A delightful children’s book with lessons to be learned. Friendships are built on kindness and respect. This can sometimes be a hard lesson to learn. But this story is a great tool for helping our little ones. Pushing and pinching can hurt, but teaching our children what feels better will be found in this charming series. This author impressed me with this story. I love well written children’s books. This has it all. Including opening a conversation with our children. This is a must have for your childrens bookshelves.

In this book, we go along with Cray as he observes humans having a fun day at the beach. To Cray’s dismay, the humans leave the beach a mess. Cray and his friends get together and with the help of Mer May, they clean the beach. The book’s cute rhymes and beautiful illustrations help teach children about keeping the earth clean and caring for and respecting the animals and environment. This is such an important lesson that is done in a fun way. This is a great book to add to your child’s collection.

This was a great read for my little and I. I love that it rhymed (keeps the kiddo interested) and it had a great teachable lesson, to always be kind or “karma” finds a way to you. All of Cray’s friends were tired of being pinched, but when Cray loses his “pinching” claw, they still showed him kindness and true friendship. The characters are cute and illustrations are great. Will definitely read more from this story line and author.

I read A New Day for Cray with my seven year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. I thought that Cray was adorable and loved the bright illustrations. I am a fan of reading books that rhyme as they often roll right off the tongue. A New Day for Cray was a short, fun way to teach a lesson about kindness.

This is a great chapter book for an adventurous kiddo! Craig is still on the hunt for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, when he uncovers some gold coins. But these coins aren’t just regular coins, they are enchanted and allow Craig to discover the entrance to Nessie’s cave. Interwoven within this mystical book are historical facts about Scotland as well as scientific ones, and let’s face it it wouldn’t be a Lois Wickstrom book if there’s wasn’t a little science mixed in there! Overall this book is fantastic and will keep a young chapter book reader entertained!

This is a cute story filled with colourful illustrations that will capture a child’s attention. Cray the crab is a bully who punches all of his friends. He thinks it is funny but they do not. They don’t like it at all. What happens when Cray loses his pincher? This is a great story to teach young children about bullying in a way that they will understand. It is a fun and easy read.

A Miracle In Muffin: A True Story by Darlene Duemo. This is a lovely true story about a woman and her missing cat. During the search she finds her faith in God answers her prayer and she finds Muffin. This is a very Christian faith based book for kids around the ages of 6-18. I really enjoyed it and I read it to my 5 year old nephew and he enjoyed it. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is as well. Being a Christian I could relate to this book in all the ways but if someone is not I could see how they wouldn’t connect. I think its a important book for kids if their families practice the Christian faith.

I am really enjoying the adventures with Craig and Linda and their mission to save Nessie’s Grotto. I didn’t think they would ever see Nessie again from the last time they were there, their parents seemed really upset with them talking about Nessie constantly, but I am glad they were able to come back. The lesson on earthquakes and seismographs is a great addition to the book, it gives children something to actually learn while reading a fun story. I look forward to their next adventure with Nessie.

Wonderful, wholesome true story by Darlene…A Miracle in Muffin is a Christian children’s book that is for ages 6-18, but I believe you can enjoy this story at any age. Putting faith in God is where Darlene turns when her cat, Muffin, goes missing on a cold night. Through the power of prayer and time, miracles can happen.
This is truly a wonderful story and the illustrations are wonderful…it definitely lifted my spirits up and I recommend this as a must read. Just truly wonderful.

From the moment you start reading, this book has such a wholesome and lovely feel about it. It was a little harder to connect with given how strong the religious focus was, but I think that is more to do with my lack of belief. For anyone who practices this religion, it is a beautifully written story. Religion aside, I still found myself enjoying this story and the journey we get to witness. It is definitely an uplifting book and for that alone I csn easily say I thought it was great.

This is a heartwarming story about a cat that goes missing and his owner’s quest to find it. The illustrations are very beautifully done and follow the story well. I do believe the author’s heart is right in sharing this story, however, I cannot fully recommend it because I do not believe that the Bible teaches this path to redemption. I have never found any passage in the Bible that says if you say this specific prayer you will be saved. What I have read is the accounts of the Ethiopian Eunuch, Cornelius’s family, and others where the Word was heard, the Word was believed, repentance happened, a confession was made, and baptism for the remission of sins took place.

A nice personal testimony of this author being saved and her belief in the Lord. I was worried about the cat, Muffin, the whole book more than anything, I love animals and because Muffin escaped during the cold, my heart was breaking. The way that Muffin was found, brought out the testimony of the owner to her co-workers, which then in turn had them looking into the miracle that is God. The artwork in the book is beautiful and I really liked the background of each page being snowflakes, it gave my eyes more to look at.

The artwork in this book is beautiful. I love that this is a collection of short stories about the different things Sasha faces in school. She labels herself as a “geek” but comes to realize others like the same things she does. I really liked the lesson she learns in bouncing back from a failure and, the many beautiful differences between different cultures. Every scenario is something any young girl could face while in school, the pressures to fit in, not to stand out because they are smart, bullying those who are different and, the pressure to study and study without taking time to be a kid. The vocabulary wall project at the end of the book is an excellent idea for kids to learn and retain new words they are learning. Great read!
This was a really beautiful story of being brought to God in times of trouble. Muffin was the author’s cat. Muffin went missing. This brought about a whole set of actions that led to a miracle. There are beautiful prayers and poems in the book. It’s a very neat story that can be shared with all to help in times of trouble or anguish or to even help bring people to God. It was a definite light in my reading.

Nessie and the Viking Gold is the second book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series. This is a chapter book aimed for children ages 7-12 but I think children of any age will enjoy reading this book. My five year old son loved it so much we’ve read it three times already and I’m there will be many more. Follow along with Craig and Linda and Loch Ness Monster as they take us on another fun and exciting adventure. The illustrations help to bring the story to life and my son loved them. I highly recommend reading this cute children’s book and we look forward to reading more from this Author.

Well once again another great book from this author for kids. I cannot stress how I wish my kids were younger. This author has a very unique way of writing stories that engage kids and teach them valuable lessons. The characters are brought to life and are very relatable to kids. Nessie and the Viking Gold is a children’s chapter book for kids between the ages of 7-12 years of age. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up because my kids and I love reading all of her books so much! We read the first book in this series together, so we were ecstatic to get our hands on the second installment! I thought my youngest (8-year-old) would be just out of range for this one, but he was definitely intrigued throughout the entire book. We also love the Loch Ness monster, and this just solidified our feelings! I enjoyed that the Scottish culture was represented, and the illustrations sprinkled throughout helped make the story come to life. The author does an amazing job keeping us on our toes to see if Nessie will be safe in the grotto or if a crazy rock concert will cause too much disruption. I highly recommend this book to not only the young ones in your life, but also for you!

This is a cute children’s book that teaches them about beach clean-up. Many families were visiting the beach one day and after lunch, the trash had piled very high until a wind gust swirls the trash all over the beach. Cray the crab tried to tell the humans, but no one could hear him. As he walked along the beach, he met some other animal friends who came up with a plan the clean the beach. The human family started to help too and a truck came to pick up the big pile of trash they collected. The book will show children how important beach clean-up is to all the animals living near the ocean.
