overnight. What ensues is hot, steamy, explosive and downright dirty. Secrets from their past threaten them both and will it be too much and keep them apart? I really enjoyed these two and even in the midst of trouble they are fun and their witty banter will have you smiling. I said it when I read the first book and it is true after I have read this book but I cannot wait for more Men of Syn.

Mysterious. Wanted. Murderer – Caine Stephens was considered all of those things. On the run, he enlists the help of his best friend, Hawke, who gives him a job to earn some extra money. While he was supposed to keep his head down and focus on trying to clear his name, that plan goes awry when he meets one of Denver’s quintessential society débutantes.
Spoiled. Entitled. Princess – All were words that once described Emery Wilder until her father becomes embroiled in a scandal that leaves her reeling and virtually penniless. There are no more penthouse apartments, designer clothes, or days filled with pampering. Without any of the luxuries she once took for granted, she is left with an uncertain future.
A stormy night brings the unlikely pair together in a way that neither anticipated. Emery is determined to clear her father and regain everything taken from her, while Caine is fighting for his freedom. Despite the risks and secrets, the couple begins to fall in love, but it’s not at all hearts and roses. What happens when the skeletons in his closet collide with those in hers? Is it too late to salvage the one thing they both want more than anything else?

Hawke is the first in a BDSM romance series, Men of Syn. Nathanial “Hawke” Hawkins is the owner of Syn, a BDSM club opening in Denver. He hires Charlotte Maxwell’s company to plan the grand opening party. Neither of them realize at first that they actually know each other through a BDSM club in another city the previous year.
I did not like Hawke at first. He is abrupt, rude, and dismissive of pretty much everyone around him. He did grow on me, and learning about why he acts the way he does helped, as did the development of his character. I liked Charlotte immediately, and even though she is submissive in the bedroom, she is anything but outside of that. I liked her independence and fire. The chemistry between Hawke and Charlotte is real! They are like 2 objects being pulled together by gravity.
Overall, I liked the story, but there were a couple things I had a hard time with. I felt their emotions developed fairly quickly, especially with all the conflict. The part in the hotel room also made me a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, I still liked the story and am glad I read it. [The knife part in the hotel room made me uncomfortable and the speed at which feelings developed when there was so much conflict bothered me a bit. (hide spoiler)]
Despite that, I still liked the story and am glad I read it.

A “syn”-ful read that is sure to keep you flipping pages for more. This book hooked me from the first chapter and had the spice, romance, and suspense that kept me wanting more throughout. The characters were so well written that I felt as though I was really able to connect with them personally. I loved the writing style and found it to be an easy read that I could immerse myself in at anytime. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next of syn to become available.

Hawke was a great read! This is definitely a dark and graphic romance story, with some possible triggering points for people who have went through abuse in their life. I couldn’t stop reading this book. Once I started I couldn’t stop. It completely enthralled me. While I felt some of the storyline was drug out and wishy-washy, I also feel like it added to the story. This a completely thrilling romance that will keep you in its grip the whole read. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!

Hawke by Anise Storm is a book filled with steamy moments that will make your heart go wild. The polar opposites of the main characters, Hawke and Charlotte, makes the push and pull between these two characters captivating. The story will certainly leave you wanting more. There are no shortages of erotic, funny, sad, and heart wrenching moments. It is not just a love story, it is a journey.

Wow! I stayed up into the wee hours of the night because I couldn’t put it down! Literally from the time I started the book to the last page, I didn’t put it down. I loved Hawke. A tragic and tortured hero with an awful childhood will break your heart and make you scream. At the same time, you will totally understand his issues. I didn’t connect as much to Charlotte, but loved her insistence. It isn’t a light read, but I felt the author handled dark subjects very well. The plot and romance were believable. I look forward very much to the next book with Caine’s story.

This book is not for the faint of heart, please check the trigger warnings before reading. With that being said if you love a dark spicy read this book is it! The chemistry between Hawke and Charlotte is absolutely palatable. He’s dark and twisted thanks to his past while she is sweet and full of light, throughout reading it’s clear opposites attract. I loved that BDSM was integral for the story. Then the fact of the thriller aspect was fantastically thrown in as well. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series because I need to see more about the other characters in this story!

