Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 3 of The Green Brotherhood series. They can be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different member of the brotherhood. This is a romance story where the Seal is handsome and charming and definately a man who isn’t ready to settle down. Our leading lady in this story has just got out of an abusive relationship and her ex isn’t quite finished with her yet.

You can’t help but fall in love with Cutter and Zarifah. There has never been a woman that could hold Cutters attention for long until he met Zarifah.
Zarifah on the other hand loves how supportive he is towards her dancing and the chemistry between them grows and sizzles.
However there is one shadow lurking in the background. Zarifah’s abusive ex.
When he turns up to her dance show can Cutter be the man to protect her from the danger her ex is planning?
Will their attraction grow into something more? Will Cutter’s granny finally see him settle down with a nice girl?
These books are short reads but they are action packed and full of sizzling chemistry.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a quick read but very entertaining. I enjoyed the character growth in both main characters Cutter and Zarifah. Zarifah is trying to recover from being in an abusive relationship and Cutter dates strippers and has no intention of getting into a serious relationship. As the story progresses things change about how they feel about relationships and the opposite sex. The author did a great job pulling me into the story and keeping turning pages. You must read to find out how it turns out for Cutter and Zarifah.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Seal Team XII series. It can be read as a stand alone but you would enjoy it more if you read the earlier books. Each of the books in this series give readers a story of each Seal finding love. This story is about the Seal named Cutter. He is a man who enjoys life and women but his latest date leaves him dismayed and doing some inner perspective. A chance meeting with beautiful dancer named Zarifah changes the direction his life is going in and soon he finds himself doing what he swore he never would do again. Their story is a fast paced one that contains not only romance but action as well. The pace is quick and the plotline was interesting but I would have enjoyed more of a storyline. The characters needed a bit more depth for me to connect with them. I do like seeing the camaraderie between all the men on the seal team. It is nice to see how they all enjoy being together and work well not only as a team but as friends.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Saving the Bellydancer was alright. It’s the author’s return to the Green Brotherhood. These books are typically shorter. They also work just as well as standalone novels. I’ve read the others and though this one is good, I can say it’s not my favorite one. You may feel differently so don’t let that deter you. Maybe even let it make you consider reading the two that came before it.
Cutter is a live in the moment guy when it comes to women. Quick, easy, move on type of guy. Doesn’t want to be tied down, despite his grandma’s urging. But having a conversation with Mrs. Brown at his fellow Navy Seals wedding makes him reevaluate his self and life.
Zarifah is newly single, after leaving her abusive ex-fiancé. Trying to protect herself and navigate life back to what it once was for her. When she consumed herself in dancing and gymnastics. Her ex started to pull her away from that, so now it’s time to find her center. What she didn’t expect to find was a gorgeous Navy Seal who can speak flowers. A man who could potentially protect her from her past but who also sees her as well.
Does Cutter have to protect her?
Are they free to know one another no issues?
That and many more questions come to mind while reading. Some of those went unanswered for me, but that could be from the shorter nature of the story. Plus its extras weren’t necessarily central to the main plot line. The author did what was needed to give you start to end. With a solid plot.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tony “Cutter” Cuttino is a SEAL and has a great appreciation for strippers but for their abilities and strong athletic bodies not for the reason you think. He wants to find a stripper that he can take home to meet his Grandma but is that even possible? Will he find the one to meet his requirements and be satisfactory to meet Grandma? Poor Cutter only seems to find the slutty ones who would never meet her approval. That is until Zarifah comes along. His friend invited him to go to a Belly dance showcase and he spots the woman of his dreams: fit, athletic, and beautiful. Zarifah has just experienced a major break-up with a very abusive boyfriend and is still hurting from the abuse. Their budding relationship is in jeopardy when Zarifah’s ex shows up at a performance and causes all kinds of trouble. Can Cutter save the day and his new- found love? Great story and a quick and easy read. The characters are well-developed and very easy to empathize with. I was in an abusive relationship and I can see my thoughts and feelings in Zarifah. Spot on! I highly recommend this book to all.

