I fell in love with the various voices of the actor. He did a fabulous job making this audiobook relaistic and knowing when a different character was speaking. That makes an audiobook 100% better because of the performance. The book was packed with adventure, thrill, and passion. The twists and turns in the storyline kept me listening for hours. I just couldn’t stop. There is something happening in every single chapter. I never thought it would turn out the way it did. I can’t wait for book 2!

I really enjoyed reading this one. Between the characters, the use of magic and the world in which it transported me to… I can’t decide what I enjoyed more. But I am leaning more toward the amazing world building of this story… it felt real. Ian Troy, a Shinree, addicted to his magic he is born to fight in a longstanding war, and goes against orders and uses the Crown of Stone to end the war. It comes with a huge price tag and destroyed lives. He casts himself into exile for 10 years and even though he refrains from using magic, he turns to wine to help with that addiction. I enjoyed his character and his development over the course of the book. Excided to get book 2 to continue with this tale.

Just like we all learned from Once Upon A Time, all magic comes with a price. With the main character of this story, he truly had a price to pay with the crown stone he came upon and used in anger 10 years past. He now has to help his people as well as the citizens for magic is beyond the horizon about to be used for evil. There are many dramas with family, enemies, friends, and mutual acquaintances, and every single one is great to listen to. If you like reading about magic, try this one out!

C.L. Schneider did an amazing job spinning this tale! Book one in the series and she had me HOOKED. A more modern take on the magic fantasy but with such an amazing plot and characters. I loved reading this book and couldn’t put it down. I felt like I was actually there with the descriptive way she explained places and I loved the little escape this book brought for me! So well thought out! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for this style of book and can’t wait to read the rest of them!

I couldn’t put it down, well other than when I had to go to work. This book was incredible and so entertaining to read. it really sucked me in to know what was going to happen next. A sword and a girl that gets into some trouble, and trying to get out of it, with a sword that just wouldn’t leave her alone. Getting into mischief that she does really showed her thou who her friends were and who she could trust. I love reading books on different views to with the supernatural type, like who some write that you can see a vampire in a mirror, and in this particular book she wrote her own little twist with vampires that I found interesting. I love how all the characters have a very strong bond with each other, and how much they care for one another. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting. An otherworldly force crashes to earth and infects people with abilities. These abilities had its perks but it comes with a price. There are different abilities. As with everything the government doesn’t like it’s people having more power than it. It supposedly seeks to understand it. But they have ulterior motives.
An morally conscious FBI agent, who follows laws to a T. Goes undercover to infiltrate a crew of these affected people. He has his own reasons for doing so. His target, a woman who doesn’t even want her powers, Lee, is fighting for her life and future. Her ability puts an early death sentence on her head and all she’s looking for is a cure. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has their own personal mission. Can anyone trust those around them? While the characters are navigating personal issues, Lee is contacted and charged with their biggest heist yet. Can she convince her crew to help? Is the payout worth the cost?
The story kept me invested. I finished it pretty quickly. Definitely a page turner. I thought the story was quite creative and original. The characters were enjoyable. You love some of them and you hate others. The only issue I had was that there was a point where an important character kinda disappears. And the other characters seem hardly affected by it at all. I guess it kinda insinuated he was leaving but it felt more like a blowing off steam type of leave rather than a permanent leave. It just didn’t plot well to me. Other than that it was great. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves supernatural and/or fantasy novels.

This book was a lot of fun to read. Lee’s ability to go into the “liminal” realm was different to what I generally come across. There was a lot of action and was not dull. I love a good female lead.

This book started like it was going to be a fast paced adventure novel then kinda slow down to a crawl for a while. However I am glad I stuck with it. The way the author treats magic is so different from other fantasy novels I have read. The world created is definitely worth learning about. Each character is very well detailed and is very involved throughout the whole of the story. I would definitely like to read book two. The only draw back was one of the main characters, Ian, was a bit of a woah is me kinda guy and that doesn’t make for a really great hero. All in all though definitely worth the read.

I could not put this book down! As always I’m starting backwards, but I am very eager to read the books 1-4 and play catch up. We encounter magic, witches, deception, and the age old dilemma of good versus evil.
This book guides us through the dark and the light. Isra who has given herself to the dark side is now preparing herself for the battle at hand. There are many critical forces at play, and Isra is a crucial part of it all. As we watch the story unfold it will be many twists you did not see coming

I just must say this was a freaking good read! I had a lot of fun reading this one. There was the right balance of drama and action, and the author really knew how to draw you into the story, with ease! It was very well written and the characters were wonderful with all of their traits!
The set of the characters and talk of powers was very much impossible not to fall in love with all that was contained within this amazing book. The book takes flight at a nice steady pace and keeps you reading till the final word on the final page, I could not put this one down! I found this book made me think of choices with the real world, every decision we make, will we pay for it at a later date?
Lee was wonderful. She was a character that was not mind quested with her power, more less, more reluctant to use them or even have them. this all made her very interesting as a character. I became invested with her and her surrounding characters. There was a lot of action and danger, tender moments as well. I did not what would happen as I turned every page. I enjoyed this book so much and I shall most defiantly be picking up the next in the series! I need more of this series, it was so good!
Vey good read and I do highly recommend this book as well as the series that pretrains to it I believe that goes without saying so. I had a lot of fun reading this book, and the author is amazing, and I think this is one not to be passed up, but more rather enjoyed to your full heart’s content!

