Overall, I enjoyed this story. Emma was an interesting character that fought for women’s rights in a time when we didn’t have them. There were really strange interruptions by the “narrator” that really didn’t flow into the story and really felt pointless. I did enjoy Emma’s adventures and many of the characters, but the story just jumped around a little too much.
This book was a first for me from these authors and I was not disappointed. This was a beautifully written book. Absolutely loved Rowan’s character and the fire/sass in her. Can’t wait to read the second book!

Let me give you a little backstop. After being asleep for 1500 years, 5th century Ciarán, an ancient pagan priest in Ireland , awakens to find himself in 20th century after being found as a pristine specimen by archeologist, Caitlin O’Connell, who transported him to New York. When he awoke and the amazingly intact specimen went missing, mystery and magic ensues and the story begins to unfold. If you read these books out of order you will find yourself adrift. You really need the background created in book 1, The Cross of Ciarán, to fully appreciate the continuing mystical escapades of Ciarán and Caitlin. As a continuing tale I fully expected that it would be filled with the history the author put in her previous novel, however she exceeded my expectations. I love the addition of the hunt for a serial killer, on top of the hunt for the book that may actually be the key to stopping the serial killer. Again I was a little disappointed in the romance between Caitlin and Ciarán, but in this book it was fully understandable because of the memories Ciarán is seized by. Memories of his wife and his brother, memories of the Ireland he loved and the wicked clash between the way it is now. A story about finding yourself, finding long abiding love and about enchanted mystery will keep you hooked to the very end! I cannot wait for book three!!

This is a romance with a little bit of a history. The days when mixed marriages were frowned upon. In this story Noemie and Richard come face to face with racism. You will get to go back to the sixties and read along as these two incredible people fight for love. Richard will do just about anything for Noemie. Noemie, having racism thrown at her daily, just wants to protect the man she loves. Even if it means she can’t see him or love him. How will these 2 beautiful people’s hearts find where love leads them?
Victoria Saccenti has opened the door to the 60s. A time when the people were divided by race and color. A time where people could get killed over talking to the wrong person. Growing up in the 60s I remember hearing such horrific stories. This is a beautifully written story about just such forbidden love. One I think everybody will enjoy. Noemie is such a strong independent woman. Richard is a strong protector, who loves who he loves. The characters in this story are believable in how life was back then. You will find the world around you fades away as you listen to this story of forbidden love. Hop on this audio train and listen in. Well Done Victoria Saccenti! Well Done! ! !

Book Review: Scarlet Princess The Lochlann Feuds Book One Authors: Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison FIVE STARS This story of Princess Rowan and Lord Theodore is riviting. The travels and her being on trial. The end of that trial and the outcome. HOLY COW. I truly cannot wait for book two to come out. My KU subscription has lead me to more and more fabulous authors and this is one of those books that I have discovered. I will definately be reading more especially about the Lochlann Feuds. Princess Rowan is definately outspoken and has spunk. She is a wonderful character. And oh my gosh, her “weather toe” had me in stitches. KLH

Notebook Mysteries I loved that the author drew me in with her cover of the book and the involvement of women in history and breaking the barrier of norms for that time era because women did try and do that and they had to sneak around as well. I loved that the author addressed the readers specifically as though to draw us in more to the mystery and book and get us involved in the case and our minds working rather than just an outside perspective of just reading and watching a scene unfold. I honestly wish I would have read the first book because it would have been bomb. I will be reading it now. It isn’t as though you need it though to read this book. Well written. This book can be read as a standalone.
Scarlett Princess This book was by far one of the best I have read. Originally I had just got it on kindle unlimited but I proceeded to buy it on Amazon it was that good. Rowan and Davin get caught for trespassing and smuggling in another country they were once at war with. They have to face the clans in a decision that decides their fate, but she is able to convince the Socairans to take her only and let her cousin Davin free since her family couldn’t afford to lose someone else. Her Da constantly told her not to do anything stupid but she was a free spirt as was her cousin. What will happen? Will this be the end of Princess Rowan? Will there be war? Scandal? Read on to find out. The writer is very well versed in her speech.

