This is a great collection of stories written by eight great authors. Each story is different, original and brings romance and suspense to a new level. These are a group of authors that some are new to me and some I have read before. They are written with a lot of heart and emotion. One of my favorites was Her Dancer. It brought the suspense and the twists and turns to a new level for me. It pulled me into the story and I had to see what would happen next. These are a really great collection of stories that I think anyone would enjoy and it certainly will get you in the mood for Halloween. I highly recommend this anthology.

With Book One ending with Lillie being kidnapped for the second time, I had to immediately seek out this book to continue this fun and steamy story. The evil sorcerer wants more power and will do whatever he needs to get it. He still thinks Lillie knows more than she is telling, can she save herself a second time? The Zayed are in imminent danger and she needs to get back to them and the life that she has found. She has finally found where she belongs!! I think that is something that we all look for in this life, somewhere to belong, I could relate very well to this.

This was a first for me by this author and not really quite what I expected it to be. However, it turned out to be just as good, if not better, than what I thought when I started. I did feel like there was much more that needed to be written when I finished it, so I am glad to now know that the second part is now available. I am hoping that this will continue and finish off some of the questions that I had from this one. I will say that after a few chapters in I found myself immersed in a world of romance, magic, mystery, and a lot of laughter. The main character is brilliant on so many levels and I truly wanted to be in her little world. It was a fast read for me and I felt like I needed it to go on longer than it did.

I was more than ready to dive into this book head first. After part one, I was left wanting more and I was not disappointed. Lillie has such a great relationship with these guys after feeling like she never belonged anywhere and it really speaks to your heart. Each guy has something different to bring to the table, but no one is prepared for what Lillie brings. I loved that there was some closure on some things in this book, but if it were to turn into a longer series, I’d definitely keep reading!

This is a quick read that takes place over the course of a couple of days…but there is a lot that goes on.

Without giving too much away (it is a quick read), Lillie has been raised to fear the Zayed. So when she comes across them, imagine her surprise when it is not fear that she feels. She feels that she belongs. However, a sorcerer is after her for what he thinks she can provide for him. However, once she is released, she finally gets what the sorcerer was after. Now she just has to figure out how she fits into the bigger picture.

This story ends in a cliffhanger…so I will definitely be checking out the next book ASAP! I was drawn in from the beginning. The wittiness and banter between characters is entertaining. And the descriptions were detailed enough that I could envision the world Lillie is in. Over, a good read!

  • This was such a fun read. I loved Lillie’s character, she is strong, independent and smart. Her life is completely changed the day she runs into two very handsome blue men, the Zayed and the great thing is there are so many more. This book is fast paced with magic, steamy moments, danger, suspense and great characters. I read this book in one sitting because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be reading part two. This is a book I recommend.View all my reviews

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a fantasy paranormal story that is a fast pace and quick read at 133 pages. The story is full of sexy blue men. Blue men sound familiar? It is full of drama and suspense, fantasy and romance, sarcasm and wit, and magic. The premise of the story is interesting but things seemed a little rushed. That could be because the timeline of this tale was only about 48 hours give or take but it felt like there could have been so much more to take it to the next level. Don’t get me wrong the story is engaging and fun and I enjoyed it.

I am going to read part two and see where it takes me.

Blue Summer Part One is a quick read with wit and humor, steamy romance, and magic. Lillie is a strong and independent woman who is used to only being able to depend on herself. One day, her purse is stolen and she runs into two Zayed while trying to recover it. The Zayed are blue humanoid creatures that rather remind me of an old childhood favorite. The Zayed have been in conflict with an evil sorcerer for many years, and this brief contact with the Zayed now has Lillie in the sorcerers sights! When the Zayed take her back to their village, she must figure out her place and discover if she’s strong enough to help the Zayed prevail. My only critique is that I do wish the story did not seem so rushed. The entire first part spans less than two days. The story ends on a cliffhanger that will definitely have you looking to buy the next part! I look forward to getting to read it!