What a rollercoaster that was. I feel like I loved and hated Charlotte and Hawke both, but somehow in the most enjoyable way. Most of the time I wanted to throttle Charlotte because she just kept crawling back for more. But…. I loooooooved it! And stayed up much too late devouring this story. Hawke is dark, with scars so deep he thinks there is no hope for him. Charlotte is impulsive, and even though she drove me nuts at times, she did what Ryder told her. She fought for him, even when she probably shouldn’t have. This is steamy, and will make you hate and love and blush, a wicked convocation. Read it!

Oh. My. Goodness. That was a whirlwind to read. Hawke just made me want to hug and smack him all at the same time. He is a broken Dom that doesn’t know what he needs or wants. He is so afraid of his demons overcoming him. I adore Charlotte. I just love how she stands up against Hawke when she needs to and fights for them. This has so much to enjoy. This is a Erotic thriller and It will definitely have you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to read the next book!!

Hawke by Anise Storm is the first book in the Men of Syn series. I took a chance on a subject I’m not too familiar with but I’m glad I did. This story leads you into the BDSM lifestyle and how love can be found within. I really enjoyed the character of Hawke and uncovering how he became the dominant. He is a broken soul who feels he is undeserving of good and love in the world. Charlotte was only a decent character. I found her to be a bit too “bad things happen to me too” type of persona and just did not vibe with her rich girl ways. She was a bit needy in my opinion but maybe that is why she makes a good submissive. The story itself was fun to read but the suspense thrown into the mix came late into the storyline and didn’t really make a huge impact on the overall love story. Overall, very satisfied with this read.

Hawke is book one in the Men of Syn series by Anise Storm. A new author to me, Anise Storm’s writing quickly became a very interesting addition to my ever expanding library. A creative and imaginative author capable of sinning a sinister and mysterious tale full of intrigue, passion and seriously hot characters. Appealing to my love for the alpha male and dominant men, Hawke ticked all the boxes and sent every single sense tingling.
The story grasped my attention instantly and had me gasping. Each character was complex, especially Hawke. Each scene well executed and thought out. Each sexy moment meant to create shortness of breath and spine tingling bliss. Not ever quite knowing what the next turn of the page would bring, this story was engaging, captivating and unforgettable. Hawke and Charlotte had history, worked their way past it and created memories and paved a new path to HEA. A thrilling read that satisfied and mesmirised. 5 stars.

Steamy enemy to lovers, second chance, BDSM novel.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hawke, as this was my first book by Anise, and I was pleasantly surprised. I think I’m gonna like the world of Syn.
Hawke has just moved to Colorado and is opening up a BDSM club after finding success in other cities. While there are some obstacles he will stop at nothing to have the Valentine’s Day kick off party go off without a hitch. Charlotte may be a rich girl, and the only daughter, but she’s not your typical soon to be trophy wife. She owns her own business and enjoys working. Little does she know when she takes a job to plan an event it’s for a man who literally left her hanging and unsatisfied.
I enjoyed the push and pull between Hawke and Charlotte. Hawke is more of an Alpha-hole, as well as Dom, and doesn’t come across as likable at first, but he quickly grew on me. The attraction between Hawke and Charlotte was palpable, but of course they had to fight it.
I enjoyed the build up of background characters, meant to whet the appetite for more to come.

Wow….this book..this story! Charlotte is strong and determined, being on her own and running her very own party planning business. Nathaniel aka Hawke, arrogant, rude dangerous but yet vulnerable and his pasts really haunts him. Charlotte and Hawke did meet prior, but little did she know she runs into him again when he is looking to hire someone to help plan a masquerade party for his new business at Syn. Charlotte wants all of Hawke and nothing less but he will not let Charlotte in as his past haunts him so much. When I read more into this story, Hawke past, it was truly hard to fathom how the people he should have trusted the most let him down. The abuse and torture that he went through as a child really got to me. Then there is a also mystery involved in the story of a serial killer. Who is this person and will Charlotte be his next victim? There is so much to this book and it was hard to put down. This is the first book of Author Anise Storm’s and will definitely not be my last. This is a fantastic book!

