What a brilliant follow up to Book 1. This book picks up straight after the first and it felt like a seamless transition from the author. Even though I didn’t read this book immediately the story didn’t lose any momentum. The story still felt original and exciting to read. It felt like the book was really developing all the way through. It was so easy to connect with. This really is a fantastic book and I cannot wait for whatever it next.

This is book one in the War of Destiny series. I was really captivated by this book. It was such a fast paced, gripping story that I read it in 24 hours. I just didn’t want to put it down. The author does an amazing job with the characters and you are transported back to a time when arrange marriages was a thing and people often lived unhappy abusive lives.
Julia is a 15 year old girl. She thinks her life is great and she falls for her childhood friend. However this love isn’t going meant to be as her farther think Adam is below them and refuses to let Julia marry him. Hoping to destroy this budding romance Julia is then placed into an arranged marriage with Gergory. What follows is a story that breaks your heart as Julia is forced to deal with grief, heartbreak over not being with the man she loves and abuse at the hands of her husband She feels like there is no way out. That is until one man offers her it all, a chance to be with the love of her life, freedom from her abusive husband, everything she has dreamed off. However as with most things there is a catch and this catch will change Julia’s life forever.
This story is a great mixture of historical story and paranormal vampire aspect. I can’t wait to see where the story leads.

The third book continues the path of Matt, Julia, Thomas, and Dan. They get ready to find the savior of the world, and prepare for a battle that will change the fate of the world as they know it. All of the characters introduced in book one make more sense on how they tie together in the series. I liked this book, it wasn’t too bad. One of these days I think I might sit down and fully delve into it for a while to try and stick all of the pieces together in a re-read. I wonder what this author has in store for his readers as he continues to write.

I really enjoyed this book! I was able to fall in love with some characters and my disdain for others grew, a perfect balance for a book in my opinion. Their growth and development from the previous two books is great.
After losing the Jaychund Games, Van finds herself and her friends on a mission in Balish territory. Not her ideal placement for the summer unless you consider Van’s would-be boyfriend is the Balish Crown Prince. She and her group must figure out the mystery of the third seal and return home. Not an easy task when trouble seems to lurk around every corner!
So much action and adventure to this book. I look forward to future installments.

Just like book 1, I couldn’t put this one down. Every single page kept me wanting more. Seth’s journey continues to amaze me. Ok, I admit that the author had me at vampires, but I wasn’t prepared for what lay between the interesting, yet somewhat unassuming cover- in a great way. The story took me on a wild emotional ride- and as the first book that I have read from this author, it certainly left me with a taste for more of her work. So, I am happy that there is a series here that I can really sink my teeth into. Lost Soul (War of Destiny Book #1) by Theresa Van Spankeren has all the ingredients needed to keep you enthralled; star-crossed lovers, vampires, an arranged marriage, wonderful atmospheric world building, impending war, a quest for freedom, politics, agendas, dramatic developments, intrigue, interesting characters, and more. I don’t want to spoil anything by revealing too much, as the blurb does a great job of giving you a taste of what to expect without giving too much away. I think this is one of those stories that you should dive into a little ‘blind’ and let the author and the story surprise you. If you love an original take on a vampire story, the paranormal, emotion, and intrigue- then this is definitely a book you will want to get your hands on asap. An interesting tale of a girl who becomes a woman amidst treacherous family and horrible misdeeds. Married off by her father at the tender age of 15, she is destroyed when she cannot be with the boy she loves, and must marry a man she knows nothing about. The marriage does not go well, and Julia is forced to realize how few people she can actually count on. When a solution arrives that can take her away from her troubles, she must decide what she can live with, and live without.
Julia’s transformation in this novel is interesting and complex. I enjoyed seeing her come into her own, and figure out how to gain the strength and independence that she needed. I found the writing a bit angsty in places, more emotionally fraught than I prefer. However, the story and characters were sound, and the plot moved along nicely. A good read.