Everly Taylor is a newer author to me and with that being said, I cannot wait to read some of her other books. Blue Summer has a nice easy, but fast pace at the same time, story. It has a meaty plotline that will hold your attention. The characters are full of zeal and life. They are well written with many details to make them real in your imagination. Lillie takes us on an adventure. The community of Zayed changed Lillie’s life. Will Lillie figure out what is going on around her before it is too late? Why is she so drawn to the Zayed community? I cannot wait to see what is in store in book 2. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I found this paranormal, fantasy romance both entertaining and engaging. The synopsis does not give much away so I was looking forward to getting immersed in the storyline and I was not disappointed. Lillie has grown up with hushed whispers about the blue skinned Zayed and has been taught to fear them. However, when she has an encounter with the Zayed she realises that the whispers and rumours are not true and changes her mind about them. When she is kidnapped by a sorcerer who believes she knows more than she does Lillie is taken deeper into the Zayed’s world. As she gets to know, Chief, Clay, Heath and Brian she discovers that she feels more at home in their world than in her own and has to figure out her role to save both herself and the Zayed community. This is a short, fast paced read with an exciting and original storyline which flows wells. The plot is full of drama, fantasy, romance, wit, and suspense all of which had me hooked from start to finish. The authors wonderful world building and descriptive narrative really bought the Zayed and their community to life and I fell in love with all the main characters. The cliffhanger ending has left me looking forward to book two.

Paranormal Romance with suspense is what this book holds for you. Full length and ready to be read. What a fun story to read.

Lillie life is turning a corner of falsehood. Everything she had been told growing up, the fears she carried were so very different as an adult. Good thing Lillie has an open mind, because she has stumbled into quite a mess. First her purse is taken off her shoulder, at which point she takes her heels off and in pursuit of the creep. Did I mention Zayed (The Blue Men)? She is much stronger than even she knows. Her strong will will either be her demise or saving grace. You must read the book for there will be no spoilers here.

I have not read anything from Everly Taylor in years. I am so pleased I took a chance with this story. As always she does not disappoint. You can’t help but fall in love with the blue men. In fact you can’t help falling In love with all of the characters. I love where this book goes and look forward to getting back to reading more from Everly Taylor. Job well done Everly Taylor! Well Done! Bring on Book Two.

I enjoyed the overall storyline of the book. The idea was good and well thought out. The characters really added to this – especially Lillie. I found her to be engaging and likeable right from the start.
This book does end on a cliffhanger so I will definitely be looking to read book two. But it is well worth your time and thoroughly enjoyable.

Blue Summer was the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be my last! I had no idea what to expect when I dove into this one but this storyline far exceeded anything I could have hoped for. It’s so detailed, entertaining, intense and oh so steamy! I was captivated right from the get go and ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading.

This author took me on such a beautifully described journey, one that I wouldn’t mind living in. The story is written with so much detail that I could easily picture everything playing out in my mind, which kept me highly entertained. I cannot wait to continue reading this storyline with Part Two.

If you are looking for a one of a kind read look no futher, this is the book for you!

Blue men with no women of their kind. Mushroom houses. An evil sorcerer.
Meeting the Zayed changes Lillie’s life forever. An accidental encounter causes her to be kidnapped by the evil sorcerer. He thinks she knows more than she does. I love Lillie, she is a strong, independent woman who knows how to take care of herself. She isn’t a woman that needs to be rescued. Where does she fit in with the Zayed community? Why does she feel as if she belongs when she hasn’t felt as if she belonged anywhere her entire life.
I really enjoyed the characters and the relationships she developed. The book is during a 48 hour period so everything happens very quickly. Heath, Clay, Brian, and Chief are very well developed and I felt connected. The book ends on a total cliffhanger, but I was totally engrossed. I had to know what happened and immediately bought book two and finished it right after book one.

Blue Summer Part One is the first book I’ve read by Everly Taylor. This paranormal fantasy held my attention from the very first page. I can’t wait to read part two of this story. Lillie is human and she was having a bad day when two big blue guys come into her life. Zayed are blue people that Lillie has only heard rumors about, but finds herself entangled with. This book is full of magic, suspense, adventure and big blue men. This short story was intriguing and I will keep my eye out for other book by Ms. Taylor.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a story full of paranormal and romance. There is so much romance and drama that is ready to be unfolded. The paranormal is a nice bonus in this love story.

They spoke about Zayed, the blue-skinned man. They warned us that we should be afraid of them. Fear, on the other hand, was formed of ignorance, and I recognized how wrong they were all. I had no idea that my first meeting with The Zayed would forever affect not just my perspective, but also my life. Kidnapped for what the sorcerer felt she could provide him, only to be rescued and given exactly what he was looking for. Now she had to figure out her part in all of this in order to save not just herself, but the whole Zayed Community as well.

I loved every page of it. Every chapter was lovely. I can’t wait to read more books from this author.