Hawke by Anise Storm is the first book in the Men of Syn series. This is a fantastic and intense book in which the characters had such a strong connection. I found this book to be much more emotional than I expected. I tend to find that BDSM books are all about the dominant/submissive side of things and lack the emotional connection. But that couldn’t be any further from the truth with this book. You were really taken on a full experience and it enhanced the reading enjoyment. This is a brilliant book one I cannot wait to read book two.

Hawke is the first book in the Men of Syn series by Anise Storm. It was the first time I had read any of this authors work but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did as what I got is a great erotic story that had me gripped from the very beginning right up to the very end. Syn is a new BDSM member only club being opened by Nathaniel ‘Hawke’ Hawkins and Charlotte Maxwell is the event planner he hires to plan the opening night of the club. However, unknown to them both, they have met before in a night that neither of them can forget. I loved Hawke and Charlotte (Charlie)’s story. I was a bit unsure of Hawke at first as he came across as an arrogant a-hole but he soon grew on me and I absolutely loved him. The sexual chemistry between him and Charlie is off the charts HOT and I loved reading it. The story is very well written and flows well, keeping the reader engaged and entertained throughout. If you like a tasty BDSM story then I’d definitely recommend that you give Hawke a try. I really enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to seeing what Anise Storm has in store for us in the rest of this series. If the rest is anything like this book then we are in for a great ride.

Hawke by Anise Storm is the first book in the Men of Syn series. Fair warning, there are some very intense BDSM scenes in this story.
This is my first read by Anise Storm, but I am excited to read the next. Charlotte is a fiercely independent, strong minded, and determined woman. She runs her own party planning business and running your own business is great, but sometimes it brings you face to face with people you had hoped to never see again.
Nathaniel runs a BDSM club and is strict with the way he operates; in his personal life and his business. He picks a random party planner with great reviews, and regrets it immediately. There are very few people he hasn’t been able to forget, but Charlotte is one of them.
The connection is there, but almost forbidden. Can Charlotte calm the demons behind Nathaniel’s behavior and remain true to herself? With dangers hidden behind every corner, you won’t want to put it down.

Hawke by Anise Storm was a very interesting read for me, while I don’t normally read things this dark it wasn’t quite dark enough for me to consider it a dark romance. Instead I would categorize it as a suspenseful romance. While this is my first read by Ms. Storm I wasn’t sure what I was in for by the front cover alone had me ready to dive in. While the BDSM scenes are a little serious for my taste it was still a fantastic read with great characters, plot, and writing and I look forward to my next read from Ms. Storm.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is captivating. Its one of those books that you can’t put down because you need to know what happens next. The characters are well written and believable. Their thoughts and feelings are easy to understand and you go through all the emotions with them.
Charlotte is a party planner. When she is hired to organise a party of a new club called Syn she gets into a world she’s has experienced before. That experience has left her scared when the dominant male just left her. Still suffering from that moment she is left reeling when she realises that the guy she is working for is the same guy who abandoned her.
Hawke is a successful business man. He loves his dominent lifestyle and all that brings. He has rules and if they aren’t followed he send the women away. Which is what he did with Charlotte. However she is one submissive he has never stopped thinking about.
Now back in each others lives they have to fight the attraction between them but they are both fighting for opposite things. Charlotte is fighting to prove to him they could walk together where as Hawke wants to distance himself. Hawkes past has made him the man he is today and we learn about his past through this story.
The book is fast paced and very passionate and steamy. And along with with deep parts about Hawkes past life it all gels together to make a romance that you can’t put down.

Syn is the scene of the moment for Hawk and Charlotte. A hot new BDSM, members-only club, being built by Hawke is right where the action begins with break-ins and drug-deals. It’s not even open yet! Charlotte is the party planner for the grand opening. Imagine her surprise to find out that he’s the dominant who kicked her out in D.C. It’s back and forth chemistry between them as they work through their issues. With the help of her BFF, Em, and her cop brothers, Charlotte gains the confidence to tell Hawke exactly how she feels. Hawke grows in learning that his feelings for her are a good things and love is good. All this comes about while trying to avoid a serial killer. There is action no matter where you look in this story along with twisted, steamy BDSM, romance. Hot and action packed. Highly recommend.

