A trippy ride through the author’s head. It has been a long time since I needed a dictionary to get through a read, but be sure to bring yours while you dance along the cultural references and deep dives into Webster’s.

The jaunts through the author’s depression, love of music, dislike of certain local rap artists, and enjoyment of life are beautifully phrased. Though not my cup of tea (not a big fan of the Beatles), the words inspire, the images familiar, the feeling mirror.

I would willingly wander through this author’s wonderland again.

I am not always one to pick up a book of poetry. I am not a poet, by any means, so in order to grab me and pull me in, the words have to create an epic visual in my head. The cover was what caught my attention, initially. I was hesitant because it was poetry, but it had to do with music, so I gave it a shot. I’m not gonna lie, the Robin Williams quote was what got me excited. He’s one of my favorite humans. Y’all, this is amazing. While taking in the words, I couldn’t help but envision them how they would appear on sheet music. To be clear, I cannot read notes or music to save my life, but I do have rhythm – and these words are music in my mind. This is different than any book of poetry I have read before, and I’m glad I did not pass it by. I love words, and I love music, so I ended up really loving this book. Highly recommend.

I have never read a full book of poetry before, so I was not entirely sure what to expect. Poetry can be a very deep and personal form of artistic expression and, for me, can also be very difficult to interpret if not the composer. However, I felt like I was able to maintain a fairly good sense of understanding throughout.

While many of the poems were deep and seemed to come from a place of depression, annoyance and anger, the emotions were beautifully captured by the author’s gift with words. And not all of the poetic writings were desolate. Some were light, or heavily influenced by music the author loves. And some even made me giggle. Dark or light, I caught myself nodding in understanding or relating to many of emotions shared. I also quite enjoyed the periodic journal-type writings tucked in between.

I am very glad I tried something new and gave this compilation of poems a chance. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I truly enjoyed the works of Ryan Becker and I hope there is more to come.

Euphoric Wonderland is a great collection of poems about the author’s personal life, the power of music and other things. I enjoyed the poems about his love for the Beatles, the one where music has helped his life, the one that talks about different guitars and the last poem in the collection. I love that he put “music’s finding the beat that only you can hear” in one of the poems. That is such a great powerful line about how music affects everyone in different ways. Ryan Becker has come up with unique verses about his struggles and his musical interests that help readers relate to everyday life. The pop culture references in the poems are great (crazy train, Yesterday etc). Euphoric Wonderland is for music lovers and people that love the Beatles.

Euphoric Wonderland by Ryan M. Becker. I was a little hesitant of this book because poetry is not my favorite but I ended up really enjoying it. It being a memoir of sorts, the author really left his heart and soul on the pages. Poetry is very thought, emotion and heart provoking and this collection was no different. Some will make you think, some will make you cry and other will make you question your own existence in this crazy world. This book is best read and may be even reread so that you can really delve into the meaning to these poems. Some may touch you and others you may not relate to at all but I highly recommend giving it a shot. You might just learn something.

I ended up buying the book because the ebook version was in black and white on my kindle which was hard for me to read. I knew based on the illustrations and the first poem that I wanted this poetry book anyway.
I’m glad I bought it. The vocabulary throughout this book is LARGE. I highly recommend having your Google app open to the dictionary as you read this. This book was relatable for me once I fully took the time to understand what I was reading and WOW does it flow off of the tongue when read aloud.
If you like poetry and The Beatles, this book is for you.

I love poetry….and this collection was intriguing, interesting and really spoke to me. The poems come from emotion, feelings, music and current social issues. I loved as I turned each page and not only to read the poetic story that the author was telling me but the use of different colors..some light colors and some black and gray…and sometimes pictures were included as well.

My favorite poems were “Divided in Two” , “Water Replaced Displaced in Space” and “Imagine Dread, in Hell It’s Dead Without a Skull or Brain Instead”.

Very well done!!

First off the book is beautiful, the art is stunning and drew my eye to each page. I am not very well versed at understanding what poetry is trying to say, but in this book of mixed poetry, I could FEEL the different messages the poems were trying to give off. Along with he background art, I could get a sense of whether the poem was more on the dark side or brighter. The Beatles will forever be a great source of genius in their music, and will continue to inspire young and old for years to come. I am excited to see this author embracing their music and the way it has changed his life, it really makes me want to sit down and listen to my Beatles records from beginning to end and really listen. Music really can move you and I love that it moved this author so much as to make so many wonderful poems to share. In the end, all I want to do is eat cinnamon toast crunch!

Poetry is a passion of mine so the synopsis of this title piqued my interest. The author did an incredible job with this beautiful ensemble. The rhythm and descriptive words help you see within their mind, body and soul as they create a depiction of life utilizing their eloquent words and emotions.