This is packed with magic, suspense and adventure. The authors style of writing and attention drew me into the world of magic, zayed and sorcerers. This started out wonderful. I enjoyed the meeting and the sarcasm. Then it seemed like I slipped into something else. All of that was gone and the book seemed to become more about a story filled with their history that needed to be told. The banter seemed gone as shock and softness became the normal. I liked the first two Zayed she met and loved their banter. I struggled making a connection to the characters except for Lillie and I do like Heath. But that seemed to fade away as well.

This is a reverse harem and also it ends on a cliffhanger. Two of my least favorite things. Why did I read this you ask? The synopsis sounded interesting and if the writing and characterization is good enough it doesn’t bother me. Plus I am always pleased when I am proven wrong. That is why I gave this one a chance.

Blue Summer (Part One) is an intriguing fantasy by Everly Taylor. Imagine an adult version of the Smurfs- well that’s what this story reminded me of. There’s magic, mystery, romance, sizzle, humour, drama, an evil sorcerer, clever world-building, and a fun storyline.
As this is the first book that I have read by Everly Taylor, I really didn’t know what to expect going in- but the premise sounded interesting, and the cute cover sealed the deal. While I enjoyed the story, I really do wish it had been longer, so I could have really immersed myself in the story and really gotten to ‘know’ the characters and their ‘world’ so much better. That’s not to say that the story was lacking, just that it could have been even better had there been ‘more’.
The timeline in the story only covers a couple of days, so there is a very fast pace which made for a very quick read. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I will definitely be reading the second book to discover what happens.
So, if you’ve always wondered what an adult version of the Smurfs might be like, then this is definitely the book for you!

Thank you, Everly Taylor!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was pretty good and different. The characters are well written and the way they play off each other with their little quirks.

Little heard whispers of the blue skinned Zayed in hushed whispers. They said we should fear them. And her first encounter with The Zayed would not only change my opinion but change her life forever.

Save by the Zayed kidnapped by a sorcerer for powers she didn’t have than she escapes to only be gifted such powers.

This book ends with a cliff hanger…. I really enjoyed and highly recommend this story

The way that Ms. Everly writes she makes you feel every emotion her characters feel, and she leaves you feeling like your in the middle of the action. Blue Summer Part One is a flirty re-telling of a childhood favorite cartoon that comes to life. I won’t spoil the fun, but it’s full of sexy blue men who don’t have any females of their kind! Taylor drops you into a beautifully steamy blue world where you have to suspend belief and just go with it. Her characters are developed, for such a quick read, and her world is bright and vivid. I kinda wish this had been extended into a longer story so that it encompassed a longer period than 48 hrs., so that it was more believable, but as it reads it’s still a fun little quickie! (pun totally intended!) This does end on a cliffhanger, but it truly just makes you need to one-click Blue Summer Part 2!

This book left me hanging, and I will be looking for the second part to come out. I am really getting an “ adult Smurf” vibe from this book, if anyone is old enough to remember them! Lillie runs into a bit of trouble and is helped by two men from a tribe of blue people. Later, she is kidnapped by a madman and is again saved by the two blue men, and some of their clan members. How can she help them against the mad scientist trying to destroy them? A quick, entertaining read.

Most would say one kidnapping in a lifetime was more than enough. But I just had to be an overachiever and go for two. Go big or go home, right?
Wrong. If I thought I knew the sorcerer’s power before, I was seriously mistaken. Now that he had what he wanted in is sights, there was nothing, or no one that was going to stand in his way. Even if it meant killing those that had once been his friends.
With a life I had longed for, as well as the people I was growing to care for on the line, I had to figure out how to escape, yet again, and get back to The Zayed before it was too late.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when I picked up Blue Summer: Part One by Everly Taylor, but I knew just from the gorgeous cover I needed to read it and see what adventure awaited me. I am so glad I dove right in. This world that Ms. Taylor created was one that easily transported me and made me feel the magic that she created so effortlessly. I felt as if I was right there with the characters and like the world was very real and tangible. I love when a book can do that for me so this was an instant win in my book. I particularly loved how this was a sweet and easy read with underlying themes of acceptance and character growth for many ages that could enjoy the read. I know my daughters could pick this up and read it in a few years and enjoy it as much as I did now in my thirties. This is one you won’t want to miss out on if you enjoy witty and strong characters with paranormal themes and slight romance undertones. I look forward to seeing what will come in the second part hopefully very soon!