Nathaniel “Hawke” Hawkins prepares to open his BDSM nightclub, Syn, soon in Denver, Colorado. He hires Platinum Dreams to plan his opening night on Valentine’s Day. Much to his surprise and that of the event planner, Charlotte Maxwell, the two have met before.
A year before, Charlotte had gone to The Box in Washington, DC. She was to be a submissive, but the Dominant left her before the scene ever got started. After meeting Hawke, she realizes that he was the Dom that left her.
For Hawke, Charlotte has been in his thoughts since he first saw her. He’s not thinking like himself. His tortured past bears a lot of skeletons which even with therapy he still deals with most days. He’s not sure how to get out of this funk.
Charlotte and Hawke must reconcile their relationship, whatever it is meant to be. Can they accomplish this before an unseen adversary takes a possible future away?

Charlotte Maxwell was well known in the Denver social scene, partially because of who her parents were and partially because she had been making a name for herself as an event planner. Charlotte’s latest client is hauntingly familiar, but unknown.
Nathaniel “Hawke” Hawkins is opening a new exclusive club in Denver. He randomly picks Charlotte’s company off a list that a friend had given him, but when he realizes who she is, he wishes he had picked differently. The connection is undeniable. Hawke is unwilling to allow Charlotte in his life because he doesn’t believe she will be able to handle his demons. Charlotte has lived a life of privilege and beauty. Hawke’s life has been anything but.
Charlotte’s attraction to Hawke puts her directly into the view of the latest deviant stalking women in Denver. Can Hawke save Charlotte before she becomes the latest victim? Will she save him from his demons in the process?
Anise Storm collides Hawke’s tortured soul with Charlotte’s love. The push and pull between these two characters builds until it seems they might be torn apart forever by something they never expected. I would have enjoyed more background on the stalker and think that this character could have been developed more. The stalker’s identity kept me guessing until the reveal. Looking forward to Caine!
Trigger warning: This story contains depictions of child abuse and BDSM scenes. May not be suitable for all audiences.

Charlotte is an event planner. Hawke is opening a new club and wants the grand opening party to be spectacular. Little did they know, they had already met. He humiliated her and walked out of a scene in a BDSM club one year earlier. She had gotten under his skin then and continues to do so now. The heat between Charlotte and Hawke is intense. Charlotte’s best friend encourages her to go after what she wants. Even though Hawke seems to be able to turn her down and walk away. Can Charlotte break through his all defenses to be the light in his life? I enjoyed the emotional journey of this story, it reminds me that our lives aren’t always fantastic, but there is hope.

I will begin with saying I loved this book. Read it in one day and could not put it down. This is the first book I have read by author Anise Storm. I will be looking for more with no doubt. This book had me feeling all kinds of things. I was thrilled, conflicted, heartbroken, angry, frustrated, and optimistic. The connection between Charlotte and Hawke was one of ice and passion. They had an undeniable connection. She is a submissive and Hawke a dominant. She has a great stubborn attitude which I loved. She is a submissive but still is so strong and speaks her mind before thinking it out most of the time. This gets her into some interesting situations. Hawke is a troubled and haunted man so has been through more than any human ever should. Hawke hires her to plan the opening masquerade ball at his new business Syn, a BDSM club. Spark and fire will fly. I say again I loved this book and will be looking for book 2.

Arrogant. Sexy. Eerily Familiar – All were true when it came to Charlotte Maxwell’s newest client in need of a party planner. She experienced deja vu the moment she met the sexy club owner, and soon realized that he was the faceless Dominant responsible for the most mortifying night of her life just one year earlier.
Beautiful. Innocent. Submissive – Nathaniel ‘Hawke’ Hawkins knew the gorgeous blonde was off limits to him the moment he realized their connection. He’d allowed her to get under his skin once, but he was determined to hold her at arm’s length this time. Of course, that was much easier said than done once passion erupts between them at the masquerade party.
Addictive. Obsessive. Dangerous – While Hawke remains haunted by skeletons from his own past, Charlotte is determined to show him there is something between them. In denial about his growing attraction for her, someone much more sinister develops his own deadly obsession with Charlotte. Will Hawke be able to conquer his own demons before his potential future is taken away from him?
