I don’t always get to read stories about older people. I was really surprised at how it turned out. I shouldn’t have been Manda Mellett is a really good author. I found this story to be refreshing and believable. We all think that with age we are settled and there is no worries. In this story or lead Pasty is anything but settled. Her life hasn’t been easy. She is tired and ready for a change. I really understood Lost character. He couldn’t really find his way. There are days when you just don’t know which way to go. Liked that they both weren’t looking for it and yet they found each other. Being Lost is how most people are feeling in 2020. You just get up and do because there is someone counting on you. I really enjoyed this first book I am betting book 2 will be even better. I am happy that I got to read such a great story. The character great and the plot good. The author has a great flow.

Five stars because I laughed so hard while reading this story. The author really knew what she was doing when she put this together. The main female lead is so ornery and feisty it’s no wonder they want to stake her. I find the fact that they have to get a license to bite hilarious. I just couldn’t get enough. The male lead did upset me a little. Like you turn me because you think I’m you lost love. Nah that’ not how this works. Love me for me not just cause I remind you of someone. The author did a great job giving us something classic with a spin. I am looking forward to see what all the author has to offer. You don’t find many authors who make you go though ups and downs.

This is story that will have you ready to buy all of the authors books. The author gives you so much intense emotion with every page. The depth in which the characters play their roles is amazing. Do you keep the secret or give it all up for love? This was a very suspenseful story. I was shaking my head and omg-ing the whole time. India Kells writes a very compelling story. You will find yourself ready to throw the whole phone and yelling at the characters like they can hear you. I read this in one sitting and ready for more. Orla is a great character. Her development through the story was really good. From start to finish I was with her.

If you’re looking for a book packed with adventure and twists. This story is perfect for you. This is book 3 and it doesn’t disappoint. Alex and his team of Hunters are at it again. This time they find themselves exploring the history and power lust of Hitler. All their individual skill are going to be needed to see them through this challenge. I really enjoy this authors writing style. The words just flow together so harmoniously that you become lost in the pages. The characters are well developed and you get a feel for who they truly are. I was not ready for the story to be over. I really liked all the turns the author took. You also see a different stand on Hitler and how he was power hungry. History is a fascinating and mysterious things. Because there are always three sides. I can’t wait to see what the next adventure the author will take me on.

Being a mom is hard enough add in all this extra mystical and church agendas. Makes it look impossible. I have enjoyed this author and am a little sad to see it end. This is a series but can be read as standalone stories. I like the time difference and the authors writing style. I would hate to be the lead in this story to be put in the middle of someone else’s issues. To be put in a position where you might have to leave your kids. I definitely bonded with the lead in many parts of this book. My kids are always the first thing I think of when making a decision. Their well being comes first. It was a very interesting read. Not my normal genre but I like to step outside my bubble and explore. I recommend you do the same.

Shattered Snow (The Mirror Chronicles Book 1) by Rachel Huffmire – Review by Gail Guerrero

I love when I find a story that draws me in fast. Where the author hooks my attention and I get consumed in the story. This is a retailing of a classic but with a twist. Well many twists. You don’t just get the typical “Once Upon A Time”. You get an adventure. The story has many selling points. The one I found the most interesting was the time travel. The way it worked and how the author interpreted it into the story. The characters growth and bond an amazing thing to witness. I could hardly put it down. The author made you think. I’m extremely excited that I found this story. The author has an interesting way of telling stories. The flow of the words on every page just beautifully written. There was only one thing I got messed up on it was keeping up with the laws and timeframe. Overall you will not be disappointed in this story. Not many stories out there that do so well in taking something you already love and giving it an amazing twist. There is romance but it’s not the main focus. That truly makes the love that they share seem more genuine.

The Fire God Tour is a story about the music industry. You get an interesting look into a lot of different aspects of the business. I found the author’s writing style to be smooth. The characters were well written and the plot interesting. Another book to put on the must read again list. I found myself really interested in Ari and Bella’s story. They worked so well together. I also saw how he respected her and her work. I’ve always felt that life is too short for fear but without fear how do we know when it’s too much? A good amount of fear is healthy but Bella’s fear stopped her. The bond between them grows beautiful and I definitely recommend this story.

