This is not my first book by Carrie Pulkinen. This book has a cute plot line and great characters. The plotline is a simple one but it is filled with comedy and a love story. The characters are fully developed and complex. This story is about Logan and Allison, Logan is an empath who has a wicked ghost in his house. Allison is a medium who has a hard time with ghosts. Logan is longing for a normal life but his visitor in his house will not leave him alone. Allison is a medium whose past has scars from ghosts. Logan wants to have a normal life and he hopes to have it with Allison. Allison does not like ghosts. She has dealt with some mean ones in her past. Will Allison be able to assist Logan? Will Logan get his normal life? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to Logan and Allison.

Love at First Haunt (Haunted Ever After Book 1) By Carrie Pulkinen 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Love at First Haunt (Haunted Ever After Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen. It is a story that grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I loved the characters of Allison Gray and Logan Mitchell. Allison is an intelligent, independent, and gifted young woman. The gift that she has is not always used, which is by her choice. She also is not looking for a relationship. Then she meets Logan. Logan is funny, intelligent, and also not looking for a relationship. Then he meets Allison. What does the future hold for Allison and Logan? Read this book to find out. I also loved the additional characters that are introduced and read about the part that they play in the book. I loved the bantering back and forth between the characters. Don’t miss out on a story that is exciting and entertaining. I highly recommend it.

This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the first. This is a well developed book that will make you question whether or not you would do things over. If we did do things over would we make the same mistakes as the first time? For me I don’t think I would as I would not have the things I do now if I didn’t make mistakes. I enjoyed how easy this book was to read and understandable. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. If you are given a second chance, what would you do?

I enjoyed this shorter historical romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a story that pulled me in right from the beginning and held my attention to the end. This is one of my favorite genes and time in history. This author has created characters that brought the story to life and made it feel realistic. I had no problem connecting to the characters and picturing myself in their lives. This is a sweet romance fairytale story that kept me turning pages to the end. It is full of curses, magic and even some humor. I highly recommend picking up this book, you won’t regret it.

Where Flowers Bloom A Romantic, Modern to Historical, Mystery By Nikki Valerie ☆☆☆☆☆ This full length novel has it all. Get ready to experience it all as well. This is a must read for those over 18. Due to adult content as well as steamy, frightening romance.
Kendyll, an author is about to take the adventure of a lifetime. Buying and moving into a new home is an adventure all on its own. But this house has a lot of history as well as needing to be brought to life. Kendyll has been engaged to Vance for years and is ready for the next step. But is Vance? Will this home be of his liking? Because Kendyll is about to venture into this historic home and make it her own.
Nikki Valerie is quite the writer. This story has it all! Her story is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love the characters and the parts they play. Some of this book feels like home. So much so I can see the Happily Ever After. Can you? This book holds a lot. So take the time to enjoy it as I have. Well Done Nikki Vale! WELL DONE!
This is the third book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous two books to get to know the main character and help enjoy this series. This is a well rounded story that has characters that are creative and brings the story to life. Beck is talked into taking tennis lessons by her sister. What will happen when a tennis pro is murdered? I highly recommend finding out what happens when she helps the detective on the case. I really enjoyed the characters and what they bring to the story. They kept me engaged, this was worth the pick up.

The Traveler: Chimera Rising by Shannon Nemechek is the third book in the Book of Eleanor series. For me this is definitely a series that needs to be read in order so you can fully understand what is happening. This book picks up right from where the previous book ends meaning we are straight back into the story. It is a pretty fast paced book with plenty going on so it will be sure to keep you interested. Having read the previous books it really feels like you know the characters by this point. It feels like you are on the journey with them. The author has put in such detail that you can imagine it all so easily. This book has got to be my favourite out of the series so far and is a great addition. I am looking forward to seeing what else might be next.

Allison is a medium, healer and psychic and also afraid of ghosts after having a traumatic experience. She’s been betrayed by people and anyone with money cannot be trusted. Logan has his own demons, but he also is an empath only he doesn’t know it yet. He doesn’t trust his visions and they stop him from trying to live his life. Immediate attraction pulls them together both have issues that they need to overcome. They have great chemistry and if you like broken characters finding their happy ending this story is for you. I really liked Carrie’s writing and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book because I love her series.

