Jesse is the third book in the Glass City Hearts series by Desiree Lafawn. I am not sure how Ms. Lafawn manages to outdo the last book but she definitely did it with Jesse. I will admit that he is AWESOME and the hotness and sultry vibe still roles on in book 3.

Jesse had different plans for his life but with family and loyalty being what he was taught growing up he finds that it’s not something he can ignore. So life finds him tending bar and giving up on his dreams.

Harlow Jones is not your usual girl. With a knack for fixing anything mechanical and a whiz at the computer, she knows she’s different. To better her life and that of her son Harlow just needs to land this job at Glass City. What she wasn’t expecting were the complications that come with meeting Jesse.

Ms. Lafawn has captured my interest with the unique flow of her writing. From the bevy of old characters that we get to re-visit to finally being able to have the ending to Jesse’s story the reader is taken for an emotional ride that will have you laughing (and maybe wanting to relocate to a new living area) and crying as these two characters learn about themselves and each other. This book is extremely well written and will keep you entertained from the first page to the last. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Series book 3) by Desiree Lafawn – Review by Ashleigh Harrington

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3)Jesse by Desiree Lafawn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jesse by Desiree LaFawn is the third book in her Glass City Hearts series, and while I have loved each of this series books this is honestly my favorite to date. Jesse has got it all – romance, suspense, drama and tugging at my heart strings. Following the stories of Jesse and Harlow you get to see just how much these two are willing to sacrifice for family. For Jesse his family is everything. Growing up with a father who drilled it into you that Family is more important than everything else, he knew that at a drop of a hat he would give up his life for his blood. Jesse has always wanted to own a bakery, but he puts his dreams on hold to take care of his father’s bar. He was always fine just working away for the family business, until her. Meeting Harlow, his whole perspective on family changes. This woman calls to him in a way that he never expected, and that pull is enough to make he do anything to keep her in his life. Can Jesse take his dreams and make them work with Harlow? Or will he need to forge his own path away from family before he can commit to a ready-made family with Harlow and her son?
Harlow is a woman that just can’t see to get this being a female thing right. Other than having her son just over five years ago, she is more of a tom boy than ever. She has always been a hardworking, determined woman who would do whatever it takes to give her son the best life possible…no matter the cost. Just when she has plans to get a bit closer to the future that she envisioned for herself, the duties of a single mother get in the way. And then she meets Jesse. There is something about this guy that keeps her coming back for more. Is it possible that she can have a great guy and her visions of the life she planned with her son? Will Jesse be willing to work with her or be wanting to change her? Can she chance her heart on someone new? Read this steamy story to find out! Having read all of the Glass City Hearts series prior to this, I had very high expectations for this book, and LaFawn did not let me down one bit. I highly recommend reading these books in order, even though each book can be read as a stand-alone story. I can’t wait to see where she takes this series in the future because from where I am at, I can only see it continuing to get better and better!

Do you ever come across an author who, every time you read them, makes you love them even more? This is one such author for me. Jesse was soooo funny at times, making me laugh loudly and get funny looks. Beyond that, though, is good story. It has characters from previous books but can be read totally on it’s own. Jesse is sweet but also delicious, and Harlow is such a good mom and deserves every moment of happiness coming to her, especially since she has raised such an awesome little boy. Things get a little crazy near the end, which I kind of figured they would. And I was in tears at one point. I just loved this hard.

Jesse by Desiree LaFawn is a must read! As I sit here writing this review I’m having a hard time finding the right words to describe how much I loved this book! It’s intense, dramatic, captivating, sweet, quirky and romantic. Jesse is the 3rd book in the Glass City Hearts series, it also happens to be the first book I’ve read in the series, so I can honestly say that it can be read as a standalone. I was able to jump right in and follow along with no confusion. Having said that I will immediately be diving into the first two books of the series because I loved this one so much.

I immediately connected with Harlow and Jesse’s sense of humour and inner ramblings had me swooning from chapter one. The only downside to this book was the length, I could have continued reading about these two for hours.

I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and I would definitely recommend this book to others!

AMAZING!! That’s the word I would use to describe this book! I absolutely loved every second of it. I was hooked from the very beginning and I never wanted it to end! I have read books by this author before and I love her writing style, her books are truly a joy and pleasure to read. I think Jesse and Harlow are two of my favourite characters that I have read so far this year, they were relatable and I connected with them straight away. I loved the chemistry between the two of them. I really loved Harlow! She was just so amazing to read about. Jesse – oh be still my heart – I LOVED him! I didn’t want the story to end because I wanted to read more about him!
This book could be read as a standalone but you will not regret reading the others book in the series at all! I loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to read more from this author again in the future!!

