My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This romantic comedy centres around Allison Gray and Logan Mitchell, one is a rich playboy empath who has just bought a mansion at a steal and the other is a psychic, she can perform Reiki as well, but who is also terrified of spirits after a nightmare experience the year before and she runs her business from the back of an antique dealer, she is also someone whose best friend is an estate agent, who just happened to recently sell a mansion, but the psychic and the empaths paths collide in the mansion, neither one expects what is to come of it.

Allison is her best friends plus one and they are going to a party in the mansion she has just sold, when the get their, the first impression that Allison gets is that it is over the top and pretentious to say the least and when she gets hit with the emotions of the attendees, she is sure that that is the case, all they are thinking about is sex and money, well apart from her, but when she feels the screaming loneliness of one of the guests, she is surprised to see that it is the host, as she tries to escape it, she finds a woman on the stairs and is hit again with sadness, betrayal and despair, but as she tries her hardest to help the woman, it is when she disappears that Allison realises that it was a spirit and so she runs out of the house and home before her own emotions escape and she becomes overwhelmed by them. All the time that Allison is trying to escape from the house, Logan is trying to find her, he knows that she is different to all of the others and as soon as he locked eyes with her earlier and got a sense of her emotions, there was nothing about sex and money, nothing like the others and he got the feeling that he just had to talk to her, but when he sees her at the bottom of the staircase and then running out of the door, he can’t believe his bad luck, but he also can’t think of anything else but here, even when he takes another woman to bed, just so he isn’t alone, but when Logan starts to hear strange sounds and things start moving on their own, he calls on someone to see whether his new acquisition is haunted.

When their paths next cross, it is at another function, but people just keep interrupting them talking, so when they go to somewhere more quiet to try again, passion comes to the fore instead and not much talking gets done, at least until they are interrupted again, fortuitously this time, they go back downstairs and albeit she is asked not to, Allison leaves again as she is terrified by her feelings towards this man and his need for help. When he realises that he has lost Allison again, he tries to think about what he did learn about her and when his best friend intervenes and manages to find options of where she could be, he makes it a mission to find her and when he does, he realises that he doesn’t want to let her go, but Allison has a different idea and lets her fear win.

As fate intervenes yet again, the pair realise that despite everything they both fear, they both can’t resist the other, but they each have their secrets they are unwilling to share and when things start to get more malevolent in Logan’s home and the truth comes out, will they be able to save each other, or will their gifts be the end of them both? This is a romance with haunting suspense woven into it, which pulls you along as you engage more with Allison and Logan and this pull only gets stronger as you read to the end.