Rowan is a Princess, who does not have a care in the world, but living life to the fullest. However, when a tunnel collapses, she ends up trapped inside with her cousin. They are found by a different group of people, who have a history with our family and group. Rowan’s family is from the Lochlann, and she ended up being captured by one of their enemies. While Rowan is in fear for her life wondering if she will ever see her family again, a romantic relationship starts building with one of her captures, but many twists and turns take place throughout the whole book. It does keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. This book was so good, that I read it in less than 24 hours, and I am already waiting on the 2nd book to release.

This Audible story was truly one I couldn’t stop listening to. It takes you back in history when not everyone was working together. It showed you how romance between two different people were like and treated. Noémie and Richard were so well described and I love their backgrounds and stories. Well done to this book!

Noémie’s Journey AUDIO BOOK by Victoria Saccenti is a Contemporary Romance that I absolutely loved listening to I found myself so caught up in the story I didn’t want to do anything else but listen to the narrator. I enjoyed listening I find it very calming especially with how crazy stuff is nowadays. Anyways this is my first audio book by this author and I’m definitely a fan. This is Richard and Noémie’s story you can say opposites attract only because one’s running from the past while the other is trying to make a future. God I love these to characters and their chemistry between them is crazy. Can these two have the relationship they want /need or will it end in heartbreak? I highly recommend listening/reading this to find out what happens next. I look forward to listening to more from this Author and the narrator.

4 Stars Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
I truly enjoyed reading this Historical Young adult story that once I started reading there no putting it down. This is the second book in the Decisions and Possibilities series by Kimberly Mullins. I’m a huge fan of all historical genres and this definitely was worth the read. Emma recently graduated from business school and is ready to focus on doing some investigating. Things get interesting and I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure it all out. What will happen when there’s a new person added to the team? Sometimes things and people aren’t always as they seem. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I loved this story of Noemi and Richard. Richard wants to protect Noemi really pulls at my heart strings. Setting of a small town, the racism that Noemi had to deal with on a daily basis… I couldn’t possibly imagine. There are so many obstacles as Richard is white, while Noemi is not…and the story taking place in the 60’s with some rocky times for social equality. This story is heartbreaking at times and beautiful.

Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison was a good read. The story had a number of twists and turns which made for a suspenseful story. Rowan’s journey has a lot of adventure and trouble and the book ended with a cliffhanger so I am sure her journey has just begun. Robin D. Mahle and Ellie Madison have created a world that draws the reader in and I look forward to reading more from them.

I COULDN’T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!! I LOVED IT IMMENSELY! Going on the journey with the reckless Rowan and her cousin in crime, Davin, into the enemy kingdom of Socair was the much-needed escape needed. The story is one that is easy to get lost in behind the enemy lines, court intrigue, relationships, and adventure! Everything definitely picks up once Lord Theodore explains the situation that the Princess and her cousin are in and how their actions have serious consequences. Enter The Summit and court intrigue and adventure for our protagonists to get involved in! Please do yourself a favor and read this book. You won’t regret it!

Finally, a princess that breaks the mold! This book drew me in from the very first page and didn’t loosen its grip even when I reached the last page. Princess Rowan is such a spitfire that her beautiful red hair absolutely suits her personality. She is the complete opposite of what one would typically expect a Princess to be. She is brave and adventurous and outspoken. The authors did an amazing job of showing just how much one mistake can change your entire life. The way that Rowan handled being suddenly thrust into a different kingdom where women are expected to look pretty and keep quiet was fabulous. She made me laugh out loud so many times and think to myself good for her! Watching Lord Theodore slowly transition to Theo was priceless. He comes across as a typical stuffy, boring jerk royal until he starts to let his walls down and Rowan has so much to do with that. She upturns his life like a hurricane, but one that he desperately needed. Rowan and Theo really bring out the best in each other. I experienced so many different emotions as I read this book and the ending definitely had my mouth dropped open in shock and eager to read the next book in this series.