Shattered Reality (Summoned Book 1) by C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author – Review by Gail Guerrero

Reading Shattered Reality was quick and enjoyable. C.A. King takes you to a place that gives the mind a little shake. Making you question your reality. Could everything really be as it is or is it a mirrored image of a different reality. I really liked the spin with the mirrors and magic. The fact that Mudesa didn’t believe in any of it gave the story a kick. I really enjoyed the plot. The story had a really nice flow and no sidetracking. I did find it annoying that she didn’t believe magic for so long with everything happening around her. Perry is a creepy character for me. The way he appeared through the story. Then you find out why and the pieces fall into place. I also like that I couldn’t figure out the story line from the start. Like I said it’s a good read with a little magic.

Have you ever read a story that just made you smile for no reason? That’s how I felt reading this book. It was sweet and beautiful. You have two people wanting to live a dream that others don’t see for them. But the beautiful part that dream is something they share. One has no time for love while the other holds a secret. I really enjoyed the characters. They fit together perfectly like puzzle pieces. The author definitely gets you a great story for you to fall in love with. I found myself investing in the happiness of Hunter and Kennedy. Even knowing it’s fiction I wanted the best for them. I recommend you read this story if you want something sweet in between the spicy.

Curse of the Sands is a book to get lost in. I found this story to be enthralling and adventurous. There was no part od the story that I did not enjoy. Even the characters I didn’t like where enjoyable because they were written so well. This author really knows how to capture your attention and deliver the unexpected. I almost felt like I was reading two different stories. One of the past and the other the present. I don’t think that’s an easy thing to accomplish but the author pulls it off well. Adam is my favorite character so far. He gives off cocky vibes but is really insecure about his worth. I really found the theme of the book intriguing. Ancient Egypt! Long lost history filled with mystery, curses, traps and legends. I couldn’t help but to fly through this book. Definitely worthy of a second read.

Better to Have Loved was a good read. The story flowed nicely though you do have to get used to the timeframe jumps. I really enjoyed the characters especially Julie. Her adventures and journey through life are interesting. I found the story to be emotional and beautiful. The author really put a lot of thought into this book. The fact that it’s based off her parents makes it even more wonderful. The emotions you will feel will have you sitting up reading all night. The story doesn’t drag on. It’s a very original plot and the author executes it phenomenally. I recommend you pick this up if you’re looking for a smooth read that is beautifully written.

Eternal Wanderings was an interesting read. The characters were growing while they continued their journey. Kara was looking for her place among her people. But even that seemed like a long shot. Everywhere she went trouble seemed to follow. You could feel the animosity coming from the Romani. The fact that they didn’t except her made no sense to me. I have to say that it was a little too short for me. Though her journey is far from over. The author did a good job developing the characters. I also felt like there was many points that the author made you really think about how you would handle the situation. A very interesting series about finding who you’re and following your own path. Though Kara hasn’t found hers yet.

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book One) by Allison West – Review by Gail Guerrero

Three Stars

Her Billionaire Daddy started off good. The story has a nice base. The author’s writing style wasn’t bad it had a nice flow to it. The story just lacked real emotions to me. There’re parts missing to me. Like we skip the arguments and assume everything was worked out. There didn’t seem to be a connection emotionally with them. It just moved too fast. I liked where the author was trying to go with the story. The characters didn’t develop enough for me. Then there is the Daddy and Little parts. I honestly felt like it was thrown in there to make it something different. I would say that the author has potential to make a really good story if the things missing filled in. Like this was a short story so maybe a full story would be better. I will definitely look out for longer books by this author. So that I can form a better opinion. Like I said it definitely showed potential.

