Call of the Alpha by Brooke May is actually the second book in her Powder River Pack series. I have not had the pleasure, yet, to read book one but it didn’t throw me off one bit and I was still able to enjoy and understand this one just as if I had.
I loved how the action and adventure are complemented by the underlying romances that we get with the characters. They are all strong and fierce characters who all mesh in the perfect ways for the drama factor. I loved how this read fast and was not confusing at all even though it has paranormal aspects to it. Rylie was easy to read and I loved Mason and how he compliments all of her good and bad traits, much like we find in the real world. I will definitely be going to read book one and anxiously awaiting book three!

Forget Nico: Falling For The Wrong Italian is the third book in Gaia B Amman’s The Italian Saga, and the first in the Italian Teens series. The series follows Leda from her childhood onwards as she grows up. Leda and her friends are hitting puberty. Raging hormones are adding to the drama and tensions they were already having to deal with. Leda is struggling to get Nico to notice her as she fends off unwanted attention from other boys. I found the pacing a bit weird at times, with a few big jumps forward in time. This does allow the story to follow straight on from the previous book Out of the Nest: An Italian Summer and doesn’t affect the pacing too much. This book does just about work as a standalone, but the series as a whole is very enjoyable and it’s nice seeing Leda grow up and the other characters develop around her. I haven’t quite read them in order, but I did start with An Italian Adventure which was a good introduction to Leda and her family, as well as some of her friends. For me, this is a four star book. It’s enjoyable, if tense at times, and good to see this part of Leda’s journey. I’d recommend the series to fans of the Adrian Mole series and other coming-of-age stories, particularly if you’re interested in women in STEM.

Around Midnight by Zarina Macha is a young adult story about love and dreams. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it is one I can say I thoroughly enjoyed. The whole book was well written and had an easy pace about it. The characters were well developed. They had chemistry and it was easy to picture them together. This is one of those stories that you can’t imagine every young adult going through in one way or another – love and the effect it has on your life. This was a very good book and I am looking forward to reading more of this authors work.
I love finding new authors work to read so when I came across Scoring Chance I couldn’t wait to get started and I really enjoyed it! I like novellas, they are usually just long enough to get into and great for when you just want a short read – this was a fantastic novella! The storyline was great, the characters were well developed and I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved Rhett and Eden’s story – both with troubled pasts but I just knew the minute that they met there was something between them! Alongside both Rhett and Eden were some great secondary characters and I really hope we get to see more of them in the series – I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more from this author!

Around Midnight by Zarina Macha is a YA drama- with lots of angst, emotion, well developed character, first love, romance, manipulation, and more. As this is my first book by Zarina Macha, I really didn’t know what to expect- but the title and cover intrigued me enough to want to find out. I soon found myself pulled in all directions as things started being revealed. My intrigue for the characters soon turned to sympathy for one and hate for the other. I really didn’t like Vince- he was a real piece of shi(p)!!! I don’t think I have disliked another character as much as I do him- at least not for a long time. Don’t get me started on his manipulative and horribleness- BAH!!! But the fact that I got so wound up over a fictional character is a testament to Ms. Macha’s writing skills. She crafted her characters into fully realised individuals with their own personalities, quirks, and FLAWS. They were entirely believable. Highlighting all the teenage drama, angst, pressure, need for acceptance and fitting in, and other problems- in this emotive story. What happens when a gifted music student meets a bad boy with a dangerous reputation? After all, she is warned about him- but something about him draws her in. Pretty soon he’s consuming her thoughts- and her life begins unravelling….

Last time she’d tried to play, she hadn’t been able to hold more than a few notes, then ended up collapsing onto her bed. What was wrong with her? Was this love? Was this normal? A coming of age story with more impact than I had first imagined. So, if you like Young adult dramas, complex characters, a little intensity, emotive and intriguing developments- then this is definitely the book for you. I would definitely like to explore more of Ms. Macha’s work, soon!