Jessie is the third book in the Glass City Hears series from Desiree Lafawn. I would highly recommend that you read the other books in the series before you read this one. Now with that said, you can read this as a standalone. I would keep in mind a few things though. There are several characters and their story lines that make appearances in this book. This series is a great series. Each book tops the one before it, a task that I keep finding harder to accomplish but proven wrong by Ms. Lafawn. Jesse happens to be my favorite so far!

Jesse is such a sweet romance. He himself is a sweet character. I truly enjoyed reading him and Harlow only sweetened the deal that much more. This was their story. Jesse manages the bar his father owns. It really isn’t his passion though and to make matters worse the relationship he has with his family is strained at best. Then he meets Harlow. There is a pretty intense connection between the two off the bat. Harlow needs a job to take care of her son. Jesse wants to help out. How will the workplace romance work out? Can they find happiness together?

I just loved all the sweet and wholesome feel-good love in this book. It was nice to light happy love story to coo at for a few hours. I can’t wait to see what will come next in the series. Thanks for another great read Ms. Lafawn!

Jesse is the third book in the Glass City Hearts series. It can be read as a standalone. This book does reference events that happened to the other characters, and now I want to go back and read the previous books because they sound like great stories, lol.

I had no idea what to expect from this book when I chose to read it, but it proved to be an entertaining read. It has a great mix of humor, sarcasm, mystery, danger, romance, and family drama. The characters were easy to connect to and the story hooks you in right away.

Also note that there are a couple of places in the story that get you in the feels, so have some tissues nearby.

Cute story, sweet and funny. This is only the second book I have read by this author however it is the first in the Glass City Hearts series. I can say that I will read the other books in this series because I really like Lafawn’s writing style. She keeps the story moving with characters that make you laugh out loud at their situations and the things they say.

Harlow is a single mother and out heroine in this story. She is trying hard to make a better life for her and her son.

Jesse our hero of this story is just trying to help his drunken dad run their bar. Jesse doesn’t even know Harlow is what’s missing in his life. He is very swoon worthy, responsibly, loyal, funny and sexy with that beard of his.

When these two first meet, Harlow’s son causes an embarrassing situation. Jesse, however, handles it with ease and grace. Again, swoon worthy!

I look forward to reading more stories by Lafawn. I plan on reading the others in this series just so I an see what the other characters are up to.

Jesse is book three in the Glass City Hearts series by Desiree Lafawn. It is a mixture of suspense, determination, strength, courage, tension, passion, love, triumph. It has loads of everything. Everything that makes you think hard, breathe hard, cringe hard, laugh hard, cry hard, pray hard, rejoice hard. A romance with it all.

Jesse melted my heart as well as raised my blood pressure. He sounded all sorts of hot. Pleasure getting to know him. Harlow displays a strength that is admirable. She does what she has to do. She is great at what she does. She is tough femininity personified. Add in the characters from earlier in the series, and you have one story you just cannot put down. They are colourful, cantankerous, courageous, and day they make no apologies for that.

Jesse was an unforgettably decadent read. 5 stars.

***sigh***

Sitting here trying to find the words to describe the love I have for this book, and for this series, and most especially for this author. I saw this book and it was a no brainer, must have now and here I sit seriously wanting to go read it all over again, which leads me into my only negative for the story…It ended…

Yes I guess you could technically read this as a standalone but I can’t imagine not having all of the other stories to go with this amazingly awesome cast of characters…You truly have to start with Permanence of Pain although not listed as part of this series, it kind of is in my opinion then move on to Gabe then Dino and then…Jesse…I can not pick a favorite of any of these but Jesse was different, gave me that comfortable warm feeling while reading it.

Harlow surprised me in a good way. At first I thought she was going to follow the path of most damsels in distress and be all needy and weak…No No No….she was awesome!! There was just enough of everything in this story, the witty interaction between all of these characters and the families was perfect, and then the twists…I hadn’t even totally wrapped my mind around the first one before the second one blew me away.

I still just don’t have the words to give this author the justice she deserves for this addition to this amazing series…I’m not even playing when I say you have to read these books and I just know you will fall in love as I have.