Killer Blonde is one of the best books I have read recently. Once you get into the story, you will be on the edge of your seat and not be able to put the book down! This was the first book I have ever read by Allan Evans, and he will definitely be on my must-read authors list. Killer Blonde is a suspense-filled cat and mouse game worthy of James Patterson. At the beginning of the book, you will immediately be drawn into the killer’s web of horror. Allan Evans successfully pulls humor into the story with character jokes and levity. I enjoyed that even the minor characters are likeable and fun to read about. The main character, Cade Dawkins, is lovable and a man you would want to protect you. You will identify with Cade’s honor and either want to be him or be married to him. This is your next must-read story!

So they fell in love, got married, had kids and lived happily ever after…… and then WHAT HAPPENED? Climbing the Walls gives us a glimpse into what happens after the happily ever after…. Sacha T.Y. Fortuné tells us the story about what might appear to be the perfect marriage and she takes us on a rollercoaster ride in the ups and downs of Nicole and Darren’s everyday married life. These characters are the kind you love to hate…. because they are just so mean but without them the story won’t be the same. Absolutely loved this book.

5 stars! Excellent! I was hooked on this book just as much as the first one. This book can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading them in order, as it gives some history on the other characters. I was excited to see this book was about Jaxon. I liked the connection of Jaxon standing in for the current chief of police who happens to be Kaylas father. My heart broke for poor Kayla having to deal with an abusive boyfriend, and it seems he has no problem in taking it to the extreme of trying to kill her. I swooned when Jaxon would stop at nothing to help Kayla and make sure she stayed safe, I love second chance at love. All of the suspense, drama and romance really made for an awesome story. Amy McKinley is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors with the way she can tell a story, I was kept on the edge waiting to see what was going to happen next and was blown out of water with the twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Who is up next!?

This is the first book in the Haunted Ever After Series. I love this book. Its a great mix of paranormal and romance. The characters are really well written and you can’t help feeling connected to them.
Allison Grey is a psychic medium. She uses her gift to help people. However after one bad experience she has decided she not longer wants to work with spirits. But the spirits don’t take the hint.
Logan is a successful businessman. He is also named most eligible bachelor. He is surrounded by beautiful women but he is am empath so he can see that all they are interested in is his money. Add to that his reoccurring vision of his future wife commuting suicide and he has vowed never to get married. That is until he meets Allison. Logan is intrigued by her as she seems to pay no interest in him at all. Could she be the one to want him for the person he is instead of his bank balance?
With the presence of a spirit in Logans home making him feel like he is losing his mind, can they solve this together? If Allison can get over her fear of ghosts will they be able to live happily ever after or will loving Logan mean risking her life?

Book Review: Hell In a Handbasket (Life is Hell Book 3) Author: Naomi Valkyrie Four Stars The third book in the Life is Hell series and in my humble opinion so far the very best of them. And that is saying a lot as I LOVED book one. I have not ever really cared for paranormal genres but this series does not disappoint at all. Oren and Teivel are awesome characters and they will quickly capture your desire to keep learning more and turning pages. This book can be read as a stand alone just like all the books but you should start from book one as each book builds on the others as well. KLH

Another Amy McKinley story with love, misunderstandings, adventure, missed opportunities, 2nd chances and sexy times. Another story worth reading. Bound by Secrets, Deadly Isles Special Ops book 2 is about Kayla and Jaxson, the past they share and the future they want. But the present is trying to kill Kayla, making the future look anything but bright. This story starts out with violence but with hope as well. The journey that Kayla takes is full of surprises, including the one that got away, Jaxson.
I enjoyed this story with all the emotional ups and downs the characters had to face. Looking forward to reading more in this series and seeing what happens next with the other Special Ops.

Great introduction of a new to me Author. Coyote Summer is a book that gives us a very thought provoking point of view of a tragic event that is unfortunately an everyday occurence in today’s society. Ben witnesses the sexual assault of a high school girl and then struggles to come to terms with what he saw. I absolutely loved the fact that the Author brought us this story from a male perspective. Ben is also in a strange relationship with a fascinating girl, with a completely different upbringing than him. This is a completely different coming of age story with excellent characters and amazing depth. The only thing that was a miss for me was the supernatural aspect. But it doesn’t take away from the great story.