Don’t be fooled by some of the entries that are shorter than others, as they too will pack a punch. Some of the poems will make you smile, laugh, feel, etc. To evoke any and all of these actions is a testament to this author’s gift of word.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to any future publications.

To be honest, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. There are some folks out there that throw words on a page in a haphazard sort of way, and call it poetry. Some quite enjoy the spontaneity of this work, and others require a little more effort put in to the way that emotions, feelings, and knowledge is brought forward in a poetic sort of way. I am one of the latter, and after getting into these pages, I really enjoyed it.

This author put down his thoughts, regardless of his person being tormented, deliriously happy, confused or unsure, and sculpted them into something delectable. I will be going back and reading many of these at a later date when I am more in tune with my own person so I can enjoy the accuracy of the poems within, but for now, many of them brought me feelings of peace and confirmation that I am not alone. I do recommend giving this unique read a go, you may find it to be inspiring, well done!

Poetry isn’t usually my go to read, but I am so glad this title caught my eye. I am a sucker for anything Wonderland and this collection of poems did not disappoint. I put on my favorite songs, which included quite a few discographies from the Beatles, and just let the words fill my soul as the music washed over me. The author has a well-rounded musical and literary background, which was clear in the different poems. The poems were varied and each had a different feeling and vibe to them. Scattered throughout the book, we would then get the musings of the author about how he came to write and why he chose to write the poems in his collections. He is definitely an author I will be keeping an eye out for and this will be a collection that I know I will be reaching for in the future when I an looking for an escape and a new way to look at feelings.

Euphoric Wonderland’s excerpt was by far the sole reason I decided to give this book a read! Becker’s poetic writing style is one of true magnitude; his continuous attention grabbers, meticulous details, and titillating thoughts truly enthrall you into the readings. Becker tells not only separate poems that can withstand on their own (outside of the book setting) but tells a story vividly intwined and elegantly laid out one stand-alone poem at a time. The ability he has to remove the reader from their current environment into his world is phenomenal and something not many poetry books can pull off.

This author is either chemically enhanced, neurodivergent, or mentally twisted…in a greatly entertaining way! This really is a work of art with the colorful pages and even more colorful words. Each poem takes you on a journey through the authors eyes. I loved being able to escape reality for a few minutes at a time by reading a few passages. I would suggest this book to anyone that loves poetry, art, and has a twisted sense of humor.

This is an eclectic work of modern poetry. Ryan M. Becker takes you on a trippy, edgy yet completely relatable ride through his poems. I really enjoyed reading his poetry and I loved that I could read a poem or two here and there. Some where longer than others, but they weren’t too long. A lot of his poetry was very nostalgic and brought back memories of my childhood and teen years. I loved his word choice and more than once I was running to the dictionary (which I love to do) to see what a word meant or how to pronounce it. I absolutely LOVED the artistic aesthetic of this collection of poems. The art done by Matthew Revert was spot on with each poems and equally as trippy and edgy. Even if you don’t think poetry is your genre, give this a shot…I think you’ll like it!

I’ll admit it. I don’t understand poetry all that well. Poetry is an art, and it’s very beautiful, but sometimes I just don’t get it. This book of poems is incredible. Not only is the book beautifully detailed and attention grabbing, but the poems are beautiful. Now I don’t understand them all, but I understand enough. The rhyming is exquisite, the topics range from heartwarming to deep, soul concerning topics. Some of the poems featured in this book I didn’t like, some I loved and some made me laugh out loud and read them multiple times. I definitely recommend this collection. It’s a fantastic one.

A good collection of poems. It is an amalgamation of dreams, emotions and the past we have all more or less dealt with. There are few which I could easily relate to, few which I could not, which is understandable as every one’s experiences are different. The poems primarily deal with mental health issues, social isolation and self doubt. The best part is the rhyming was one of the key aspects of this poetry. I really liked that the poems rhymed, it was kind of very soothing to hear my own voice, so I read it aloud. Overall a profound experience.

This was a really interesting and thought provoking read. The author does an amazing job of transporting us through the use of poetry. There are many sensitive issues in this books such as dealing with mental health and pain tha life throws our way.
Each poem is unique in length and style but they are all captivating and allows the reader a glimpse into the author’s mind, and world.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with a book about poetry but the authors writing style and the uniqueness of each poem made me read from cover to cover.
The artistic way the author writes makes the reader feel fully captivated by the story of this person’s life and their outlook on things.

Well worth getting lost in the authors world for a while.

This book is completely outside of my usual comfort zone but it was something that caught my attention and I had to give it a go. It is the perfect eclectic mix of weird and relatable and it felt like there really was something for everyone within its pages. I really enjoyed the fact that I could dip in an out of this book, reading a poem or 2 here and there. It meant, for me, that it didn’t get old and I engaged with each entry I read.
This is a new author to me as well but I enjoyed the way the poems were constructed. You could tell that a lot of thought and effort had gone into each of them. Although not my usual type of book I would definitely pick up another book by this author.

