FLOWERS IN DECEMBER TRILOGY: Flowers in December, Coming Home, Second Chance by Jane Suen – Review by Sara Oxton

FLOWERS IN DECEMBER TRILOGYFLOWERS IN DECEMBER TRILOGY by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flowers in December Trilogy compelling and heartfelt trilogy.
Flowers In December a read that will move you. This is a heartfelt and compelling read about love, loss and grief and depending on your relationship with your own parents depending on how much you will get out of this book as we get to hear the story of Connor Norton a young man who goes on a surprising journey of self-discovery. The only fault I found with this was that I could have read so man more pages. Each of the character had their own part of the story to tell, even the tom cat had his part to play. Just like the other works I have read by this author a very enjoyable read overall.
Coming Home a read that will welcome you home. This a great story that even though has elements of Christmas it doesn’t need to read at that time of year. This is such a powerful story and deals with matters that not all find easy to read, the way the author manages to deal with it so gracefully in such a short number of pages will surprise you.
Second Chance a read that will bring flowers to your life. The emotions you will see in this story are so strong that they are palpable, you can almost taste the emotion. This is a compelling story and shows us what a truly amazing writer Jane Suen is.

Rockin’ It Home: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Sara Oxton

Rockin' It Home (Lawson Family #3)Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly a rockin’ five-star read. This is number three in the Lawson Family Series and they can be read as stand-alone, but they do tell the story of the Lawson family and I have loved learning about the family as I have read them all. Ben Lawson, what a character, what a rocker, he really does push all the buttons. His daughter is adorable, and you can see the love he has for her shining off the page. When Danielle steps in the sparks fly, but should they? You will need to read to find out, go pick up some Lawson family drama as you won’t be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rockin’ It Home (Lawson Family Series #3) by Tracey Cramer- Kelly. We finally get Ben‘s book. I feel like I have waited forever to read his story.

All Ben wants is to play his music and have his daughter in his life. He is a recovering alcoholic so instead of drinking after performing, he takes up with women. When his label brings in an assistant, Danielle, she is prepared to do whatever it takes to do a good job. Can they both keep their feelings out of it or will things get more complicated than they already are?

I absolutely loved not only this book but this entire series!!! I can not wait to see what we will be getting next!!

Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Angela Hayes

Imposter (Ash Park, #7)Imposter by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imposter is the seventh book in the gripping Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. Ms. O’Flynn’s ability to spin an intense thriller never ceases to amaze me- the series is an intricately woven and thrilling showcase of her writing skills. I have read each book, believing that there would be no way for her to top the previous book/s- but she ups the ante each time as her stories just seem to get better and better as the series evolves. I have said this many times, but the amount of tension, suspense, and clever twists that she is able to create in her work/s, makes for quite a thrilling and mind-blowing read.
While this book could be read as a standalone- there are recurring characters and snippets of backstory and other information which knowing would give you a much bigger picture and provide an even better perspective of the character/s and overall storyline, making for a better reading experience for you. Plus, the entire series is fantastic- so you really have nothing to lose by reading them all!
Detective Petrosky is faced with another challenge in this book- another murder kicks off an investigation which will test his limits on all fronts. The past and present collide- threatening to unravel everything, while dredging up the painful memories of his daughters’ murder. He is determined to find the killer before anymore children are ripped away from their families. What happens makes for quite an intense read.
As expected from Ms. O’Flynn, there was plenty of darkness, surprising developments, nail-biting intensity, shock, and awe. All I could do was hang on to the edge of my seat as I was swept along for the ride.
Another thrilling instalment!

Thank you, Ms. O’Flynn!!!

Rockin’ It Home: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Michelle King

Rockin' It Home (Lawson Family #3)Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading book 2 in this series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Ben’s story! It most certainly did not disappoint! Ben Lawson is absolutely delicious! Hometown boy turns super sexy rock star. Sounds like just my type! But there is so much more to him than that, both good and bad. In an effort to try to keep him under control, his label hires Dani as his personal assistant. While this is definitely not her job of choice, she needs the money so she accepts the position.

Ben and Dani’s story has so many ups and downs! My emotions were running all over the place non-stop! You’ll find a bit of everything here. Friendship, family, fun, heartbreak, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Romance, faith, and just all the feels!

What this author does is write stories that move you. She writes characters that you can relate to and makes it feel like they are your friends and family. This is a series you can completely lose yourself in. If you haven’t started this series yet, you’re definitely going to want to start! I just finished this and already wish I had the next book! Looking forward to Carly’s story up next.

