Who: A Stalker Series Novel by Meghan Mitcham

I love stories where the lead females are so strong. I also liked that the author didn’t make the female lead hard. She made it to were women reading this story can realize they can run a company without a man at their side and still be soft and feminine. It sucks that men still think that women can’t do anything without them. That men in high positions don’t consider women for jobs they deserve because they are not men. Larkin was a boss but she also had issues. Family can build you up but they can also be the reason that you’re broken inside. The writing style was jumpy at first. I didn’t know who was speaking or thinking but it cleared up after a while. Overall I enjoyed this story though it creeped me out with some of the stalker moments lol. Beckett is scared in more ways then one and it takes it’s toll on their relationship. Though you can’t really call it that when there are so many secrets between them. Larkin is very emotionally unstable and I didn’t trust anyone around her.

This story had me in fits of laughter. Lexi is a goldmine. She was so honest about the reason behind her career choice. Honestly that sounds like a awful job seeing all those hot athletes in their birthday suits said no woman ever. Lol. I didn’t like the way Brett went about his revenge. Plus he never told Lexi. This story is perfect for a smooth read. Something you can sit down and enjoy without feeling like your wasting your time. The relationship between the characters was only tarnished by the secrets. They seemed real and perfect for each other. It’s crazy how our emotions drive us to do things we never would normally. For all intents and purposes Brett was a good guy he just got caught up in a foolish plot for revenge. Lexi was so vulnerable even though she portrayed such an outgoing and carefree persona. I felt like I glided through this story. It was very well written. Will most definitely check out more books from this author.

Must Remember: Dead or alive, they want her back. (Solum Series Book 1)

This story is the first glimpse we get of this authors new world. There are different species, different planets and powers. This story revolves around a girl named Elizabeth aka Beta. She knows someone is after her and willing to do anything to get her back. Marin is the chief and is attacked to Beta but she has feeling for Finn. This starts a wild love triangle that is just crazy. Beta doesn’t know who to trust with her emotions. Finn who doesn’t believe in fidelity. I wanted to reach through the book and slap Finn. This keeping his options open is complete bs. Marin was wrong for how he handled it. The story was good but it could’ve been stronger in the action department. With that being said you see read a lot about the relationships but not the story behind the other characters like Finn and Marin. I enjoyed the story and would definitely read more from this author.

Not knowing what you are and having no place to belong to is so scary. I felt bad for Pillar through this whole book. It sucks that people are judged by their appearance. This story was very interesting and different. I would’ve liked to know more about what Pillar is and the way that the magic works. The story was long and it was a good read. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this author. I liked that Pillar had some kind of guiding voice inside her. The author does a really good job of creating the twist and turns that the story takes. This story also dives into how inconsiderate and mean people can be. Pillar seemed to be a soft, quiet and fragile young girl. You kind of see her come into her own. But I definitely see room for growth. At some moments she reminded me of myself. When I need to be I can be present and dominate but all other times I keep to myself and just keep it moving. The demon aspect of the story was crazy. I couldn’t figure out if the demon Lord was a man or a woman because they kept saying my Lord lol. Overall I really liked how different this story was. It gave me a few laughs and I also got to dive into a new world.

Marks of the Mazza:Reversed Harem (Mazza Series Book 1) by Blake Blessing

Four Stars

This story wasn’t what I expected. This is both a good and bad thing. I thought the story was going to have more meaning and be about a girl coming into who she was meant to be. Instead you get a girl trying to navigate 4 relationships and possibly help stop a crazy villain. The story was bad it just lacked a goal. I didn’t really get the point of it. On another note I liked the start of Sage’s and Isolde. He was so standoffish and weary. She disliked him but was draw to him. He came from a troubled past and she did as well. I felt that once they get past that awkward moment they would be perfect. I don’t understand why people need multiple partners. On a good day I can hardly handle one. But to each their own. This is my first book by this author. Though I wasn’t overly impressed I will be reading the next story because you never know how it will change. Plus I need to know what happens with Sage. I also liked Rand because he kept it real with her from day one.

