Wow. Just wow. I couldn’t turn away as I flew through this emotionally charged book. It was deep, sad, dark, mesmerizing. It was haunting and incredibly real. The author has a real gift. This was an incredible book and one that even with all of the emotion I would recommend.

I love Biglow and Zenk’s collaborations to date and this latest did not disappoint. I was immediately captivated with the book opening and stayed glued to the pages to find out what would happen next. Just a very enjoyable book – I certainly hope to read more!

Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoy Nolan’s storytelling and the characters in this series. Jake is a very strong lead and there is quite a bit that unfolds in this book. Tons of detail that helps you definitely plug into the exact place the author wants to transport you to. I really hope to read more of Jake and his adventures and see how Nolan continues shaping the series.

Nolan hits this one right out of the park. I was captivated right out of the gate and couldn’t put it down before finishing the last page. The chemistry jumped off the page and lit up the room. Every emotion felt extremely tangible and sincere. I don’t have adequate words to express how much I enjoyed this book without possibly spoiling the story for others. This is one you need to read for yourself.

I haven’t found a book by McKinley yet that I haven’t loved. From the beautiful cover to the captivating book blurb, I knew this was going to be another wonderful literary ride. And I was so right. I loved the journey this took me on and the up and downs I traveled with these characters. Some expected conflict, heated moments, and just some intense chemistry – I loved every page and cannot wait to read this again. Loved it!

Dreaming of Christmas by Joanne Dannon

This collection of Christmas stories is one that any contemporary romance lover will want to add to their library immediately. The author has done a beautiful job crafting each story, with wonderful characters and enthralling holiday storylines. I enjoyed each short story on its own and the collection in its entirety. A perfect volume for a cozy winter read near the Christmas tree. Loved it!
The Dog Thief and Other Stories by Jill Kearney

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this volume but I was charmed by the short stories I found within. Kearney does a beautiful job filling the pages with stories that will absolutely warm the heart of all dog lovers. If you have a pet you love or know someone that does, this work is one that you will thoroughly enjoy.

High Heels And Mistletoe by C.A. King

King is a one click author for me and I always enjoy seeing how she easily navigates between several different genres. This book is a charming romantic comedy that puts King’s character building on display. From page one, I was endeared to the leading lady and her mysterious allergy. This holiday caper was full of wit, charm, and holiday cheer. Fantastic dialogue and plot pacing, this story will most definitely become part of my regular holiday reading. Loved every page!

Blood of the Dragon by Martin Ferguson

The Relic Hunters series continues and this might be my favorite of the series to date. As the books build on each other I would recommend reading this in series order. Ferguson has done a terrific job weaving a story that appeals to all ages. This latest adventure was just as action packed as I have come to expect. Truly enjoyed every page and look forward to reading more from this author.

Holmes continues to keep me glued to my seat with this latest series installment. Her attention to detail lends itself to immediate immersion into Hani’s world. Continued excellence with storyline pacing and character development, I have loved diving into ancient Egypt with Holmes. Cannot recommend this book, series, and author more highly.

Valkyrie is quickly becoming a one click author in the paranormal genre for me. She has a distinct voice with extremely well developed characters. I love the strong female leads! This book – boy did it ever NOT disappoint. An amazing kickoff to a great series. I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. Literally my only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book. Loved it!

I really enjoy Charalambides’s writing style and am thoroughly enjoying how this series continues to develop. This is not the overdone or predictable vampire fiction that seems to be mass produced at times. Charalambides has put together a fresh and original tale that continues to pull you in and keep you glued to the pages. I have loved this series so far and cannot wait to see how it continues to develop. Another winner!

The North Wind Descends by N.L. Holmes

Holmes is quickly climbing my list of must read authors. I don’t find historical fiction often that dive so completely into ancient Egypt and still create characters that are relatable. Hani is at it again, protecting his family and solving another mystery. I love watching Hani develop throughout the series as well as his family members and colleagues. This is a rich story that builds upon itself and is best enjoyed in series order. Extremely well written. I just love these books!

I have greatly enjoyed this latest edition in the Lucky Devil series. Mackie does a fantastic job writing a steampunk fantasy with a some romance thrown in. I have just loved how these books have been constructed and this latest installment lived up to my expectations. Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett

Mellett is always a one click author for me. She never disappoints. And I never know how she is going to exceed my expectations and yet she always somehow does. This book – Grumbler – just wow. Dark, emotional, some very deep places – this book has a slower pace than other installments but it absolutely leaves you just a riveted and invested. I couldn’t walk away from this book before the last page was read. Amazing as always. Loved it.

I continued to thoroughly enjoy the world that Ferguson has put together. Although billed as a YA adventure, this book and series can be enjoyed by all ages. Fans of historic fiction will enjoy the time and place this story unfolds in. Rich in detail and packed full of action, this is a story that will captivate you from beginning to end. Loved it.

The Mummy of Monte Cristo by J. Trevor Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved the tale this is based off of and was excited to see how Robinson would stay true to the material while putting a paranormal spin on the context. Anyone that has spent any time in the pages originally spun by Dumas will find Robinson staying true to major character details and plot movement. The pacing felt similar and there was a certain epic scale to this tale that is often not part of modern fiction. I was intrigued to read these pages to find how the paranormal spin would root and resolve. I embraced this new spin on a classic and thoroughly enjoyed it. The original is a classic and cannot be truly matched. However by changing the environment and a few key plot points, Robinson does a beautiful job refreshing it and staying true to its basic principles. Loved it.

Soul’s Day Boxset: Horror and Paranormal Halloween Theme by Erin Lee

This anthology was a “fun” departure from the usual anthologies I find to read. Very well put together, the collection was cohesive and well publicized for the spookier time of year. If you enjoy paranormal, spooky reading, you will enjoy this volume. All of the authors contributed something I found interesting – and I found some authors that I hadn’t read before. I will admit that Wynne was an immediate pull for me as I’ve read several other works from her library. It was nice to see her step outside the genre I typically find her writing. Overall just a great story from Wynne and collection from the group.

I love Flockton’s books and was so glad to find this holiday edition to feast on. It had just the right mixture of romance, drama, sass – it was just fantastic. I immediately invested in the storyline and dove head first into another Prentice brothers adventure very willingly. A quick delightful read that readied my heart for the holiday season!

This is my second book from this author and I just can’t get over how fast I plugged in, invested in these characters. I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down before reading it cover to cover. I was captivated by the stunning cover and equally captivated by the story I discovered within these pages. I loved how this story unfolded and immediately connected with Belladonna. Tons of emotion, this book unfolded before me and felt like a long lost friend in some way. The writing style was comfortable and detailed. The setting was something from a beautiful Hallmark movie. I simply adored these characters and reading how they found their way. Beautiful!

If you like college romance with emotion, you’ll love this book. Jordan and Tessa were electrifying from the first moment they met. I was immediately drawn in and immediately invested in finding out what happened next. This is part one of a duet so there is resolution to wait for as to be expected. But an excellent book and one absolutely worth reading.