Magical possibilities This is my first book by this author. The storyline and writing style were good. I connected quickly with the characters and the different aspects of magic. The idea behind the Liminal Realm was intriguing. The story ebbed in parts and flowed quickly in others but overall was an enjoyable read.

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds series by Bree Moore. It is a fantastic urban fantasy with an intriguing and highly original plot, wonderful world building, adventure, magic, the paranormal, mystery, danger, action, emotion, agendas, heists, high stakes, a touch of romance, different realms, and an intense race against time with life on the line. I was really excited to read this story as the blurb sold me on the book in just the first few sentences. I set off on this adventure with high expectations- and the author didn’t disappoint! Her writing is so wonderfully detailed and descriptive- the story was so easy to visualise- coming to life before my eyes. It is quite original with quirky/interesting characters that definitely added an extra element of intrigue to the storyline. This would make a really great movie or television series!!! There is no way I am missing an instalment of this series- I will be following it through to the end. And I have found another author to add to my must read list! Happy reading!

Kissing Darkness what is there to say? I think I’m really confused and I feel it’s because I missed things by not reading books 1-4, since this is book 5 in the series. So as appealing as this book may sound, I feel like one might need to read 1-4 to not be as confused as I. Character development was strong though, which was quite refreshing. Isra living a life that has continually left her down, betrayed, taken for granted, has turned from the light. A decision Samuel is trying to redirect from darkness to light. Of course that’s prompted once he finds out she has a mortal enemy. Did I forget to mention that Isra is a witch and was going to a school for Warlocks and Witches. Everilda was once friends with Isra, now she has no powers and she wants retribution against Isra for it. Even though she’s the one who betrayed her friend. I was intrigued when I stumbled across this book, but I feel as wonderful a world these characters grow, develop, and live in. I would’ve had a better understanding reading this book if I read 1-4. So now I stress reading them all the best advice I can give. I’m going to start again but by reading books 1-4 first.

I love Urban Fantasy and was intrigued by the idea of a sentient sword so I decided to give this story a try. There are a lot of things to love about it. The characters are interesting. The meat of the story is great. And, of course, the magic and paranormal aspects we love are plentiful. However, I found that there was a bit too much extraneous world building. It felt like I was getting lost in a lot of minor details that slowed down the story quite a bit. That being said, if you are a person who loves intricate worldbuilding, you’ll probably love that part of it. Overall, I’d say the heart of the story was good, but I definitely will have to be in the right headspace to keep going with the series since the superfluous world building is distracting to me.

This author is new to me but her urban fantasy world building is carefully and cleverly woven. It is a dark paranormal urban fantasy tale that is interesting and the plot was intriguing. The story was unpredictable and the plot that flows and kept me stuck to the pages throughout. The narrative is well written and the author’s writing style makes it so easy to imagine what she has crafted. With magic and dangers, emotions, conspiracy, and action and so much more in between. It’s quirky, a little unusual and a wonderful adventure as well as a slow burn romance. This is my first time reading this author but she did a great job pulling me into this urban fantasy. While this is my first time reading this author it will not be my last she pulled me in with her creative, unique characters, her plot line was full of intricate details, and everything together made the story very fast paced and easy to get lost in. Lee is our main character and boy oh boy does she do a phenomenal job. She is a fantastic strong and lovable main character that really pulls the whole story together. Sam and Risa were also vital to this story, and personally I can’t wait for the next installment to see why Lee and the gang get into next.

This was a very intriguing fantasy story. I loved the twists in the story. What a well-written story. The characters are well-written. The story sucks you in from the beginning and holds you until the end. I can’t tell you much more. You truly have to experience this story. It’s worth the purchase. You’ll love it as much as I did. Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds Series. This is a wonderfully written Paranormal/Fantasy that pulled me in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. There was a couple times while reading i got a bit lost but it wasn’t for long. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. I’m a fan already and her style of writing and attention to detail simply wonderful. Her characters are very relatable and fully developed. I could very vividly picture what was going on. If you could have any Magic power what would it be? For me it would be to be invisible, that way I can always know what is going on and so much more. I’m afraid I’m going to accidentally give a spoiler so I’m just going to say this. I highly recommend reading this book its fast paced and packed with action, magic and much more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series .

With power emanating from the Crown, Ian gives in and cast a spell to end the war. Unfortunately, all magic comes with a price and the price was steep.
Ten years later, Ian still struggles day to day with what he had done years prior, refusing to acknowledge magic and drowning his sorrows. One day he is visited by what seems to be another Shinree and that day he so long to forgets, seems to be coming back. Addiction once again resurfacing.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The author was very detail oriented. It was as if I was in the world myself. Pack filled with action, you will not regret this adventure.