This is Gunner Rambergs story, he is tortured by guilt and shame after his sister got hurt in an accident which changed his, her and his Amma’s life forever, but when she was kidnapped he made a decision to save her and break the ties to the new family he had at his place of work, Eidolon. This burdens him with even more guilt and shame and is causing him to want to give up on everything else because of it, especially when he is approached again by the same people and asked to perform betrayal all over again, but when he is delayed in Düsseldorf, Germany, he has a chance encounter with an old friend at the hotel in which they are both staying. Lacey Cannon is on her way to a new start in England, but when she is delayed in Düsseldorf and has to check into a hotel overnight, she is stressed out and decides to use the hotel’s swimming pool to work out her worry, however, while she is there, she feels like she is being watched, but casting the paranoia aside, she goes back to her room and decides to go down to the bar for a drink to settle her nerves, but when she gets there, the last thing she is expecting is to run into Gunner, the man who rescued her for an ex she longs to forget and their connection is immediate and strong.
As the night progresses, they are getting along like a house on fire and have had a fair few drinks, Lacey is a bit worse for wear and Gunner wants to drop her off in her room, but when they open the door and see that it is trashed, Lacey is an emotional wreck as her past experiences come back to her with a vengeance. Gunner decides to take Lacey back to his room and proceeds to call the boss of Eidolon and explain what has happened and that she will need protecting when she gets to the airport and home, so when that is all sorted and he has spoken to the hotel managers, he insists that she stays in his room for the night. When Lacey wakes up in the middle of the night screaming, she finds that she is in Gunners arms and unexpectedly he opens up about his past and Lacey sees what is going on inside his head and wanting to help take the pain from him, she kisses him, before either of them can stop, one thing leads to another and passion ignites between them, leading to one night together. Gunner wakes up later on and leaving a note by her bedside, packs his things and leaves, he doesn’t want her in any danger again and he knows that he will undoubtedly be putting her there if he stays any longer, but when Lacey wakes up to find him gone, she is sad, but their because of their conversations the night before, she understands why he left and even though she doesn’t like it, she accepts it.
As she thinks about her past, her ex and how different Gunner is and how he makes her feel, she is still sad some weeks later, but what she doesn’t know is that Gunner feels the same way, although he won’t let himself get too close to her, meanwhile, Gunner has gone back to Eidolon to explain why he did what he did and to warn them about what he is currently doing, hoping that it will make up for what he has done, but as things progress, he realises that Lacey has given him a reason to live and now he wants to do everything in his power to make that happen, but will the past repeat itself, or will this new enemy think of different ways to cause pain and heartache? Can Gunner make right the past and work for a future, or will his enemies make good on their threats and take away everything he has worked for? This story will keep you in suspense and on your toes while secrets are revealed, new enemies are discovered and past enemies are renewed, but the twists will make you keep reading to find out what happens in the end.

Slash & Burn is the fourth book in the Nite Fire series by C. L. Schneider. It is a fantastic action-packed urban fantasy that kept me glued to the pages right from the get-go! We meet up with Dahlia Nite, the dragon shifter and all-round kick-a**, while she is still coming to terms with the events and fallout from the previous book. A lot has happened since we met her back in book one, and she has been through so much. She has survived her ordeal and has been picking up the pieces of her life, while training hard and trying to get a handle on everything. She has returned to her vigilante ways in an effort to keep the streets safe. But the spreading blight, and sheer numbers of ‘monsters’ will test her like never before. Does she have any chance of stemming the flow? This is definitely worth the read to find out. Highly recommended for fans of epic, or urban fantasy- who like plenty of action and adventure! Can’t wait to get my hands on the fifth, and final, instalment in the series- ‘Exit Strategy’. Superb!