Savannah’s Saviors (The Cowboys of Cavern County book 5) by Bella Settarra

Four Stars

I’ve never felt the kind of love this book shows. Where you are willing and wanting to share your life with 3 people. From the story I got that these three people have a unique bond. That in their lives and heart there was room for more. Their personalities were a different. Savannah was so fragile and sweet. While Tom and Greg were alpha males to the max. But they never crossed that line. I didnt like how indecisive Savannah was. You either stay or go. I think She was overwhelmed and felt trapped. The flow of the words was a little stiff conversations didn’t read like any normal everyday conversation. There was a lot of excitement in this story but nothing that actually hooked me in and let me get a better picture of who our characters were and how they ended up at this point in their lives. Though I am not a fan of the subject I thought the author did a great job laying it out in a classy way.

Hidden: An Ash PARK Novel by Meghan O’Flynn

Five Stars

Meghan O’Flynn has done it again. This story continues the lives of two detectives and a attorney. Petrosky is an addict and some habits are harder to kick than most. I felt so bad for him through most of the books. But I also think he gave up too quickly. I have always felt that you can’t do something for yourself because of someone else. If you want to change it has to be because you felt something that made you want to be and do better. People might hold you to this place but your will to be here is what keeps you going every day. The author gave me chills with this one. I don’t understand how the author sleeps with these stories floating in her head. I’m off to watch a Disney movie after finishing this story. The kill blended in so well that it makes you want to question every stranger around you. The killers background shapes him to be this way and it’s a sad life kids have to live when they suffer at the hands of the ones who are suppose to love and protect you. I might be repeating myself but I will at it just in case I haven’t. This author could be on the same level as Stephen King. Every time I open his book I’m left looking over my shoulder and jumping at shadows. This author does that to me as well. I can’t believe how good this series has been so far. Murder, abduction, mystery and addiction from chapter to chapter you are spellbound into a world that compels you to keep going. Even when your scared.

This story was very interesting. I liked the combination of different races. Beta has met many of them but it isn’t really explained what that purpose was for. I don’t like love triangles they always end with someone feeling hurt. I did enjoy how the author shaped the male characters. Though Marin is a pure Alpha he shows such compassion and love for beta. Finn is super sweet and understanding he doesn’t stress her out or push her to pick one of them. I would recommend that you read the first book. Beta is very strong character and knows that the destroyers of earth will be coming back for her. She takes matters into her own hand and leaves Marin because she knew that as the Chief it would be harder for him.

It’s crazy how complete opposites attract but then you start to notice similarities. Rhia is like most people. We suffer from doubt and other insecurities. Wyatt felt like he had to repay his brothers for doing what they knew was right protecting their brother. The bond between the brothers is amazing and I related to the because I also have a lot of siblings. I felt that nth Rhia and Wyatt were a little clumsy. Both having their own issues and family drama. This story was very interesting because the author put the characters in a situation that helped them overcome situations. The characters helped each other and the growth between chapters is noticeable. This story is a quick read that will give you hope that even though life starts out crappy there is always a light at the end. That if you can have someone in your corner you can accomplish anything.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jilly is the type of female I love to hate beautiful, smart and spoiled. I kind of felt like her purpose in the story wasn’t needed. Like the author couldn’t figure out a way to put her into the story that would make sense for her to be around all the time. With that being said I liked the story because you get to see this controlling guy take a step back and relax. You see this guy who is used to getting things his way stop and think of a different approach. This is a first for me reading about this type of work. The bones that go into building something from the ground up. I liked that Jack’s team was the clean up crew they came in and got stuff done. There were some funny moments and the guys all preening like peacocks for Jilly’s attention was fun. The combination that Jilly and Jack made was interesting because he grew up the baby of the family trying to make his presence known. While she was sheltered and spoiled. You can tell that she was out of her comfort zone when she needed to use the restroom. Overall I recommend this story for a quick light read.

This story was filled with jealousy, magic and forbidden love. Sera is a witch and has come to terms that she is blind. This wasn’t always the case though. Now she has to worry about getting around and also if someone would be coming after her for her powers. This story had everything in it. One scene after another filled with action. The author did a really great job with these characters. You can feel the connection the characters have for each other. I really liked Ian. He was so possessive. Like any good wolf should be. I also liked that the author pushed the boundaries when it came to different creatures or otherworldly beings finding love.