Rockin' It Home (Lawson Family #3)Rockin’ It Home by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rockin’ It Home: a Lawson Family Novel is the third book in the Lawson Family series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. I absolutely loved this romantic story, it was full of romance, struggles, and triumphs. Benjamin Lawson is an up and coming rockstar from a small town in Minnesota. He lives for the stage and his daughter but has demons from his past that could jeopardise his future success, both professionally and romantically. Danielle de Luca gets hired to be Benjamin’s personal assistant, even though she is hesitant of the position she can’t say no to the money. Danielle begins to break down the walls that Benjamin puts up and becomes the one person he can rely on in the crazy world of stardom. Danielle struggles with her own past demons, which is why I think Danielle and Benjamin compliment each other so well.

I couldn’t help but root for Benjamin and Danielle as they discovered their friendship, and more. I loved watching the two main characters help each other work through very real situations. It was a pleasure to read how family-centric both Benjamin and Danielle were. I like this story so much I was able to read this book cover to cover in just a few hours.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lisa-Coming of Age (Book 1 of the Guardian Shifters ), was an easy to read book with well-developed characters. It seemed like it took forever for Lisa to get to her final destination, but it is necessary to the plot. This story is on the hot and steamy side and if that is your genre this will satisfy your need for that and your need for the paranormal. Lisa introduces you to characters that you will meet again. A good story.

First off I have to say I love this cover and second I’ve been patiently waiting for Mace’s story and I must say I’m not in the least disappointed. After every book I have read in this series I tell myself it’s the best one yet and then I got my hands on this and its definitely my favorite. I was so lost in the pages of this wonderfully written story I didn’t know what was happening around me. This story is about second chances and love and loss. Mace and Vanna, she is a strong woman who after her husband’s brain injury and the fact he couldn’t remember her or their son. And is now raising him pretty much on her own. Now that their son is headed down the wrong path she’s wanting to get some help. Then there’s Mace who is more than fine with being a bachelor, but he has a pull to the girl who comes for help with removing a tattoo. Mace feels the need to protect her but will he remember why? Afind out what happens next with Mace and Vanna in this must read book. I’m going to suggest if you haven’t started this series yet do it,you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

DIE FOR ME by Diane Hester – Review by Jonell Collins

Die For MeDie For Me by Diane Hester
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great little book. I nearly passed this book over but I’m telling you I am so glad I read Die For Me by Diane Hester. There are two or three stories going on in this book and they are all very skillfully woven together. Tragedy, bitterness, forgiveness, love, all the things that make a story great. As I was reading the story I got all the warm fuzzies and I was thinking oh what a sweet, sweet story because it is. The author pulls you along and lulls you into this wonderful story until she gets you firmly locked into the roller coaster. At that point you can hang it up you’re not doing anything else, no dishes will get done, the bed won’t get made and the laundry won’t get caught up. It was a page-turner for sure a really wild ride. I think I will be reading Diane Hester again.

Cade (Default Distraction #3)Cade by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cade (Default Distraction #3) by A.S. Roberts is an emotionally raw read and will tug hard on the heartstrings. I love this series and Cade & Winters story is one I have been waiting for. I loved the fact that AS has intertwined all three stories around the same time. So when you are reading it you get a snippet and remember the other two couples and their own heartaches and joys.

Winter is still trying to keep it together after being discarded by her first real love and the life she soon found herself in that nearly destroyed her. The last thing she needs is to see the one man who broke her heart, however in order to get back what was stolen, she needs this job and will have to harden her heart once again.

Cades was brought up by a monster, one who destroyed his life. Little did he know it had far more reaching consequences than he knew and destroyed something infinitely more precious.

This story and series is a must to each and everyone’s TBR list.

I cried. A lot while reading this book. And it was such a well written book too. The topic is one that isn’t talked about; you don’t hear about women abusing men. Dane’s wife is more than cruel in many ways. Especially since she uses their son against Dane. This book is a real eye opener. And its pretty amazing. Just wish it was a bit longer.

Mountains Series Boxed Set: (Books 1-3)Mountains Series Boxed Set: by Phoebe Alexander

This series will have you lurking series after series. Each book takes you on a journey through the relationship of Dr. S. Lynde and Sgt. James McAllister. The doctor is as open-minded about her sexuality as they come but isn’t looking for a relationship when she runs into the sergeant who changes her mind about that and life as she knows it in book one.
In the second series of book two, the reader is in for a book full of shocks and surprises about both characters’ lives. New characters are introduced and so are the twists and turns. In this book, we develop more of an in-depth look into the main character’s lives as they navigate their new love lives.
Finally in the final book of this trilogy, we’re still rooting for the couple as they face new experiences in their lives but with new tests. Pick up this trilogy and you won’t be disappointed in the way the author keeps you transfixed on this series alone. I can’t say how much I appreciate this author’s writing and the characters we’ve come to adore. In conclusion, pick these books up if you want to be entertained and for a good time any time. You won’t regret it!