Enjoyable romance. Navy seal Cutter and belly dancer/gymnastics teacher Zarifah both have their own reservations about being in a relationship when they met and yet are exactly what the other needs. The author did a great job pulling me in and keeping my attention. I really enjoyed both the main characters and look forward to reading more by this author.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the SEAL Team 12 series, and once again Debra Parmley draws me in with her relatable characters and realistic story lines. The real-world themes and how not only the enemy of the story plays out but the way the main characters handle things are realistic. We first meet Cutter in book one, more in passing but he is mentioned, and, in his story, he goes on the unintended adventure of finding his one person.
Starting out Cutter is on the way to yet another wedding of a SEAL brother, and he finds himself wondering if there is someone out there for him. Having his grandma and cousins was all that brought him back to the states after missions he didn’t need a permanent girlfriend holding him down that didn’t understand his job. Zarifah thought she found the one, until all the red flags made her find a way out, to be herself and to be happy. She was engaged but he thought the ring on her finger gave him control over her life. Being an American belly dancer makes her happy, she enjoys her job and life but her ex-fiancé wanted her to quit, and yet only focused on her dancer persona, never getting to know the real her. Cutter and Zarifah were drawn to each other both helping the other in ways they didn’t fully understand at the time. Until her violent ex returns crashing one of her performances determined that if he can’t have her no one can. Only Zarifah has a protecter and he will do anything and everything to protect her and get her free of her ex once and for all.
Will her ex be stopped in time? Is Zarifah truly his one person? Cutter loves everything about Zarifah, but can his grandma accept her? The author once again gives you characters that you can’t stop routing for. Cutter and Zarifah have a connection that is deeper than deployments and crazy exes can destroy. I once again couldn’t put down this book until I learned all of its secrets and look forward to hopefully another book in this series. Quick reads with real world situations and happy endings.

Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1) by Debra Parmley – Review by Ayla Phipps

Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1)Finding Bryce by Debra Parmley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Debra Parmley and honestly, I couldn’t put it down. Being an army veteran, I don’t usually read books with anything military related but something about this synopsis drew me in and I was not disappointed. This book is mainly told from the perspective of Diesel and Pippa, though it does have moments as other characters such as Diesel’s father and even Pippa’s ex-husband Stan. Groomed from a young age by Stan who is 15 years older than her Pippa married right out of high school, but the honeymoon phase quickly turned dangerous after her father passed away six months into their marriage. With no other choice Pippa ran, with nothing but her purse and the cloths on her back, she has been running and looking over her shoulder for over a year when she is in living in Virginia Beach and finally gets a call that Stan is in prison for three years, she is safe. Diesel called in with his SEAL team for a meeting before going back out on missions is home in Virginia Beach. Its Halloween and with help both end up at the masquerade party.
With the fresh news that she is safe and can relax and have fun Pippa goes dressed as a woodland fairy and gives into her inner desires for a night of fun. Diesel looking to have a good time before shipping out again is dressed as a gladiator. Pippa works up the courage to approach the mysterious gladiator and asks him to dance and then more, but no names, no faces, and no numbers. In the moment something more intense happened that neither had ever experienced before but Pippa stuck to her rules of the night and went home. Quickly Pippa regrets not at least giving her gladiator her number, then finds out she is pregnant but no matter what she is going to be a mother and that’s all that matters. Two years pass, she has a handsome little boy named Bryce, a chance encounter with an older man at a park sets her one prayer the day her son was born in motion. That her son’s father is safe and if it is best for them that he may come back to them. Only when Diesel finds her it’s too late, her ex is loose, and he found them first.
Will Pippa survive the wrath of her past? Can Diesel find his new family in time? What will happen to little Bryce? The world the author creates is one of reality, the moments the bad luck and the good luck are all possible. The characters are three dimensional and grow, being relatable. I read this entire book in less than a day and couldn’t put it down until I knew what happened next. I can’t wait to read book 2 Saving the Bellydancer, from Diesel’s fellow SEAL brother Cutter and learn his story.