As this, the second book in the series, picks up right where the first one left off, we find Seth in a struggle between his love for Miriam and his love for his dying sister. He feels likes he has to choose one or the other and that there isn’t an option to have both. Will he make the right choice or betray the love that could last a lifetime? In the meantime, Peter- Miriam’s brother, finds himself thrust into his Nature and ends up playing a vital role in the continued struggle with the Joneses. Will it be enough to stem the tide of the Joneses advances?
I am thoroughly enjoying this series! I love the author’s take on the Garden of Eden and its protectors. Her character’s struggles with each other in how they relate (parents to kids, kids to kids…) is very relatable. In this book there is a lot of forgiveness going on and what it looks like to forgive someone who has wronged you or a loved one. Admittedly, there were several chapters in this book that I became teary eyed!
I look forward to the third book! I need to know how everything goes!

A long-awaited book 2 is finally here! We catch up with the Edenians right where book 1 left off, where Seth is desperately hoping for a cure for his dying sister Lillian. He struggles to make a choice between betraying the girl he loves, and saving his little sister from certain death. You can really feel how this choice weighs on him, as he tries to be a man and protect the people he loves. I felt so much compassion for him and his struggles, and the cascading effects that his unfortunate decision creates. Lots of action in this book, it is definitely a page-turner. Pocock is fantastic at hooking in the reader, and creating realistic, layered, interesting characters to root for (or loathe!)
Definitely read Book 1 first – it’s well worth it and a great read. It had been several months for me between books, and it took me a bit to reorient myself to the characters and plot from Guardians of the Garden.

The is quite the story! Filled with action, suspense and intrigue. The characters have depth and continue to grow through the story. This author has a great imagination! I love this world she created and the phenomenal creatures. Its almost future world meets past. I just never really knew what is going to happen from page to page.
This is the third in the series. I highly recommend starting at the beginning. I look forward to more adventures from this crew and this author.

This is an excellent book that sucks you in right from the start and just keeps you right until the end. A tale of trying to do the right thing and making the right choices. The story is very detail oriented and character directed. I loved the way that the story develops and the plot has a few twists. The author did an excellent job of keeping the story engaging and driven. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I would highly recommend to other sci fi/fantasy lovers.

Seth is well known for his work he’s know of thier past and who they tried to swindle and what’s they done. So he made a deal before he met Miraim his life has changed since then. There alot of internal struggles amongst the Garudains in this action packed exhilarating adventure. Great read.

A story about True love that is Fairy Tale as well? That is right up my alley! This was a wonderful and beautiful read. i really fell in love with the concept of the story and the characters over and over again. The story had its own enrichment, but truly shows how we can prove how deep a love for someone goes.
I loved how Cathal and Eala were truly a symbol for what true love is suppose to be. Everything seems against them, literally constantly, but they want to again and again define those odds. And not give up. They want to be together, and get what they both want, and that is to be by one another’s side. To me, it would have been easier to give up than to fight to be together. They didn’t care about dangers they faced. I loved that aspect of this story, and it really moved me. I loved the fine details as well of this story, it was very visual and beautiful to me. I loved how each character was different than the rest, the side characters had their own definitions of themselves as well. I really had a great time reading this book, and enjoyed this book, I really loved it for all it was. Amazing read!
Highly recommend this book to everyone. I was really moved and touched by this boo. It was powerful and beautiful, and I could not get enough. I am a first time reader for this author as well, but this certainly will not be my last adventure. High recommendation from me for this book and author!

A great mystery that will keep you guessing. Once you get started it’s hard to stop. The author did a great job both with the characters and the mystery. Loved it.
This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was hooked! The way that the story is written, has completely captured my attention and left me wanting more. It is clear that the main character, Julia, is having problems with authority figures telling her what she will do and who she will hang out with. When she is forced into a marriage that she does not want and unforeseen circumstance happens, Julia is finally given the option of having control of her life for the first time and takes hold of it. I have not read a book as fast as I did for this story in such a long time. I cannot wait to read more series in this book as well as more stories by the author!