I’ve read Sonya Jesus’s phenomenal Knight’s series before, so anything else by this author I knew was an automatic read, but I never thought this read would be better than them, but boy was I wrong!
This read is dark, suspenseful, psychological, it has romance and leaves me on the edge of my seat with anticipation wondering what could happen next. It is full of twists and turns that have you completely captivated and entranced with this read. This author had created incredible characters and a storyline that is incredible from the start and takes you along an emotional journey. What made this read even more thrilling was how mentally visual this read was, it was as though you were there alongside the characters, it was real, brilliant and I cannot fault it what so ever. I can’t wait to read more from this series and what is to come next!

Scoring Chance : A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin 4 of 5 Stars I enjoyed this novella by Lane Martin, it’s a contemporary sports romance and is a fairly quick read at only 138 pages. Although it’s a short read it is a full story with no cliffhanger ending and the author has ensured the novella is action packed. The story is based around the team members of the ‘Mile High Miners Hockey team’ and in particular goalie Rhett Crawford, who is left ‘twiddling his thumbs’ when not playing with his team mates on the ice. Rhett admits that he is a ‘player’ and enjoys the attention that being in the Miners gets him from the ladies but this changes when he meets Eden Snow. Unfortunately as the live in nanny to his captains children she is ‘forbidden fruit’, as his captain has made it clear she is off limits to his team members. Eden has also been told there is a ‘no boys in the house’ rule, which is fine by her as after a difficult childhood she is focused on her job and in getting an education. However neither Rhett or Eden can deny or ignore the sizzling chemistry between them from the first time they meet. I loved the two main characters and how their relationship developed over time, with both their troubled pasts playing a part in keeping them apart. I did find the story a bit confusing in part as there were so many secondary characters, mainly Rhett’s Miners team mates and their partners but the guys were all called different names as they were either referred to by their first name, surname or a nickname and it did make it a bit confusing. A list of characters at the beginning would have been helpful. It didn’t matter that I’m not particularly a hockey fan as I was hooked from page one based on the characters and their storyline. As a novella I read it in one sitting and I’m hoping Lane Martin is going to continue writing about the Mile High Miners Hockey Team. A great read which I definitely recommend.

This series is a must read and it’s also an unforgettable read. Each story gets better and better and you will find yourself so engrossed it the stories you will lose sight of reality while your pulled into the virtual world of the character’s. I absolutely loved how much depth and emotion is in these stories it really kept me captivated throughout I just couldn’t pull myself away. This is a series you will not be left disappointed if anything you will be left wanting more from this author just like how it made me feel after I read through this boxset.

Will Eden give in to the temptation’s Rhett is offering or will her childhood force her to push him away.

King & Hunt: A Lust/Hate Story is a great novella from Brienne Dubh. I had never previously read any of this author’s work but Brienne Dubh sure packs a lot into this 136 page novella. Christian Hunt and Gabriella King have hated each other for over 10 years. Unfortunately Christian is the twin brother of Gabby’s best friend so they have to see each other. When Gabby attends the twins 30th birthday party, after all the insults have been thrown at each other, they agree to call a truce. A truce that leads them to the bedroom as they both agree that although they hate each other, there is a wild attraction/lust simmering. What was meant to be a ‘once and done’ leads to both wanting another taste of each other. I loved this novella so much. The insults that both characters threw at each other were hilarious. He called her Gobby and she called him Hunt but they both knew she meant it to begin with a C (I loved the author’s explanation here). The bedroom scenes are hot and steamy and the author also manages to throw in some humour here too. I really enjoyed this novella and would definitely recommend it to others.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a sports romance novella. For being a novella, I was highly surprised at how well this story was written in detail. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be my last. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster that’s for sure between laughing and crying. The characters have so much detail that you will fall in love with them! We follow Rhett Crawford who is a hockey player and Eden Snow who is forbidden fruit according to the captain of the hockey team. That just adds to the temptation that is Eden and Rhett, can they stay away from each other? I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Do not pass this boxed set pass by. Rowan Shaw. His attention to detail is one thing I love about his stories. These books are set in France. There not a place better for a love story. There is m/m romance and great diversities to show each relationship and how they grow. The characters are amazing and I felt at home with them. I could see myself being friends with all of the characters. Can you find love if you are being you? Will you allow yourself to open up to someone that you are ready to be with forever? Those relationships when you are yourself and still feel love is what you should hold in your life.

