This is the second book of this series and Manda Mellett, did not disappoint. I love this action packed MC series and all the characters involved. This story centers around Grumbler and Mary although the additional storyline may have some triggers for some people. I can’t wait to read more about this MC family and see what Manda has in store for us.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every single book, within all of these MC chapters of this series, are so well written and each brings their own threats, drama, tears, laughs and just all around emotion. I don’t know how she does it but each and every story is unique, engaging and all around entertaining.
We are in San Diego and we get to know Grumbler in this book. This is all about the right place at the right time to put him in the path of what was yet to come. As with all the bikers, hes a certified bachelor and his ol’ lady is his motorcycle.
Mary is a no nonsense mom to an almost adult teenage daughter who is just trying to do her best, with a teen who doesn’t want to listen to the word no.

This one really got to me with the subject matter in the fact that it does happen in the real world and you just feel helpless to know how to stop it. Was written well to get the points across without needing every small detail to know the maddening truth of the events going on.
I can’t wait to read more from the San Diego Chapter of brothers as we are just getting started and I’m eager to get to know this clubhouse of soon to be added to my favorite bikers series.

Grumbler’s Ride: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2 by Manda Mellett

If I could give this more than 5 stars then I would. Mellett has really done it again. You see Lost, Patsy, and Connor in this as well as new characters.

Grumbler is one of the oldest bikers in the club. Never wanting to find an ol’ lady or being tied down was his style. Was being keyword. Enter Mary and Alicia. The quote I chose for Grumbler is: “I’ll come find you when I’ve squared it with Lost. He’ll be fine with it. I just need to warn him what we’re doing.”

Mary is a widowed mother who is trying to get her daughter to learn from mistakes. When she meets a biker she isn’t sure what to think. When her daughter runs to him things change. The quote I chose for Mary is: “Yes, to being your old lady. Yes, to playing with fire and seeing how things pan out.”

Highly recommended for MC Romance lovers.

Grumbler’s Ride: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2 by Manda Mellett – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a book for those over 18 only due to it’s graphic nature.

This is another fantastic installment of the Satan’s Devils MC series, this one is again based in San Diego and this one is Grumbler’s story, Grumbler is a man full of tattoos and his bike is his pride and joy, he has customised it completely and is always looking to improve it, but it is known in the club as his old lady!

We begin the story with Grumbler going for another tattoo in the club’s shop, he had a patch of skin to fill and now it is done, he has a skull smoking a cigarette as a tribute to his friend Smoker who has recently passed away and is really happy with the result. He reminisces about Smoker, as he leaves the shop and as he is walking towards his motorcycle, he thinks about how he spends his money on her and the crash he recently had which damaged it and broke his leg in the process and how it is still paining him now. He hears someone shouting as he is preparing to drive off and doesn’t realise it is at him, until he takes his helmet off and sees someone running towards him. It turns out that his bike has caught the eye of a photographer and he wants to take some pictures of it, he introduces himself as Devon Starr and uses flattery to try and get Grumbler to agree to let him do the photos, at first, Grumbler is wary and thinks that it may be too good to be true, but pride takes over when he thinks that it could be used on a motorcycle magazine or book and as he hashes out a deal with Devon, he is told that it would be for the cover of an MC romance novel and that his bike is the focus, not him, but he is thinking about how doing nothing and getting paid for it sounds like a good idea, so he gives Devon his number and that is the end of that.

When we next see Grumbler, it is in church where they are discussing the club businesses and how they are doing financially, as well as other business around the other club chapters around the country, this flows as usual and decisions are made, it leads to Grumbler reminiscing about the club’s past and the troubles they had, as well as troubles with another chapter, as well the members within the chapter they had trouble with. It also leads him to reminisce more about how a fellow member Niran had to help him with his role as Sergeant At Arms, as well as becoming close when he helped him to recover from his injuries, with his experience with living with an injured leg as Niran had lost one of his. He talks to Niran after church has finished and discusses the stock check and that he is trying to get the other members to log when they take anything out, but that they aren’t inclined to do it, to which they have a laugh about it. Grumbler goes to have a drink at the club bar as the club gets louder and the girls start to settle into the evenings activities, he looks around and thinks about how they are all sexy, but too young for him. He is propositioned by one of the girls, but decided to pass as he is feeling his age and isn’t as interested as he used to be in his younger days, he also thinks some more about his younger days, Smoker and how his Prez had found his old lady, he decides to go for a ride to get out of his own head before an early night.