This is the second book in the Guardians of the Garden series. I would really recommend reading the books from the beginning to help you appreciate the characters even more. This is a great fantasy adventure. There is romance, secrets, betrayal and a battle between doing what’s right and doing what’s wrong.
We are back with Seth. Seth is secretly working with the Joneses to get access to Edenia. He is doing this to get help for his very ill sister. However this time the payment they want is in the form of Miriam. Seth had finally found a connection with someone and now he has to choose to betrayal her to save his sister or let his sister suffer with her illness. Fighting a constant battle between his heart and his head Seth is set on a path which may end up destroying him. Miriam has never left Edenia. She is finally finding she had a place and a voice in this town now. However her attraction and connection with Seth makes her trust him completely. She never thinks he would betray her to her enemy. With Seth fighting this battle will Miriam be able to help him or will she lose him? With her beliefs being shaken about the masters and his plan for her we find Miriam starting to rebel and follow her heart instead of her instincts.
The author does an amazing job of giving the characters their own identities and story’s but somehow skillfully wrapping them and joining them together to make a story full of twists and turns which will grip you from the beginning.

This is one dark paranormal, fantasy story you are going to love. It is a unique tale that is full of emotions and action, twist and turns. The characters are well written and well developed. The world building is skilfully built and carefully crafted. With a plot that is fast-paced and is gripping and engaging, you will not want to put this book down. The vividness allows us as a reader to enjoy every nuance of this authors storytelling. It does start out a bit slow but that is because the author is building the foundation for this layered and exciting tale. What would you do for the price of freedom?

Book 2 of The Traveler was just as great as book 1 if not better. The author has told this story in such a way that the characters emotional journey is your own. This book takes us more in depth as well as gives more insight about Harry and this next cycle of his life. This book was very heartfelt, emotional, and addicting from page 1. The Traveler shares life lessons and experiences many times over.

I fell in love with this twist of several fairy tales. Cathal and Eala are just wanting to live a life together. He’s a prince and she’s trapped (and did I mention Queen of the Swans) in a cage. Well-written and engaging, the characters in this story will either win you over or you will hate them. You’ll find yourself rooting for our couple to get through their challenges. The characters in the story are described so well that you feel like you could know them. Like every fairy tale, your emotions will go up and down as the tale progresses. Loved it. This was a first time author for me, but this book was a powerful read for me, and one I could not simply get enough from. I loved the lay out of the story, the characters, the plot twists and turns, and was simply on the edge of my seat swept away in all things that happened through out this delightful book!
I loved the fantasy and paranormal mix that crafted this story. It was different, but certainly in a good way. It made me think, at what dues would we pay to have a life we want? That was something the character Julia was faced with. Basically live the truest form of her life at a cost, or lost it all to something that was no even close to what she would define as happy. I loved the plot twists that developed after her decision. key the thoughts of all magic come with a price, and this story made that to be true. The story was very visual for the reader as well, very easy to get lost into the details and envision you are in the world in which the book takes place. The book was amazing, and so was this author! I can not wait for the next in the series, I need more, kind of right now sort of thing! Amazing read!
Amazing and really good read. It was a book I could not put down. This author is a must read as well. I will very much enjoy reading more by them. I can not wait for the next in the series, as I have said. The book was a powerful read that developed oh so well! Perfect read! Highly recommend!

The Traveler is an ancient being, who has taken numerous forms to gain power and more experience.
Seeing as this is the second book, I don’t want to give anything away. I didn’t read the first one but I definitely will now to help fill in the gaps though I was too confused or lost while reading this novel.
This was more emotional than I expected with a title called ‘The Traveler’. I will admit while reading I kept thinking of Doctor Who.
I don’t know if there will be another novel in the series or not. I hope so we can read more about the The Traveler’s experiences.