This was an amazing book. I couldn’t put it down and finished it a day. The plot and story line of this book was incredible and flowed all the way thou. the way the characters solved the issues and worked them for so amazing, that you couldn’t not want to like them. Lee is an amazing and incredible lead character, she tries to do everything on her own, and to solve her own problems, and doesn’t like to ask for help, which doesn’t always work out for her, and she ends up in some really sticky situations. Magic, demons, death, artifacts, and the FBI is all rolled into one. Loved reading this book so much, and really can’t wait to read more.

This book was awesome! Lee’s story is exciting and sad and left me on the edge of my seat! Great twists and turns and the plot was so well thought out! I really enjoyed reading this and think it would be great for anyone into supernatural stories! The author has an easy to read writing style that really sold the tale to me! This is a great story that right from the start pulls you in. I thought the whole book was really well written and had a really i Interesting storyline. This is the first book I have read by this author and I thought it were a great introduction. Her writing style really caught my attention and she knew how to engage the reader. At first I were a little lost over some of the concepts but soon found it all really easy to understand. The story was backed up by great characters and it is all round brilliant to read. I am looking forward to the next book.

This was a heck of an adventure. I felt like I was on a roller coaster going between realms. I often found myself wondering what it would be like to travel between realms like they did to take things. Sounds like a bit of an adrenaline rush. It is an entertaining plot that did a very nice job of grabbing my hand and dragging me into the story. I didn’t want to leave. You just want to keep going to find out what the next page brings. The characters are well written and very relatable. You can empathize with their struggles. I loved the story and hope to read more of this series. Get out there and buy this story too. You’ll want to read it. I guarantee it. Highly recommend.

A fascinating five-star read. This is number one in the Shadowed Minds series, and I need number two right now!! This has great story lines and characters that will pull you in and keep you wanting to know more about them. There were points I could have done with extra, but overall, very well done. I really enjoyed this Urban Fantasy story. The author does an amazing job of making fantasy seem like it could be reality. The story is fast paced and gripping from the beginning. The main character Lee, is a strong resilient woman who isn’t afraid to fight for what she wants no matter the danger or the cost.
Lee is a thief. But a thief with magic powers which means she can move around unseen and unheard. As useful as this skill is it takes a toll on her life and wellbeing. Lee is determined to go back to the source of her power to ask them to remove it to hopefully save her life. She would rather have no powers than the power that is killing her every time she uses it.
But things are now a race against time. Lee needs to put her plan in place, while not letting her crew know her plan to leave. Add to this the increasing threat of an FBI agent who can travel the same way Lee can and the race just gets worse. Lee’s race becomes even more a race against time. Will she end up captured by the FBI or will she end up dead from the magic she sees as a curse?

Having magic powers is great… until it isn’t. Lee is on a quest to cure what ails her and it’s an intriguing adventure filled with thievery, danger, betrayal, conspiracy, and secrets. When I picked up this book, I expected to fall in love with it. I’m not going to lie, it took me some time to really dig into. Once I got through the copious depiction, I fell in love. This novel reminded me of A Game of Thrones. The amount of detail in the characters and world-building really made this book come to life.
I would recommend this book to any fantasy lover and those that crave the thorough detail and explanations. It is not necessarily a quick read until you get to the heart and sole of the action. If you can make it through that, I can assure you that you will want to pick it up and read it again and again and again.

This is the first fantasy book in this series for this author which I enjoyed and can’t wait to see what happens in the second book. This is a new author for me which I enjoy her writing style and her attention to details. I was pulled into the story from the beginning by the creative, unique characters. They kept the story engaging and fast paced. Lee is someone who has been able to not only enter the realm but also influence it without being seen or heard. It becomes a race against time that could leave her arrested or even dead. Every time she uses her magic, a piece of her falls apart. What happens next with her, you will need to read to find out. She is a great, strong character that brought the story life for me. I enjoyed the plot growth as well as the character growth throughout the story. I really enjoyed the adventure Lee and the others along the way took me on. I highly recommend this book.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds Book 1) by Bree Moore – Review by Allyson Ware
This novel took me on a rollercoaster of magic ride. You’ve heard of a magic carpet ride, but the thrill is nothing compared to this. I never would have been able to guess the outcome of this book based on the first few chapters. I loved everything about it: The characters, the plot, the world development.
I do have to say, Lee easily became my favorite character. I normally root for the underdogs in the book, which I would have considered Risa or Sam, but Lee was too loveable. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Sam and Risa but there is something special about Lee that I cannot see past. I would not be at all disappointed if the author decided to write a sequel; I would be the first in line for it.

WoW! I read this as a book but listening to it narrated to it to a whole new level. The narration was phenomenal. The narrators had the attitudes of the characters down to a t. They were just as I had imagined them. I felt that the characters were even more relatable hearing them performed. The author has such a way of writing that her books are guaranteed to be full of sass, spunk and adventure. Not normally a fantasy fan, I have become one with this author, I will be reading more of this series, hopefully listening. The story was fun and full of adventure. The descriptions kept me going and rolling with chuckling laughter and “ew”. I recommend this story for just flat out anyone looking for a good adventure. You’ll love it.