I’m hoping with all I have that there’s more to come, whether it be new characters or just a whole book about the ones we already know and love…I don’t care, I just want more!!

Beautiful Story!!

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn – Review by Emily Walsh

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3)Jesse
ByDesiree Lafawn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn was a fast pace, light hearted, fun, sweet, heart pounding read that had me hooked.

This series has to be my fav of the year. I will say that, unlike the other two before it, this book was fairly shorter. In say that, though this book is a standalone like the others, the timeline is connecting, and there are major spoilers from the other book, that and, this book gives no character background info on some major players. So I suggest you read the other two book before this one.

Because this is a short story I’m not going to get into characters. If you have been following this series, then you will recognize our main male MC, Jess. Who was the bartender that appeared in book one and two, and was Angels “boss” in book one. I’ve like him since book one, and was so happy that he gets his own story. Not only that, this one was a little more special because, unlike the other two books, were the two love interest already knew one another, Harlow and Jess were strangers, that had a fated meeting.

Now as I said this book moves fast, as does the timeline. But because of the smooth writing and excellent timing nothing felt missed. The love wasn’t a inst-love situation, and naturally grew and it was sweet as hell. I will say that this book is tame compared to the other two, with just one smut scene. It was hot, don’t get me wrong, but it was just.. so unlike the other books, that this book felt like more a novella, like a inbetween book rather than part of the main series. Even though there is some key plot points, and a super plot bomb connecting to another key character from the second book, I just felt like, there could have been more. There was lack of build up to the main climax, that as emotional as it was, it felt a little disconnecting.

I just felt like there could have been so much more done with this book, especially around Harlow. She’s a badass mom, who I felt didn’t get her story fully told. Just saying that this book, with the material given, could have been full size, and just as or even more amazing then it is now.

Overall this book was just fantastic, and I really hope there is more to come from this world. I believe there is more story to tell and more adventures to be had. This rang-tag-team could definitely get their own series, apart from this one center around the security firm. Fingers crossed….

What that said I will leave you with my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

I am a very family oriented person and a firm believer that family is what you make of it, some of the closest families aren’t blood relatives at all.
I was already drawn to Jesse knowing it was the third book in Desiree Lafawn’s Glass Hearts Series but after reading the synopsis I was completely sold.
Jesse is a book that intrigued me from the very beginning with a touch of drama but really kept hold of me with its wholesomeness. I was really hooked from the moment Jesse and Harlow crossed paths. I truly loved both Jesse and Harlow and the uniqueness of these characters. So often (I think) the single mother in a romance is portrayed as a damsel in distress and we don’t see very many sensitive men so it was refreshing to have such relatable characters that were more “outside of the box”.
Overall Jesse is a sweet romance that touches upon families in more ways than one with the perfect amount of twists, turns and smiles along the way. Despite being part of the Glass Hearts Series Jesse reads really well as a stand alone. I am someone that gets excited when I’m reunited with characters from past stories so I recommend reading the whole series because they really are great books but you definitely don’t have to in order to love this one.

What a sweet story with a side of danger! I loved it! The story was so good and one with stuff i didn’t see coming. The characters I fall in love every time. The writing is so easy and effortless. I feel like these are my best friends while reading.

I loved Jesse. He is so unassuming and reliable. He just snuck up on me and the next thing….BAM! Here is a sweet sexy guy who cooks and makes DESSERT! What woman wouldn’t love that! When he made dinner for her and was so disappointed he forgot an ingredient??? Just because he wanted it perfect for her! So cute!

Harlow is a smart tough cookie. She has risen from the ashes and is moving forward. I enjoyed her excitement when she got the job. Her speech to Jesse at his house? So so incredibly amazing. Those are just a few of my fav Harlow moments. Her son JJ is a complete asset to the story. Or maybe I should say scene stealer! He is adorable and I laughed at his antics!

One of my favorite things about this authors writing…her weaving. She weaves the characters from previous books into the new story so flawlessly. There is no disconnect from one character to another. They are all growing and laughing and loving as the series moves along.

On that note…it was so lovely to see all the previous characters in the series. Dino….man he is so stiff but he has that other side of him. It’s great to see him to continually grow. Also loved seeing Beck and I didn’t realize Jesse’s bar was where he met Regina! Loved that connection!

Actually all these characters are a treasure and I am pleased to be able to hang out with them.