In Order Words is the first novel in the Boothbay Harbor series by Pamela Q. Fernandes. This is my first novel by this author.
Trish is a pianist who has been betrayed by her boyfriend of three years.
The woman he is with now is also her manager. Trish has her own personal issues to come to terms with including her own bitterness from bad relationship choices and her being adopted from Korea.
When she moves into a new home, can she find love again when she meets her neighbor and chef Micheal Quentin.
This novel really made me feel for Trish and her overcoming her own issues. I wanted her to find herself and feel love again.
I don’t want to give too much away.
I suggest reading this for someone looking for something different to read.

This series is for 18 and older. I would also encourage you to read this series in order. As book 2 is a continuation to book 3.
This is the continued story of James and Sarah. With mountains between them. Lt.James McAllister is deployed. While he is gone, all he can think about is Sarah. He can’t wait to return and see if she is the love he seeks. Dr. Sarah Lynden has taken another. Garret Stone who is her everything. But… Can he take the place of James? What will happen when James returns?
Phoebe Alexander how could you? She has left me wanting for the rest of James and Sarah’s story. This is a page turner, well written, and easy to pick right back up where you left off. Phoebe Alexander has some amazing characters who will be on your mind as you wait for the next book. I have read quite a few Phoebe Alexander books and have never been disappointed. I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes. Please bring out the next one soon.

Out Of The Shadows by Theresa Sederholt. This review will do this book nothing of the justice it deserves but I’ll give it a try. I knew this story could be a bit of an emotional journey but I don’t think I was really prepared for all the emotions I went through. It’s been a while since I’ve felt so much reading a story and this author wrote it all so well. It’s full of not only heartache and emotions but secrets and raw story telling. I felt The author wanted readers to become emotionally invested, and I can honestly say I definitely felt it. I loved everything about this story and the characters that I’ll never forget. It’s a shorter read but it packs a punch so go get it and get ready to be wowed. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

Mountains Climbed is the second book in the Mountains series by Phoebe Alexander. This book/series is a steamy, wonderfully written, and absorbing contemporary romance. It continues the story started in book one, so as such, I really recommend reading the first book before starting on this one as it has all the backstory, character introductions, and other relevant information- which will give you a much better appreciation of this story. We met Dr. Sarah Lynde and Lt. James McAllister in book one- following them through all the intense, steamy, and emotional developments. James has been deployed to Afghanistan, and Sarah is trying to move on with her life- but neither of them can erase the other from their heart, or mind. What happens here, makes for really engrossing reading. Loving this story and the wonderful characters sooooo much- and it’s set to continue into book 3- so bring it on!!!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is a superb Rockstar romance. It is my first read from Thia Finn- and wow, have I been missing out on some great reading by not having discovered her sooner. Something I plan to rectify now, by diving into her catalogue of books in the very near future. I will be completely honest here and let you know that initially I chose this book as a bit of a ‘palate cleanser’, after some really intense stories left me with a heavy book-hangover. I wanted something light and fun, an easy read to get me back on track. While this was all those things- I definitely underestimated the story- because even though I knew I would love it (because, DUH- Rockstar romance, what’s not to love), I found that I loved it far more than I thought I would. It only took a couple of pages into the book, and I was hooked- avidly reading to discover where the story would lead. I became far more invested in the story and the characters than I expected- which made this book a fantastic ‘surprise’. While there were times I didn’t like where the story was headed, or what the characters were doing- and times I wanted to shake some sense into them- I still couldn’t tear myself away from the story, and ended up reading it in one sitting. There were a few little issues which confused me- but in the end they didn’t detract too much from the overall storyline. I will definitely be reading more of Thia Finn’s books- I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me!

It is a story with all the emotions for young love. The earlier books in this series focused on a young woman and her work and relationships including Nico. This book focuses on her younger years as a child/teenager, being in school and forming true friendships/relationships but also on trying to figure out herself and her place of where she fits in. It was interesting to see where it all started.

