Building Storm (Hawke Family Series #4) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Ashleigh Whitwell

Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4)Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Building Storm is the fourth instalment of the Hawke Family series. Every book in this series has brought the drama and this one is no exception. I am a huge fan of this series and the characters it has created, so to say I was excited for this read is an understatement. This book has it all: drama, sexiness, love and a huge amount of emotion. I loved this story and think it is the perfect ending to the series.

At the end of the previous book, Stone Sober, I wasn’t sure how Storm was going to cope. I was excited to read her story but also nervous, as I knew it was going to be an emotional journey. Not only was she dealing with a tragic loss, she was also coming to terms with the new, difficult, relationship she has wit her brother Stone. This was one of the things I was most excited to read about, as I really couldn’t see how she would be able to forgive him and move on. Her relationships with all of her family and central to this book and I loved seeing the whole family together, especially with the inclusion of new boy, Landon! He is exactly what Storm is trying to avoid and yet the instant connection they have is crazy. He is so intense and it completely throws her, which was so much fun to read!

Aside from all the drama with the Hawke family, which there is an abundance of, Landon brings his own problems to the table. We learn pretty early on that he has some serious issues with his dad, but we don’t learn the truth of it for quite a while. I loved how well this was drawn out, as the little hints along the way had me guessing what had happened. There is a pretty dramatic ending so I won’t ruin it for you but it is the perfect conclusion to this series. I am gutted that it’s all over!

This series took me completely by surprise. From the first huge plot twist in Savage Collision, I found myself hooked on these characters and their lives. Storm’s story really hit me in the heart and I have grown to completely love her; is she allowed to be my favourite female character? This is a must read for fans of this series. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

BUILDING STORM is the fourth book in the “Hawke Family Series” and I reread the series before beginning this story. Oh my gosh, they are all amazing!! I think in order to do Storm justice, you should read them in order.

From beginning to end, this epic family drama continues to add layer upon layer of amazing goodness. I have felt every feeling from joy to sadness to frustration and complete satisfaction of a story/series well written.

Twists and turns and intrigue fill the pages of this beautiful story. From beginning to end this book (and series) held my attention. I have definitely put it on my TBRA (to be read again) list.

I absolutely recommend this story, this series and this fantastic author.

This book almost killed me! Oh my gosh this author she knows how to get me every time I read one of her books, from the completely unexpected to making me fall so hard in love with her characters that anytime anything happens I feel like I am right there with them. I will admit I cried, a lot during this book. My heart hurt for Storm, the author wrote her character in such a way that I genuinely could feel what she was feeling. The emotional feels in this book were real! I have been so lucky to read all of the books in this series, Savage Collision is still one of my most favourite reads ever but this book was something else. I could tell that the author had truly poured her heart and soul into this read, the pain and suffering of the characters is real. I’m not going to go into details as I do not want to spoil this read for anybody but it truly is an outstanding story that I cannot recommend enough – it may only be January but I know for sure that I have found one of my top reads of 2019!

Stone Sober (Hawke Family Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Krystal Gaston

Stone Sober (Hawke Family #3)Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stone Sober is Gwyn McNamee’s third book in her series The Hawke Family. The first book in the series is Savage Collision, followed by Tortured Skye. You meet the other Hawke siblings in those stories and then you get to Stone. He like control and hes intense like the rest of the Hawke men, but hes being pulled in 2 directions. His family or his boss, who has also been like a father figure to him. Then there is Dani’s baby sister, Nora, who makes her entrance in Savage Collision. This story like the others pulls you right in from the beginning. You meet sides of characters that you have been anxious to get to know. And the chemistry between Stone and Nora is out of control. Nora is a difficult character, no one really knows why she dances and why she left the pre med program at school. But Stone, he infuriates her and can read her better then anyone, and it drives her nuts! I loved this series so far and I can’t wait for book 4 Building Storm to come out.

Stone Sober (Hawke Family #3)Stone Sober by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book one is Savage Collision. Book two is Tortured Skye. Book 3 is Stone Sober. This is my favorite story line so far but I am still #TeamSavage! I really loved this story and I still love the Hawke family! This book was easy to read with lines and thoughts as simple as: “Maybe in another world, another life, another time, things could be different.” Sounds like the same old story but McNamee is able to kick it up more than just a notch, she kicks it in high gear. This story is hot! Exciting! And oh my those “large black lacquered wardrobes” and all the things they held inside! No wonder Nora was feeling a little confused.

“How is it possible to dread and crave something so much at the same time?”

There were a couple of things that made me go hmmm. The biggest thing was that it seemed that Stone’s addiction was just a mild case and easily enough to kick. Even though, I felt, that his sister tried to make a huge deal out of it. Maybe his addiction wasn’t a key element to the story but then the title is Stone Sober. (Just my random thoughts.) The other thing was the Hawke family mom—Mrs. Hawke also known as loyal to a fault, “…that naïve or blind…” leader of the whole Hawke family. Is Gwyn McNamee just building us up for something more for dear ol’ mom? Or is she really not that great of a person? I have high hopes for mom!

I can not wait to read more from McNamee and I really hope there’s more of this family!

