Nite Fire: Flash Point by C. L. Schneider – Review by Santana Hicks

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was really interesting to immerse myself in. I used to love dragons when I was younger. This is the first dragon themed book I have read in years and I was not disappointed.

The main character, Dahlia Nite, is a half human half dragon shifter. She left her home on Drimera almost 100 years ago, taking up residence on Earth. Taking it upon herself to protect the humans from species like herself while also covering the tracks of the creatures, she works alongside the police as a consultant.

These newest cases are harder to cover up since the creatures are no longer trying to hide. Dahlia is working in overdrive to try to cover it up from the humans as a few detectives have too many questions about the circumstances that these humans are in. Burnt to a crisp.

Dahlia uses her dragon powers to solve crimes. She has the power of empathy which allows her to see pain and sorrow which the dead produce a lot of. More and more creatures are appearing on Earth and Dahlia is trying to find out why all while hiding who she truly is.

The concept was very interesting. This power is unique all in it’s own. Which made me intrigued right from the beginning to the end.

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In Flash point the reader is introduced to Dhalia Nite, a lyrriken (dragon hybrid) that fled from her home realm, whose been living amongst human for close to a century. We fallow Dhalia on an investigation of murders caused by those like her, where simultaneously she is trying to understand why her kind is murdering, and brutally so, all the while making sure to cover up any notions that these murders could be supernatural. This becomes hard as she is joined in this investigation by Detective Creed, who to Dhalia’s detriment, wants nothing less than the truth even if is supernatural. What I enjoyed about this book was the powers that Dhalia has, and how she is able to feel and see into a persons perspective, which does come in handy when trying to solve a murder case. This book is a unique storytelling, with AMAZING world building, and complex characters. Flash point is only the beginning to an intriguing world of dragon hybrids, and Dhalia Nites story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dahlia is a Lyrriken, half human half dragon. She was raised to be an assassin for the Guild. When she is sentenced to death for a mistake, she runs, escaping through an exit portal. After more than 100 years of constantly being on the move to avoid detection, Dahlia returns to Sentinel City. There she works as a fire investigator on contract to the city on an unexplained murder case involving fire. Turns out its not unexplained. It just is not a human crime. As she works to solve the case while also hiding the truth from from the human authorities more murders pile up. The more Dahlia learns the more she questions if she is making the right choices. But she is determined to make a difference. Will it be enough?
This is the first book by C.L. Schneider I have read, but I will definitely be reading more. This book had a lot of different dimensions, building up both the characters and the worlds themselves. I found it very easy to imagination. There were a few places I feel like there could have been more description given; however, I have a feeling that will come as the series continues. I can not wait to see what comes next in this series. I would suggest reading this book.

I am a sucker for a good fantasy novel, and this first installment of the Nite Fire series definitely shows promise and establishes a great foundation of the heroine and her journey for all of the books that follow this one. I adored the idea of a shapeshifting assassin from another world, and I loved the fact that she has a soft spot for humans. Her life is never boring, by default, but that leaves her kept constantly on her toes. To see what I mean, crack the book open and experience the adventure for yourself! Also, be prepared to need to order the next installment immediately upon completion.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) By C.L. Schneider – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dahlia Nite is a woman who moves around a lot ever since she escaped from her home and her execution, all because she paused while carrying out her duty when she was startled by something she couldn’t easily explain, so she ran in the middle of the night leaving everything and everyone she knew behind and escaped to the human realm, but her past has caught up with her now she has moved back to Sentinel City and not just when she is reliving her pain and fear in her dreams whenever she goes to sleep. When she uncovers a nest of otherworldly creatures who have been killing the humans in the city she currently calls home, she has no choice but to exterminate them, although it isn’t easy and she has to hide her true form while doing it, she completes her mission, but while working out how the creatures made it there, it is what they say which troubles her more, this and the fact that these particular creatures normally live alone, but here there were five of them, just another thing to add onto her list of strange things happening in Sentinel City.