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a contemporary sports romance that is entertaining and is a quick read that is easy to get lost in. Lane’s writing is on point and does not fill a story with unnecessary words. This little gem of a story takes us on a journey of hardship and unexpected understanding. It made me laugh and was full of emotions. It is also full of swoon worthy men and loveable women and I loved the pay it forward idea. Eden is forbidden fruit but Rhett is sure of one thing and that is she will be his but to get there he must travel a long and winding road.
This is my first book I have read by Lane Martin and I look forward to reading more about the Mile High Miners Hockey team.

Around Midnight by Zarina Macha, is a YA romance story that shows the raw feelings of first time love and the uncaring side of a boy who thinks nothing but himself. It is full of angst and betrayal, love and hurt, confusion and loss. It is a quick read but complex read that packs all the emotions for young love. It is easy to forget how wounding a fist love can sometimes be. I found myself loving Vince and Megan but that soon turned to hate for a boy who is toxic and manipulated and pressured and shown he was a nasty, nasty piece of work and for Zarina to inflect those sorts of emotions to the reader means she did a good job at writing him and the story.
Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin was a sweet sporty romance that I really enjoyed reading. It’s not everyday you get a good blend of sports, romance, and forbidden passion. Rhett is trying to make it onto the team while dealing with temptation and a personal problem. Eden has a chance to make her dreams come true without exhausting herself and being on the brink of failing. While a little on the slower side I did enjoy the peak into the mental struggle and dialogue it takes to take a chance. This story to me felt like two people trying to make it out of tough circumstances into something better, while battling their inner demons to be together. Mind you that there are rules in place that would prefer them to be apart. I really enjoyed the story and hope to read more soon!

Being a person with no instrumental talents I love listening to people pay what’s in their heart. Passion is a great motivator. It gives that person a fire inside to keep going and never backing down. Trish is trying to heal after her boyfriend cheats. Some people don’t think you should dwell on the pain. But it’s so much better for you in the long run to face it now. Get all the ugly cries out so that the next time that person name is said you feel nothing. I really like Michael. His character was almost perfect. Which is perfect no girl what’s a perfect guy. Just a guy that’s perfect for her. The author gave the characters a great start and the story progressed without a problem. There are many parts of this book that will make you wish you were a millionaire so that you could really do some good. This is definitely a book meant to pull on your heartstrings.

Rewind #1: Florian walks in on a shocking scene, his GF in bed with his best friend. She appears to have no remorse whatsoever and blames him for her actions because of his bisexuality. I instantly had a dislike for this woman. I question why he stayed with her as long as he did.
Enzo who is deaf also went through an abusive relationship and was trying to recover from it. When Enzo and Florian reconnect after eight years you can feel the love between them. They were perfect for each other.
As we move forward, the story goes from past to present and we start to get some answers as to why Florian went away and Enzo has some deep scars he’s trying to recover from.
I will warn that there is some emotional abuse that was really sad and hard to read at times. The secondary characters were interesting to say the least, most of them were disappointing to me in the attitudes and comments that would come from them. This was a great read but had my emotions all over the place. If you are an overly sensitive person, some of the abuse/comments in the book may be triggers for you. What’s even more sad is that some of these things are an everyday thing for some people.
Return #2: We get Raphael and Adrien’s story. Raphael is moving to Paris for his studies and needs to find a place to live. When he answers to an ad that Adrien has posted, things take an interesting twist.
Adrien was very quiet at first. As the days go by they get to know each other better and start to have a deep connection. The life that Adrien leads is something else but when Raphael came along things changed for Adrien.
Can Adrien and Raphael have a future together? Will they get the HEA they both deserve?
There are some very interesting elements to this story. I was once again pulled in by Rowan Shaw’s writing. I loved the secondary characters and we get lots of hot and steamy scenes and I enjoyed seeing the characters from Rewind as well.
Revive #3: I really liked Brandon and Patrick and their story. Brandon is a single father who has been struggling with coming out, when he has a one night stand with a hot man things get even harder for him. Brandon gets a very unexpected surprise when he meets his new therapist, Patrick, the one night stand.
Will the chemistry between these two test the patient, doctor boundaries? Can they have more?
Patrick has certain issues with bi men, and when he discovers Brandon is bi can he get past his issues? We also learn why Patrick feels the way he does, which helped me understand his feelings.
Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the secondary characters were great, I had several LOL moments. I really like the alternating POV, it gives you a chance to see what each of them are thinking.
Rebound #4: Noah was shocked when his boyfriend Hugo broke up with him. They had 10 great years together, so Noah thought. Trying to move forward he turns to Adrien, his best friend. He meets a woman that Adrien knows and starts a very hot and steamy relationship with her.
Can Noah find happiness with her?
Overall I really enjoyed this story, I think it’s my favorite in the series so far. My emotions were all over the place. Noah really tugs at your heartstrings with everything he is going through. All of the secondary characters were great. This is a polyamorous/bisexual romance with M/M, M/F, M/M/M and M/M/M/F. I really like how open each of the characters are sexually, they all connect so well.
Rowan Shaw does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing and we meet so many great characters. 1-click and get started today on this must read boxed set you will love it as much as I did.

