The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2) by Shannon Nemechek – Review by Heather Lovelace

The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2)The Traveler: Chimera Revolution by Shannon Nemechek
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nemechek continues to weave an amazing story that began in book one. I truthfully loved book one and had high hopes for this second installment. I’m very thankful it lived up to my expectations. It continued to play to my love of historical fiction while maintaining relevance to today. If you enjoy fiction similar to Outlander, you will enjoy the characters, pace, and plot of The Traveler series.

Blessed: The Academy of Seraph by Brandi Elledge – Review by Heather Lovelace

Blessed: Academy of the SeraphBlessed: Academy of the Seraph by Brandi Elledge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I find Elledge to be extremely gifted in her way with crafting a paranormal YA story that appeals to all ages. This latest story certainly grabbed my attention immediately. I loved how the story was set up – I knew it was going to be an extremely fascinating storyline. I’m so glad I was right. From start to finish I found myself engrossed, relating to the characters (even though I am not “blessed”) and invested in each plot twist. Cannot wait to read what Elledge comes out with next!

I’ve never quite prepared for the stories the Mellett puts together and the journey I’m always taken on. This latest book, taking us to the San Diego chapter, was another emotional ride. Always jam packed with amazing character development and dramatic themes, Being Lost certainly lived up to my hopes and expectations. I fell into this book quickly and devoured every page. Ms. Mellett – I never know how you will top yourself and somehow you always do. Five stars!!

Bevan is so gifted with the sweet romance genre. And then you throw some mistletoe and Santa in the mix – what a perfect combination! FALL: The Ragnarök Prophesies: #2 by A.K. Morgen – Review by Heather Lovelace

Fall (The Ragnarök Prophesies, #2)Fall by A.K. Morgen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Holy guacamole! I jumped into this one face first, without having read book one, and was overwhelmed by the sheer emotion of the journey (in a beautiful way). Heavy on Norse mythology – which I loved – this book felt epic and relatable. Having read some of the other reviews I realize that my love of this book would probably even be enhanced if I had read book one – which is on my to do list. All in all, a beautiful read. I didn’t feel as though I was at a loss without book one so it does stand well on its own – but I will be grabbing it ASAP all the same.

Tompkin’s School: For The Extraordinarily Talented (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 1) by Tabi Slick – Review by Heather Lovelace

Tompkin's School For The Extraordinarily Talented (Supernatural Trilogy #1)Tompkin’s School For The Extraordinarily Talented by Tabi Slick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Paranormal YA fiction can sometimes feel trite or overdone. However I really enjoyed Slick’s take on the paranormal universe in these pages. I was extremely intrigued by how the book opened and then all of a sudden you are transported into such a fascinating world. The family dynamics only helped play into the depth of the storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

The Divided Twin (The Divided Series Book 2) by M. Billiter with Kyle Thomas – Review by Heather Lovelace

The Divided Twin (Divided #2)The Divided Twin by M. Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Billiter does an amazing job tackling a difficult subject in this book and series. This second book is best read in series order. This book follows Aaron and Branson and David and explores schizophrenia. A difficult topic but an amazing exploration of relationships and mental health. I was glued to the pages and really enjoy Billiter collaborating with her son in this book. Extremely well done.

Be One with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs Book 2) by CA Miconi – Review by Heather Lovelace

Be One with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs, #2)Be One with Me by C.A. Miconi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Miconi does a beautiful job writing stories filled with deep characters and raw emotion. This book had me riding a roller coaster I both expected and was unprepared for, in a very real and beautiful way. This story shows the beautiful reality of finding commonalities no matter the stark contrast of backgrounds between two people. How tragedy can bind. How opposites can balance. I look forward to reading this again as well as reading the other book in the series.