The next day she is contacted by her contractor saying that there has been a murder, but that it is so unusual in the way it was commited that she is being called in to help and so keep the humans from finding out what truly happened there, but when she arrives at the scene, she is shown in by a police officer who looks like he doubts what he is seeing as she doesn’t look old enough to have experience of dealing with these types of investigations. The brutality of the murders is the first thing she notices and the manner in which they were killed is devastatingly familiar and that is before she has even properly looked at the bodies, but she knows exactly what did this, the thing she needs to find out now is why this family is dead. When she meets the captain of the police force there, she learns that she is being assigned a partner to investigate with, but after she requests to be alone with the scene, she confirms her original suspicions, even though she doesn’t want to. Later on in the day, she goes to a favourite haunt to have a drink and think about what she had found out that day, however, she senses someone nearby who could be involved and gives chase, however, when she gets close to them, they attack and this leads to more bodies like the ones at the house, but she loses sight of the person when they escape out of the back of the building.

Things start to get more complicated after she meets her new partner and that is when she realises that this one is going to become a thorn in her side, especially when the bodies start to pile up and any leads she has are either dead ends or things she can’t explain to the other officers on the team, she knows she is running out of time to figure it all out, but that doesn’t make it any easier on her. Will Dahlia be able to figure out who is killing these people and why while also covering it all up at the same time, or will the cat get out of the bag and reveal everything she has been trying to hide? This action packed urban fantasy will leave you wanting more as you are pulled in all the same directions as Dahlia as you try to figure things out with her.

Wow what an awesome start to a new series! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this book up but I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to reading more of the series. The author’s writing style was great, I was sucked in from page one and I couldn’t put it down. The characters were well developed and I felt like I was in Dahlia’s shoes as everything was happening. It was action packed and full of twist and turns! It didn’t end in a cliffhanger but there are hints that leave you wanting to read more. Go get this book now, because I would recommend it reading it asap.

Happy Reading!!

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in C. L. Schneider’s new series. It is a four star novel. Even though paranormal fantasy is not a normal genre for me to read, I still found this novel moved me and made me continue reading to find out what was going to happen next. The author was able to real me in with her excellent storytelling and realistic fiction. Have you ever wondered if there were “others” living among us? I know I have. Dahlias able to blend in with the humans because she is half human and half dragon. Although she was raised by the dragons, she has since flew the coup and has hidden herself among the humans on earth. She finds it necessary to try to disguise the “others” existence by having the humans see something else and cover up their crimes enough that they look like they could have been committed by a human. Only problem is that now it might be getting to be too much for her and the people looking for her are getting closer to bringing her back home.

NITE FIRE: FLASH POINT BOOK 1 BY C.L. SCHNEIDER – REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So very impressed! Anyone can tell you that fantasy is so not my genre to read, but I was intrigued and now I’m very impressed. Nite Fire: Flash Point is book 1 in the series by C. L. Schneider. This book follows Dahlia Nite who is a shifter that worked for Queen Naalish in the world of Dimera. Dahlia is half human and half dragon. Queen Naalish strips her of title of Executioner and sentences her to be executed herself. Obviously, Dahlia is a fighter so she flees to the human world. There she travels from place to place where she doesn’t stay very long. Essentially, she fights what is lurking in the shadows to stay alive. She ends up back in the town that she continues to return to because it was the one place that she truly loved. Now she is helping the police to solve a crime. This book was pretty amazing in the sense that the author sucks you in from the beginning and keeps you there the entire book! Not only is the storyline great but so is the way that the author describes things. She makes you feel like you are truly a part of the story. I do recommend this book and actually cannot wait to read the second book in the series. This book is about a strong woman heroine and her ability to continue to fight. You will not be disappointed.

This book is a huge match for its namesake. Flashpoint. This book moves at a fast pace and keeps you engaged as a reader. I loved this book from cover to cover. This is a supernatural shifter book and this author knows how to weave a very interesting story, with a lot of detail, a well developed plot and a ton of mysterious turns. Our main character, Dalia has found herself in an unknown place, away from her homeworld, and among humans. She left under extreme circumstances and there is no option to go back.

Lovers of Mystery, Supernatural, Shifter stories will love this story! I highly recommend this book!

