A Dowry of Snails and Mud by Brittany Tucker – Review by Faith Jackson

A Dowry of Snails and MudA Dowry of Snails and Mud by Brittany Tucker

I just love how these characters are total opposite and not in the way we’re used to in a genre like this. The female isn’t your normal damsel in distress as she knows the lay of the land, literally. The fact that it’s not your normal “fairy tale” makes this an interesting story to keep up with. I don’t want to give too much away but it’s the best story I’ve read in a minute as it kept you guessing but in unexpected ways.

Degrees of Innocence: Dark Mafia Romance (Cruel Deceptions Book 1) By Via Mari – Review by Faith Jackson

Degrees of Innocence (Prestian Series, #1)Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a beautiful book because it tugs at your emotional well-being while taking you on a ride with the characters you feel apart of. You’re torn between fighting how you feel (drawn from the characters and both their sides) or to wish and overcome all of it for a risk at love or more. But it’s not as easy as you’d think. This is only the beginning and I’m down to go down the rabbit hole to see where this leads.

Amaleigha and the Big Idea by Janice Pratt – Review by Faith Jackson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For a kid’s book, I found it inspiring and as a kid’s book, that’s downright surprising. I not only enjoyed the characters but admired Amaleigha the most! Her personality rang true for a lively 5-yea-old and entertained me and my kids upon reading this to them. My 7-yr-old is still acting like her at home and at school: don’t judge me, LOL but it’s so funny.
Witty, funny and downright informative: she reminds me to keep the inner child in me alive and kicking!

This book is unexpectedly beautifully written and the characters are so well-rounded that it makes you feel like a part of the story. It’s a great read and will fill your heart with emotions you never knew you had. I’m gonna recommend you read this if you’ve ever been through something similar and can find insight on how to bounce back. Enjoy!

What makes these books so entertaining for me is the way that the steamy chemistry starts off slow. It’s also steamy that you can feel it as you read each word and as it builds more, it makes you excited for the characters and their intensifying adventures or ways to keep them going. This is a sensational read. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

This book is unexpectedly beautiful and makes for a very inspirational read. This book taught me some lessons that I’m still learning in the outside world: how to show up for myself outside of others. The sense of Christmas made this book that much more pure and beautiful to keep close to your heart. So touching. Great read!

I read this as a standalone because I didn’t know there were other books prior to reading the references within. I’m starting to read the others since I had to catch up and not be in the loop. But this book itself was so beautifully written, I fell in love with the characters, and I absolutely loved the story! I don’t wanna give it away but it was well worth the read and hopefully the others are as well.

My 7-year-old son and I enjoyed this book. It taught him the same things I’ve always preached about hard work, determination, patience and my son loved how it all came together in the end to work out in Moby’s favor! He and my 2-year-old son also enjoyed the pictures. Parents, this book, is worth the read!

I like how it’s not written how you’d think it should be but worth the read. I don’t usually take to short stories but this one was worth the read. I like how it was different another time. Also, zombies aren’t usually my thing but I tolerated them for this short read, LOL. The way the author wrote this was cute and intriguing so kudos, I liked!

Right now, I’m reading so many books but this one made me put the others down. I have a sweet spot for poetry and musicals or music, in general. This book reminded me why I’m a writer (when I have time) because it made you feel raw and intense emotions you’d never thought of or dreamed of. Big thanks to author for taking me to a place I can only imagine to reach as an author! Great work!

You’re about to enter a world you’ll never forget. Full of action, great characters. This book will not only entertain you but will be easy to read.
Read the description for yourself to see what I mean. Bet you won’t regret it!

Fractured Worlds: Courage in the Apocalypse by Courtney Konstantin – Review by Faith Jackson

Fractured World: Courage in the Apocalypse CollectionFractured World: Courage in the Apocalypse Collection by Maira Dawn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start off by saying, I usually don’t like post-apocalyptic dystopian tales but I’m starting to like them more and more. This book is one of the reasons why. The author captured my attention because their heart is in the right place for getting their work out their and for a cause I can support.
That being said, let me dive into the review: These stories take you to another place, somewhere easily imagined with the descriptions provided, it hits a lot of places when you’re reading where you never imagined to go but keeps the human aspect in perspective. I loved how easily it was to take us to another place. It’s entertaining, fun to read, and realistic (at least to me) but full of action and suspense as well. You’ll enjoy this one just like I did.

This story is quite the emotional roller coaster ride but in a good way. It transforms you to another time, another place and allows you to enter what these characters endure from numerous perspectives. Your eyes will open, your heart will open and release but brings clarity to who and how much they’ve endured. Bravo, to the author: Great work!

First, let me say I like that it’s made in the mid-1990s which drew me in alone. Second of all, the action surrounding these partners trying to catch a killer makes your heart race even further but it’s also a connection between the characters as we witness their friendship intensify right before our eyes. The story, the action, the characters: All of this won’t let you put this one down. Get into it!

So many things made this an interactive read that brought the reader into the story. From Eliza being from the Americas, all that’s going on with not only her family but the mystery itself to the flirty nature between she and Heath, this definitely steals your attention with ease. I love the style of writing, the dialogue and of course the action around this mystery. Very fun to read!

As a single mom, I became enamored in this book and the direction it went. I fell instantly in love with both characters. The way their inner thoughts were explored to their interactions and once they finally collided easily where we, as the reader, thought they should be all along, really made it worth the read! This is the type of book to sweep you right off your feet and into the lives of both characters to be a fly on the wall in their story. It was romantic, funny at times, but most of all charming as it teased you with these two falling in love but doing so naturally and innocent. Pretty easy to read and straight to the point. Entertaining till the last page with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. By having read previous works of the author’s I highly recommend this one and many more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just had to give this book a read when I glanced over the summary. Upon reading it, just like the characters, I had strong opinions about the plantation and the story itself until it unraveled in front of my very eyes through the lens of the characters. I surprised not only myself but the author captured different opinions with the way the characters expressed their opinions and stories but I haven’t always been a fan of BWWM and with books like these, I’ve surprisingly grown to love them. They’ve taught me lessons I can’t believe I’m still learning in life through reading about them. This book will have you questioning yourself in not just the story but in the very way everything unravels which makes this just the read to delve into during your downtime like I did.

This book was so unexpected that it blew my top off! There are points I didn’t know what I was reading but the deeper I got into it, the more it made sense. I loved and was instantly drawn to Abbey, the main character rather than the story itself. She alone carried this book. The fact that this is a book you won’t soon forget: get your copy and you won’t be disappointed!