The next day, he gets up early and goes down for some breakfast and conversation, he talks about the club’s Prez and his old lady looking for a house and how he will miss it when they go, mainly because her cooking has improved the standard of the food in the clubhouse. He discusses his plan for the day and decides to go to the harley store to see if there is anything new for his bike, when he gets a message from the photographer asking if he is free at three that afternoon to do the photoshoot, he agrees and then heads off with Niran to the store where they drink coffee, have a chat with the other customers and but what they want. As Niran leaves in one direction, Grumbler heads back to the club for a bite to eat before heading out to the photoshoot, he is the first to get there, followed by a young lady and her mum, the photographer and finally the male model. As the shoot is happening, Grumbler ends up talking to Mary who is the girl’s mum, they both shout when the models do something they don’t like and they bond a bit over it, soon enough the shoot ends and as all the parties say goodbye, they think nothing more about it until Grumbler finds out a couple of months later that the photographs have been used, but he hasn’t received his payment and this is where the story really gets going.

As Grumbler and Mary get back into contact with each other, they realise something is a bit fishy, but what they are getting themselves into, nobody was expecting or prepared for and what they find leads their paths to intertwine in a surprising way. What will the future hold for the two and will it all end in misery? The only way to find out is to read along and see!

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Series by Manda Mellett. Manda and the Satan’s Devils series are on my automatic read list. I just can’t wait to get my hand on each and every book. This series with all of it’s spinoffs just keeps getting better and better. Manda makes the MC realistic and the hard men who love even harder are fascinating. Grumbler and Mary’s story is my favorite by far. I really like when authors feature a little older couples. It makes it more relatable for me. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. It had some twists and turns that had me reading long past my bedtime. The loss of sleep was well worth it. If you like MC books,I highly recommend this book, series and author.

Like Book 1 this is about an older couple, Grumbler and Mary, it is so refreshing for a change and there is so much chemistry and heat, who wouldn’t want to be straddled on the back of Grumblers bike.

This is the second book in the Satan Devils MC San Diego series.
What makes this book different is the romance is between a older couple which is nice as it shows no matter what age you are you can still find love. This book is a great read but does contain some triggers. However it doesn’t take anything away from the story which was really gripping and enjoyable.

Grumbler  is a member of the Satan Devils San Diego chapter. He has never had a need for a woman in his life. His only true love is his bike. When he gets approached one day by a photographer who wants to use his bike he decides to give it a shot. After all its a way to make some cash.

At the shoot he meets Mary. Single mum to the female model. Mary’s daughter is head strong and hard work.

After not receiving payment for the pictures taken of his bike Grumbler  sets off to find the photographer and get his money. What he uncovers is a lot darker and dangerous. This journey also brings him to cross paths with Mary. Can he help protect Mary’s daughter? Can he actually have another love in his life apart from his ride?

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett was a great 5 star read.

Grumbler is approached about his bike being used for a photo shoot with some models. He agrees and at the photo shoot he meets Mary and her daughter Alicia, who is one of the models. We jump ahead a few weeks when Grumbler finds out that a photo was sold and he didn’t get his money. When he gets in touch with Mary and Alicia he finds that they haven’t been paid yet either. So he is determined to find the photographer and get what’s due to them. There is a scary twist and Alicia finds herself in a not so great situation and she goes to Grumber for help. From here things get more interesting.

As Grumbler spends more time with Mary there is a chemistry between them. Will Grumbler and his MC be able to find the photographer? Will he and Mary have a HEA?
All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I really liked how great Grumbler was with Alicia and how comfortable she was going to him for help.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read all of the other Satan’s Devils that Manda Mellett has written. I knew I would not be disappointed when I picked this book up to read. This is Grumblers and Mary’s story. Grumbler is a senior member of the Satan’s Devils San Diego MC. He has given all his life for that lifestyle. His bike is his old lady. He does not regret his life’s choices one bit. Then there is Mary. She is a mother of a seventeen year old daughter. That is enough said about that lifestyle. Grumbler and Mary meet and that is when everything starts to get interesting. There are some dark places that may trigger some emotions. I found that this story is a bit slower moving but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend this series to everyone. There is a little bit of something for everyone.

Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego. This series does not need to be read in order however I would highly recommend redding them all as they are just that good!
As usual this book is an absolutely fantastic addition to what is already an amazing series. I was instantly hooked on this book as soon as I started reading. I liked that the author chose to do a story about an older couple. It isn’t something you see all that often and she did it so well that I still found myself connecting with the characters.
This book is just as exciting and thrilling as the others and I loved every minute of reading it. I cannot recommend this series highly enough – do yourself a favour and start reading it today!!!

Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellet is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series and was another great read! Manda Mellet knocked it out again with another incredible book. I’m not a huge fan of the MC stories, but with Mellet’s great writing and amazing characters, she makes them very interesting and entertaining to read. This book had me laughing, wanting to cry, and also made me breathless. I couldn’t believe where the story was heading until it got there. I also loved the Doctor Who joke that sprinkled in the novel as well. This was a great read, and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Book 2 in the Satan’s Devil Series is just as amazing as the first. Grumbler is a tough dude that is all mush at heart. He is the definition of a tough teddy bear. Mary and her daughter are exactly what Grumbler needs in his life. Softness and light with a little bit of laughter. But as expected there are some growing pains when a single mom and teenage daughter start to hang around an MC Club, and quite hilariously so I might add.
This book is equal parts sweet and loving. Grumbler was written just for Mary and Alicia needed a person like Grumber to come in a be that glue that keeps her from feeling that the world is falling apart around her. Lovers of the MC world will love this series. This builds on the book before and sets up for books to come and LOVE that about a series. I love that you can get the history of characters before you are able to visit them in their stories.

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2)by Manda Mellett

5 out of 5 stars

I have read quite a few books written by Ms. Mellett and her writing just gets better with each book. I love how thorough she is with her descriptions if it’s of the club house and compound or just the people in general. I loved how she describe Grumbler’s motorcycle. These guys are not just a bunch of misfits that come together it is a brotherhood.

Grumbler is the Sergeant -at- arms he has given his club more years of his life than he cares to remember. His life is settled and just the way he likes it. He thinks he is too old to change now.

Grumbler is asked to use his motorcycle in a photo shoot while there he meets Mary and her 17yr old daughter Alicia. Grumbler finds out that they were conned out of money for such said photo shoot for a book cover that he contacts Alicia and her mother Mary and told them he would take care of I and get their money. So, after Alicia calls Grumbler for help after a bad experience with a male model they all become close.

Mary is a single mother to a 17yrold daughter names Alicia who keeps her on her toes. Alicia thinks she knows everything she’s not quite adult, but doesn’t see herself as a child, constantly pushing at boundaries. She spends most of her time trying to stay one step ahead of her and it’s not easy.

So now he is chasing the photographer for none-payment sends things in a spiral turn that throws Grumbler and Mary together. As the MC investigates the photographer things come to light that they need to call the Utah chapter. Grumbler is not happy about this because he still does not trust them after their antics came to light.

I highly recommend this book/series….

I have loved every one of the Satan’s Devils books I have read, but think San Diego is my favorite of the branches at least so far.  I can relate age wise with first Patsy and now Mary.  Don’t get me wrong,  I love the stories about the younger members it’s nice to have someone in my age range that I can relate to more.

As the mother of two daughters this story stressed me out. I have no idea what I would have done in Mary’s shoes.  I do think it wouldn’t have been the same since I don’t have a hot biker in my life.

I cannot get enough of this series and can’t wait for the next book to be released.

This is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego chapter from Manda Mellett, and it quickly turned into one of my favorites of all time of hers. Grumbler’s Ride will knock your emotions out of the ballpark and tear you to pieces before it slowly and tenderly puts you back together. Manda Mellett has this special talent of making her books carry a message and bring to light difficult topics that need to be in the spotlight more. I won’t give away much on the twist to this because I don’t want to ruin it for you. I will say Mellett did a wonderful job yet again, writing about a horrible situation and making it very very relatable. I can’t say enough good things about this book so I will keep it short and sweet. This is a must read if you love MC novels and books with heart and soul woven in every word that graces the pages. I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring us! I think I will go back and re-read this sucker while I wait again, it was that good, I need more! Thank you for the fabulous read here Ms. Mellett!