Devil's Spawn (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)Devil’s Spawn by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book! There is really no other way to say it. Stunning, shocking and emotional are all rolled into this outstanding story. Tears…be ready for them because they are gonna roll. Every book this author writes seems to get better and more complex. This is a series that I can’t wait to dive into and I love but hate getting to that last page.

These characters are being broken down. It’s heart wrenching to watch…err read. I can’t imagine what Vanna has been through. She’s had to become strong….only to be lifted higher…then dropped back down to the bottom. The camaraderie and brotherhood between these men and heck even their women is admirable. I enjoy all their times together.

The anger/fear can be felt through the words on these pages. The characters have those emotions just for different reasons and it comes out of them differently. They are worried about the past, the present and the future.

I literally CAN NOT WAIT until I get to read more words from this stunning author. Until then….its rereading stories of this MC life and characters.

Devil’s Spawn: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6 by Manda Mellett. I kinda feel like a broken record but it has to be said this may be my favorite one so far. The characters are complex and relatable, so well written you think you know these characters in the real world. Each one having a story to be told you won’t want to miss. The storyline is incredible and had me completely hooked from start to finish I couldn’t put it down. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. *This review may contain spoilers from previous books in the series..*

Wow. This yet another gripping fascination of a book from a thrilling series. It grabs you by the proverbial balls and takes you on a wild ride you will never see coming. The story has so many twists and turns, I was dizzy at the end of it but wanted to get back on the ride again. The characters are incredible too. They have each gone through so much, they are definitely not your cardboard placeholders just there to help the story along. This book is so much more than just the mystery of finding out what happened and who did it. The author does a wonderful job of throwing in so many subplots while keeping the book clean and interesting.

While this book may have some parts that may be a little too much for the lighthearted, this is a spectacular addition to the series and highly recommended to those who enjoy a criminal thriller. This book can be read as a standalone (in my opinion), but you will understand and feel so much more if you read the previous books in the series first.

TWO HEARTS UNLIKELY HEROES (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8) by Tamara Ferguson – Review by Karyn Taylor

Two Hearts Unlikely Heroes (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance #9)Two Hearts Unlikely Heroes by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Two Hearts Unlikely Heroes is the 9th book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrier Romance Book series by Tamara Ferguson. All books in the series can be read as a stand-alone although characters from previous books do re-appear. I haven’t read all the books in this series yet but have recently become a huge fan and I’m working my way through them and have loved every one so far.
In this book Captain Ben Nash and Captain Samantha Caldwell have a very brief meeting when he saves her life in Iraq. Neither knew who the other was but have always wanted to know the identity of each other. A couple of years later the couple meet when Ben is sent undercover to the wounded warrier camp that Sam runs. The attraction is instant but Ben is pretending to be a much lower rank than he really is which would make him unattainable to Sam.
This is a fantastic story of 2 people who do not let their disabilities hold them back. Ben lost an arm and Sam a leg in the incident in Iraq. The attraction between the 2 provides for some amusing moments. When Sam’s life becomes in danger the storyline becomes intriguing and will have you gripped.
There are also some great secondary characters in this book, including 2 incredibly cute dogs that Sam adopts. A great read!

I have loved this series so hard, I love reading but it doesn’t always blend into my real life, I usually keep it separate but every time I wear my DD hoodie I get asked about the band and I explain that they make music that makes your heart sing and when people ask will I have heard of them and I explain only if you read a brilliant book, they look at me funny but I don’t care my love is so great. Cade Morello could have anything he desires and his band mates know that, they know his family and his tastes so you can see why his choices would make for difficult decisions as we all know family make us think twice especially when it may break the family we have built for ourselves. I loved this one, it really sucked you in, I didn’t think I could love anyone harder than Raff, but the tattooed bad boy that is Mr Morello well, he just created a new heartbeat for me to go by. I love the dynamics of this one and the underlying stories that needed to be heard to get the full picture and I love how you et just enough information to know what is happening but not enough to know everything. Well done on a fantabulous read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read every one of the books in this series and this one is my favorite. This author writes with heart and creativity. Her story is well written with characters that made the story feel realistic. They are connectable and I loved their chemistry together. In this story you have a drummer who always gets what he wants until she walks into his life. She plays by her own rules but will he convince her that the attraction between them is real? I loved watching them grow throughout the story. I found myself hoping they would end up together at the end but you will have to read this book to find out for sure. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens with them.