Mullins really did a great job in her character development in this book. I really enjoyed Emma and her strong character and she was very relatable. I felt you needed it with some of the mysteries that went on here with the womens shelter. In the beginning she showed how you can be anything and do anything if you just put your mind to it. Even in a mans world you can stand out and honestly more young girls need to read books that can build you up. I liked that there was a few cases in one story.
Welp. I made the mistake of reading this and not knowing that it’s a spin off of another series that takes place 20ish years before. 😉 It’s a good mistake though because I have more of this world I get to be exposed to from Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison! (Also the first book I’ve read by them and I’m obsessed with them now) Anyway…. The beginning lured me in and got me good. I love the introduction we got to Rowan! She’s so badass and I love the way she challenges the “norm” (which “norm” for Socarian not for her). Theo is distracting. When I first read his description I spent an embarrassing amount of time daydreaming over him. 😉 The cover is beautiful and eye catching and I AM EAGER for the next one! I’m excited for the other series I missed though! Onto the next 💖

Scarlett Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D Mahle And Elle Madison 5 Stars
This book is so good! I’ve never read a book by these authors and I’m so glad that I did. It’s an edge of your seat ride from beginning to end. Oh what an ending! I can’t believe that I have to wait for the next book in the series. They need to hurry up and write it.
Princess Rowan is a woman who acts and speaks before she thinks. She is sassy and outspoken, I love her. This time it has gotten her in a heap of trouble. She ends up on the other side of the mountain in an enemy kingdom. Their laws are much stricter than her own, especially for women. There seems to be only two ways out of this situation; death or another war. Neither seems to be a good option but how can she diffuse the animosity when everyone believes that she’s cursed because of her red hair?
The story was exciting and the characters were amazing even the ones you hated. I haven’t been this absorbed in a book in a while. I can’t wait to see what happens in book two.

10/5 Stars!! Holy cow I am so excited to read book 2! Scarlet Princess by Robin Mahle & Elle Madison was a wonderful read. It has a simple but structured writing style that lets you read for 4 hours before you realize what happened!
Following Rowan and Theo as they tease and test each other had me giggling the whole time! Being able to capture somber moments in the way these authors do is a rare treat. While she is a strong woman, Theo can’t help but try and protect her, which pushes more from her. Davin was a great comedic relief, always the life of the party. @karenmmarsh

This is my first audio book by this author which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the narrator’s tone of voice. I also enjoyed how they kept it engaging for me. The characters are not only connectable but the narrator also did a great job of bringing them to life. This is a story about Noemie and Richard. They are opposites, one running from the past and the other trying to make a future. What will fate have in store for these two? Can love find a way or will it be nothing but heartbreak? I really liked both of these characters and their chemistry together. It is a great romance story that I highly recommend. It is not only worth listening to but it will keep you listening to the end.

In “Noémie’s Journey”, Richard Winters rode his beloved motorcycle from New York to North Carolina trying to escape his past. As he was trying to start a new life, an unexpected interest, Noémie Bellerose, caught his attention. However, in 1968, in the south, this was going to cause some problems since he was a white man intrigued with a woman who came from a problem family and was not 100% white. Through their journey, they faced many trials and tribulations due to individuals in town not agreeing with this possible arrangement. In addition, Noémie and her younger brother also have to deal with an alcoholic and abusive father. They were realistic about what a relationship would mean; did this hinder or enhance their future? I thought this was a pretty good book. I enjoyed the message the book was portraying: diversity isn’t something to fear; adversity can make one stronger; having a partner helps soften the blow; and love can conquer so much, to name a few.

I’ve got to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I’m not a massive fan of YA books, but this one really is a cut above the rest, having a sophistication and style that really just makes it. A testament to the writing skill of Mullins, I feel, who writes awesomely, pulling you into a vibrant and interesting world that you never want to leave.
Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read easily as a stand-alone, nothing at all is lost by not reading the first one, but I would recommend reading it anyways just to soak up more awesomeness. Emma Evans has just graduated from business school, muddling through Chicago in 1883 where being a strong independent woman isn’t the easiest, but Emma manages it with style. Soon she becomes embroiled in mystery and intrigue, along with some confusing feelings towards two men that have turned up in her life.
I’m not giving any more away though, it’s such a fun and exciting read. Mullins really brings her the world to life and takes the reader on an adventure that sticks with you even after you’ve stopped reading.
This was such a good listen! I was hooked from the beginning because the story was awesome and so was this narrator. This was a very long listen for me at over 12 hours. I had to listen in multiple sessions but I enjoyed it enough to keep coming back. I would recommend this to a friend! Happy Reading!