I think I have read every Satan’s Devil’s MC books and the stories continue to amaze me.
This is the 2nd book in the San Diego series and Grumbler has quickly become one of my favorite members. He has dedicated his life to the club and has been happy being the single guy with no children. So when someone asks to photograph his baby (his motorcycle), he finds himself in a situation that will change the course of his future.
Mary is a single mother of a teenager who does what teenagers do best…test the limits. When she accompanies her daughter to a photoshoot, she finds herself turning to a grumpy biker for help. How long can they fight their attraction before they give in or walk away? (You have to read to find out)
I found myself drawn to these characters. Maybe being a mother of a teenage girl is part of it. I can see how Grumbler got his name and for some reason that only made me like him more. Again, another great book in the series. Can’t wait to read whatever comes next!

Satan’s Devils MC San Diego
Book 2
By Manda Mellett
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
This is a full length novel in a series, I recommend you read book 1 first. Actually reading anything from Manda Mellett will make you familiar with her MC men in Satan’s Devils. You may find yourself in a dark place in this story. I recommend you hang on tight!

Grumbler, single, never gonna have an Ol Lady. It was just him and his ride. Never, Never, Never going to put anybody on the back of his ride. But when he is asked to allow pictures taken of his ride, with some other guy on his bike. Well he would not allow that. But he would consider letting someone stand next to her. Then trouble comes knocking, and that’s all you will get from me. No Spoilers! You have to read it to believe it.

Manda Mellett has done it again. This story is well written and promises to keep you reading. I was on page one and remained there until the last page was read. This is one of those books you are afraid to put down. At least I was. I love her characters! Grumbler and Mary are great together, when he comes to her rescue, and helps her teen get out of a mess. (Okay on a side note two of the women in the club have my first and middle name!) I am looking forward to reading more from Manda Mellett. Job well done Manda Mellett! You never disappoint!

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series by Manda Mellett. Grumbler got his name honestly, he is one grumpy man but under all that, there is a man who loves with his whole heart. Mary and her daughter are just what Grumbler needs. Life is full of chance. I do t believe in coincidences. This book shows how fate has a hand in everything. Grumbler spent most of his life in the MC. He has never wanted a woman or kids. When a photographer wants to shoot his bike, Grumbler can’t wait to show off his pride and joy. A simple decision changes his path in life. Falling into a situation with dire consequences, Grumbler and the Satan’s Devils don’t hesitate to bring about justice. Life sometimes gives you things that you never knew that you wanted.

This is another winning book in the MC series. If you haven’t read this author’s books, I highly recommend them. Though they are all written as part of a series, they can be read as stand-alones. You’ll love it so much that you’ll definitely be reading the rest.

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC of San Diego by Manda Mellett and by far my favorite yet. I’m a huge fan of not only this author but MC is one of my top genre’s. I mean what’s not to love about a biker. Ido recommend reading the first book in this series if you haven’t already it’ll give you a better idea of the characters and some back stories. I had a hard time putting this down. There was a couple spots I got a bit teary eyed. Get ready to be taken on quite the ride some parts will be like being on a emotional rollercoaster. Grumbler is an older biker who has always believed that he didn’t need a woman. When he’s approached by a photographer who wants to shoot some photos of his bike (he loves his bike). H e then meets Mary who is a widowed single mother of a teenage daughter. What happens when her daughter gets herself in a situation? Find out what happens next. I could go on and on but I don’t want to give anything away. This author and this entire series (All different chapters) are definitely worth reading. I simply can’t recommend this enough. Grab yourself a copy today and get lost in the world of bikers. I can’t wait to see what or I should say who this author brings us next.

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett. I LOVE this series and this book was no different! Manda Mellett has become one of my absolute favorite authors! This is the story of cranky, rough biker Grumbler He’s been with the Satan’s Devils longer than he can remember. He has never had a girlfriend, wife or significant other and his friends tease him about the club being his woman! Mary is a single mom to a 17 year daughter, Alicia who like most 17 year old’s give her mom a ton of grief. When Alicia accepts a modeling gig Mary decides she better go with her because she doesn’t want her taken advantage of. Grumbler just happens to be asked to let someone take pictures of his bike and he’s so proud of her he delightfully accepts. When he shows up he meets Alicia and Mary and he’s not so delighted! But sparks do fly between he and Mary. He’s never been this interested in a woman before. During the photo shoot Grumbler keeps Alicia from getting in over her head and Mary if forever grateful. Will she let down her barriers and give Grumbler a shot? Read Grumbler’s Ride to find out!