A new twist on shifters. This is the first book I have read by this author. Transformations was a interesting read because it took shifting a different route. Like your shifting multiple things not just one animal. At the age of 17 your emotions are already crazy but then you add in Kate’s transition and it’s even worse. Kate is like any 17 year old. She wants to have fun and be normal. But one fateful night many years ago chose something different for her and her family. The many gifts the families hold are so unique. Though Anastasia’s gift is the best. The story is very well written. The moments of heighten emotions are some what tangible. The family bond is felt through every member. The mystery of the spy is shocking. Overall I truly enjoyed this short read. It had a touch of humor and a whole lot of romance.

I can’t believe what I just read. It was so real and raw I felt like I was living the author’s words. Riley has an addiction but she doesn’t see it that way. Cam has loved Riley for a really long time but doesn’t think she notices him. I loved every word of this story because it told a story that we need to hear. Kids are out here suffering and we have adults feeding them drugs. The pressure these kids feel to be perfect to perform perfectly is heavy. The author did a great jib highlighting the life of young adults on two different paths trying to meet in the middle. Cam wants to help Riley but it seems like she is just dragging him down. She doesn’t believe she needs help but clearly something needs to change. I felt angry at her parents and how they enabled her. The mom should’ve known that the manager was shady and kept him away. Over all it was a great story that made you want to hold Riley and tell her there was a better way and that you were there for her.

Fate dealt Finn a sad hand. A mate that wasn’t a true mate. Overcome with grief he became cold. Losing who he thought was his true mate made Finn an amazing leader and boss. Even through the pages he demanded respect. He was such a strong character. Delaney was super goofy too me. Not haha goofy but like things kept happening and she didn’t know how to react. I really enjoyed this story. Dragons are those creatures that you wish were real but also fear. The beautiful way the author described them and the power they commanded. A very well written story on second chances, trust and love. You can tell the difference between his first mate and Delaney. His need claim was different . He only hesitated because he had already killed one mate.

This story had me in tears and ready to throw my phone. How one person can endure so much pain and suffering. Lily is this out of touch young girl who is finally getting some freedom. She wasn’t looking for love but it found her in the form of Jack. Who is a smart guy but is truly a bad boy. I enjoyed this story because it was so raw. The emotions you feel from hearing Lily’s pain and all her despair. You don’t just get a happy ever after you get a story full of ups and downs. You get to see the pain and joy that we all experience in everyday life. The author did an amazing job bringing these characters alive. They were given so much depth that this could be based on a true story. I couldn’t get enough of Jack and his bad boy ways that hide his intelligence. I felt really bad for Lily and how she was raised and how little she knew of the outside world. This is a must read the story will have you ready to beat someone for all the injustice.

Wow all I can say is wow. This story held me by the throat the whole time. Not one rime did I feel like it wasn’t worth it. I truly enjoyed every word this author typed. The characters were real and likable. Their joys and pains a tangible thing. Not your average adult romance story. Wyatt is all alpha male and he is HOT! He doesn’t do relationships or long term its all one night. He wasn’t ready for Circe and what she represented. The thrill from the suspense of what will happen next had me on the edge of my seat. The flow of the story was crafted beautifully. I was lost in this authors word and didn’t want it to end. It’s not often that I find someone who catches my full attention with the words of their imagination. This author brought these characters to life and made me believe that they’re as real as you and me. Definitely a must read. A book you will want to sit down with a glass of wine and get lost in the pages.

An Exaltation of Larks (Venery, #1)An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a confusingly beautiful story. The beginning was my favorite. How the Author wrote these characters into life. The characters where given more than just another story. They were given true life. No life is perfect we have ups and downs. We just learn to navigate it better. I wasn’t a fan of how everything went down. But it was beautiful in it’s tragedy. Alex and Val have been destined for each other from the first time they didn’t let language be a problem. I loved reading their story and how they found each other after years of pushed aside affection. You add in Jav and things get really hot. I wasn’t expecting the ending but I am glad it ended the way it did. I would’ve had a hard time accepting their relationship when Jav didn’t want Val too just Alex. I see them as a packaged deal and Jav and Alex broke it. Val was amazing like I couldn’t cope with the thought of someone else loving my man. But she was so understanding and brave to try and make everyone happy. I think if they crossed that line anymore relationships would’ve been lost. Not saying it wouldn’t work just that someone would’ve been hurt and it would be Val. Love is a powerful and painful thing.