This box set was funny, sexy and down right dirty. I enjoyed every page. I really liked the stories flow and how it all came together. The characters were well written. They developed well also. Cy had to be my favorite guy he is just sigh. The last book Naughty and Nice had me shook the most. He is a minister lol. I had my mouth falling open more than once while reading this box set. There were some hmm moments but it didn’t take away from the overall quality of the books. I definitely recommend this if you need a change from the typical books.

Rookie Moves was a quick read. The author gives you a peak into the life of a football rookie. I was thinking this was going to be typical but it wasn’t. I liked that Grant was willing to change to keep him future bright. That he wasn’t going to let his faults ruin his football career. At first I didn’t really like Emily because I thought she was going to lead him down the wrong path. Her character was definitely flawed. But she changes and so does Grant’s. It was a nice story that gives you a nice view of professional athletes.

This story was really sweet. Kara and Julian have a beautiful story that makes you feel warm inside. I really liked the innocence the story presented. It’s like an old school love. Where it’s not forced or too fast. Everything just flows together into a beautiful harmony. Julian’s character was interesting. He didn’t give you jerk vibes or too good to be true vibes either. I found him to be a nice mixture or both. Kara was a little too straight lace for me. Like be wild and free for a change. Life is about living and learning. Trying something different. Messing up and learning to fix it so you never do it again. I really like this author and I will definitely be taking a look at more books by her. It just made me feel good inside while I read it.

Dare Game (The Irish Garda Files Book 1) by Melinda Colt – Review by Gail Guerrero

5 Stars

Dare Game gave me serious chills. I was shocked and sad by this story. The Game that was played was sickening. The thought that people would do these things just for money. The simple fact that people find joy in manipulation and fear is terrifying. I really liked John’s character. He was brave, strong and very reassuring. I like that he didn’t back down or send someone else to do the hard work. He got over his past for his future. Amber and Hayley were also well written. The author showed that even when faced with the unknown there can still be hope. That believing in someone or something can change your outlook on the situation. I don’t usually do mystery books but this one took my interest and I was not disappointed. I really liked the way the story flowed. The author did a good job keeping my interest and not letting the suspense get out of hand. Like make me work for it but not too hard. Overall a goof read that most people can enjoy. Where you see your life going one way and reality steps in and sends you to place you never saw coming. Drew and Marielle story will touch your heart in so many ways. I couldn’t believe how good this story was. It was a quick read that will last a lifetime. I wish it was longer but I definitely got my daily dose of feels. I don’t think I would be as strong as these two characters with all they go through. I found Marielle to be strong and interestingly unique. Drew is headstrong and brave. This is my first book by this author. I don’t usually read young adult but something about this story really clicked with me. Here you have this amazing gifted young woman ready to take her talent to next level. In comes this young man with that bad boy charm that no sweet girl can resist. Her world starts to shift. No longer is her dreams only about jazz but a passion she didn’t know existed. But what happens when her dreams and her wants don’t click? When everyone thinks they knows what is best? How will she learn to think for herself? When her relationship turns bad Megan truly has somethings to think through. I really liked this story even though I am much older. I found that I could understand how Megan felt when she found a desire and passion for something other than jazz. The author gives you a story with great detail and learning moments. I found myself rooting for Megan that she would do what was best for her and not what was expected. That she would learn that just because you love someone or desire to be with them doesn’t mean you have to. Especially someone toxic.

If you’ve read any of her other books you would understand where I’m coming from. The words jump off of the pages at you. Making you feel and experience every detail. The main character has been through so much. His pain is there with every struggle to keep straight. There’s no way you can not read this and not experience his suffering. I really enjoy this authors work. I haven’t been so thrilled in forever. I love the care and attention to detail that the author puts in the story. I felt like I was riding in the car with Petrosky. That I was there when that boy experienced all his pain. A must read.

It always amazes me how authors are about to grab your attention with a well placed word. Or a line in a story that just grabs. Or a character so well written you have no choice but to follow and listen. This author has become a favorite. This story is short, sweet and to the point. You don’t get the full effect just because it’s a novella. You still get the right amount to love the story. Cade and Nadia are fire on the page together. I felt like I was right there feeling the tense and frustration. You experience so much in these few pages. I felt like it was the cherry on top to a get story. We did have some mention of some Grey Ghost characters if you don’t know that series you’re truly missing out.

