What actually happened to Issac Moore is a really good question. In this incredibly smooth, well written, fantastical adventure novel we are left wondering just that. This was my first book by this author and I was taken aback by the creativity and imagination it took to weave together a story of this caliber. I did read the excerpt of the story and acknowledged many of the fantastical elements like giant worms, flowers with eyes, battles with air dragons, enslaving vines, and being brought back to life after a brain bleed, but I was still unprepared for what this book actually contained. I believe this is the best way to go into this book because I don’t think you can ever really prepare for Issacs journey. He really just wants a good nights sleep and some good food but he is thrown into a whole other world. This is an intriguing, wild, enjoyable read.

This curious tale, was definitely one of the more interesting ones that I have read this year. The author crafts her tale in such a way that you never know what’s coming next, and you just simply can’t stop reading. There are parts that will break your heart and others that will warm them. While you will laugh plenty you might also want a box of tissues, needless to say this book was an amazing roller coaster ride. But over all this book was amazing and I will personally be looking for more from this author.

Fantastic writing, great storytelling and a real gem of a book!

The main character, Soraya is a well rounded character who has yet to tap into her full potential. In this book she heads up the investigation into the killing of the Elders. She finds herself in a pickle when using her new found leadership skills while dealing with the Circle, only to find an antagonist is waiting to try their hand at leadership.

The need to unite together may take some convincing but can they survive without it!? The power struggle is real and creates a lot of drama and action in this book which is fitting for the finale of this trilogy.

I think readers will become true fans after reading this book, no matter if they’ve read the previous titles in this trilogy. The author’s brilliant talent shines throughout this story.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book, I did not realize it was the 3rd book of a series but I was still able to follow the story line! The way Brenda Hardwick pulls you into the story with emotion, connections to the ancestors and how magic is not the easy way out but does have consequences. I really enjoyed reading about Miss. Soraya and the other witches who all had unique powers and had their own apprentices to teach. They really felt like a family; they worked at doing what was best and to protect their family throughout the book.
The plot revolves around an enemy that wants to remove their circle for good. Hard decisions are made and they can be felt by everyone in the end. This book pulls you in and takes you for an exhilarating ride!! I very much enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books by Brenda Hardwick!

I didn’t realize this was book three until I had already read a few chapters. With that being said I was still able to get the concept of the stories. I thought it was an interesting read. I enjoyed the magic and use of ancestor and elders. It is such a common thing for black people to refer to our ancestors.

The main villain Shawn, was very well written. His pride and need for revenge got in his way. He was extremely self-serving and no one mattered but himself. And he even hated hisself because of his lineage. I plan on going back to read the first two installments. This was a good read and I recommend it to anyone looking for an ethnic fantasy novel.

This is quite an interesting book. I read this one without reading the first two books in the series so there was a bit of confusion for me on backstories and such. However, I do plan to go back and read the first two books, then this one again, for the proper context.

This book focuses on Soraya who is now in charge of leading The Circle. She finds herself in various predicaments having to go and save people, replace those lost, and strengthen the ones that she has. There is a lot of mischievousness going on with magic, a good vs evil point of view, removing people from the land due to the color of their skin, broken relationships, and so on. Not much different than what we see today (minus the magic).

The characters are very engaging and you’ll find yourself as a character in this story as well possibly. It’s hard to put down this read but, as previously mentioned, it would be beneficial to read the previous books first.

Wow, what a crazy ride. I am left speechless at the imagination and creativity it took to write this book. There were a couple of times where I got lost but found my way back into the story. Elise, at first I couldn’t stand her, she seemed like a terrible person and very manipulative and sneaky but, she really was just trying to find her way home. It was fun for me to find out how Elise knew Isaac for as long as she did, the many different instances in his life she was there for. There are many different characters along this ride, and at one point I thought Isaac was going to ditch them and go back to his normal life but, he doesn’t and I think I would honestly rather be on a crazy adventure too. Isaac and Sister Maria’s relationship just seems volatile and I wouldn’t mind hearing more about their time together. Again very imaginative book and definite recommendation.

I decided to read this book based on the title, expecting it to be some mystery to unravel. This book was nothing at all like I expected it would be but it is so much better. I was captivated by the story and the way it unfolded. The author really created something that is interesting and attention
grabbing. I really enjoyed watching how things developed.
I have read a couple of books by this author now and I can definitely say she is one I enjoy. This book has to be my favourite so far but I am looking forward to discovering more.

What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore by Samantha J. Rose is and intriguing and thought-provoking read. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this story, but the blurb made me curious to find out more. So I snapped up a copy and set off to explore.
I really don’t know how to explain this story without accidently giving too much away and spoiling it for you. I really think that you would be better off diving in blind and letting the author and story sweep you up in the crazy adventure- and surprise you, in a good way.
It’s fantasy meets adventure, with action, mystery, magic, zany/quirky characters, paranormal elements, humour, dramatic developments, emotion, and a bit of a mystical feel.

Dragon pets The Sacrifice by R.L.S Hoff

3 out of 5 stars.

I thought this was a steady, enjoyable read. Easy to escape within, not too heavy of a plot but a nice balance. I really enjoyed watching Rilla and the dragon form a friendship and Rilla’s growth throughout the story.

She definitely finds her independence and gains some much needed confidence by the end of the book.

Overall, a good read perfect for younger audiences.

This book took me a bit to get into. At first I was a little confused on what was going on, but as the story progressed, the more I couldn’t put it down. It’s a beautiful book of overcoming the past, and letting old wounds heal and to stop letting the past mistakes rule your life. I absolutely loved this book, it’s a perfect gothic horror with a gorgeous ending. I can’t recommend this book enough!