The story Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn is a contemporary romance book. There is a bit of mystery and suspense included. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Jesse and Harlow. Jesse is the manager at the bar his father owns. He has been trying to successfully run the bar even with the problems that he has with family. Jesse’s first love is to bake. Relationships and intimacy are a mystery to him. Harlow is a woman who is good with mechanical things. Give her something electronic to fix or play with and you find that she is very capable. Love and relationships not so much. She is someone who needs a job in order to take care of her son who she adores. When Harlow and Jesse meet a connection seems to form between them. Jesse is a good judge of character and Harlow is someone he wants to help. Will Jesse and Harlow act on their attraction to each other? Will they find happiness together? Read this book to find out. There are other characters that make an appearance in the story that have been brought forward from previous books in the series. I love when this happens as you get to learn what they have been doing since last you read of them. It is like checking in with friends. I also enjoyed the way that they interacted with Jesse and Harlow. There are “Aww” moments in this story and also scenes that had me with a smile on my face or laughing out loud. This is a wonderfully written story with amazing characters. I highly recommend reading it.

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn is the third book in the Glass City Hearts series and can be read as a standalone but I would read the books in order to understand the supporting characters. I love this family of misfits and how they all fit together and how they each have the others back. There is a twist that you never would have seen coming. I loved the crazy humor and I laughed and cried as our unassuming hero found something he wasn’t looking for. I love Desiree’s writing and always found it easy to get lost in her words and these characters and found it was over before I wanted it to be. It is a contemporary romance with an engaging storyline and amazing chemistry. It is also full of suspense and lets not forget our hero who is endearing and funny and will make your heart melt. This is a second chance story that should not be missed.

This story was super cute. Jesse was the perfectly imperfect guy. We all want a man that isn’t afraid to hide his feelings. We want a partner in every way. Harlow is a single mom doing her best. It sucks that so many men and women end up raising children alone. I completely understand her emotional state. I really enjoyed the way the author wrote this story. The words had a happy flow to them. You could feel the characters emotions at the right moments. There truly are amazing people in this world and I liked that Harlow found her family. We all need people to stand behind us and next to us. I recommend this story for a light quick read that will give you warm feelings inside.

The third book in the “Glass City Hearts Series”, JESSE can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. I would absolutely recommend that you read the first two as they are great stories and we get to revisit the characters in this story.

JESSE has it all. It’s a wonderfully sweet romance – hmmm now that I think about it – it is a “sweet” romance as in there is no sex and I actually don’t remember any swearing. There are only a few characters in the story so it’s easy to know who is who and why everyone is where they are. Having said that, there is a lot going on. It’s definitely not a one dimensional story line.

I enjoy the way this author writes. There is a flow to her stories that moves them along at a really nice pace. The stories are well plotted and there is a very clear beginning, middle and end. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I think Jesse is my favorite in this series. There is just something about him that is sweet and endearing. (Please don’t tell the others.)

Jesse by Desiree Lafawn is the third book in her Glass City Hearts series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although all are definitely worth reading.
Jesse has had a hard upbringing. With an emotionally absent father he has learnt the hard way that he has to stand on his own two feet. And the way he grew up has effected his adult life. He doesn’t want a family, doesn’t expect to find love. But when he meets Harlow everything starts to change.
A single mother she is everything he should stay away from. And yet he finds himself drawn to her, finds he can’t stay away. And the more time he spends with her Jesse starts to learn that, unlike what his father always said, blood isn’t always thicker.

This series just gets better and better. This book has to be my favourite so far. I loved Harlow as a character. I loved that the author made her completely unlike the usual heroine type. She was strong and independent and completely unfeminine in the best kind of way. This is a great book and a great series, I would highly recommend them!

I laughed and cried and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next story. I loved the story of Dino and Jeanette and the bonds between the characters. Gabe is the first book in the Glass City Hearts by Desiree Lafawn and it is a winner. Desiree has thrown everything you could want in a book and it comes together seamlessly. This story is intriguing and mysterious, sexy and hot, realistic and yet unbelievable. There is threats and crime, sleaze bags and terror, laughter and sadness but underneath it all is such sweetness it will knock you for a six.

The characters in this book are lovable and funny but Greta and Jolene are such a hoot, that you can’t help but laugh out loud with their antics and want to be their best friend. I hope we get to read more of these wonderful characters in the future.

What happens when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time? Who do you turn to when your life is in danger? What happens when you come face to face with a past that tore you to shreds? How can you reconcile a past with your future? What happens when you are so consumed with sadness that you don’t know how to move on?