Smoke & Mirrors is the third book in the Nite Fire Series by C. L Schneider. There is so much to love about this series- an urban fantasy with plenty of supernatural and paranormal elements, danger, shifters, action, adventure, mystery, suspense, drama, intrigue, fantastic characters, brilliant world building, and much more. A lot has happened since we started the first book, so I really recommend reading the other two books first before starting on this one- as there is important backstory and character details to be discovered there, which will enhance your reading experience of this book. This is a complex and multi-layered story, with so much going on, and as I have come to expect from Ms. Schneider, there is more to the story than first meets the eye. I was completely immersed in the story, devouring every word- and loving every exciting minute. This is a fantastic third instalment, and a wonderful addition to the intriguing, unique, and very imaginative series. Ms. Schneider has proved, yet again, to be a quite the masterful storyteller and talented author. I really recommend this book/series to anyone who loves a great paranormal story with supernatural elements, crime + investigation, action, and adventure.

What a great Psychological thriller. Killer Blonde by Allan Evans is just that kind of a book. Quite a little twist on the victims in this one. The story moves along fluidly and is an easy read. It was an enjoyable read. I especially like how Detective Cade Dawkins thinks and his constant reflection about how he enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. For such a dark subject it is balanced by the Detective’s positive attitude. This is a new author for me, but he will go on my list of read again writers. A good clean read.

Killer Blonde by Allan Evans was a great read! This book had all the elements of a well written novel. It had thrills, suspense, a bit of mystery, some romance and a touch of dark humor that made me laugh throughout the novel. There wasn’t really anything that stuck out to me as different from other crime novels, except the state trooper element. That was interesting. I loved the cover, it was what originally made me decide to read this novel. And the synopsis finished the decision for me. This was a very interesting read that grabbed me and held my attention. I can’t wait to read more, and hopefully see Cade again in the future!

Vengeance (The Sundown Series Book 5) by Courtney Konstantin is not just another zombie apocalypse tale. Yes, there are zombies. Yes, there has been apocalyptic events. The difference is its not just a continual onslaught of zombies in one scene after another. These are people living real lives amidst great adversity. It’s the every day dealing with people that are all different in their own unique ways, but all the same. You know, like life. Although this is a part of a series this story stands on its own. I love how Max finds out that even though you have the right idea and feel the need to follow through, its not always the best thing at the time. Its hard to know the difference sometimes. I am looking forward to reading the next one.

Their journey to finding love was special. I think the two of them fit together nicely and I enjoyed going on their journey to finding each other. This is an excellent series. Allison is her best friends plus one and they are going to a party in the mansion she has just sold, when the get their, the first impression that Allison gets is that it is over the top and pretentious to say the least and when she gets hit with the emotions of the attendees, she is sure that that is the case, all they are thinking about is sex and money, well apart from her, but when she feels the screaming loneliness of one of the guests, she is surprised to see that it is the host, as she tries to escape it, she finds a woman on the stairs and is hit again with sadness, betrayal and despair, but as she tries her hardest to help the woman, it is when she disappears that Allison realises that it was a spirit and so she runs out of the house and home before her own emotions escape and she becomes overwhelmed by them. All the time that Allison is trying to escape from the house, Logan is trying to find her, he knows that she is different to all of the others and as soon as he locked eyes with her earlier and got a sense of her emotions, there was nothing about sex and money, nothing like the others and he got the feeling that he just had to talk to her, but when he sees her at the bottom of the staircase and then running out of the door, he can’t believe his bad luck, but he also can’t think of anything else but here, even when he takes another woman to bed, just so he isn’t alone, but when Logan starts to hear strange sounds and things start moving on their own, he calls on someone to see whether his new acquisition is haunted.
When their paths next cross, it is at another function, but people just keep interrupting them talking, so when they go to somewhere more quiet to try again, passion comes to the fore instead and not much talking gets done, at least until they are interrupted again, fortuitously this time, they go back downstairs and albeit she is asked not to, Allison leaves again as she is terrified by her feelings towards this man and his need for help. When he realises that he has lost Allison again, he tries to think about what he did learn about her and when his best friend intervenes and manages to find options of where she could be, he makes it a mission to find her and when he does, he realises that he doesn’t want to let her go, but Allison has a different idea and lets her fear win.
As fate intervenes yet again, the pair realise that despite everything they both fear, they both can’t resist the other, but they each have their secrets they are unwilling to share and when things start to get more malevolent in Logan’s home and the truth comes out, will they be able to save each other, or will their gifts be the end of them both? This is a romance with haunting suspense woven into it, which pulls you along as you engage more with Allison and Logan and this pull only gets stronger as you read to the end.