Love Love Love Love this book. I dont think I can say enough!! It gives me all the feels!!! First, the cover of the book is just stunning!! The story is truly amazing. Princess Rowan and her cousin Davin start out by trying to smuggle vodka…on their way back in the tunnels, it collapse’s. Guards from Socarian take Rowan and Davin where they find out that smuggling could be punishable by death. There is a “Summit” called by the the leader of the Elk Clan and Rowan also meets Theo, whom is the brother of the leader.
I just loved Rowan’s character. Fiery, sassy, passionate with a mind of her own. She is a girl to love! Theo, I adored him so. I really love them together and love the protectiveness that Theo wants to provide to Rowan so she does not meet the fate of possible death due to her smuggling.
If you love a great young adult story with some twists, a fiery princess and an Ending that **AHHHH** this book is for you!!

When I came across Scarlet Princess by authors Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison, I was definitely interested and curious. It ended up being very unexpected and so much more than I could hope for going in! I absolutely loved it! Rowan, a Lochlann princess, gets arrested for smuggling vodka from the lands of Socair. Being faced with impending death in her future based on what The Summit decides, she starts to get close and break through the facade of Lord Theodore on the Elks Clan. Rowan’s personality as fiery, as her red locks of hair, is a force to be reckoned with. I love the power and strength the authors have given her. Diving deep into the lands of Socair and it’s people, the authors created a world that made the reader feel for its people. Continuing on this adventure to The Summit and experiencing it makes me want more. I can’t wait till book 2 is released! I’m ready now but I know we have to wait. I can’t even describe everything I feel, but anyone who decides to read this I guarantee will feel the same way!

I really enjoyed this book. It’s hard to believe even from Rowan’s point of view, that smuggling could get you the consequence of death. Her cousin makes me laugh. He is rambunctious but also careful when he needs to be, especially when Rowan takes risks and often makes choices that may not always be the right one. I hope to continue reading this series as I had to read it through without stopping.

If I could give a book more than five stars, this would be one of them! I have not been left this speechless by the end of a book in a very long time, but after reading the Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison, it is safe to say that I am. This book forbade you from putting it down from the moment you picked it up, each paragraph making you question what the ending of this incredible story would be.
The anticipation in this book, however, barely rivals the chemistry between Princess Rowan of Lochlann Kingdom and Lord Theodore of Clan Elk of the Socair Kingdom. Despite all of the heart-racing inducing scenes throughout the book, which at times made me want to yell in frustration, the true captivation of this story lies in what happens between the two of them. Needless to say, the ending of this book had me in tears for many reasons, reasons that I will not give away because everyone deserves to read this amazing book! I am very much looking forward to reading the next novel!

Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Kayla Kearney
This is my first read in this series and if I hadn’t read the reviews, I might not have known other Lochlann books existed. With that being said I fell in love with the authors writing, character development and scene building. Rowan is a spitfire princess who seems to do things first and then ask questions later. Depicted as the black sheep of her family, always in trouble alongside her cousin Davin. In their latest escapade they get caught in an enemy kingdom and will be judged for their crimes at a summit of the clans. Lord Theodore is as straightlaced and uptight as they come but through shared moments Rowan seems to break through his outer shell to find the strong, protective, caring man that she never knew she needed. This is a book that teaches you that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Each story has two sides to it and although you may think you know everything there are always circumstances that you cannot even fathom. This book will take you on an emotional ride with Rowan as she learns that actions have consequences, but it is important to uphold your morals. Can Rowan and Theodore overcome generations of hate so they can have a future together? Will her future even last past the summit meeting of the clans? You have to read this book to find out but I promise this is one journey you’ll be glad you took!

Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Vanessa Watts
I absolutely loved this book! I’m a huge fan of young adult books but this one is definitely at the top of my list. Rowan is such a great character. She is so full of fire and passion! I could not put this book down! I lost sleep over this book and have no regrets! This was the first book I read by these authors but I will definitely be reading more by them. I cannot wait for book 2 that comes out next month!

Scarlet Princess is your next must read! It was so good that I could hardly put it down. Rowan Pendragon is so relatable. Every smart mouth, sarcastic comment she says is something I would say or at least have thought. Rowan and her cousin Davin accidentally break the laws of a neighboring country. Lord Theodore Korhonan is from Socair and has to take charge of Rowan. Along the way, they develop feelings for each other, but Rowan’s punishment and fate rests in the clans of Socair. Will Theo and Rowan be free to marry each other or will Rowan be sentenced to death for her crime? Find out in the Scarlet Princess!