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flash Point is Book 1 in the Nite Fire series.
Extremely descriptive starting from page one. It’s about Dehlia Nite whom is a lyrriken. Lyrrikens are Shapeshifters transforming between human and dragon.
Nite is an empath. She is a “traitor” in her own world and has lived in the human world for 97 years . She uses her ability to work at keeping the human world safe and seperate from the shape-shifters world. Often working with the police, she investigates
cases involving possible lyrriken, and gives the human world a plausible explanation for what happened while covering up what actually happened. At the same time as investigating the actual why. This book has a lot of gore and blood. There’s a bit of foul language. Some nudity and some laughs. Just when you think it can’t get any crazier, enter the twists! This book was great from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the second! 5 stars

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flash Point was an interesting 5 star read and book one in the Nite Fire series. This is a different genre for me and C.L. Schneider pulled me right in with her writing. The detail is amazing.

We start with Dahlia fleeing her homeland of Drimera due to a death sentence handed down on her. We jump ahead 100 years. She is a half-human/dragon who is has been hiding within the human realm avoiding the sentence that was given to her. She has been protecting those that have helped keep her safe.

When mysterious murders start happening, Dahlia knows who is responsible but doesn’t understand why. Dahlia starts to work on trying to solve the cases.

Will she be able to stop the murders? What will happen if her friends learn her secret?

There is so much that goes on, we get action, danger, suspense, and so much more. The secondary characters were great, we get some very interesting ones for sure. I really liked Dahlia and her strength and dedication to those she calls friends. We don’t end on a cliff hanger but we do get some leads into the next book in the series. If you’re looking for a great this is a series for you. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This story is from Dahlia Nite’s perspective. Dahlia feels so much and is trying to protect humanity. She is strong and still finding her way in this world. I really liked her as a character! I feel that C.L. Schneider gave us a lot of information in this first book in the Nite Fire. Although I really enjoyed this story, I did feel that parts of it dragged for me, but luckily would pick up after a few pages. After reading this book, I cannot wait to see the next adventure of Dahlia!

With this being my fourth book from this author you would think I would know what to expect from her, but C.L Schneider has once again created an unique read that is captivating, vivid, magical and utterly brilliant. The mentally visual read is stunningly descriptive with brilliant world building and great characters. This author has created a flowing read that keeps you invested in the story, so much so you think you are living the life of our main character Daliha Nite.

This read is filled with suspense, mystery, fantasy and danger. To make it even more enjoyable is that it’s a Shifter read, one that is unique and different from other Shifter reads I have read. This book is also filled with twists and turns throughout, and keeps you guessing for most of the story!

This is an amazing fantasy read that exceeded my previous expectations of this author, and captivated me from the get go, this read shouldn’t be missed. I’ll eagerly be awaiting Book 2 Chain Reaction to see how much more this story progresses!

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider

This is my first book by this author and it’s a genre I don’t normally read but the synopsis had me completely curious and I’m glad I took the chance. This was a great book and the storyline was unique and felt real enough that I almost could believe that Dahlia and her kind really do exist.

The beginning had me a bit confused but it didn’t take long to fall into a rhythm with the story. I started out not liking the character of Dahlia, the beginning made it very hard to find any sympathy for her. When she was forced to run away from her own world and found herself hiding in the human world I started looking at her differently and by the end of this first book she had grown on me.

While I am still not completely in love with this genre I found that the writing was simply amazing and it was a very smooth flowing and it was enough that I absolutely must read the next in the series.

Nite Fire: Flash Point is a paranormal fantasy by C. L. Schneider. I have not read this author before, so I was not sure of what to expect, but the reviews were fairly good. I don’t usually read this genre, having felt that I have read all there was to read from this topic. How wrong I was. I always marvel at how different each author is and the different stories and varied detail and character traits. These stories are always imaginative and creative. Nite Fire: Flash Point was no exception.

To the story. The story was dramatic, packed full of action, deception, danger, and lovin. The energetic storyline is highly addictive, and this author is one I thoroughly enjoyed and will definately be reading more in the future. 4 stars.