Hungry Business: A Short Story by Maria DeBlassie was a really interesting read. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but it definitely wasn’t what I read. I wasn’t expecting a zombie story. I wasn’t expecting to be grabbed in, and looking for a terrible turn around every corner. I was pleasantly surprised with this quick read. The imagery was absolutely incredible and I felt like I was the person in the story, it was that enthralling. It completely grabbed me. If this author writes every novel this way I can’t wait to read more!

I still don’t know how I feel about Coyote Summer by Laura Koerber. It is the first I have read by her, and as much as I want to love it, I have mixed feelings. (Side note- This description is so much better than the one on AZON) The story was great, until about halfway through, then I don’t even know what happened. Literally- I still don’t quite understand what was real, exaggerated, dreamed, hallucinated, etc. The book is centered around Ben’s senior year and a series of events that changed his life. Claire’s assault stuck with Ben forever, and changed who is was as a person. It made him question his life, his friends, his morals, everything. And I love that- We saw how Ben changed his way of thinking, struggled with his feelings, and matured into a young adult. However, everything surrounding Puppy and her family, I’m still iffy on. I feel like the author had 2 story ideas, and mashed them together- and I don’t think it worked well. At least for me. I really want to love it… the writing in the first half, I loved. It is written primarily inside Ben’s head and his feelings. I felt his internal struggle to figure out right from wrong. To break away from friends he has had his whole life. To question his family’s way of life, and what being part of it means. But, seeing other reviews, it seems it is a love or hate for most. So, Read the book, and decide for yourself. I hope to read another book by this author and see if I love it more.

Maria DeBlassie paints a vivid picture of life in the aftermath of a Zombie virus outbreak. This novella is about of an introvert with a strong will to survive. This short story answers enough questions to leave the reader willing to accept that this is where the story ends. However, would make a great beginning to a new series that revolves around this new world. This novella is great for those that enjoy reading horror, suspense, dark humor, apocalyptic science fiction, or zombie stories in general. Maria has the knack for writing quirky, original and unusual stories. She is well versed in this way and can’t wait to read another novel by her. While this novella did have me confused at first, it does get better.

Beck’O Rourke, her carefree sister Lizzie and her adorable grandmother are back with the handsome police detective Devon Mathis in the third installment of the series, A Tennis pro to die for. I have read the previous two books and I am a huge fan of Judy Moore Cozy mystery’s books. This one is by far, the most complicated of the plots. Beck and Lizzie decide to take tennis lessons at a racquet club in the country club in Florida. Her instructor gets into a hit-and-run accident and is killed. Beck decided to step in and helps out Devon to solve this intriguing mystery. Similar to the previous two books, the plot is very fast paced. The relationship between Beck and Devon is sweet and is still blooming. The characters are endearing and heartwarming. I liked this book and look forward for more from Jude Moore.

This little book is amazing. It’s a wonderful young adult crime novel. The characters remind me of my family when we were younger. There is so much action packed into this novel you’ll want to reread it to make sure you didn’t miss anything

I give Hell In A Handbasket (Life Is Hell Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie, 5 stars.
If you have not read this series yet, you need to pick it up! The story continues in book 3 and this one is just as good as the rest. All of the characters are unique and interesting, but this time the focus is on two previously secondary characters, Oren and Teivel. The dynamic between these two characters is great. Oren really struggles to find who he really is while at the same time he’s both frustrated and attracted to Teivel. Teivel has essentially closed himself off feelings-wise. This has been hinted to in previous books, but now we find out why. The author does a wonderful job on his back story — I really understand him so much better now.
But this not just about the two of them — there is the tracking job Teivel is sent on, which turns out to be much more complex than he ever imagined. Then there is the baby dropped on their doorstep. In other words, there is so much going on in this book and the author weaves everything together seamlessly, making for such an intriguing take.
If you are a fan of paranormal romance/urban fantasy with strong characters and a little on the darker side, this book and series are for you.