You can not deny that Phoebe Alexander can write a very compelling story. I story that drags you into lifestyles you hadn’t wanted to know about. You can go kicking and screaming but you enjoy every moment of it. I truly didn’t feel like I wouldn’t enjoy these stories seem because it’s not a life I would lead. But the way the author details these stories has you looking at it in a new way. You’re taken on a journey to find love but also yourself. You learn to accept and appreciate people for who they are. I feel like the author was telling you to not judge what you do not know or understand. I have read many books by this author and haven’t been disappointed. I recommend you give this trilogy a chance. The characters grow on you and you end up rooting for their perfect HEA. The journey to that HEA is a long and hard road and you need to know if they make it. The characters are well written and have that perfect about of depth, perfection and flaws that any good character should have. The emotions almost feel tangible.

This is my first story by this author. I thought it would be interesting read just by the summary. As the story progressed I learned that people can be truly selfish. Monroe was a tough character. She was hard for me to like. I felt her animosity throughout the whole beginning. I understood the reason but I didn’t agreed with how she went about it. I would feel some type of way as well but I wouldn’t take it out on the one wanting something better. The story flowed nice and it wasn’t overwhelming. It did take me a little longer to read just because I couldn’t find the vibe and enjoy I have with other books. I did enjoy certain parts. Like the cage and his bond with his family. The whole dog thing was super cute. The ending wasn’t as I expected so that was a plus

I really enjoyed the quirky moments. Due to Dan’s personality there was some very memorable moments. I loved how the author gave Dan a softer disposition. The author keeps you engaged with the flow of the story. I had a few misty eye moments. To think that the one you want and can’t forget could be a few steps away and you never know it. I love a good love/hate story. Gabby and Hunt can not stand each other. But once they get that first sinful taste all bets are off. You can’t continue to hate someone you’re falling in love with. I didn’t understand why they hated each other. It was simply miscommunication. Instead of verbalizing what the issue was they continued to be nasty to each other. Not caring how their relationship was affecting those around them. I found it extremely childish. I liked that Christian wasn’t just a douche that dressed like a 13 year old going through a emo faze. The author made it a quick light read and it wasn’t bad. It was very to the point you didn’t get too much filling in between them meeting up. Overall a nice read that doesn’t leave you guessing or wondering what’s next.

My jaw is on the floor. Omg I can’t believe what I just read. Its unimaginable but so real. To think that someone finally got the courage to say me too for men. It’s so sad that men do get the same benefit of belief that women do when they cry out for help. This story was too real. I felt like the author did an amazing job writing this story. It wasn’t too much and had the right amount of background. It would be nice to know what Julie was truly thinking and feeling. I am truly at a loss for words though. The trauma Brady experienced at the hands of his own mother. The one person meant to love him unconditionally. I cried because its unimaginable to me as a mother to do these things to my child. To physically harm them to the point that they could possibly die. Its unfathomable. I know they author heart broke with every word of this story. I see this as an eye opener for me. That we can’t take everything at face value. If the father hadn’t reacted the way he did. The outcome of this story wouldn’t be the one needed.

I’m in tears after reading this story. It was too much to handle. I can’t really understand Lyla’s point of view. I have read where women fall for their captors but this is a new level of it. The brutality felt through every page. The pain and fear dripped from the authors words. I was in shock. The story was not bad I just can’t find the good stuff. I can’t give it away because that would be pointless. But to read what these women are going through and for her to love him anyway is a hard pill to swallow. Lyla is a brave woman to try and escape and survive. I understood her confusion when it came to Breaker. Through the whole story I disliked him. He never had any redeeming qualities. I applauded his actions toward the end. I say before you read this story prepare your heart for the tragedy. It was an interesting read because it’s a life I couldn’t ever imagine. It was a story I wouldn’t wish on any enemy.