Forget Nico was like reliving my teenage years all over again. The high emotions and the forever changing hormones. Leda doesn’t know how she truly feels. Her emotions are so mixed up that she doesn’t know if she should forget Nico or love him. You can tell from the first chapter that the characters had a lot of growing to do. Though Leda was a little whiny she grew so much by the end. I’m also a woman who is a sucker for a bad boy. Especially one that is hurting. Idk what it is about wounded men that we automatically want to fix. I liked the easy flow to the story. I liked how the author gave you a authentic view of Italy. I felt like I was standing in the country. This story was well written.

This was a very emotional read. Trish, who is looking for love and to be loved can’t seem to find it no matter how hard she tries. She is adopted and certain things she experienced growing up has shaped her need to belong. As a child she spent time with a neighbor who taught her to play the piano and she became a very good pianist and that became her chosen profession. Michael who has his own issues from his childhood and that’s the reason he says he will never fall in love and do the family thing. He is passionate about his career as a chef and building his b&b. These two become unlikely friends, but they say opposites attract. Will these two be able to get past their issues and find love? This is a must read if you want to find out. I look forward to what the next book in this series will bring. I recommend this book.

This is the first book that I have read from Thia Finn and I loved it. It’s sometimes hard to branch out from different authors that we love but this one definitely made the group! This story captivated me and I could not stop reading! Even if hearts are broken and paths are crossed again you learn that there are different sides to every story and LOVE will always win. This is one emotional story but one that was so beautiful to read! I cannot wait to read more from Thia Finn!!!!!

This book was a bit different than anything I’ve read. While I’m semi-familiar with polyamory, I’ve never read anything in regards to it. Sarah meets James, a lieutenant. They have great sexual chemistry, regular chemistry as well. She meets Pawel next, a colleague who she finds out is married and in an open relationship. What follows is a story between the 3 that you have to read to completely understand. Phoebe took a taboo and perhaps a confused and even misunderstood subject and made it something worth reading. I can to wait to dive into the next book!!

Forget Nico: Falling for the Wrong Italian is the third book in The Italian Saga by Gaia B. Amman. This was my first time reading a book in the series and I was not disappointed. It was easy to become attached to the main character Leda. As she experiences high school drama, it brought me back to my own high school days of young love, hormones, angst, the whole nine yards.The emotional roller coaster that comes with teen hood was very evident in this story. I loved the Italian culture weaved throughout the story as well. I will definitely be looking into the other stories in this series, I’m hooked!

Wow just Wow. I’m at a loss for words. I can’t say I loved this book because I feel like that’s wrong. Every book I’ve ever read by this Author I’ve loved. This one shattered my heart and played with my emotions. I can’t say I know or even understand how or what they went through because I don’t, but I was pretty much holding my breath and praying so hard it didn’t end badly . My heart hurt for Dane and Brady. Dane has a secret one that’s about to come to out. The way he handled it was all he could do. He was trying to keep Brady safe. This story may be a trigger for some so be aware that does have domestic violence. I never really gave it much thought that it could happen to men,but it definitely can and probably does more than we realize. I highly recommend reading this Book. Its definitely an eye opener and will take you on a emotional rollercoaster ride that will have you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
