My Pearl Heart by J.N Sheats 4 out of 5 Stars My Pearl Heart is a fabulous stand alone novel with a STRONG female lead by the name of Jasmine. Jasmine is determined to keep herself busy and prove that she is everything, can do everything, be everything, That is until the next thing to royalty, James, goes and ruins everything. That’s ok though, Jasmine is forging on ahead. After shoving James aside, and rightfully into his place she keeps on trucking, or does she? I adored this book. It was short and very sweet. Less than 150 pages. The perfect romance book to read around the holidays and to cozy up to around the fire. The characters were well built, chapters were the perfect length and the story was robust. Lovers of Holiday and Contemporary Romance will fall in love with this book.

This book is a cute collection of three separate, but intwined love stories, somewhat brought together by a fourth. In part one you have the story of Sadie and Charlie who meet unexpectedly in a book store, and reconnect when they discover that their purchases were switched. The book that Sadie had intended to purchase happens to be based on the love story that Charlie grew up hearing, about how his grandparents met. The second part, is about the author of the book that Sadie purchased reconnected with her ex-husband when they both unknowingly end up moving to the same small town, and going into the same bookstore. The third part is about the bookstore owner herself finding love unexpectedly. The sections could be read independently, but also work perfectly as a three part story of love and friendship.

I first discovered this author 5 years ago when I read the first Walker series book. So when I saw this one I had to buy it and read it. The author did NOT disappoint, this story is absolutely captivating, Chloe is a strong and independent female who knows her worth. Jason is a good guy with a good heart and a strong sense of trying to do the right thing. I love Byron who I just wanted to call grandpa and hug on him. I wanted to wrap my hands around William and found myself quite often cussing him out. The other secondary characters added even more to the story and I’m hoping there will be secondary books that have Tyler, Gwendolyn and the rest of the crew. The authors writing style flows so incredibly smooth, she connects the characters, and the readers to the characters. There were hysterical moments that made me laugh out loud (just remember stapler), parts that made me scream, and even parts that brought tears to my eyes. This was the perfect book to bring in the New Year with and I enjoyed it tremendously. if you enjoy a good clean romance book that is driven by real romance, laughter, a happily ever after, and just a little office politics you should get your copy today! I promise this author will bring immense joy to you.

This is the second book I have read by this author and it was another entertaining tale. Gaia creates characters that are easy to identify with and that makes the reader want to follow their journey. Happily Ever After finds lead character Leda at University following her dream of becoming a scientist. She finds herself attracted to Sergio, a self-confessed pothead and a free spirit who is her complete opposite. The story follows the ups and downs of what she initially calls her “relationshit”. Loved this description, I’m sure we have all been in at least one of them in our time. I found myself both liking and loathing Sergio at different times of the book. I think that’s the sign of a good writer, you go on a journey with the characters and never know exactly where you stand with them. I’d recommend this book to those who like family sagas and coming of age stories. A good read.

“Happily. Ever After?” is the sixth book in the Italian Saga by GB Amman. Leda is an intelligent young woman with high academic aspirations. She tries so hard to juggle her interests in life, volleyball, friends, her band, schoolwork and Sergio. As with any driven student, school is her priority and Sergio just doesn’t understand. They love each other, but is it enough? Leda seems to question her relationship with Sergio every step of the way, and my heart ached for the poor girl. She goes through so much in this book, with so many changes and issues that pop up, it’s a wonder how she keeps it all together! I don’t want to give away details, but this book was beautiful in its description of the places Leda goes, but hard to read with what she goes through. However, Leda is resilient and tougher than she seems to some and she proves it in this book! Relationships are messy and “Happily. Ever After?” shows that. Fingers crossed for Leda as I wait for the seventh book! I give “Happily. Ever After?” four stars! Reviewed by @emilybee430

Ever After?: An Italian Relationship (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B Amman- Review by Emily Brockschmidt
Happily Ever After?: An Italian Relationship is book six in the Italian Saga series by Gaia B. Amman. I read the first book in this series, but have skipped to the sixth one. Oh well, it states that it is a self standing book, so here goes. Slowly paced, this story was a great read, and ticked all the boxes for a quality, easy to read story.
Leda and Sergio like each other. Leda and sergio kissed. Leda and Sergio gives readers an entertaining, honest and full of ups and downs. A very realistic look at young love and all the problems young couples face and how they deal with the drama. These characters were easy to like, easy to relate to, easy to enjoy. Laughter, attraction, love is all set out, pretty and sweet, in the beautiful Italy, where romance is plentiful, and drama is endless. 4 stars.