By C.L. Schneider

I was very interested to see what journey C.L. Schneider would take me on with this book as I haven’t read anything by this author before, I was not disappointed, and I doubt that you will be either. If you enjoy books that have so much action piled into it then you need to do yourself a favor and get a copy. But be prepared for a long read. This book will take you on Dahlia’s journey, Basically Dahlia is a shapeshifter and has got herself into some trouble and is not hiding from people who want her harmed. Nite Fire Flash Point will also give you some mystery, magical encounters and monsters. I have to say the author has great writing skills and this book just seemed to flow. Some points in the book I was made to feel that I was almost part of the storyline. Can’t wait to see what happens in book two of the series.

This is the first book I’ve read from C.L. Schneider and I was presently surprised on how much I loved it. This story will completely suck you in!

We meet Dahlia who was exiled from her drag world over 100 years ago. She’s a master at keeping her dragon identity a secret from the human race until. She moves around so people don’t start questioning why she doesn’t age. She loves her job in the crime field because she’s helping to keep the secret of her world.

I absolutely loved the storyline and all the surrounding characters. The book reads like a murder mystery but then the author has a way to completely build this world up and it kept me glues to the pages! Can’t wait for this next one!

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the two part book Nite Fire by C. L. Schneider. This book is a shifter book which means it has fantasy, mystery, magic, dragons, and of course shifters. This story took me on a wild roller coaster ride. There isn’t a dull moment in the story. The characters are developed and not only are the primary characters awesome in the story so are the secondary. I love how Schneider interwove the “human” world with in the story. Dahlia Nite is a shifter but she is also an assassin. There is an execution warrant out for her and that is how she ends up in the “human” world. It is there were she uses her specialty to help people. Will Dahlia be found? Will she be able to help those around her? Read this story to find out. You may want to have a good amount of time to read because you will want to finish the book in one sitting.

Four Stars

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. This is the fourth book I have read by this author, which I believe is the total books written so far. I have to say that the world building and character development is well beyond the usual talent of a new author. This book is amazingly detailed and flowed smoothly throughout. I was hooked on the very first page and couldn’t put this book down. The story is filled with action, suspense and mystery. Dalia Nite has fled her home planet and taken up residence in the human world. She is isolated and protecting the humans without their knowledge for them allowing her to stay in relative peace. Things start to get messy when more non human creatures start causing trouble, but will Dalia be able to solve the mystery?
This is a great book and if you like paranormal, I highly recommend this book. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flashpoint is the first of the Nite Fire Series books from C.L. Schneider. I have not had a chance to read anything from C.L. Schneider before and so this was a new foray into her worlds and I was pretty impressed. She has a knack for scene building. I often felt as if I could say I was there myself. If I almost experienced first hand the adventures that Dahlia faced along her journey. This kept me on my toes and intrigued when I was a bit dragging in the story line area. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good novel, with a strong storyline. I just had a difficult time keeping everything in order at times and felt as if it was a bit much going on for me in one book. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what the other books bring in the series, as well as if they will be a bit more stretched out. I feel as if Schneider can take as long as she wants with this series. Its that great, I’d rather have more books spread out than complicated stuffed books.

Meanwhile in Flashpoint we meet and learn all about Dahlia Nite. She herself is a shapeshifting assassin and she is currently in a prickly situation. Hiding from people who want her dead she is in the human realm and hopping from town to town using her special skills to protect the people the way she knows how. There are murders and secrets, mysteries and monsters, magical realms and details that will be sure to haunt your thoughts long after you finish the last page. I can’t begin to tell you how dimensional this story gets. So strap in and prepare for quite the ride. I can’t wait to see what will come next in book two, Chain Reaction! Thanks so much for a great escape Ms. Schneider!

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider is the first book in the Nite Fire series. This follows the story of Dahlia Nite who has escaped execution by coming to Earth. She is a shapeshifting assassin who is redeeming herself on Earth by trying to protect the people from what lives in the shadows. This is a page-turner and kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing is well done and the characters are developed and interesting. I did not want to like Dahlia at first but could not help liking her as she was trying to help the people of Earth. This is a supernatural thriller and did not disappoint. Dahlia is not only a shapeshifter but part dragon and human. The human world and city are painted expertly then an added depth is added when we get a look at what is in the shadows. If you enjoy a good mystery I recommend this book especially if you like a supernatural twist to a story. I look forward to the next book in the series.