This book surprised me and is so beautifully written that I was left speechless repeatedly. The flow of each poem is different but still amazing. I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I picked this up, but I was pleased with the gorgeous melody of each line I read.

I fell in love with the very first poem, “The Story of Me and What’s to Be” and I was afraid that the author put the best first. I was pleasantly proven wrong as I read each one as individual as the one before. Another memorable one was “Bits per Second, Tech Protectant, Descendant Who or What Expectant.” It brought me to tears and I found it incredibly relatable. The stories that are so wonderfully spun gave me more and more to think about.

I laughed and cried during this adventure and read each poem multiple times to soak them in. I highly recommend picking this up and reading with an open mind as it’s such a one-of-a-kind, amazing experience.

Poetry is not normally my genre. However, I was captured by the cover of book and the ‘blurb.’ This is truly some psychedelic poetry. There is one piece that struck a chord: Waste Replaced Displaced in Space. It felt like a stoned Dr. Suess but it really does make you think, feel and try to open your mind .Stall, Slip and Fall Before You Get To It All, isn’t that a description of life? There are many original poems in here. They are creative, unique and speak to you. Give this book a shot. You may find you like it.

What a wonderful collection of readings! I loved the poems this book held and possessed, it was work and words that really connected to me, and made me feel and think things.

The poems this collection had were not just empty words being thrown randomly onto a page and hoping it sounds good. It was full of a heart’s creation, and a feeling and devotion towards life itself. I am someone who has gone through my own mental health stuff here and there, and these poems were enlightening and beautiful, and the words I read, feelings I felt, really were uplifting and heartfelt. I know for a fact I will be re-reading this collection time and time again. I find the words can really help someone who’s struggling, or just wants to feel that connection, so yes, I truly loved the work and wonders this wonderful author has created!

I love poems, but these hit me deep. I look forward to future work by this gifted author, this collection and book is not one to be passed up, a must read for everyone no matter where your path of life is. Highly recommend this must read book and this wonderful author!

This book is as eclectic and intriguing as its title and its author. Ryan entertains us with his sarcasm, wit and dry sense of humour in light of dealing with pain, mental health issues and life in general with comedic poetry. The poems come at us in all colours, shapes and sizes and rhythms.

You never know what you are going to get. There is something for all the senses except taste and I am sure if Ryan could have done it, he would have.

It is clear he has had a difficult journey and made it out the other side, a little battered and bruised along with some scars but nevertheless he survived.

Having dealt with mental illness I could relate to some of things in this book.

His thoughts make for interesting reading as he tells stories with his poetry. Sprinkled with humour, dreams, hopes, energy, emotion, insights, opinion, memories, struggles, love, and just a touch of madness- Mr. Becker puts it all out there, challenging the reader, whilst stimulating their minds. There are parts that are quite dark, but there are lighter moments too. I enjoyed the unique creativity and lyrical quality to his work.
Well worth the read!

Euphoric Wonderland is Ryan Becker’s seminal literary work which was largely inspired by the relationship he has with his parents, both of whom are poets in their own rights and words. His father is a self-taught classical pianist, as well as an avid Shakespeare fan and aficionado. Those two elements of the fine arts were instilled in Ryan at an early age and were quickly absorbed through his father’s reading to him about famous musicians and writers.

As an avid collector of vinyl records, upon hearing the music of The Beatles for the first time, specifically their Abbey Road album, Ryan knew his destiny was to write. “Every step of this life’s journey is a learning experience,” proclaims Mr. Becker. He further adds, “The Beatles taught me how not to have hate in my heart, why we must help people in need, and to never hesitate to openly express my feelings in any situation.”

Ryan credits his even-tempered, soft-spoken mother for his development as a human being. He tries to emulate her cool-under-pressure manner as well as her kind and empathetic heart, which she shares with anyone in need. It is those characteristics he’s inherited that allow him to express himself through his writing.

Ryan’s childhood carried with it some undeniably emotional bumps and bruises, explaining “Everyone has struggles, and many have their inner demons. The only way for me to exorcize them is by taking them out of my brain and putting them down on paper.”

Writing can be a wonderful escape from reality as well as a fantastic way of feeling comfort within one’s true reality.

Watching reruns of Smallville on repeat, Ryan asserts that the character of Clark Kent, portrayed by Tom Welling, has taught him a few things about growing up. For example, it helped him learn how to speak and interact better with others—trust in people who treat him right and never disregard someone who has his best interests at heart.

It is why he proclaims, “Don’t ever let anyone take a torch to your dreams. Use that fire to motivate you to achieve your greatness, no matter in which arena you might be endeavoring!”