Ever After?: An Italian Relationship (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B. Amman – Review by Tracy Wilkin
Happily. Ever After? is the sixth book in Gaia B Amman’s Italian Saga. Leda, the independent and adventurous heroine we’ve watched growing up over the past five books, is now in her early twenties. She’s had her heart broken and broken hearts. She’s struggled with mental illness. And coming through it all, she’s now focused on her course and her hobbies. But she can’t ignore her feelings for Sergio, and his demands on her attention. Leda is great! The books are written from her perspective and Amman does a great job of getting inside her head. She is both mature and naïve, the paradox of young adulthood, and this comes across in her interpretation of situations. She’s clever, and I found myself learning a thing or two about biomedical sciences (Amman’s background really comes through here – I enjoyed the level of detail!). I like the varied LGBT+ representation, particularly with bisexual and polyamorous characters. There’s generally a great cast of characters, building up throughout the books, and it’s good to have some diversity there! The pace sometimes felt a bit odd – chunks of time would fly past and yet we get incredible amounts of detail about things which aren’t necessarily central to the plot – but it sort of feels like we’re focusing on the things that are important to Leda. We have to appreciate what her priorities and occupations are! This is a five star book. A great insight into Italian life (as a teacher, I particularly enjoyed learning about the education system…) and wonderful to see Leda maturing. If you like coming of age stories spread out over a number of years, such as the Adrian Mole books, you’ll enjoy this series!

Ever After? (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B Amman – Review by Francis O’Sullivan
This is the second book I have read by this author, I enjoyed it just as much as the first. This book will show you that opposites attract could be a true statement. Leda is a woman who has plans for the future and Sergio will do what he has to make sure she is his, all his. Their story is an emotional roller coaster with lots of ups and downs but it kept me engaged until the end. Their relationship is love but also conflict. Great chemistry! I highly recommend reading their story.

The “chapters” are only about 2 pages long so the story felt like it moved quickly The female protagonist had a name for her scooter She also has a strong voice when she learns to use it The story was well plotted I appreciated the information which the author provided at the end of the book
Like other stories in this series, the writing is incredibly detailed and at times it dragged for me. I did find myself skimming even though the “chapters” were very short. I have not been reading the series in order, and it feels as if this particular story drops in the middle of another. It made me feel a little lost at the beginning so I would recommend reading it in order.

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) By: Gaia B. Amman 5 out of 5 stars
The story Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B. Amman is a book that I truly enjoyed reading. It is a story that brings out powerful emotions from the characters and had me not wanting to put the book down until I had finished the last page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I was reading it. I loved reading about the character of Leda. She is a young woman who is beautiful and smart. She has plans for her future. She also has an undeniable attraction to Sergio. Sergio is a man that is determined that Leda will be his and only his. Like a magnet, these two are drawn towards each other. Read this book to find out their story. This book has parts to it that I found sad and some that had me angry with how characters were treated. There are times when I could feel affection and love, while other times there was conflict. I grew to care about Leda and was always rooting for her to succeed in all that she does. There are other additional characters that you read about. I enjoyed reading about many of them and their interactions with Leda. This is a wonderful story to read and one that I would highly recommend.

An Italian Relationship (The Italian Saga, #6) By Gaia B. Amman – Review by Laura Furuta
Leda’s life is great without a man—until Sergio kisses her.
Sergio has been in and out of Leda’s life for years—flirting, offering poetry and enigmatic smiles to then disappear, or get high, time after time.
Busy with genetic engineering and her rock band, Leda fights the sizzling chemistry with the brooding pothead. No need for another “relationshiT.”
Yet, after the most memorable, swoon-inducing, soul-melting kiss, she can’t stop thinking about him. Good thing they were interrupted. Right?
Is she in love? Does he even care? Is he worth the trouble?
This novel will instantly transport you to Milano, on a scooter, high on love, singing at the top of your lungs to prepare for the next gig. Golden sunsets in Florence, cut-throat cancer research, and even Greece and Guatemala weave into the ups and downs familiar to every couple.
How much compromise is acceptable to make a relationship work?
Amman’s nuanced, sweetly flawed characters become old friends because they feel so real and relatable. You will laugh, cry, and learn a lot about Italy…and maybe even a little about yourself.
Born and raised in Italy, Gaia B. Amman is the author of Linked, a sizzling sci-fi political thriller about empathy and diversity, and The Italian Saga (volume seven to be released in 2019). She was the 1996 and 1997 winner of a Short Story Award in Arese (MI), Italy.
Fluent in four languages, Amman has a Master in Medical Biotechnology (genetic engineering) and a PhD in Molecular Oncology (molecular cancer research). She is a Professor of Biology at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York, and the recipient of several science awards (UniMI fellow 2002-05, DOD fellow 2005-07, AICF fellow 2007-08, AICR fellow 2007-09, DOD fellow 2010-12, 2017, 2016 DYC Researcher of the Year, 2016 AAUP Scholar of the Year).
An avid traveler for work and pleasure, Amman has backpacked across the world. When nobody is watching, she binge-reads novels and manga, watches anime, or rocks it out with her Buffalo-based cover band.
Amman’s novels delve into the depths of human nature, combining the realistic approach of a scientist with the humor and empathy of a survivor.
She is a vegetarian and a fervent supporter of diversity and human rights.
Among her favorite authors are J.K. Rowling, Jandy Nelson, Neil Gaiman, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Antoine De Saint Exupèry.