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Jenni Bishop

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1)Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Danika Eriksson is a woman on a mission, a mission to save her baby sister from the man who has seemingly drawn her into the seedy side of life, a strip club. She is like a dog with a bone and is hell bent on giving the man what for. She is intelligent, feisty and outspoken and not one to back down. When she comes face to face with one Savage Hawke she gives him a piece of her mind an unapologetic piece at that. What she didn’t expect however was her attraction to him. I love the way our heroine doesn’t stay away from a good confrontation and speaks her own mind especially when it comes to those she loves most.

Savage is certainly surprised when confronted by this woman who waltzed her way into his club to give him a piece of her mind. Hell he may even like it. God knows his past has been one hell of a struggle with a monumental secret. But he has built a good life and has come so far in a few short years.

Together they could be good but will the threats be too much and could a good thing be over before it even starts? Will Savage be able to save his girl or will she be lost forever? Can Savage overcome his past to really see his future? Has Dani bitten off more than she can chew?

I love the way things develop between our two main characters, especially when she realises Savage is really a good guy an exceptionally sexy one at that. I also enjoyed the little twists the author weaved within the story. It is filled with love, romance, suspense and regret. There were moment when I was biting my nails as things develop but there were also times of emotion that threatened to spill over.It is certainly a rough road for these two and I was rooting for them all the way. I also loved that our heroine was so freely able to speak her mind and what she actually said often had me laughing out loud. I can’t wait to see what the Gwynn has in store for us in the future books of this series.

Tortured Skye (Hawke Family #2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Shannon Fowler

Tortured Skye (Hawke Family, #2)Tortured Skye by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

McNamee has done it again. I LOVE THE HAWKE FAMILY! The first book is Savage Collision. A few references to that book are made so it would be helpful to read it first, however this story is about Savage’s little sister Skye, and Savage’s best friend Gabe. And even though Skye is all grown up, Savage is still overprotective. Gabe is Savage’s best friend, actually raised more like brothers. Skye and Gabe should be off limits to each other but you really can’t help who you lust after…or is it really love?

“The look of satisfaction in her eyes sends a flurry of emotions through me—anger, fear, regret, pride, contentment, lust…and something else I can’t quite put my finger on.”

Skye is determined to have Gabe. She’s loved him for as long as she can remember, even when he only thought of her as a little sister. Gabe is determined to hide his feelings for Skye. He feels like he will just drag her down with his war time nightmares, crazy father and with her being like a little sister to him. But hang on to your hats, there’s a hurricane coming! Not only the hurricane of feelings but the actual weather system itself. When things seem to go wrong what can make it right again? How about a little sex?!? The sex between these two is super hot. But they also ground each other, making everything feel right. And then there’s a little more unexpected crazy thrown in and maybe being together isn’t so bad. But then there’s Savage. His name is Savage for a reason!
I really loved this story. The plot twist kept me turning the page. I really needed to see if these two would be able to handle the consequences of their choices. Also the hint of more stories to come has me waiting…as patiently as possible! (I hope McNamee is writing!) Do I recommend this story? Yes. Very much so.

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Jana Teppih

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1)Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Savage Collision is the first book in the Hawke Family series by Gwyn McNamee. The author has said that it can be read as a standalone and it is true – you get the beginning and conclusion of the relationship between Savage and Danika. But as the author says, we will meet them also in the other books in the series and this book introduces us to the next book’s main characters.
It is a great story with many what the hell moments! You sit back and relax and start enjoying the sexual chemistry and banter between Savage and Danika and bam, you are hit with a twist from the left! Something that you did not see coming! I loved the book as it played on all of my emotions – I cried, I got angry, I got frustrated, I laughed, I … well, you get the picture!
The couple has to overcome many obstacles, there are many secrets and as we know, secrets are never good and at times, they can be deadly! I recommend the book to anyone who likes alpha men, kick ass women, crazy twists, hot and steamy scenes … I promise you an orgasmic ride (you get?).
It was my first encounter with Gwyn McNamee and she did not disappoint me, I am looking forward to Gabe and Skye’s story and I am wondering who would be the leads in the third book … Gwyn has written a great story with a lot of emotions and an engaging storyline and you simply need to take couple of hours to read it!

Savage Collision (Hawke Family #1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Shannon Fowler

Savage Collision (Hawke Family, #1)Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh what can I tell you about Savage Collision?! I can tell you that there are secrets and information withheld for the purest of reasons. I can tell you this story will break your heart just a little and very nicely put it back together again. I can tell you McNamee can write a really good story!
McNamee introduces us to Danika by showing us that she is a sister not to be toyed with. When Danika thinks her sister Nora is in trouble, all bets are off and you do not want to be in her way. Savage, the perceived reason that Nora is in trouble, gets an up-close and personal look at Danika’s protective side! Danika plans to save her sister from Savage and his club but she doesn’t except the owner to look and sound and smell like Savage Hawke.
Savage has always had women throw themselves at him. His money, his body, his connections. They all want something. When Danika comes busting in his office he is sure she wants something too. Savage hopes she wants what he does. He isn’t expecting his own body to respond like it does. He can’t believe the fire he sees in Danika just from their first encounter. And boy oh boy is there fire!
This story had me laughing, crying, and even panting! These two are super hot together, but as with all good things, this too will end, right? With the secrets they each hide and the danger lurking around can Danika and Savage really be it for each other? I for one have always said communication is the key to everything, McNamee has proven me wrong with this story. Some things really are on a need to know basis. I love being wrong, this time. I highly recommend this story!