I am sure I have mentioned before in my other reviews that I am not usually a fan of shorter stories But this truly talented author manages to pack so much story and character development into her books that it could be any length at all and you would be left with nothing but good vibes from the story and this author. The change of perspective that Cutter goes through was so well done that he truly captivates you all the way through and the real world issues addressed make this a read well worth your time!

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tony (Cutter) Cuttino is a Navy Seal. But his love of strippers keeps him looking for more. But not what we would think, he loves their strength and grace. He also loves his grandmother, someone he calls every week. Who keeps asking him about getting married. Who would love it if he were married with children. Not for Tony. Edith Smith, stage name Zarifah, loves belly dancing. But when her ex gets abusive and demands her to quit, she leaves him. Nobody will demand Edith to quit dancing or anything else for that matter. What a grand story. No Spoilers to be found here. A fresh new author has stepped into my library. This story is quick paced and action packed. The author touched on abuse and does so as to not offend others. Giving her characters the go on this subject. She made Edith stronger and Tony Loving, but more importantly she opened the eyes of the reader. I enjoyed reading this story and I am sure you will too.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3) by Debra Parmley – Review by M Policicchio

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good, solid story. In this addition to the series, the author makes the Seal, Cutter, realize that finding someone that of value isn’t just about the other person. It is also about finding value in and valuing yourself.

Cutter knows that he is not ready to settle down, especially with the women he dates. Since the one broke his heart, casual is all Cutter wants. After several of his SEAL teammates find and marry women who understand that loving a SEAL isn’t easy and are willing to work at it, Cutter finds himself wondering if there could be someone out there for him.

Zarifah, her belly dancing name, realizes that her fiance is not who she thinks he is. Her now ex-fiance isn’t willing to let Zarifah go. Zarifah realizes that she never really knew him other than the face he presented and that he never wanted to know her more than the dancer persona, which is only part of who she is. As Zarifah makes positive steps away from that relationship, the ex is an ever-present dark cloud threatening her sunny skies.

The author gives Zarifah a guardian angel in Cutter. Cutter teaches Zarifah to use her pepper spray and be aware of her surroundings. Cutter helps Zarifah realize that the right one will see all that she is and enjoy all aspects of who she is. Zarifah teaches Cutter that the right one does exist. This is a cute story that has strong, positive themes built in. Solid performer in the series. Good read!

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a military romance that has it all, strippers, Navy Seals, caring Grandma’s. It is completely easy to fall in love with Cutter, our main male character. He is everything you could want in a nicely wrapped package.

Cutter starts out only going for strippers, afterall he isn’t ready to settle down, at least not with just anyone. He wants to find his happily ever after with a woman who is perfect for him and can handle military separations. Zarifah just wants to live her life, dancing and making money doing what she loves. Her ex however thinks he can put a ring on her finger and tell her what she will and will not do. So when he shows up at one of her shows with a weapon desperate to have her or allow no one too. The one thing he does not expect is her to have a personal body guard that is also a Navy Seal. Can Cutter and Zarifah finally find their happily ever after or will the past keep them apart for good?

This is definitely a quick read and the characters are well written. I loved the interactions between Cutter and his grandma. As well as Zarifah and her fellow dancers. There are a few trigger warnings to this novel such as domestic violence but the author does a fantastic job with the topic.

Cutter, a SEAL is gone more than he is home but his grandmother is begging him to settle down. Usually always dating strippers and never getting attached is his usual way of meeting his needs. While watching a performance by a local dance troupe, Cutter is drawn by one of the dancers in ways he has never felt before. Drawing on his roots and his grandfather’s memories, Cutter is going to make this woman his. Very sweet romantic story.