Samantha has crafted a curious tale with What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore. Nothing can prepare you for this. Even Isaac himself cannot believe the world in which he finds himself. Is it even real? Is this what happens in the afterlife? Is it even the afterlife? It is certainly not what he thought it would be if that is the case.
Imagine being thrown, quite literally into a crazy world that resembles story books with different worlds and the most unusual of creatures and beings. With clairvoyants and shapeshifters, rivers from childhood, Fairies and giant worms (gulp), dragons and fighting mean little old men, and so much more it will keep you engaged and wondering what poor Isaac has gotten himself involved in.
This quirky adventure is full of heartache at times and is heart-warming in the next. There is tragedy yet there is humour. There is laughter to be had and the need for tissues in the next moment. Samantha certainly keeps you on your toes.
Isaac has seen a lot in his life but this warped world is not reality. It couldn’t be, right? or is it? Does this the end of dinners with mashed potatoes?

What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore by Samantha J. Rose was my first book by this author, and wow, does she have an amazing imagination for storytelling. The world that she has weaved with this expansive story and the unique characters was phenomenally crafted. From the first page, I was already so invested and curious about where this magical story was going to lead me to, and I was not at any point disappointed! This story unfolded into such a beautiful and emotional adventure that left me feeling all the feelings. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone, despite book genre preferences. Read it!

~Gothic, Dark, Fairy Tale Rendition~

In a lot of ways this didn’t feel like a fairy tale. The writer does an amazing job of taking a fantastical idea and making the metaphor come to life. This felt honestly more like a biography of the women in Seuno, NM and what they have to deal with in order to stay alive. In a lot of ways, just being alive really isn’t enough.

This is such an empowering novel as well. It’s not just fluff and all of the happy endings we expect to see as readers in order to feel empowered. Maria DeBlassie includes the hardship, heartaches, and very real scenes of a young woman growing up in hardship, and what that looks like. Any young woman would do well to read this, because no matter what backgrounds we come from, we all have our own La Llorona’s we have to face in order to enter womanhood.

I will be purchasing a hardcopy of this for sure, and I am so excited to share with other female readers this haunting tale. Mercy’s journey to rebirth includes the grit we all honestly need to chase after our dreams, to never stop looking our demons in the eye and going ahead to live the lives we want to, in spite of them.

I found this book to be quite entertaining. There were adventures that left you feeling all the emotions. I found myself laughing, crying, etc. Each chapter brought a new tale. I thought the story line was quite enthralling. I know it grabbed my attention from the beginning. The characters were just that. Some big personalities in this book. I really enjoyed the book and I would recommend it to others also.

This book is a brilliant continuation of the story and a great way to conclude the series. I read the books a little out of order, reading this one first before going back to read the others. I would recommend reading them in order as I think you will get more enjoyment out of reading them however, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I loved the characters in this story and how it was told from more than one perspective. I think that added so much to the book and created a better story. I thought the storyline was really interesting. It was easy to engage with, even if you started with this book, and exciting from start to finish. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more of this authors work.

Freedom Rings is the third, and final, book in The Circle Trilogy by Brenda Hardwick. This book follows on from the developments in the previous books, so my advice would be that if you have yet to read the other books, to do so before starting on this one, as there is important backstory, character details, and other pertinent information that you should have on board to prevent any confusion- and enhance your reading experience of this book, and series as a whole.
This is a bit of a supernatural thriller, with a dream-walker mc, fantasy, interesting paranormal elements, magic, danger, drama, agendas, fear, self-doubt, murder, a sadistic villain, good vs evil, bigotry, intrigue, mystery, overcoming obstacles, and more.
Soraya will be tested like never before. Secrets will be revealed, friendships and loyalties broken, and lives will be put on the line. What happens makes for an intriguing read.
I wonder what Ms. Hardwick has in store for us next?

Freedom Rings by Brenda Hardwick sees a continuation of Soraya’s story, but it is also the last book in the Trilogy. Brenda writes stories that are unique which makes them refreshing reads.
Using her newfound powers, knowledge Soraya hopes for a better future. A future that is stronger and able to withstand the enemy. For without a united front all could be lost. Unfortunately, others believe they must be destroyed for them to unleash something that will change who you are.
It is fast paced and has everything to hold you drawn to the story. With evil vs good, suspicion and hatred, desperation and lies, ambition and power. Where friends become foes and secrets are revealed. Where sacrifice and hope will be tested. Where the suspense is palpable.
I like that we see much more into a person’s character and who they truly are as the story is told in multiple POV’s which is my preferred way of having a story told.

This is a spellbinding story that will capture you from the beginning. It is book 3 of the series. I came in at this part of the series and I have to say that I will be going back to read books 1 & 2. The characters really grab you and twist you into their world with the exciting plot going on. There is constant action going on, which is something I love in a story. It is truly a story that you should take a look at.

This is the 3rd book in The Circle Trilogy. I do really recommend reading all these books in order. I didnt read the first two so I got a bit lost in the stories and the overall understanding of the stories and the characters. That being said I will definately be going back to read them in order because this book was great. The author’s attention to detail with world and character building really brings the story to life. There is magic, and danger and a sense of good verses evil as two forces are fighting against each other. The Magical side are just trying to survive and have the right to life their lives in peace where as Shawn and his company are trying to rid the world of people that are different to them in all ways including skin colour.

This is an explosive story touching on many aspects of modern day life, with friendships turning into betrayal, someone set on destroying another person because of the colour of the skin and a group of peoples fight for survival. Its beautifully written and gripping and i can’t wait to read the Trilogy from the start.

My kids love this author, she always has them thinking, using their imagination in one way or the other. They learned to treat everything fairly. Wonderful story, their favorite part was the pictures and trying to guess what would happen next in the story based off of them, they never got it right, but it was fun (as mom) to see the wheels turning and them thinking up different things.
