Not So Wrong (Love Grows Book 2) by Renee Regent – Review by Heather Lovelace

Not So Wrong (Love Grows series, Book 2)Not So Wrong by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This contemporary romance hit all the right notes for me. Melanie and Spencer were fantastic main characters to watch/follow. I dove right into the story and found myself on the last page before I was ready to let go. This book moved well and was full of emotion, romance, drama. You name it – this book had it. One of the better contemporary romances I’ve had the privilege of reading this year. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from Regent.

This was an emotionally charged book. The emotions truly leapt off the page and overwhelmed me at times. Readers are rightfully warned of any potential triggers within the book.

This wonderful story is specifically targeted to an audience in the tween/teen category. It is detailed, quirky, quick witted, and deals solidly with real troubles facing that age group without being condescending or belittling. I found the premise charming and the MC relatable and funny. I really enjoyed reading this book and believe, no matter what age you are, you will find something to love in these pages.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book certainly didn’t disappoint following the high bar set by the previous books in the series. I find Frelick to be an extremely gifted writer, especially tackling the sci-fi/fantasy genre the way she does. It is written in a way that seems to translate well to readers who otherwise aren’t usually attracted to the genre. The characters are realistic and relatable. The plot moves quickly and keeps the reader engaged. There is a magic I found unfolding as I read. Minute by minute I found myself diving deeper into this universe and I loved every second of it. A fantastic book and one I will most definitely recommend to others.

I’m sitting here stunned and quite frankly a bit speechless. This book is brilliant. It is a brutally honest look at mental illness as dealt with by a teen. So often we tiptoe around this subject, in real life as well as screen or prose. This felt raw and honest. The multi-POV makes for an engaging and fast paced read. I was glued to the book as soon as I opened it. An absolute must read.