Manda is back at it again with another amazing addition to the Satan’s Devils MC! This book is a little slower placed than most of Manda’s other books but it is just as fantastic! Grumbler’s Ride, just like many of Manda’s other books, is an emotional roller coaster that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. This book does address some triggering topics, although they do add to the story and explains certain characters actions. I definitely recommend diving into the world that Manda has created, they’re an amazing author and definitely know just how to keep you reading, even if it’s 2 am!

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Grumbler’s Ride is another twisted story in Mellett’s MC series. What starts out as a simple photo shoot with Grumbler’s motorcycle turns beyond creepy, beyond troubling, and if possible, beyond evil. Grumbler’s ride gets him into a world of trouble. At first it just seems like a shady photographer. But what he discovers is so much more. However, as much evil as he unearths, he also meets Mary and her teenage daughter Alicia.

I love the fact that this story features an older couple, as did Being Lost, book 1 in this series. 50 and 60 is the new 30 and 40 right!?! This story was easy to read in that the words and plot flowed well. I like how the story ends except: what happens with Mary??!!! I need answers so I really hope Mellett is writing!! I also like how there are enough characters for this series to keep going. Mellett gives just enough details of the other characters so you won’t know whose story could be next. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

Grumbler’s Ride: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2 by Manda Mellett. This author gets me every single time. I think I’ll be a fan of hers forever honestly because ever time I get to read a new book I think it’s my new favorite. Each book gets better and sometimes that can be hard as an author but without fail this author blows me away every time. The characters in this story truly captured a piece of my heart and loved getting lost with them for a while. It’s so easy to read these books in one sitting simply because I have the hardest time putting it down. The storyline is well written and paced nicely. The characters are complex, relatable and well developed. They simply pull you in and you won’t want to leave. I know I sure didn’t want to. Five stars all the way and highly recommended! I simply recommend every single book this author has! Can’t wait for more!

Five Stars

I cannot express enough how much I enjoy Manda Mellett stories. Every MC book I have read from her has left me excited for more. This story is no different. There’s just something refreshing about an older man. Like they’ve already been done the road and don’t have time for games. Grumbler is the type of guy I could see myself with if I was in that age group. Shoot if he came to me while I was 31 I would probably give it a go lol. I really liked how he stood up for Alicia. He care when he had no reason to. Put himself and the club out there to protect her. I really liked Mary. Even though she had her judgment about the club girls it didn’t stop her from listening to them and showing them respect. Overall the whole story was really good. The author wrote another good book where we see a man set in his ways but changes for the right woman. I couldn’t believe how fast I read the story that I went in for seconds. I love how Grumbler’s bike is described. I could really see myself riding the back of it. I say take a leap and enjoy a story about a sexy older man.

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the San Diego Chapter of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC series. It focuses on Grumbler, an older member of the MC, who gets roped into doing a photoshoot (or, rather, letting his bike be used in a photoshoot) and ends up tangled up in problems much bigger than the gentle teasing he anticipated.
This is a fantastic series. Each book, including this one, can be read as a standalone. In this book, we have Mary and Alicia who are new to the Satan’s Devils’ way of life and so we get to discover things anew through their eyes – perfect for readers who are new to the series as well as established fans.
I’ve lost count of how many of the Satan’s Devils MC books I’ve read (no wait, I can check – it’s 8 not including this one!). By now, many of the characters and settings, across the different chapters, feel very familiar. It’s like catching up with some old friends who have very exciting lives! I love that the series is expanding across America, giving me a chance to explore new places from the comfort of my sofa.
Like many of the books, this one addresses some difficult and sensitive issues. This is done openly and respectfully. The familiar, protective characters from the MC make it a good setting to address such issues without making the story too dark.
For me, this is a five-star read. This is a great series! I feel like I should recommend it to fans of romance and motorcycles but I don’t have a particular interest in either myself and have still found myself hooked so maybe just give it a go!