Finding Bryce is a book about Military romance. The book was good but I felt like the author rushed the book. I also felt like there was details that they could have added that was missing in the book. The story talks about getting second chances in love. Even though I felt like the look was missing details, it was a page turner. The author does get your attention from the first page. You will want to know what happens next.

I really enjoyed this book, the story was engaging and I liked reading about the characters. I think I might be a little bit in love with Cutter – he was so dreamy! I loved how he was so fiercely protective of Zarifah. They had such a genuine connection and I loved reading their story. There was a good mix of romance, suspense and acti0on – it’s definitely one of those stories that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.
This book is quite short being a novella but I don’t think the story was lacking in anyway – I would have loved a longer read just because I loved the characters so much and would happily have read more about them!
Overall a great read with lovely characters! A definite must read!

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley

3 Stars

Saving the Bellydancer is the third book in the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII series by Debra Parmley. It is an interesting military romantic suspense with SEALs, intrigue, danger, tension, chemistry, sizzle, emotion, action, belly dancing, protective Alpha-type hero, and drama.
This is another novella length story which makes it a very quick, and easy read. And as I have mentioned with some of Ms. Parmley’s other books, though this story is complete, and an interesting read, I would have liked to have read a longer, more detailed, and ‘meatier’ version of the story… because who doesn’t want to spend a longer time between the covers with a hot and hunky SEAL?
That being said, I thought it was an interesting read and am curious to see what comes next.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debra Parmley!

Cutter is a Navy Seal who is happy to have quick flings with strippers or women who understand he does not want anything serious. As he sees his other Seal brother start to get married and have children he wonders if he will ever find someone to have that kind of relationship with.

Zarifah is a bellydancer and not the stripping kind pretending to be. She takes dance seriously even though it is for fun. She teaches gymnastics to kids as she was once a child training for the Olympics.

Weeks before Cutter and Zarifah met they both had made a huge decision in their lives. Cutter was going to look for a high valued woman and Zarifah never wanted to see her ex fiance again after he beat her up.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet by her. One of the things I enjoy about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories with ease. They are romance mixed with some suspense and just hard to put down. This book is no different. It is a fast paced, well written story about a bellydancer, her ex and a Navy Seal. They each bring something different to the story which makes it entertaining to read. I enjoyed the suspense aspect of this story as well. There is great chemistry and growth throughout the story. I enjoyed how the characters made me feel as if I was part of the story. For me, they brought the story to life and just added so much to the story. I really enjoyed this story and I think you will as well. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I love this book! It was such a fast read with a beautiful love story. I loved Cutter and Zarifah. The way that Cutter worked to prove to Zarifah that all men are not the same. He made it his mission to prove to her how a woman should be treated. I loved Zarifah and definitely understood why she was not ready for a relationship with anyone. Cutter made her see that the right one is worth taking a chance on. I have to say that the Green Brotherhood books have been amazing so far and I cannot wait to read more!

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging romantic suspense story which had me hooked from start to finish. Navy SEAL Tony “Cutter” Cuttino seems to have a thing for strippers, much to his Grandma’s annoyance, but Cutter says that it’s all about their grace and athleticism for him. However, until American belly dancer and ex competitive gymnast Zarifah comes along no woman has held his attention. Zarifah, or Edith, is running away from an abusive ex who is in prison for turning violent when she wouldn’t give up her dancing. Neither Cutter or Zarifah can ignore the sizzling chemistry between them, and Zarifah loves how supportive Cutter is of her belly dancing. Even Cutter’s Grandma is keen to meet Zarifah. Things turn deadly when her ex storms one of her performances with a loaded weapon, but luckily not only is there a Navy SEAL in the building, but one who will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he loves. This is a heartwarming romance with plenty of drama and suspense to keep you gripped throughout. The chemistry between the main characters came across in the narrative, and I also loved Cutter’s Grandma’s character. An entertaining read.

