My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Eve Sawyer Mystery series. Blake owns a food truck that he parks at the beach. He has decided to try to get a ban on plastics at the beach, which is always littered with garbage. Eve and Cassie find that Blake is being rushed to the hospital. Cassie’s house has also been broken into. Eve starts to work with Jake, a reporter, to find out what is happening in this normally quiet little town and it seems to be tied to the plastics ban.

Liam returns home after two decades for some R&R. With his job up in the air and his relationship rocky, imagine his surprise when his accommodations are located above his old BFF’s flower shop. Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye – Review by Heidi Schoolman

Happily Ever AfterHappily Ever After by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a romance boxed set by an outstanding array of authors. My favorite one was Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye. This particular story follows Perrie and Ash. They knew each other years ago and end up meeting up in Las Vegas. Perrie is looking for a roommate and she never thought for one second it would be Ash responding. As Perrie and Ash maneuver through their relationship as friends and then beyond, there are moments you will be really mad and other times you will laugh so hard.

Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 1)Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings series. This story is set in the 1800’s in England and follows Melinda. Melinda took care of her father’s estate while he was sick. When he died, the estate was left to a distant relative. She had nowhere else to go and is allowed to stay and work as a maid for her cousin – for free. This was such a refreshing retelling of Cinderella.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Heidi Schoolman

This is the first book in the series.  This story follows Dahlia Nite, a shapeshifting assassin, who runs from her world to escape execution and hides out in the human world.  When a series of strange murders start to occur, she must work to tamp down the secrets that are trying to get out.  I loved the different characters – dragons, humans, and even half dragons.  Even the two worlds were spectacular in description.  Cannot wait for the rest of the series.

Broken Circle: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 1 AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Heidi Schoolman

This is the first book in the Gray Ghost Novel series. This story follows Alex, a police officer, and Olivia, an artist. Being married to Alex is exactly what she needs to escape her families political ties. Alex shifts gears and turns to politics. Now she is back in the very life she was trying to escape. Past secrets threaten to undo everything she has worked for. Can this book get any better? Yes, keep listening!