Who does not love a good SEAL Team hotty read! I couldn’t wait to start on this book in the series. The only issue I have with these books are that the stories are far too short. Debra take pity on me and fill me up with more.
There is so much to love with the suspense and action, fierce passion and emotions and determination of a protector SEAL man who goes after what he wants. Oo la la.
What happens when a belly dancer and a SEAL meet? You will have to read it to find out. No spoilers here.
I you love sexy, strong, heroic men then grab copies of the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII series as they have it all. I cannot wait for the next book. It’s so hard to choose who my best book boyfriend from these men is. Choices, choices……

Great story. I really like how the author centers this book around abuse, Zarifah banding together with her group of friends who have her back, and her fighting back and not putting up with the abuse. I feel like there was too much in the beginning about Tony and the strippers he sleeps with and not enough about the relationship between Zarifah and Hassan. Of course I loved how the Navy Seal who had given up on love and relationships falls head over heels for the main character and is willing to do anything to keep her safe.

Saving the Bellydancer (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 3)Saving the Bellydancer by Debra Parmley

This is a bittersweet story of second-chance romance. Tony, aka Cutter, finally really he wants to date a high-value woman. He finds that in Zarifah, aka Edith Smith. She is a belly dancer and gymnastics teacher. They both have issues from previous relationships. The attraction is there. The question is, can they work through this and be the couple they want to be? The story is sweet and romantic. It does have a topic of domestic abuse. We get to see both characters grow. Cutter grows up right before your eyes. The plot could have used a dash more excitement. It had a few dry spots but it really is a beautiful story. I wish we could have seen more as to what happened when he took her home to meet Grandma. She is my favorite character.

Much to his grandmother’s annoyance, Navy SEAL Tony “Cutter” Cuttino has a thing for strippers. But, for him, it’s all about their grace and athleticism. Grandma wants to see him happily settled down with a wife and babies. Unfortunately, Tony can’t find anyone who holds his attention.

Until he meets Zarifah.

Edith Smith took the stage name of “Zarifah” after transitioning from a competitive gymnast to an American belly dancer. Her ex thinks he can put an engagement ring on her finger and demand she give up dancing. He has another thing coming. Their breakup turns violent, with her ex being arrested and Edith swearing she never wants to see him again.

But her ex isn’t ready to give up.

When Cutter and Zarifah meet, the chemistry between them is electric. Zarifah adores how supportive he is of her dancing, while Cutter is thrilled he can take the woman of his dreams home to meet his grandmother. The start of their happily-ever-after is threatened when Zarifah’s ex storms one of her performances with a loaded weapon. Little does he know there is a Navy SEAL in the building who will do whatever it takes to protect Zarifah.

Author Debra Parmley believes “Every day we are alive is a beautiful day,” and she likes to give her readers and her story people a story that ends happily.

An Air Force veteran’s wife, Debra is most known for writing military romantic suspense. She also writes contemporary romance, holiday romance, fairytale romance, 1920’s romance, and gritty western historical romance.

Her first romance, A Desperate Journey, a gritty western historical, was published in 2008 in eBook and 2009 in print after being selected as one of ten novels to compete in the American Title II contest put on by Dorchester Publishing and Romantic Times Book Lovers magazine. One year later, her agent sold the book to a small traditional press that offered a small advance and she went on to write for five small presses.

Debra is an adventurous writer who lives in a motorhome full-time with her husband as they travel the U.S. She has sold travel, walked the plank of a pirate ship off the coast of Grand Cayman, swum with dolphins in Moorea in French Polynesia, escorted a bus full of people through Scotland, and set foot in 13 countries.

She married her high sweetheart, whom she asked out after a five-dollar bet. After living in five states with her husband and two sons, and living for 23 years just outside Memphis, TN, she and her husband sold everything in Memphis and moved into a 43 foot motorhome, a 2010 Tiffin Allegro diesel bus, where they live full time. Debra writes and travels the U.S. You can see many of her travels on her Beautiful Day Traveler blog.

Her romances are published as Debra Parmley and her other work, fairy tales for all ages, fantasy, and children’s books, she writes as Debra Bishop.
